Looking forward to our wedding in oct when we get some us time (dtd uninterrupted time I mean -N has impeccable timing when it comes to waking at the, ahem, crucial moment Grin
He is much better today, more his cheeky little self. Been bf-ing well but v little solids. Just 2 mouthfuls of my yoghurt and a few spoons of apple pudding (thanks for suggestion btw). He's lost weight which I guess is to be expected but he's so small and now skinny. He's back to waking every 2 hr last night, and tonight the same so far, and he is feeding properly each time. I'm not too bothered as he needs to build himself up again, just hope we can progress back to his routine of feeds at 7, 11/12 and 5. Have relegated DP to spare room (not feeling well himself) and got N here with me. Least he doesn't moan about my MNing late at night!!
How are the non-sleepers getting on?
fuzzzy, saw the owl hat on fb. It's awesome!!

MamaMaiasaura · 05/07/2012 23:36

Bedtime now, scheh please come back. I really don't want bad feeling Sad.

Am thinking of E and A tonight and hoping for a miracle. We are all so blessed. Love to you all xxxx

Outnumbered4to1 · 06/07/2012 01:54

Thinking of E and A too, please let there be a miracle Sad

sassy34264 · 06/07/2012 08:23

have i missed something? e and a? bb3's little girls?

FuzzzyDuckosaurus · 06/07/2012 08:41

No sassy, it's expat and her daughter Aillidh. Few threads on chat. She isn't very well and wasent expected to make it through last night. Poor girl Sad. She is in the childrens hospital not far from me. It's so sad

sassy34264 · 06/07/2012 09:14

oh, im glad its not bb3's gorgeous girls, had me looking up bb3 posts to see if she had posted something.

so so sad about her lo though. i dont know how you can read them, i find it too hard. hope she made it through the night.

lookout · 06/07/2012 09:44

sassy miraculously she did. Still stable but critical. I feel so much for her mother and family. It was hard enough watching my brother die at age 24, I cannot begin to imagine what it is like when it is your own young child Sad. But she is proving to be a real fighter.

Another miracle also occurred last night: I had six hours sleep in a row Shock. Not sure how it happened but I am amazed! He only woke once, fed, straight back down and up at 6.30. It is weird to start the day feeling almost human Smile

out how was your night?

FuzzzyDuckosaurus · 06/07/2012 10:25

That's great news look Smile

I have a question, I took S to doc this morning as I noticed a little bit of skin(?) coming down from inside her vagina. Sometimes it sticks right out, other times sits just inside and looks like a little lump. Anyway thought best to have looked at. GP seems to think its a skin tag, fairly common but has referred her to see a pediatric doctor at hospital. Has anyone any experience of this? Seems to fill her whole vagina so thinking of future issues with it. Dr Google says common in babies and you can have removed or they can fall off. She asked if she was itching etc, I mentioned the thrusting on the floor, she says could be connected.

Penelope1980 · 06/07/2012 10:49

fuzzy one of the girls in my coffee group has a daughter with that! Is common from what I understand.

Thanks for everyones nice comments upthread re the earthquake - it wasn't a massive deal as we live in a country with a lot, as long as they aren't too close to cities and no-one dies which was awful when it happened in Christchurch last year. I am more scared of them than I used to be, which is probably a good thing as I have braced all our bookshelves and furniture just in case - would hate them to fall on A. A baby in the christchurch quake was killed by a falling TV and that's given me nightmares.

Sorry all for being a bit in and out recently - work is busy and I am exhausted. I need better strategies for unwinding at the end of a work day and slotting between the two worlds - anyone got any tips?? It's usually fine and the balance is ok but some weeks like this week working is hard.

Penelope1980 · 06/07/2012 11:12

Oh and pebble we leave A all the time as am confident house is baby proof now (not for ages, but when I am moving around the house), although now he crawls I find I often have company when in the bathroom. And yesterday he pulled himself up on me by yanking my baggy trousers and pulled them down. Blush

lovinbeingmum · 06/07/2012 13:06

Had to post this since there's talk about leaving LOs in a room alone while we're working - We have friends visiting for the last two days with their four year old. This morning I was sitting on the mat with R and their little one as she played with him. She very innocently picked up his finger and put it in her mouth. He was making loud hooting calls at her so I thought maybe she was tickling him or something...but would you believe... she was actually biting him!!! It took me about a minute to realize what she was doing before I pulled his finger out with her teeth marks all over!!!! Why am I typing this...

