Tried to post on the original thread and my post got rejected as its full! Have copied and pasted below....

Congrats on the job offer ttl...hope the other one comes up trumps for you too.

Dd isn't quite crawling yet, but would very much like to. She is the queen of the Klingons at the moment, and has a meltdown the second I put her down, look in the opposite direction, or if someone else so much as looks at her. Not all the time thankfully, but definitely for part of every day.

On the bf thing, it's so personal.....I've just dropped doing the afternoon feed myself be cause dd is so distractible that she bobs on and off, which I don't like around other people, and now she finally has teeth the constant latch on/off was really hurting. I just bf once a day, our morning snuggle when she's nice and calm. I would be sad to give that one up just yet.

Omg Nickel, glad she is ok. Think you deserve a nice cup of tea after that shock.

CuriosityCola · 14/09/2012 05:50

Ds isn't sleeping past half 4 / 5am. I need to sleep. How can a child of mine think that sleep is for wimps.

nickelcognito · 14/09/2012 10:54
Grin

DD doesn't go to bed until we do... Wink

she was still asleep this morning when I had to force her to wake (1/4 past 9)

CuriosityCola · 14/09/2012 18:54

I'm not jealous of your lie in, nope, not one bit! Grin

Had a great day with ds at the museum today. He was toddling all over the place, very cute Smile

Got my mil visiting me tomorrow, despite saying no and dh being away Really need to try and meet away from the house.

FeijoaVodkaPlease · 18/09/2012 22:06

How is everyone this week?

We're going away for the weekend and I'm getting that feeling that A is going to cut another tooth while we are away. SIGH!

nickeldaisical · 19/09/2012 11:12

DD managed to pick up a cold on our weekend away.
and now i've got it.

I still have to be at work, so we're both here, she's moaning because she's poorly and I'm not coping because I'm poorly. :(

I feel tired and she won't just accept a cuddle.
when I BF her, she pulls and pummels and scratches because she can't breathe through her nose, and I haven't got the brain power or energy to cope with it.

vallinnapod · 25/09/2012 19:18

Hi ladies, sorry, dropped off my active conversations and I lost you briefly.

Nickel I hope you are OK. I swear, there is nothing worse than trying to look after a poorly baby when you are poorly. I have had to do it twice now. In fact the first time the in laws relieved me one afternoon as I felt so hideous I couldn't bear to be touched, DS wailed when left/picked up and I thought neither of us would survive the day.

FVP hope the tooth appeared with no pain (is there such a thing now??). I was so smug with DS's first 8 teeth as he was fine. He has now been teething his molars for over two months. We have definitely molar shapes under the gums now but nothing cut though. Vile nappies, snotty nose, drool, temperature and general unhappiness continues :(

In fact he was meant to have his next immunisations yesterday but couldn't as had a temp of 37.6 :( I had completely psyched myself up for them! Back on Friday fingers crossed. Although nursery called today to give him Calpol as he had a temp there and has had one just before I put him to bed. Cold arms/legs and goose bumps in the bath but a warm head :(

Lots of blue faces here!

He has also been having night terrors, we think. Hideous crying that cannot be comforted. We pick him up and it makes no difference. I try and cuddle him and he scratches, bites and pulls away. I then put him back down (normally after an hour) and he goes back to sleep immediately, albeit whimpering. It's horrible.

vallinnapod · 28/09/2012 20:42

Hey Virioids,

Horrid day here. My last day of mat leave...had a Mama/DS day of fun planned. He has an ear infection but has been fine from about 5 mins after he got antibiotics.

He woke up after his nap with a raging temp, vomited the small amount of brekkie he had had. I washed him and put him back down. Woke up and vommed up the calpol I gave him. Was floppy and unresponsive. Was really close to heading to A&E when he started to perk up a little. Spent the day asleep on my chest like a newborn. Woke up about 4 seeming a little better. I sat him down and he ate a whole round of sarnie and a wheetabix with fruit Shock an spent the rest of the day as if nothing had happened. Bizarre.

On a completely separate note, any tips for a good winter hat/mittens for DS? He hates hats and I imagine trying to keep his hands warm will be equally impossible. I will inevitably just give up eventually but feel I need to make an effort to begin with.

nickeldaisical · 29/09/2012 12:27

She's okay now, thanks val - i'm still a bit meh, but better than i was.

nickeldaisical · 29/09/2012 12:36

i think it had dropped of my actives too.

sorry to hear about teething pains - DD will be having molars next - i just don't understand how they cut through because they're so big! Shock
fingers crossed ours won't be for a while yet

sorry to hear you've finished maternity leave, too :(
and for him to be poorly makes it worse, doesn't it! like he really needs you but you can't be there :(

FeijoaVodkaPlease · 29/09/2012 20:22

Sorry to hear about poorly babies. Hope they are all back to normal quickly x

DD kindly cut her tooth a few days before we went away so we only had to worry about crap accommodation and flooded train tracks. Besides that I had a great weekend. It was amazing being in a big proper city again. Made my brain feel alive. That said, it was nice to come home again too Grin. I even met MN ladies! (from my due in antenatal group, sadly it was to far for TTL to come).

Molars cut through front edge the back edge if I remember correctly. They are an utter utter nightmare :(

Hope everyone has a lovely weekend xx

CuriosityCola · 02/10/2012 22:12

Val, hope being back it work is going ok?

