(p.s. I made it to the bathroom to vomit, the clothes/furniture/floor etc were all minimopsy-it's quote extraordinary how far and how very very much a small baby can projectile!!)

LittleMissFlustered · 16/06/2012 21:30

D&V sucks no matter what your status. When I wasn't single I had to do it on my own too, as my then partner couldn't deal with vomit without doubling the clear up:o >_<

Hope everyone is having a reasonable weekend. Octoboy is currently singing his tired song, we're quite behind the schedule tonight and he's no amused. I'm away to torture him give him his inhaler and feed him then bed for us. His siblings are already comatose in their pits and next door is quiet for a change:)

mopsy poor you and minimopsy! Glad youre both on the mend now.

We had an unofficial offer on the flat from an old friend of DH's. It's 5k below what we said we could afford, but I spoke to my dad who said don't worry about the extra 5 if we think it's the best offer we're going to get for it. He's a pilot though and he's now out of the country, he said he'll phone DH when he gets back to discuss it.

We're currently playing million pound drop and having a bottle of red. Hope everyone is having a good weekend!

Coffee for me please!! Dreadful night. Minim was up crying from 10:30, properly crying, every half hr or so. Had to keep cuddling her, settling her, eventually she would drop off only to wake and start crying again 30 minutes later. Then around 4:30 she woke up properly. Took her into the bed with us but eventually gave up around 5:45. Didn't sleep after 4:30 anyway. I am exhausted. My husband has done so much the past few days and is so tired, I let him sleep but I am exhausted - wanted to get on with my chapter today if was feeling better but think I'll have to go for a sleep when husband gets up first or I won't be able to write anything coherent...

Also, although the v seems to have stopped, the d hasn't which added to my interrupted night. Nightmare more like!! Hope you ladies did better than me, although it seems aethel and lm, you've also had a trying night...

mopsytop · 17/06/2012 07:52

seven, hope you can accept the offer, at least then it would be out of your hair and you could move on...

DeterminedandSpecialMum · 17/06/2012 08:25

Seven Hoping accepting the offer won't put to much of a strain on you.

Mopsy hopefully you can get some sleep and feel better soon.

DP done the night shift last night so I could get some sleep as I was exhausted yesterday after being up the night before!
Think Sky was being crafty tho as didn't want a feed at night just wanted cuddles and to sleep with us Hmm can't get her to used to that!

Going to collect our wedding rings today and then over my mums for a yummy roast to celebrate fathers day.

aethelfleda · 17/06/2012 09:26

Oh, poor mopsy, lots of sympathy. We actually weren't too bad last night, wakeups at 12, 3, and 5, and DH gave me a lie in by taking DS at 6. It's the unpredictability that's the worst. (the d part you've got often dos take longer to clear but in most people it's much better by day 7. If not, ring your GP for a stool sample in case it's one of the very small percentage of bacterial causes that needs antibiotics)

seven, maybe it is worth the short term cash loss to get the stress gone? Good luck with the decision.

OiMissus · 17/06/2012 09:35

Morning all, sounds like I've got some catching up to do- am on my phone now, nut will try and do a laptop re-read soon. tyel back? Welcome!
And Richard Ashcroft is my claim to fame. He's from Wigan. But I met him in Hamburg. I was living there for 6 mths of my year abroad from uni, we went to see a little known band called "verve" in a small gig venue ( the "The" came later). after the gig we had a drink with the band, and mr Ashcroft asked me if he could score some drugs from me. I was unable to assist.
For ages I thought he was singing about the trucks not working.
Maybe the trucks were messing with my hearing!
BOi has grown lots in the 3 days I've been away. And he's almost crawling. He's used to his bottles now too, after he'd fed lots from me this morning he still wanted more, so I got him some formula. He took another 4 - 5 oz in a bottle from me. This is good news for winding down the breast feeding.Smile
Have been loving lots of cuddles since i got back. He's seemingly super snuggly.
Aw! He was all smiles and excited to see me when I arrived home. And when I cuddled him, he was putting his hands all over my face. There may have been a few tears. ( mine!)
Happy fathers day to all the DH's and DP's!

AnAirOfHope · 17/06/2012 11:03

gerrrr husband called me a"fucking joke" cos i didnt answer the phone as i know it was his mum and i know she would not want to talk to me. He then answered it, it was his mum (we have caller id) and she didnt want to take to me she wanted husdand to say happy fathers day to fil and ask if son was going to dinner.

Im not taking to my twat of a husband now Angry

AnAirOfHope · 17/06/2012 11:05

talk not take (but i wish someone would take him away)

KateM77 · 17/06/2012 12:54

Sympathy to mopsy and minim. Really hope all better and sleeping lots soon.

I am in shock. DS drained a 5oz bottle earlier. It seems a slow flow teat and relatively warm milk are the winning combination at the moment. Let's hope it continues.

DH loved his cufflinks. I'm so pleased.