....because I'm still in shock and feeling horrible that I was sitting right there and couldn't protect him
....what in the world was she thinking!!! horrible kid Angry
....would i have been the evil witch from hansel and gretel if I had taken her finger and bitten it to tell her well here you go, that's what it feels like......

lovinbeingmum · 06/07/2012 13:08

and before everyone wonders how evil am I...he had done absolutely nothing to provoke her.....had been smiling at her all along.....

sassy34264 · 06/07/2012 14:38

i dont think you are evil at all lovin very restraint if you ask me. i would have wanted to smack her over the head, if she'd have done that to eva. she knows better at 4! what did her mum say?

lovinbeingmum · 06/07/2012 18:00

can't fault the mum..she walked into the room just as i was removing the finger with shock writ all over my face, and she was as shocked as I was. Sat her down immediately for a talk to and to ask her if she even realized what she had done....

...the problem is we have several friends who have toddler kids and for some reason most of them seem to treat R as if he was a toy trying to pull his arm, poke his eyes, pull his hair or get under his clothes...all kind of weird things...I had started feeling I'm getting over protective...guess I just have weird friends Hmm

..the craziest was a friend who came over with her daughter who literally put her finger in R's eyes before I pulled him away in panic...he started crying with both her attack and my sudden movement (this by the way when he was six months old) and what is my friend's reaction - oh darling you made a boy cry!..and then a giggle!!!

strawberrypenguin · 06/07/2012 18:34

ips glad N is starting to feel better :)

lovin Shock at your friends reaction to eye poking, that's terrible.

Re leaving them on their own, I will leave W while I pop in the kitchen to get a bottle so similar and I leave him with his toys in his room with the baby monitor on (we have a video one) while I have a shower.

Had a horrible couple of night sleep here W up 4 or more times a night and taking 1/2 hour plus crying when going down. We have clearly been spoilt with his great sleeping up till now. I got a bit PFB and took him GP this morning (I thought he might have an ear infection as he's been flapping at his ears a bit and I'm also a bit paranoid about anything to do with his head) GP diagnosed teething! Blush

BB3 · 06/07/2012 20:35

Hey sassy not my girls although it's heartbreaking reading the threads and Facebook I'm thinking of them often but find it a bit too hard to read.

Fuzz not experience of it here but good that they are checking it out and likelihood it will be nothing to worry about. Edie has a weird bum - her cheeks come to an end at the base of her back and then sort of starts again a tiny bit - hard to explain! Like the line stops then starts again. Weird! !

[shocked] at finger biting - you were very restrained I'd have probably lost it.

Hope n is getting better Ipswich

Glad earthquake wasn't to scary for A!

Sorry to anyone I've missed, hope all is ok c

MrsHende · 06/07/2012 21:27

How's K doing BB3?

Hope everyone is well, been reading lots but not posting - I read while feeding at night but too sleepy to post coherently and RL is getting in the way of posting during the day!

strawberry, sorry you're having rubbish sleep - hope you can calpol/use teetha/dentinox or something to give the wee soul a bit of respite...and you too!

Welcome lovin, always nice to have a new friend! I do wonder how many people have followed the thread for a long time just reading - big hello to all of you too!!

LP I leave L in the other room all the time! As long as she's happy and as safe as I can make her then I leave her to it and potter back and forth. Having said that...today she was in the kitchen and I popped to the loo. In the middle of my task(!) I heard a 'donk', then nothing, then a big cry! Poor thing had gone face first from sitting to lying on her front on the carpet! I had a cushion on every side except in front of her. She's totally fine - the dafty needs to learn to crawl so that she can get things that are just out of her arms reach!

Hope everything is going ok with C and the court sassy.

Pene, how long is your journey to and from work? Can you use music/radio to help you turn off from work and relax a bit? I can't remember what it is you do but I know I'm going to find that difficult too when I go back to work.

Lookout, hooray for sleep! i hope you managed to sleep too!!

Mama - Am thinking of E and A tonight and hoping for a miracle. We are all so blessed. Love to you all xxxx Couldn't put it any better xx

MamaMaiasaura · 06/07/2012 23:18

Yes bb3 how is K doing? Dream feed time here and hopefully sleep. Night all x

Outnumbered4to1 · 06/07/2012 23:50

lookout hurray for better nights! Hope tonight is also good. I settled l twice without boob last night and he went between 6 and 2am with no feed - woot! I got 3 hrs, then 2 and 2 so a bit better Smile
