missree that rash looks like what Eva gets on her cheeks. No explanation but the HV prescribed me Hydromol cream which cleared it up. Only I stopped using it and it's come back again so I'm wondering if I ought to see my GP. Sorry that wasn't really of any help! Hope Freya avoids measles and that jack is better soon.

tyel your poor DH, that sounds horrendous! Hope he makes a speedy recovery.

aethel for your friend. You're doing an amazing job, how on earth you and others are coping with still being up every couple of hours during the night I've no idea!

DS arm is better! DH went in with him while I held Eva as she was grumpy. He said you can still see where it was broken but theres new bone either side. Anyway he's de-cast and had a bath for the first time in 5 weeks. And I cried when he gave Eva a big two-armed cuddle and said he's missed cuddling her :(

seven77 · 15/06/2012 20:39

Sorry my mum turned up mid-post so it took ages!

missree what a relief!

mopsy hope you're all on the mend soon.

Now that I have more time the zoo was excellent, we got to feed the giraffes which DS really loved! Also I fed an elephant but DS wimped out and it was gross having an elephant snot hand. MIL was awful on Wednesday for DS barbecue. She hurried off before we'd had the cake which I'd still been making at 11pm on Tuesday, because she had to go and cook 41yo BILs tea Angry. DH told her how displeased we were on the phone earlier and said how much effort I'd put into it and that she didn't even see it, she said these things happen.

MissRee · 15/06/2012 20:45

We love freya's pink heart muslins, they're from the place that shan't be named Mothercare!

Seven they seem better after I put some sudocrem on it this afternoon so I think it's just dribble rash. She's had some icky nappies too so its probably teething.

Thank you again Aethel, if we do another south east meet, I'll have to buy you coffee and cake as a thank you for all the advice you've given me Grin

KateM77 · 15/06/2012 21:39

I think we all owe aethel coffee and cake!

YBR · 15/06/2012 22:07

Just a quick run-through:
I've now done a full proper working week, and though it means less time with LO, it sure is easier than DH's "job" of looking after her all day. I've had a couple of late nights so I feel knackered. (but not nearly as knackered as those of you still night-shifting).
BabyYBR has a tooth teeth now breaking through, and is spectacularly messy at meal times. If it were any warmer I'd consider stripping her down to her nappy to save 3 changes of clothes a day.

It's Open Garden here tomorrow so I've been trying to get as much ready as possible. Typically it looks like being rained off after all my and DH's, hard work.

NorthernChinchilla · 15/06/2012 22:25

Gosh, that's a good memory Rashka, it was my DP! It's being a far better visit this time round, despite my Mum having had a fall and being even more disabled than she usually is (which is pretty bad). I love her dearly and am more than happy to do it, but it does mean that every break I have involves a massive journey up North and caring for my Mum. However, DS is with DP tonight, so I had a huge afternoon nap, two ciders in front of the footie and will sleeeeeeeeeep.

How on earth are you coping Bee, that would finish me off?! You and your DCs are obviously made of stronger stuff....

So glad Freya's not ill MissRee, and that your DP's going to get better tyel, and that your DS's arm is on the mend seven., and I know kate and mopsy I think are still not well... you know, we should have a bet on which day this year that none of us, our partners or our children will be ill... next thread title should warn other MN users to stay away lest we give them something...

Off for my early night, whoooooop!

Xiaoxiong · 16/06/2012 01:58

Bleurgh. Def a tooth coming I think. P has gone bananas every hour on the hour. Calpol and a teething powder now - fingers xxxxx

LittleMissFlustered · 16/06/2012 02:01

I just twanged all the little muscles in my right foot. There may have been a hushed but vehement sweary moment >_<

Hope everyone is fast asleep:)

LittleMissFlustered · 16/06/2012 02:03

Cross posts Tyel :( I hope the drugs do work, contrary to Richard Ashcroft's thoughts on the matter:)

Xiaoxiong · 16/06/2012 02:07

Phew blessed silence, finally. Dunno what's in that teetha stuff but it's magic. It was one of you lot told me about them (DSM?) and I am in your debt forever.

Right, back to sleep (till morning? Dare to dream....)

Xiaoxiong · 16/06/2012 02:12

Thanks LMF - ow, hope your foot is ok! Will have to google RA in the morning to get your joke as brain too foggy to remember who he is just now...zzzzzz

aethelfleda · 16/06/2012 02:40

Ooh, ooh, I know that one, me! It's a song by 90's Brit band The Verve, titled " The Drugs Don't Work".. Mr Ashcroft was their lead sInger. Very tall lanky Northern chap if ai remember corrrctly (?Sheffieldish maybe)
I used to have that album on cassette tape, how trendy was I...

