Yay Sc00by!

Oh my Bob, black out blinds are FAB! Minimopsy woke up only twice and slept until 7:45. Miracle!

KateM77 · 20/06/2012 09:20

And we're back to total bottle refusal. Sigh.

BJR · 20/06/2012 09:46

Must be lovely to have DH back home Sc00by :)

Sounds like we still have a good spread of sleepers and those who object a little more to a quiet night! DS is getting good at settling well by 7 ish if i have an hour of wind down with him before, then hes out like a light untill around 3ish which is lovely. He wakes fairly frequently after that and is usually up by 6.

Have had a mad rush to baby proof part of the house as his slow lumbering crawl very suddenly became quick over the weekend. Its nice as he was getting very frustrated at not being able to get to things but he is now very pleased with himself and has just spent about 20 minutes chasing a ball round the lounge!

Hope you have a bit more luck on the bottle front today Kate babies are stubbon creatures but i'm sure you'll get there in the end!

LittleMissFlustered · 20/06/2012 10:40

for everyone.

I'm having a manky breakfast in crackdonalds. Just spoke to my doctor about my vile hayfever and he's writing me a script for a triple whammy of stuff to sort it out:o

Kate Hope you have more luck on bottle front today.

BJR Thankfully we've not had to baby proof yet. However, Sky is getting around a lot faster now tho!

Also ordered inflatable musical instruments too :)

Just looking for gifts now. Its all coming together now only 58 days to go Grin

AnAirOfHope · 20/06/2012 14:57

I have been tricked.

Yeasterday i was at baby group and got home to find hv card thru door saying appointment arranged last time but she didnt. Last week i got a letter saying call hv if you want a 6 - 8 month check up.

So i called about the card thru the door and hv said i will see you on the 3rd and put it down as the 6 month checkup.

But i dont want a checkup i want her to fuck off. So now i have this appointment where i want it or not just because the hv turned up unannonced and left a card telling me to call her!

DeterminedandSpecialMum · 20/06/2012 15:36

Air cancel it. You don't have to see the HV.

aethelfleda · 20/06/2012 16:36

It's up to you air, HV is meant to offer an appointment but you aren't obliged to go (unless it's a non standard appointment, they have concerns or something: but they should have said if that was the case). Most areas don't do routine 6-8 month checks any more. Ring em up and say is it really needed as she's fine? And see what they say.

AnAirOfHope · 20/06/2012 18:53

Its the HV that supported the ss referal bue to me bf and cosleeping with Air. Last time i cancelled and told her i got Hope weight at childtens centre she said "i'm not just going to go away".

Because i had PND she thinks there must be something wrong and she is trying to fined it even thou the MHN said im better and a phycolagist assessed Aaron and found nothing wrong with him.

I havent seen the SW since before Christmas.

It just this HV out to prove something Angry

Im going to let her come to prove she is wrong and we are all fine. Busy, stressed and tired but coping just fine.

Then she can say sorry to me and fuck off.

AnAirOfHope · 20/06/2012 18:54

There are loads of others that need and want help why does she have to harrass me.

KateM77 · 20/06/2012 19:18

for HV Air

It's been a pretty crap day here. DS refused both bottles I offered him - just cried and clamped his jaws shut again. I got really upset as after the last few days of him draining them without any coaxing, I'd got my hopes up that I was going to get my life body back. I tried a bit of cold tepid turkey, but iit didn't work and just upset us both. He's now completely out of routine so I've no idea what tonight will be like. Just hope DD sleeps well and doesn't wake too early, because DH is in Munich for the next 2 nights Sad

DS is still refusing the solids too. Is anyone else struggling there still too? He's teething and has a cold so I'll see if there's any improvement when he's over that. Will get him weighed at the start of July, but won't be surprised if he's dropped down percentiles again. Will see if HV has any bright ideas if that's the case (I actually have a lovely HV who gives sensible advice!)

Rashkakeller · 20/06/2012 19:42

Kate I've been giving ds half a rusk with milk for lunch and some fruity porridge for tea. I tried veg and fruit purées with no joy so hope this will get him used to eating before trying them again. Really hope I'm not making a rod for my own back!

Like you, my dd ate loads of different foods straight away so this is all new and extremely frustrating

Ds can now roll over onto his tummy then swivel around - it's amazing how far he can get! He keeps rolling over into things or getting himself squashed against his cot bars much to my amusement

I've been ringing round schools and looking at Ofsted reports today re dd starting in sept 2013. Feel braindead which doesn't bode well for Friday's kit day!!

Ds has fallen asleep on me so going to put him to bed then do a Davina workout - I wear a sports bra over my nursing bra and t shirt so I can partake in the jumping jacks and skipping. What? Of course I don't look like a loonytune!

