Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
sassy34264 · 08/07/2012 20:55

pebble was at our rental house, stripping wallpaper.

got home to a smug dp- who said looking after the babies was 'a piece of piss' Hmm he watched them for 8 hours, i had them for 144 hours straight last week (6 full days) so i can see the comparison Hmm
if i posted about him in relationships, they'd say LEAVE THE BASTARD Grin

sorry you had a bad hangover- but hope you had a great time.

lookout · 08/07/2012 20:56

LP glad you had a fun night! I can't stand the hangovers nowadays though. Last time was a couple months ago and feeling that rough when you have a small baby to tend to is bloody hard work!

mama I second what LP said about your birthday - where do you live? Chocolate AND wine. Very important Wink

Fuzzzy poor S Sad the photo is so sad. We are not 'cat people' so dh said 'typical of cats, stupid creatures' Grin Good to hear about you getting some work though! It'll be fine with the baby, the kids'll entertain her!

Have discovered E loves baby bolognese with farfellini (couldn't find any vermicelli whoever it was who recommended, man I'm rubbosh with names Blush). He sits there like a little bird with his mouth wide open waiting for me to shovel it in. Very cute!

FuzzzyDuckosaurus · 08/07/2012 21:43

lookout the cats are very good with her. She gets close, they just run off the other way. It was just a pure accident that as he tried to jump in a box (Hmm) it fell and he ended on ontop of her and just nicked her face. Smile about the bolognese. S is a fan of tomato based meals. She loves meatballs in sauce with pasta. Great way to get plenty veg in, hidden in sauce Grin
sassy leave the bastard Grin

TallyBear · 08/07/2012 22:34

Fuzzzy bless her. I'm sure no one was thinking anything, and if they did so what... Just make sure that the scratch doesn't become inflamed. Some people are allergic to cat scratches (or something in them or something like that) anyway, you probably know all this as you have two. I sometimes come up if one of mine (accidentally) scratches.
Do you blw? Seb likes tomato based things too but I'm a bit worried about him throwing things all over the cream carpet (bloody stupid thing to have with a baby and two dark long-haired cats!!).

Lookout Grin at E's baby bird impression!

Mama Thanks for next week. Or should that be Wine! There isn't a chocolate symbol - poor show mn! That would get used a lot! Thanks for the recipe. I'm not much of a baker but that looks easy (and yummy), must have a go. Is it OK to use over ripe bananas? We always have some going off!

Sassy perhaps you should have a girly weekend away!!

Had an NCT 'Yummy mummy' curry night out last night. Was really lovely to get out. Managed to get through nearly a whole bottle of red..not sure how I was walking at the end!

Looked in Seb's mouth today and I think there are three (or maybe four) top teeth coming through at the same time!! Three have just about cut through. He's not made a fuss or anything, although sometimes he cries when he's eating but he's done quite a bit since we started weaning so we never thought anything of it Sad.

lovinbeingmum · 08/07/2012 22:54

mama 34...hmm...:)

fuzzy all the best for the week. also, how do you type when she's having milk! is she totally feeding from the beaker now? i tried it...but....he will have water from a beaker but when it comes to milk, turns up his nose, mouth closes, lips get pursed and that's it. no more drinking of anything :/

pebble was fun reading about your evening. i had my first glass of wine last month after a good 15 months and was reeling. Spent the night checking on him every hour just staring and wondering 'I made that'...alcoholic over-emotionalism :)

strawberrypenguin · 08/07/2012 23:31

W enjoyed meeting his great grandad today and I think gg enjoyed it too. Took lots of pics my FIL came along too so I've got some great pics of 4 generations in the same place Smile (gg is DHs grandfather)

fuzzzy cruise sounds lovely. Poor S even cats can get their aim a bit off, daft moggys! Yay for work even if it is temporary I'm sure you'll be fine with S in tow.

mama try not to worry about it too much I think we have to be honest on here and I think we (hopefully) all know that things are never meant to hurt anyone and differences of opinion are fine (I know I've learnt a lot from you and the others on here)

LP sounds like a good night out!

