(call was a quick one.)
Yippee yippee yippee!
In 28 days I could be moving into our new house. It's very exciting.
Am v v v excited!
The estate agent is going to tell the current owners that anything they don't need, just leave behind, we'll keep or dispose of anything left. There's still quite a few bits of furniture in there - kiddie's wardrobes/drawers, the kitchen dining table (i hope they leave that huge slab of wood!), the storage cupboards in the utility and office...
I'm guessing they don't need them as they aren't using them in their new house...
Oh there's cake in the kitchen, I am informed, someone's birthday. Don't mind if I do!
p.s. HURRAH!

KateM77 · 21/05/2012 10:46

Yay Oi That's fantastic news Grin

Think I might have tonsilitis Sad Don't suppose there's anything I can take for it given I'm BFing? Fortunately my Mum has the day off today so has come to help out - she's taken DD to musical minis at the moment - and DD has nursery Tues and Weds, so fingers crossed I'll cope!

GeeandTee · 21/05/2012 11:01

Hurrah Oi Grin

OiMissus · 21/05/2012 12:37

I certainly hope so lmf!
I envision the house warming party - lots of babies doing baby led weaning with tepid quiche everywhere. Wink

MissRee · 21/05/2012 13:01

So it looks like the gas will be back on today as they're ignoring Elf &Safety and using a ladder rather than scaffolding up the side of the house. Hoo-fecking-ray! In the meantime though, I've got two blokes traipsing in and out, the front door wide open and a 4-month old who keeps getting woken up and having screaming fits because of all the noise.

I've just got a text from my mum to say that dad has been rushed to hospital as his back has gone again (he had "supports" put on a couple of discs last year and this year). Mum said he's paralysed at the moment Sad I can't even go up the hospital because of these poxy workmen.

aethelfleda · 21/05/2012 13:25

Kate, If it's viral tonsillitis it needs time and rest to get better. If you have white muck on your tonsils or it gets worse, pop to the GP and tell them you are Bfing, if they think it's
Bacterial and you need antibiotics there are safe ones (penicillin is fine as long as you're not allergic to it).

misree oh no, how awful! Hope your dad improves quickly and that you can get to see him soon.

Yaaaaay for oi!

OiMissus · 21/05/2012 13:29

Sympathies to MissRee and kate

KateM77 · 21/05/2012 13:34

aethel thanks. No white gunge yet, and I had a reaction to penicillin last time I had tonsilitis, so will just try and rest up for now

MissRee how awful. Hope the workmen are done soon so that you can see your Dad and so lo can get a nap in

DeterminedandSpecialMum · 21/05/2012 14:04

Oi yay about the house

Tonsillitis is horrible. So glad I had my tonsils out.

DeterminedandSpecialMum · 21/05/2012 14:05

Kate Feel better soon... Was added at beginning of tonsillitis is horrible. Dunno what happened there!

hawthers · 21/05/2012 14:49

Bad night here again - I feel so bad I feel hungover. Just consumed a whole packet of biscuits too.

Feeling very Sad it's DS1's first day at nursery in pants and it doesn't sound like it is going well. He didn't want to sit on the nursery potty and cried until they put his nappy on for a bit. oh dear. They were going to try again with pants this afternoon. So worried about my pfb and don't want him to be upset.

OiMissus · 21/05/2012 15:25

Aw Hawthers, your poor little man. It's awful when they're upset. :(
He'll be fine, he'll get there. The nursery people won't let him get too upset. (((hugs)))

hawthers · 21/05/2012 15:29

thanks oi Just want to cry about it tbh. He's a sensitive little lad so i hope he'll not be too upset.

seven77 · 21/05/2012 15:40

Congrats on the house oi.

kate hope you feel better soon.

We had a bad night with DS, just awake for no reason. DH only got 3 hours sleep on Saturday night as we had friends round until stupidly late and Eva woke at 4. He had to sleep on DS's floor last night and I think I heard him call DS a "little shit" over the monitor :(. He's exhausted but he would never normally swear at the DC's, I want to say hopefully I misheard but I really don't think I did. I haven't mentioned it, it's not a conversation I want to have. I don't know what to do :(

BJR · 21/05/2012 16:20

Hands round Brew seems like most of us are needing pick me ups today :(

I am having what I can only call one of those days. DS is very grumpy and wants holding all the time so I've been running late all day. Was about to leave the house to take DS swimming when my jeans (my last nice pair that fit) ripped at the knee. Almost threw a strop and and thought no point in bloody going out. But got over it and jumped in the car.

Two minutes on, hit a bit of debris on the motorway and my tyre burst. I should have listened to the ripping jeans and just stayed home! Also need to learn to change the tyre myself as waiting by the side of a busy motorway for the RAC with a baby is not fun.

Ok rant over ... onto more positive things! Congratulations on the house Oi :)

Figgygal · 21/05/2012 16:21

seven sorry to hear about your bad nights am sure dh didn't mean what he said As you said he was tired.

Lo been to messy play at baby group today he had mashed potato in his hair when I got home so thought I'd finish him off by giving him a rusk to chew on before his bath. What a mess!! Why do they market rusks as first food from 4 months if they have gluten in them?? Well I'm sure 1 won't hurt him unfortunately I had 2 with a cup of tea........and an ice cream in the way home!!

It's lovely here today if it carries on until I go back to work I'll be chuffed, 5 weeks tomorrow noooooooooo

Kitty5824 · 21/05/2012 17:45

Tired.com here. No real reason, busy weekend and 3 feeds between 11pm and 8am but this feels normal now. Oh, I did cut the grass this afternoon, maybe that is why my arms are sore. D'oh!

If I chuck some onion, garlic, nearly gone off toms in a pan and make a sauce I can add some left over roast beef to make a random pasta sauce right? Will elt you know how it turns out.....

DeterminedandSpecialMum · 21/05/2012 18:30

Seven I'm sure DH doesn't mean it. Hoping the nights get better for you.

Bed early for me & the girls tonight, DP is off up the pub - he needs to unwind from work. Feel sorry for all the stress they are putting him under.

DeterminedandSpecialMum · 21/05/2012 18:48

I feel for my DSis today. She went for her 20 week scan. Baby is perfectly normal & healthy, however, she has a low lying placenta. She's been booked in for a scan at 34 weeks and if still low lying will be booked in for a section. First baby too and she really doesn't want a section. I did explain it could still move, but if it doesn't and she needs a section then better for safety of baby rather than rushed EMCS!

Don't really know what else to say tbh.

LittleMissFlustered · 21/05/2012 19:55

We had a couple of wandering placenta on here didn't we?

OP posts:
aethelfleda · 21/05/2012 20:11

Yep, mine was low, got told it was " right down the bottom" and not to overdo things".... At the 32 week scan had all scuttled nicely out of the way. Tell her as long as she doesn't get bleeding over 90% of them move up, and it only needs to be 2cm clear for a "normal" delivery plan. Hope that is a tiny bit reassuring xx
