Tried to post on the original thread and my post got rejected as its full! Have copied and pasted below....

Congrats on the job offer ttl...hope the other one comes up trumps for you too.

Dd isn't quite crawling yet, but would very much like to. She is the queen of the Klingons at the moment, and has a meltdown the second I put her down, look in the opposite direction, or if someone else so much as looks at her. Not all the time thankfully, but definitely for part of every day.

On the bf thing, it's so personal.....I've just dropped doing the afternoon feed myself be cause dd is so distractible that she bobs on and off, which I don't like around other people, and now she finally has teeth the constant latch on/off was really hurting. I just bf once a day, our morning snuggle when she's nice and calm. I would be sad to give that one up just yet.

I've only used those walkers at the baby and toddler group, so have never seen one with proper working batteries. V-Tech is evil. One of my sisters sent DD a V-tech steering wheel toy. I put hid it in the cupboard after 10 mins and am going to put it on ebay when I get around to it. As for toys randomly going off in the middle of the night, there is nothing worse!

Also not ignoring the going back to work worries, I just have no advise having not been through it. I think we're damned if we do and damned if we don't.

Would someone please explain to DD that she is 13 months, not years and to there fore stop being so willful?!

nickelcognito · 18/08/2012 13:05

we went to the doc's last night about the eczema - the latest cream, Cetraben is working, but she doesn't stop scratching. so he's referring us to a dermatologist to see if they can help with the scratching - it'll be things like wraps for her arms and legs that seal in the cream and stop the itching. or something.

vallinnapod · 18/08/2012 17:01

Thanks guys - I can rationalise work but it doesn't make it any better!

Nickel poor DD :( I really, really sympathise.

vallinnapod · 18/08/2012 17:02

PS - just give up and bought a Maclaren...I soooo thought I could make the Uppababy our only pushchair but 'test drove' in John Lewis and they are soooooo much easier.

Never had DS forward facing. I don't think I will use it all the time as I will miss our random chats!

FeijoaVodkaPlease · 18/08/2012 19:00

Sitting here very still and quietly so as not to wake up DD who will now only go to sleep in DH's arms, as booby juice is no longer sleepy juice.

Could the scratching be habit now Nickel? It's so hard watching them constantly do things to themselves that we know hurts them.

vallinnapod · 18/08/2012 19:33

LOL FVP

Guys - advice needed. Over the past 3-4 days DS has been having the foulest nappies. 3-6 A DAY. All full of crap, all having oozed out the side and over his bed. Each nappy is an outfit ruiner and every other one requires him to be hosed down in the bath. He was never a poonami baby, even the BM poos stayed contained. He has had one on bed or at nap time 5 or 6 times over the past few days which has gone everywhere.

I guess it could be teeth but they are not those horrible mucousy nappies. I was also wondering if it may be a duff batch of nappies (pampers active fit).

Any experience? Rather Blush but on Thursday I actually burst into tears at the prospect of yet another total clean up :(

CuriosityCola · 22/08/2012 07:45

How are things now Val? I can commiserate on the poo explosion front as Ds has had a tummy bug for a couple of days recently. Was horrible. He has now decided the best place to poo is in the bath Hmm. Gross! Is your ds eating differently. I think sometimes teething causes fussy eating and then weird nappies.

Very sleep deprived here as dh is away until Friday. Ds now fully bottle fed and 'sleeping' in his cot. Normally just wakes a couple of times, but last night woke 7 times.

Eskarina · 25/08/2012 08:25

How did the rest of the week go cc? Hope DS decided to sleep a bit better and that DH gives you a bit of a rest when he's back.

We will have 1 year olds tomorrow!!! I think if I ignore it it won't be true? Not that I can ignore a family BBQ and overexcited grandparents! I still have a cake to make and the shopping to do, then dd's godparents are coming for the afternoon. Oh, and we're trying to sell our house so I somehow need to keep it looking spotless with 4 adults, 3 children (inc 2 mobile babies/toddlers) a cat and a mad dog!

We had dd's 1 year health check yesterday. HV seemed happy with everything except dd's legs - apparently she has an extra crease in one leg and her legs are very slightly different lengths - well, that's what she thinks, can't say I agree, dd was getting too cross with this woman pulling her legs to cooperate any longer.

Hope you have a fab day with DS tomorrow cc. Happy birthday little man!

Happy birthday to babyesk for tomorrow!

The rest of the week wasn't too bad esk. Dh has been lovely since his return. I managed to lie in until 8am this morning...bliss!

I'm sure a further appointment will show everything is fine with dd's leg. Your instincts are probably right.

I feel a little overwhelmed at ds turning one. Where has the time gone? It really doesn't seem that long ago I was choosing which conception thread looked the best Grin Speaking of which, dh and I are not going to use contraception and let nature take its course. I have gone from not wanting another to being exceptionally broody.

Nickel how are things with you? Any progress on finding something to relieve dd's skin?

