HoneyLovesCake · 01/06/2012 08:41

dsm clean hamster? Confused I'm picturing your hamster lounging in a bubble bath with tiny shower cap minuscule loofah Grin

DeterminedandSpecialMum · 01/06/2012 09:12

Honey Would save me a job if he could do that plus clean his cage too Grin

Kitty5824 · 01/06/2012 09:15

Morning all!

Grin at honey

I'm clean, baby is clean and dressed ready for Granny to take him out later.

Have applied for loan to clear our credit cards and give us some breathing space until I decide what to do workwise (DH's account should look very healthy at lunchtime Wink )

Will now eat some Frosties (other sugary cereals are available) before tackling what is left of a bird (a pigeon possibly) in the conservatory...it looks as though my cats had something of a midnight feast last night

Kitty5824 · 01/06/2012 09:17

Just read that back...I'm going to clean up and dispose of what is left of the bird, not eat it as my initial post may have implied Grin Grin Grin Grin

Rashkakeller · 01/06/2012 09:23

Lol @ Kitty dead bird....yum!

Still feel dog rough, still haven't bought or tried hayfever stuff but reckon it's a viral cold anyway.

Have a babysitting pass today so dp and I are off to see Prometheus at the flicks. Just as well really cos dp's car battery died so he has my car so couldn't go far if I wanted to.

The boy awakes!

OiMissus · 01/06/2012 09:24

Morning all, thanks for the coffee.
Ha ha Kitty - although if you have seen masterchef recently and share this new love for all things offal and pigeon related, you may be able to fix yourself a mid-morning snack. Grin

I have decided to wind down the breastfeeding. It's a shame, but it's bloody painful - as well as awkward - when you're away from home, and I travel a bit with work.
He's OK with a bottle now, and we're introducing food, so BOi will be fine. The added benefit will be that I'll eventually get my body back (psychologically), which should help with improving relations with DH. Plus BOi might start sleeping a bit better, and soon he'll have his own room too - in the new house. At the moment, he's still waking to feed twice in the night (1:30am and 4am or thereabouts).
So it's like we're aiming to move to stage 2. I'll have to seek some advice online on how best to wind down the supply, I want it to be gradual - ish. And don't want to upset BOi. The first thing he does when I pick him up after work is nuzzle his way down to my chest, even if he's just been fed, so that he can bf. I know that it's for comfort. So it needs to be gradual.
But I think it's OK now. I had originally wanted to bf for as long as it felt good. Until he was 1, 18months, or 2 - whatever. But circumstances have meant that it would be better to stop earlier, and I can accept that now. I know that I've done really well - and have been incredibly lucky - to get to 6 months, so it's all good. (And it'll take a while to reduce it/ stop it completely so I may still be doing it for a few months yet.)
Another advantage would be that I may be able to fit into my "old" bras as well. Wouldn't it be great to wear pretty little lacy things rather than thick wads of cotton with breast pads?!
...And he has this terrible habit of flinging himself away to see what's going on elsewhere whenever anyone blinks, and exposing me and a squirty nipple to all and sundry. (As most of you are also experiencing!)
So there!
Hurrah for breast feeding.

OiMissus · 01/06/2012 09:28

BTW everyone in Germany was absolutely gob-smacked that I am back at work full time. (Not everyone, of course, I didn't speak to everyone, just a few people, but you get the jist.) It would appear that this is unheard of. I'm not sure they have nurseries in the back end of beyond for very young children. They were equally gob-smacked that I was still breast feeding. "What?! At 6 months?!" - So I think I must be a terrible mum on one hand, and a crazy mum at the other. Quite odd.
And other there, they seemingly recommend that the baby goes into it's own room at 4 weeks.

DeterminedandSpecialMum · 01/06/2012 09:43

Sky has enjoyed a taste of a mini malted milk biscuit this morning - looked very pleased with herself lol.

Just drinking a cup of tea before the cleaning commences to really make my home sparkle for The Queen of Clean my nan.

HoneyLovesCake · 01/06/2012 09:52

Oi I'm trying not to envy the lacy bras in your future Envy If all goes to plan I shall be BFing for the best part of the next decade Shock I'm thinking of subsequent DCs too not just DS Grin BFing Rocco in the back of car yesterday & every time someone walked past he pulled off to give them a cheesy grin & just to make sure they'd noticed my boob him he'd give them a shout Blush

Plans to go to baby group this afternoon have been scuppered :( apparently the centre is holding a jubilee picnic instead this morning. I can't get there in time & I don't think I would anyway as it's not really picnic weather. So, stay in & clean house, make sausage rolls for street party or go to Garden Centre cafe for cake? Hmm

Morning.

Eva has been under the weather for the last couple of days, not feeding as much and really sleepy. She seems a bit more herself today but teething really badly. DS is complaining that his arm hurts, it's been 3 weeks since he broke it, do I need to be concerned?

Still no chicken house despite 3 separate days when we were told it would definitely be here. I'm waiting for them to phone as there was no one there capable of cancelling the order when we rang to swear at them complain yesterday.

Plan for today is to try to cheer up DS by printing the MN colour in bunting, drink vast quantities of tea and not be driven mad by whingey children.

seven77 · 01/06/2012 11:02

honey how long do you intend to BF rocco for and how many DC's are you planning? Feel free not to answer, I'm just being nosey!

DeterminedandSpecialMum · 01/06/2012 11:41

Seven Where do I find the MN bunting to print?

HoneyLovesCake · 01/06/2012 11:42

Until he decides to stop/is unable to, so could be tomorrow Hmm but could easily be 4 & a half -5 & a half. I'm allowed 3 kids apparently (as OH hates people carriers wants a normal car) but I'd like more :)

DS is only cat napping today >_< think I'll take him out for a long walk & hope he sleeps in the sling.

seven77 · 01/06/2012 11:48

dsm search for colour bunting in the search box at the top.

aethelfleda · 01/06/2012 14:26

honey, dare you to fall pregnant with triplets!......
Or how about going Octo-Mom?

seven77 · 01/06/2012 14:34

Does a mini bus technically class as a people carrier? :o