I have ordered a hat from a little baby boutique in Corstorphine (sold out). There is a little old lady that knits them from a 1950's pattern for about £15. Quite expensive, but the knit was beautiful and the only hat ds never managed to pull off last winter. Plus the knit has some stretch so will last ages. I have also seen some that had an under the chin strap, but can't remember where. Hopefully will come back to me. My next purchase for ds is a waterproof all in one suit. If its not raining we are going to the park regardless Grin. Sick of being stuck indoors or worrying his trousers will get ruined on wet grass.

Fvp, that is great that you met up with everyone. Had you met before? Were people how you imagined them to be?

Eskarina · 06/10/2012 13:08

Hi all, sorry for being out of touch for such a long time. Work is a little all-consuming, even doing (supposed) half days. But it's going well, DD loves her childminder (screamed every morning til I left for the first week and we haven't looked back since)
We're all doing well, moving house soon which is half exciting, half terrifying - I can't keep the house tidy never mind get my head around packing everything we own up.
DD is definitely a walker now, very definitely, to the point of trying to refuse to go in the buggy. She goes completely rigid and I have to put the seat in the lie-flat position to get her in then sit her up again later, then she shouts until I let her out. Of course for DH or the CM she sits in meekly and looks about calmly.
I'm also in search of a puddle-jumper type suit for DD. We've been given any number of pristine hand-me-down pretty pink coats but nothing practical like that. I suspect this reveals which is actually useful! She has some adorable wellies which look like ladybirds. I've also had to put her in proper PJ's rather than babygros at night - her body is too long and legs too short to go in sleepsuits.

Anyway, supposed to be working but completing a classes' worth of assessment sheets is soooo boring!

FeijoaVodkaPlease · 07/10/2012 15:21

I wish you had asked about puddle jumper suits (great term!) a few days back Esk as Hippychick had a 48 hours sale and I managed to get DD a suit and DS waterproof trousers (after they both fell in large puddles at the park within 30 seconds of each other). Good luck with the house move.

CC most of my Due in June ('11) antenatal group absconded to a secret fb group just after all our babies were born, so I've seen plenty of pics and know everyone's real names, so it wasn't to weird or scary. The girls I met were all lovely (as I imagine all you the viroids are).

How are you and DD now Nickel?

CuriosityCola · 07/10/2012 19:48

Esk, where did you get the wellies? I am struggling to find wellies in ds size. I want little froggies Grin

Ended up shelling out £25 for a puddle jumper suit from trespass (no fleece lining). Mothercare has already had them in, had a sale (£12.50) and now doesn't have his size. Think there was lots of girls ones, but not on sale Hmm. I have also just been told that matalan would have been a good place to get them.

It was worn to the beach today with success, so I am happy Grin

FVP, I'm quite envious as I never kept up with the August thread. Did you Esk?

Nickel, was it your dd who ate a screw? Hope she is ok?

FeijoaVodkaPlease · 07/10/2012 22:39

How did I miss a screw being eaten?!

CC TTL is also on the June group and I can confirm she is stunning and her DD is super cute. Great day for the beach by the way! I wish we lived closer to the beach.

Doh and now I've double posted.

CuriosityCola · 08/10/2012 10:45

Fvp, we were just at Crammond, but it was lovely. Ds was entranced by the airplanes...very cute!

I started to read a thread about a baby eating a screw. Realised the op had a similar name to nickel. Then ds pressed button on my phone and I lost the thread. Wasn't able to find it again.

Nickel come speak to us! Grin

Was just checking out the jsing and grads threads. Super busy. Think there will be an influx of new babies in the new year. No sign of nervous nelly or Josie though?

my period is two days late

nickeldaisical · 08/10/2012 15:49

she didn't eat the screw! Grin

it was found in her nappy.
have a feeling that she wriggled over it whilst playing.
i'm 99% certain it didn't "pass through" Grin

sorry i've been AWOL - DD seems to be on my typing arm all the bloody time! and it's so hard to work out what's important when i can't feel one arm ...Wink

nickeldaisical · 08/10/2012 15:50

and MN going offline when i've just written a post doesn't help Hmm

(thank god for back button and c+p)

FeijoaVodkaPlease · 08/10/2012 18:51

Ohh Gu, how exciting!!

I LOVE Crammond. I spent several months living in a backpackers hostel on the shore front down there. We keep meaning to come out and explore the island, but never quite get around to it when the tide is right.

It's amazing what you can find in a baby's nappy Grin (or in a breast feeding bra for that matter Hmm).

I'm not sure about Nelly, but I think Josie bowed out of the JSing thread as going natural wasn't working and neither was getting help.

CuriosityColaKilledTheCat · 10/10/2012 20:29

Sorry Nickel, I'm just making up gossip from half reading your thread! Some people had their knickers in a right twist didn't they.

Still not poas. I am having a panic about maybe being pregnant and the subsequent sickness and lack of sleep. So I have decided denial is the best solution for a couple of days. Shit, I'm 5 days late!

nickeldaisical · 11/10/2012 11:47
Grin yes, they did, didn't they!

ooh, you're sooo pregnant! Grin
ah, it's like the old days again!

CuriosityColaKilledTheCat · 11/10/2012 11:51

Clearblue: pregnant 2-3 weeks