Haddocks for Mr air

Welcome home oi

BeeMyBaby · 17/06/2012 15:17

keep forgetting its fathers day, anyone do anything special for their dps?

DeterminedandSpecialMum · 17/06/2012 15:30

Well Sky has decided that she wants to do BLW! Not impressed with spoon feeding in the slightest, wants to feed herself which is fine with me Smile

AnAirOfHope · 17/06/2012 16:46

Hope is allergic to egg or milk or both. We have just got back from walking centre with piriton :(

She had a tiny bit of scrambled egg off my plate and came up in hives all over her face and a red rach and lips and toung red and itchy :(

I have to take her to gp tomoro to see about weaning and testing.

Bugger :(

Also mr Air has said sorry to me. I cooked him breakfast and he took the burnt toast to feed the ducks with Aaron :)

seven77 · 17/06/2012 18:17

oi you must be so glad to be home. My claim to fame is that my (deceased) Grandmas cousin is Nigel Mansell, I've never met him though.

air in all fairness I wouldn't have answered either. I hope that Hope is ok and that you get to the bottom of her allergies. Eva still hasn't tried eggs.

Good work on the bottles oi and kate, DS will crack soon aethel.

I suspect Eva may be lactose intolerant after all. She's been super-clingy and crying when I put her down, even DH hasn't usually been good enough lately. I put it down to teething but I suddenly realised it coincided with me upping the amount of normal formula she has. I tried going back to just LF today and she's been so much happier. I'm thinking about doing half and half again tomorrow to see how she is. She seemed fine just having a little lactose in cereal and jars though, is it possible shd could tolerate some but just not be able to drink normal milk?

MissRee · 17/06/2012 19:05

Jack has got slap cheek! Been backwards and forwards to the minor injuries and out of hours docs today after he got worse and worse and finally got a diagnosis. Just hope Freya doesn't get it now. Poor jack is beetroot and radiating heat Sad

DeterminedandSpecialMum · 17/06/2012 19:32

Seven Hope Eva is okay and grows out of being Lactose Intolerant.

MissRee Hope Jack is better soon and Freya doesn't catch it.

Well home after an eventful day. Feel v.tired Sad

AnAirOfHope · 17/06/2012 20:12

Hope Jack feels better soo.

I think Hope may be the same as Eva because i used simeskimmed milk in with the eggs but she is fine with the yogut in the babyfood.

NorthernChinchilla · 17/06/2012 22:21

Home.

Quite shattered.

Have made up the cookies for DP and DS's last post natal group party thing tomorrow.

Football Wine and bed.

Catch up tomorrow..

aethelfleda · 17/06/2012 22:24

Sympathy for those with rashes, ill DCs and not enough rest!

(air, it will probably be the egg as milk intolerances/allergies don't usually cause hives, more eczema, unsettledness and vomiting. Egg, strawberries, kiwi and banana are often culprits when it comes to hives. Good idea to see your GP to discuss.)

aethelfleda · 18/06/2012 09:16

Wow, hope everybody slept !! Good night for us: DS slept from 8-3!!!

On the other hand he's started chomping at the end of feeds

have agreed with DH to continue twice daily bottle offers and if he's not taking them well by the start of July it's cold turkey time :(

. one shot or two girls?

OiMissus · 18/06/2012 09:18

Hope you're feeling better mopsy and minim, and anyone else, and any other poorly babies, and allergy sufferers.
I started to try and read back the last few pages but I really need to get some work done. I got as far as cryptosporidium and clapping. Well done for the clapping baby tyel! BOi is nowhere near clapping. He likes it when I clap. That's as far as it gets.
He has a bruised chin. He gets up on all fours to crawl, and then isn't too sure what comes next, knows (now!) that it should be forwards, and so launches himself chin or nose first... Either that, or he decides that upwards is the way. So he tries to get up off his knees and onto his feet. His arms are not THAT strong, or rather his balance isn't that good, so he may have toppled that way. It was not my fault, I was in Canada.
I need to get everything at work sorted today, including any house solicitor stuff, then I'll take tomorrow off to get the removals people in to give us a quote and I'll start packing the house up while BOi is at nursery. We go down to Somerset on Weds - Sun, but the house purchase may complete on Friday. So we might move on Wednesday, if DH takes the day off. And I'll take Thursday and Friday off to unpack and get straight. Then we'll be all sorted in our new house.
Grin
The 3 days away have seemingly reduced my supply quite a lot. Yesterday, I didn't bf BOI until the evening, and tried to stick to formula. I didn't get swollen at all. I haven't even nrought my pumop to work with me today. Operation "reclaim the boobs" seems to be going well. :( or did I mean :)
Rightio, to work!

OiMissus · 18/06/2012 09:22

"nrought my pumop" ? Maybe an expresso here, please. Is there a muffin to go with that?
aethel - I was at the receiving end of a couple of very nasty chomps yesterday evening. OUCH indeed! Not pleasant!
