Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
KateM77 · 21/05/2012 20:12

Thanks for all the well wishes (and the jelly and ice-cream Kitty!). I now have lots of white gunge on my tonsils so will head to the GP tomorrow and see if there's anything non-penicillin I can take Sad

DSM I had a low-lying placenta at 20 weeks with DD, and it had moved by 34 weeks. I think the vast majority do move.

Heading to bed. Hope you all have good nights ahead

DeterminedandSpecialMum · 21/05/2012 20:13

Yeah the sonographer told her it needs to be 2cm clear but it's just under 1cm clear. I did say it was common and more than likely will move so don't get down but don't get your hopes up.

Thanks Smile

DeterminedandSpecialMum · 21/05/2012 20:14

Kate I'm allergic to penicillin so I have to have erythremicyn (sp?) but not sure if you can take whilst BF. Hope you feel better soon.

HoneyLovesCake · 21/05/2012 20:18

Mine was low dsm they booked me in for a scan at 32 weeks. I can't remember the stats but they're very common in early pregnancy & they almost always move up. Also, they don't have to move very far at all to be safe so tell her not to worry & enjoy the extra scan. Don't know how true this is but my MW told me if I hadn't had any spotting it'd be fine; in her experience there was always some bleeding with placenta previa.

HoneyLovesCake · 21/05/2012 20:19

Crosspost :)

NorthernChinchilla · 21/05/2012 20:57

Sorry!

I do believe that I have now infected a good portion of the SE with my germs, so thought you'd like to share them too. I have the bright red, tight sore end of nose and 3 875 wet hankies of the head cold.

Hope DD2 is on the mend soon MsB, poor thing.

I don't know how you cope Mimsy, that sounds awful. Do you have any family or close friends that could help- even if it were just to take one of them (or come round) for a couple of hours on one day a week for the next few weeks, it may give you a little chance to recharge. Vent away though.

LMF that is remarkably kind of you, I'll drop you a PM shortly.

Hey MissRee, great news re the gas (just in time for the weather to heat up) but awful about your Dad. When will you get a chance to see him? Hopefully they've just got him 'restrained' as it were so he doesn't do any more damage, but sounds pretty scary.

It's awful when your heart bleeds for them hawthers, and there's nothing you can do to stop them being upset. I'm sure you can give him extra hugs and treats during this little rough patch, and hopefully in a couple of weeks he'll be using the potty no bother and have forgotten all about it.

Sounds like you could've come a cropper BJR, burst tyre when travelling is not fun.

Sorry for your sis DSM- still a good chance it could move. Trying not to worry about it til the later scan won't be easy for her though.

And am soooo excited about the party at Casa Nova Oi, with nice quiche and lots of wine Wink!!

OiMissus · 21/05/2012 21:00

kitty chin chin! Thank you. Beefy pasta... Well, why not?
BJR nightmare! Have some virtual champers for your misfortune. (predictive text turned that to cyanides, and that really is not what I meant.Hmm)
hawthers how did the little man get on? I hope his afternoon was more cheery.
BOi went down at 8:20pm tonight, - much better than the past few nights, let's hope he sleeps better tonight. DH has bought Tixylix baby syrup, sniffle babe vapour rub and a karvol plug in. We are armed and ready!

HoneyLovesCake · 21/05/2012 21:11

They do baby Tixylix? I'll have to get out to the chemist tomorrow...thanks for that Oi, stupidly I didn't think DS could have anything as the last time he had a cold he was about 2 months old, doh! He's not had a good day :( Lots of crying & lots of sleeping.

MissRee · 21/05/2012 21:39

So the gas men notched up a gear when DP got home after spending hours standing around scratching their arses and left at about 6.30 with gas reinstated and a fucking great mess in my kitchen I have now lost a bottle cap which had been sat on the side waiting to be sterilised Angry

Dad is back home as there was nothing they could do at the hospital. He has more mobility now but is still in excruciating pain. He has an appointment to see the consultant tomorrow evening (thank god for BUPA).