FeijoaVodkaPlease · 25/08/2012 16:44

Happy Birthday Babies xxx

nickelcognito · 25/08/2012 17:05

one year olds!! Shock

happy Birthday to you all Grin

nothing seems top work - the latest thing we have is Cetraben, which when we went to the gp's last, seemed to be working, but she's been horribly hot all this week and really cry-y. (and skin just looks soooo dry)
so i think t might be heat rash too.
the anti-histamine has almost gone and i'm worried that it is helping (after telling gp it didn't seem to make a difference)

he's still referring us to the specialist.

CuriosityCola · 26/08/2012 10:50

I would just try and see the specialist anyway.

Eek...my baby is one today! I'm very emotional.

Eskarina · 26/08/2012 20:11

Hope DS, you and DH had a fab day today cc. Dd has been completely spoilt!

CuriosityCola · 26/08/2012 21:33

Hope you guys had a great day too Esk. Ds's small get together was actually quite large and manic. We all had a blast though. Ds was thoroughly spoiled. Smile

CuriosityCola · 26/08/2012 21:34

Spoiled?! Haha

CuriosityCola · 26/08/2012 21:37

Btw, we made a birthday message using this:

www.babytv.com/

Ds and his wee cousins loved it. He may be on a screen near you soon Wink

Dh and I are now discussing the word spoiled. I think it looks wrong and he says it's fine.

CuriosityCola · 29/08/2012 05:50

Have I killed the thread?Blush

might just ramble on about my lack of sleep anyway

FeijoaVodkaPlease · 29/08/2012 10:28

Nope thread not killed. Mush brain making coherent conversation difficult the last couple of days.

Pleased to hear that Mini-CC and Mini-Esk had lovely birthdays. xx

nickelcognito · 29/08/2012 11:59

lack of sleep?! Shock

don't talk to me about lack of sleep!

on monday, DD had a nap of about 20 minutes. i think. it might have been less. (when we went out in the car. she'd woken when we got home)
she went to bed on monday evening and didn't sleep a wink until about 6 o'clock tuesday morning.
then she didn't have a single nap on tuesday. apart from when she fell asleep feeding which lasted 5-10 minutes.
last night she slept from 11ish to 3 ish.
then was wide awake until 7ish.
and slept for about an hour before we got up.

FeijoaVodkaPlease · 29/08/2012 15:18

Oh, ow Nickel! What's up with mini-Nickel to be not sleeping? Growing perhaps?

My sleep devrivation isn't terribley bad if I'm honest. DD is just very inconsistent with it, so some nights i get plenty of sleep, then we have a couple of nights of pants sleep, so I'm stuck in a vicious cycle of being exhausted, recovering, feeling fine, back to exhausted again. Still DS has had his first day at his new nursery today and that will help as I get a break from his boundless energy for a couple of hours. (even better, I sent DH off with DD to pick him up and I have managed to get some BLW 'nana .muffins in the oven. - I'll share them round once they're done)

nickelcognito · 29/08/2012 15:40

i don't know! she just doesn't like to sleep!
She hasn't slept today yet, either.
fell asleep on the boob, or so I thought. she literally woke up as soon as i reached for my pad to put myself away.
Hmm

CuriosityCola · 29/08/2012 19:36

Nickel I feel your pain Sad. I had the neighbour from below complain this morning. They had been woken at half 5 by noise and what sounded like a baby crawling about. Yes, that is because he was up and rampaging about at that time. This is the second time they have been woken early. I could barely stop myself from saying the sound proofing is better than you think or you would have complained ages ago! I apologised, but don't know what I can do really?

Now I want banana muffins. I keep going to make them, but the bananas never last in the fruit bowl long enough.

Fingers crossed for more sleep for you tonight Nickel

vallinnapod · 29/08/2012 20:26

Sorry, this dropped off my active list!

Firstly - HAPPY BIRTHDAY BABIES!! I am in so much denial about our big day on Friday! Makes me want to cry thinking about where this year has gone. I miss the newborn stage sooooooo much. Still, back to the baby factory in a couple of months for us, so fingers crossed!

All calmer on the poo front - thank god Grin

Hope the sleep deprivation has eased CC, DS been a bit high temperature and unsettled so has had a couple of mad nights. Odd how hard it is to cope when you are used to a month and a half of unbroken nights! Shock at your neighbour...glad the ones next to me have much louder kids too (the other side is a deaf 90 year old!)!

Esk trust your instincts and try not to worry about DD's leg - way easier said than done.

Right, I need to tidy the house, wrap pressies and make a cake! DH is on balloon duty tomorrow eveing as my NCT group are having a dinner to celebrate a year of not killing our babies mummy-hood!

CuriosityCola · 29/08/2012 21:32

Val we could be conception buddies again Grin. It's been a while since we had any shag capes flying!

Good luck for Friday. Our babies are getting way to grown up

vallinnapod · 29/08/2012 22:34

LOL CC - I just get to go about it the boring way! Will be defrosting my little embryos towards the end of the year (DH gets a bonus in November which funds potential DC2). Have shagged a handful of times with wild abandon since DS's birth but no ERTD so am guessing my hormones are still fecked. Am seeing a gynae at the mo (NHS one, before heading back the the fertility blackhole money pit clinic) - next appointment in October.

Birthday cake just baked with a handful of my tears...was not this emotional before DS Blush