FuzzzyDuckosaurus · 09/07/2012 08:23

LBM she only has some milk from her beaker in the afternoons. The way she snuggles in means I can hold bottle with one hand and type in phone in the other. It's usually the only 10 mins im sitting still long enough to reply to texts!!
sp lovely to hear about W meaning ggp! S has both ggp in my dads side (although hasn't met great grandad as I've not seen him either since I was about 2) and her 'nana' on my mums side. My grandad died about 6 years ago, was really sad as he would have loved S... My gran was over the moon when I told her she was to become a great gran Smile. She dotes on her and has to see her twice a week!!
This past weekend has been a huge development leap for S. she is pulling up on all the furniture, up on her knees to crawl far more now (think she had at first decided commando crawling was faster Hmm..). She is cruising along everything!

emmazed · 09/07/2012 09:12

mama I just want to echo what everyone has said, I think it is important we all feel we can give our opinions on things, not least because they may strike a chord with someone who hasn't thought of it before. I really hope sch comes back soon, but I don't think you should blame yourself

fd you sound like you will have a busy week! Good luck with it. I reckon you are a fab nanny and will cope really well

V annoyingly Joseph has ANOTHER cold. Wouldn't matter particularly, but due to go back to see my parents as my mum is having more chemo. Have had to cancel it as don't want to risk her catching it (having chemo really lowers your immune so can be dangerous to get anything). So upset about the whole thing, really want to be there for my mum, and poor Joseph who feels rotten again.

sp what a special day. I love the thought of the generations all together, I am sure you will remember it for a long time.

lookout · 09/07/2012 10:30

sp we have a 4 generations photo too Smile it also has my brother who died in it, so it's a very special photo for me.

em sorry to hear about another cold. I'm sure your mum will understand but must be frustrating for you to not be there for her. Everything crossed that he gets better soon so you can see your mum.

sassy dh would never dare say that to me. I think you should LEAVE THE BASTARD Wink

fuzzzy good luck this week. And hooray for cruising! More bruises probably on the way! E has started pushing up onto his knees so fully expecting my easy life to get busier soon! I was only kidding about the cats, I know it was an accident Smile Do you not find in RL though that people are either 'dog' or 'cat'? We always had dogs so I jsut don't 'get' cats Grin. Meatballs are a great idea, will do some of those soon!

TB ds1 didn't make hardly a peep about his teeth either. You wouldn't have nown he was teething apart from the dribble! They just suddenly were there! You're night out sounds great - i have one this friday with my original NCT group from ds1. We still meet up just the mummies but we have 25 kids between us now Shock so bit difficult to meet with the kids too!

Hi everyone else, and hope all is well Smile

FuzzzyDuckosaurus · 09/07/2012 10:40

Ment to add, tally I do more spoon feeding but give her plenty fingers foods which she is doing well with. Like for breakfast, I will spoon weetabix and she will feed herself some toast/blueberries. Then maybe a wee snack of breadsticks, raisins etc which she does herself. Her pincer grip is coming in great, she managed some to pick up some rice the other day that I was impressed by Grin. I as well don't fancy tomato sauce all over my cream carpet!!!

MamaMaiasaura · 09/07/2012 10:43

Fuzzy how is S nose today? Poor baby, I'd have been in tears too. Sounds like a busy few weeks but you'll be great. Envy of your parents cruise . Yay for S cruising and crawling, they're fast little monkeys aren't they? Grin

Tally I think recipe works best with over ripe bananas. Envy of your NCT curry and wine night. We gave light carpets too but vinyl in kitchen so blw manageable (walls get spattered). I am naughty tho that I spoon feed alongside her self feeding. Did any of Sebs teeth come thro overnight? J cut 3 in a week (2 bottom and 1 top) and total of 5 so far but other 3 top are very lumpy, I can see white edge, red gums and drooling everywhere.

Sassy what did you say to the 'piece of piss' comment? Cheeky git. I was chuffed that the dc played up for dh Saturday morning, that was only for an hour or so and he struggled.

Emma oh no for J cold. How is your dsis doing? I can't imagine how hard it must be. You are helping your mum by helping keeping your sister germ free. (hug)

LP sorry but lol at your drunken shannigans. Grin

strawberry love the 4 generations together, glad you had good day. My gps are step gps as all others have dies. My natural gps would have adored my dc and they them.

J's hating ear drops but definitely a lot better and no more horrid wax stuff. She's got a bit of upset tummy but could be the teething. Bad mummy here, laying in bed feeding sleeping J while on iPhone and ds2 is on iPad next to me.

Thanks everyone for comments re other stuff. I am sorry that it went the way it did and quite bewildered.

MamaMaiasaura · 09/07/2012 10:46

Sorry I meant to add

lovebringmum Grin and drunken (on 1 glass) over emotionalism. I have been teetotal for so long a glass of wine makes me silly.