The worry now is that this is the third time it's happened since last Jan. He's had prolapsed discs repaired twice and the only option left (I think) is fusing the spine. But it's risky and will limit the mobility in his back. His work have been pretty understanding thus far but he only returned to his proper shift last week following his latest surgery Sad I think he only has to get through to July and then his work can retire him on ill health grounds and he will be entitled to full pension. Question is whether they will do that...

Sorry to hear the plague is spreading... I'm not sure whether Freya was snuffly today due to the cold (I had her in warm clothes and blankets but her nose has been cold all day!) or developing cold. Anyhoo I gave her some calpol before bed in the hope that she will fight it off in her sleep!

hawthers · 22/05/2012 00:46

Second night in a row DS2 woken within an hour of me going to bed.

Tonight he just won't settle back in his cot. It's like the bad old days if new born ness. Am so tired. There doesn't seen to be any consistency with his sleep. This time last week he did 8 to 5. But the last three nights he's been up from 11 onwards. Once he is up once that is it, he'll be up every 2 hours max all night. When oh when will thus improve

MissRee · 22/05/2012 01:20

She definitely has a cold Sad I can't settle her, she's screaming cos she can't breathe properly. DP has just taken over so I'm going to try and get some sleep.

hawthers · 22/05/2012 02:14

Up again.

hawthers · 22/05/2012 03:49

And again

Rashkakeller · 22/05/2012 05:31

Morning, am sat in a caravan, its a bit parky! Sun due later though!

Congrats Oi!

Can't remember who said about the dsis and the low placenta, yes, in most cases it does move but in my case it didn't. At 17 weeks the mw couldn't find a heartbeat so went for a scan and said my placenta was blocking it. Had few more scans, baby was transverse at one point and they threatened to admit me from 37 weeks but he moved! Had c section at 39 weeks. Not trying to scare, just offering another ending so to speak, I was very upset but it was great to be honest. All very calm because c section was elective and recovery better than 1st birth cos had loads of stitches and forceps!

hawthers · 22/05/2012 05:38

And again

DS1 now un in the act and wants mw to sleep in bed with him. Oh lord

DeterminedandSpecialMum · 22/05/2012 06:18

Sky didn't sleep well at all last night. Not sure why...Hawthers I completely understand how you feel.

Must stay awake!

OiMissus · 22/05/2012 08:13

Sorry to hear about your dad mimsy, that sounds pretty awful. Surely his company will be supportive for only 6 weeks or so? Hope so.
Another rough night here too - caused by BOi not breathing very well. (despite the chest rub and the karvol plug in). But he's OK during the day, just snotty, so I've just dropped him off at nursery. I just wanted to stay home with him today administering cuddles and medication, but, no can do.
It will make him stronger. or something.
I want to be in a caravan! Envy
We had planned on spending 4 days in Somerset in 4 weeks, as mum and dad are renting a cottage for 2 weeks and have invited us to join them for a long weekend in the middle. But if we do complete the house purchase in 28 days, we may be moving house. Grin We've paid for the rented house til the 3rd July, so we could have a little holiday and then move, but I may be too excited and need to move urgently.
Well I've given the bank, estate agent and solicitiors everyone's details. Told them the 28 day aim. Now I guess I sit and wait, and plan my decor.

LittleMissFlustered · 22/05/2012 09:16

Bad night was bad. Octoboy has something, it's just a case of waiting to see if that something is actually the pox or just random virus:(

Trying to work, honest, but saw this thread and had to have a quick read. It's lovely. Bringing tears to my eyes. I'll try and read more later.

OiMissus · 22/05/2012 10:49

Sorry - should explain, it's about the lovely people who have made your day/your childrens' days whilst being out and about. There are some lovely stories. [http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk/_chat/a1477617-The-people-you-briefly-love-when-you-have-children]