And woohoo, am enjoying the first night in a month DS has made it past 2pm for his first night feed shame I didn't make it to bed til 10 but DH has ptomised me a mini lie in tomorrow, yay!!

And I'm late to the party tyel but just wanted to say huuge sympathy for your DH tyel, cryptosporidium is awful stuff and really draining. Hope also that he's been a little more supportive generally since your trip away.

DeterminedandSpecialMum · 16/06/2012 07:45

Tyel It was me - glad they help you as they help us here.

Seven Good to see DS had a good BBQ& trip to Zoo.

Hope everyone feels better soon.

It was a long night here. Was up every hour on the hour. DP took over at 5:30 so I could get a couple of hrs sleep.

So when's the next south coast meet up?

hawthers · 16/06/2012 08:43

Both boys are still asleep Shock :)

aethelfleda · 16/06/2012 09:29

for Hawthers' two, enjoy the peace!

, brIng your own mug. mine's a large picture mug of the local woods I took last year and if you look very closely in the middle there are three little stick people on a bench (the DDs and DH). Importantly it holds a LOT of tea/coffee.

KateM77 · 16/06/2012 12:32

Thanks for the well wishes ladies. I'm now feeling a lot more human but have passed on the poorly baton to both DC's who have colds. Probably wasn't the best day to try a bottle again on an already grumpy DS. Total fail.

DS is 6 months today. DD keeps singing 'happy birthday to half Daniel'

Welcome back tyel I can't believe the bad luck you've been having this last 6 months. Hope DH is much better soon.

DeterminedandSpecialMum · 16/06/2012 13:38

Need a sleep or caffeine to stay awake! Sad

LittleMissFlustered · 16/06/2012 15:14

I'm mainlining coffee as octoboy doesn't sleep much past three thirty at the minute.

DeterminedandSpecialMum · 16/06/2012 15:16

Yeah caffeine is the way to go!

AnAirOfHope · 16/06/2012 15:54

i have just made rice krispy cakes and now hope screaming teething. Hate the rain. Need sleep

cant think stright.

AnAirOfHope · 16/06/2012 16:09

ok baby now attached to boob.

This week i have moved furntiture sorted out old clothes put clothes away in new place food shoping took both kids swimming to air to school and get the patio door lock repaired and seen financial advicer.

Still to do take rubbish to tip but its rain, lower cot put playpen up get clips for fireguard make dinner take old clothes to clothes bank and feed Hope.

Today she has had toast and then mango for lunch and its might be chiken tonight!

Im so tired and fed up now and bored. Im also dreading having air home for six weeks. The good news is he is in our first choice of school that is just 3 mins away and is OFSted outstanding. He has also made friends alread with the settelingin sessions.

The bad news is that Hope is now the wriggaly baby in the world and is so strong that holding her nappy changes and dressing is a nightmare and take 3 times as long.

MissRee · 16/06/2012 16:29

Urgh. I splurged on a new pair of jeans as when I go back to work, it will be summer "dress down" so decent jeans are a must. I got them home and they stink of singed hair! I've washed them twice now and I still can't get rid of the smell Hmm

aethelfleda · 16/06/2012 20:11

Jeans that smell of hair misree? That's just weird:
Do you think someone wore them and then returned them? (I've heard how people buy pricey clothes, leave the tags on, go out and then take them Back as a cheeky "free rental" type scam.)

Great that A is enjoying school settle-in Air, and even better that it's close by for you. I'm quite grateful that DS hasn't become truly wriggly yet, it does make changes simpler, though he's starting to arch himself sideways which is the first step towards crazy nappychange escape routines......

MissRee · 16/06/2012 20:58

They smell of singed hair so I think it might be to do with manufacturing rather than wear iykwim? Its such a strong smell though! I wore them today and it's ALL I can smell!!! Yuk! Will try febreezing and rewashing them again I think.

mopsytop · 16/06/2012 21:11

Hi all, thanks for the well wishes. Will try to catch up properly soonbug just to say after three days of d&v for me and minim and ALL of her clothes/most of the furniture having been covered in vomit (and poo too for her clothes), we both seem to have finally stopped vomiting... Fingers crossed, hope I haven't jinxed it by saying that Hmm

Just got up for a bit and managed to eat some food and keep in down, major progress. Off to sleep again now, minim is asleep in the cot beside me and we even got a few smiles and a laugh earlier. She's been fab even though obviously in so much discomfort. Such a lovely baba. Thank bob for MrMopsy though, once again major major hats off to single mums lmf, you must be wonder woman!