MissRee · 20/06/2012 20:01

Rash I have to wear sports bra over normal bra under t-shirt to exercise too. It's the only way to keep these monster puppies under control and I still have bounceage Grin

DeterminedandSpecialMum · 20/06/2012 20:20

Air Complain to the powers that be, your HV just won't get the message that you are fine and to leave you alone.

Wedding prep is almost done Grin

aethelfleda · 20/06/2012 20:28

rash and misree, you are brave brave ladies to aerobicise at all! (Rash, are you still BFing at all?) I plan to get right on board with you but not til we are FFing as my bosoms are likely to set up their own standing wave and possibly lead to a tsunami if I leap about in any capacity while still BFing. Honest.

for the HV air, or should that be an ? good luck with your plan, hope it goes OK.

Oh man, Schools.. We hope to move sometime next year and hve to research the local schools so when we get to looking we can check we're looking for places not miles out of cachement. Also need to try and visit a few before they all shut up shop for the summer....arg!!! No time!!

kate, I feel your bottle-refusal pain. If it's any consolation we have similar here except he's never drained even a 3 oz bottle! Continuing the two "tasters" a day here (mid morning and about 6.30). Three bottles were screaming heebie jeebies, thn this evening he giggled and happily slurped just under an ounce, then flailed and refused a drop more. Sigh.
Keep at it hon, they will both play ball eventually I hope!

KateM77 · 20/06/2012 20:45

aethel I think they must be in league. It's amazing how much power such a little person can have over you! I have a new target of the start of August to get him on bottles, because I have a party to go to in Manchester and then Olympics Athletics to go and see. So I guess I'll see how your cold turkey plan goes before then. Fingers crossed it won't come to that with either of them.

I have managed exercise only sporadically, and realistically know I won't manage anything regular whilst I'm BFing, so I've deferred my entry in the triathlon until next year.

Rash I did try going back to basics with baby cereal today, thinking that DS was now used to the taste of Aptamil and might be receptive to it, but it was the same old story. Pulls a face and spits out anything that hits his tongue, and then clamps his mouth shut. I've also tried some finger foods as well as purees. He picks things up and puts them in his mouth, just as he grabs the spoon and shoves it in, but it's only because he wants something to chew on with his teething. As soon as he then tastes anything it comes shooting out again.

LittleMissFlustered · 20/06/2012 20:46

I have hayfever drugs. The eye drops are bliss! Tablet taken and nasal spray next:o

OP posts:
NorthernChinchilla · 20/06/2012 21:06

Glad the drugs do work LMF Grin

I'm amazed your DS is crawling BJR, that's mad! How can they be doing things like that already, we only gave birth a few minutes ago?! No worries about that here, DS has just about mastered sitting up for a while, but to be honest I'm glad as the downstairs is so un-baby friendly we're just going to get a playpen....

Sorry you're having a crap time with that HV air

That sounds very frustrating Kate, refusing bottles and solids. At least with the solids he will get there eventually, but having had a few bottles and then rejecting them is rotten, as you'd gotten your hopes up. However, you will have to prevent the obvious plotting that's going on with aethel's DS, the cunning little efforts that they are Wink.

Always makes me think of 'Pinky and The Brain' anyone else remember that? "..same thing we do every night Pinky, try to take over the world!"

DS had Weetabix today and loved it, so that, toast and yoghurt are the big hits. I've just realised my child eats like a bloody student... oh, and do I have the only baby in the western world who doesn't like banana? He'll eat a bit of veg, not too keen on fruit, but banana is the evil stick of Satan apparently Confused...

Rashkakeller · 20/06/2012 21:23

Cardio boxing and pump done! I love the way Davina falls about dramatically pretending to be knackered so she can show a bit a solidarity to us weebles on the other side of the telly. Bless. This woman does a marathon before breakfast - as opposed to eating one (or equivalent thereof)

Aethel yep, still breastfeeding for the most part. Ds has had about 4 cartons in his lifetime (well actually half a cartons) during babysitting periods because I despise expressing! Will keep it up until my return to work in October then just do morning and night feeds hopefully!

Off to watch Silk...

MissRee · 20/06/2012 21:28

Freya has had the Pear Ella's Kitchen pouch for lunch for the last 3 days (one small pouch lasted 3 days, bargain!) and she's still not sure about it. She doesn't get anywhere near as excited about fruit as she does banana porridge!

I think we will open a Mangoes one tomorrow and see if that makes her face turn inside out too Grin

Milky tsunami's not an issue here Aethel cos my boobs don't work they're just so chuffing big, I don't want black eyes!!!

seven77 · 20/06/2012 22:09

northern Eva tried banana today, it's the only thing I've found that she doesn't like, she even loves swede and cauliflower!

air another for the HV. Just cancel it, the worst thing she can do is make another SS referral. As they've already seen you and were happy she'll just make herself look stupid and you'll have more evidence if you ever need a harassment case against her.

LittleMissFlustered · 20/06/2012 23:53

Routine seems to be out if window tonight, feeling it may be an 'every two' kind of night:(