BB3 how is K doing? Miss your posts. I sent fb message to you the other day, hope it was ok and not too garbled Grin

FuzzzyDuckosaurus · 09/07/2012 10:55

mama must try the banana loaf. S loves bananas so im sure it would be a hit! Her nose looking not as bad, not as red. Just hoping it doesn't leave a scar Sad

MamaMaiasaura · 09/07/2012 10:59

fuzzy I can't see how deep it is but might be worth getting nurse to check it as its on her face. Ds2 fell against flower pot and cut just under his eye when a baby and hosp steri stripped it close but it has scarred and would have been better glued.

Penelope1980 · 09/07/2012 11:03

I wasn't a part of the "heated" discussions the other day (came into it after you all decided to park the issue so had to sit on my hands instead of reply Grin) but do think that there is nothing wrong with differences in opinion. If we all agreed on everything, Mumsnet wouldn't exist, and we possibly would never have met Wink

It is a strange thing though, internet debate, esp in a forum like this when we know each other (although it seems that some people remember details of some people better than others as do I - I remember some ppl's locations, jobs, dc names, details, but not some others and are aware the rest are the same with me!). I'd like to think that we have all been round each other long enough now for disagreements not to matter.

And Mama, if it helps, my coffee group in RL has just started to have more differences in opinion as well in how we raise our LOs, I think it's the stage - the babies are older now, the need for support while still there feels less immediate, and the number of ways you can parent differently seems to grow so conversations where ppl disagree are bound to happen. I guess that's a long warbled way of saying not to worry ...

FuzzzyDuckosaurus · 09/07/2012 14:38

On subject of great grandparents, isn't it funny to think that it will become the norm in years to come as obv people live longer. However, my mum and dads grandparents died when they were young so didn't really have then around when they were growing up

MamaMaiasaura · 09/07/2012 16:12

Sad and Angry and I wish I'd never gotten into discussion earlier on thread. Just so pissed off now.

MamaMaiasaura · 09/07/2012 16:13

Ignore my prev rant. Not the place for it. Blush

sassy34264 · 09/07/2012 16:25

sorry, ive made the mistake of reading all the posts earlier and now i have forgot what everyone said.
im a little anxious, so very sorry for the me post, but ive just changed eva's bum and there are spots all over her front bum, going up to her naval and on her bum. the one's on her front are small and rash like (very close together) the ones on her bum are very few but big and look like they will crust.

im thinking chicken pox -massive groan --

the twins havent had them!!

does it sound like it?

MamaMaiasaura · 09/07/2012 16:31

Not sure sassy could just be a viral rash maybe or heat one as nappy area. We've been on pox watch but never materialised. Friends kids had them, started on head and literally spread fast. Large red blotchy spot with blister middle. Google the pics. If it is virasoothe gel, oatmeal baths, piriton and calpol. The calomine lotion is horrible and dries up and is itchy. Ds1 had them so long ago now that I can't remember how the early rash looks Blush

sassy34264 · 09/07/2012 16:38

mama ive googled! dont think it is chicken pox now Blush

said starts at the head, spreads to trunk.

think its probably nappy related but ive phoned docs just in case. they're like 2 different rashes.

im the same about remembering- chloe had them 9/10 years ago. cant remember anything!

sassy34264 · 09/07/2012 17:52

well feck.

doc says its chicken pox. bloody great.

fx twins dont get them

fuzzy hope the nanning is going great and Sad at s's face.

i have a 4 generation photo of chloe, me, mum and nan. it was took on christmas day and my nan died 4 weeks later. Sad im so glad we took it. it made me ball my eyes out when my mum framed it for me- a sad and happy cry at the same time, iyswim.

MamaMaiasaura · 09/07/2012 18:11

Oh no sassy! Can take a while for the others to get spots but it is very contagious

lookout · 09/07/2012 18:22

sassy i know it sucks, but it's better to get the pox out of the way, no? Far easier when they're small ime, although I only have experience of one.

I've also done a 'sassy' and read everything earlier now I remember nothing. My brain cells are fried!

Mama put it behind you. I had a terrible run in with a mum once at school and it took me a year, a year to get over it Blush. Wish I hadn't wasted so much energy on worrying about something that was noone's fault except hers a bit more than mine Grin And love the image of the three of you in bed with technology. Am actually Envy cos neither of mine keep still in my bed.

E has been so grouchy today. Off to check the WW thing to see where we are.

lovinbeingmum · 09/07/2012 18:54

sassy...all the best.....
