lp did you see the wonder week chart Cheshire put on the fb group? Not sure what week E is in, but maybe he is heading for a growth spurt/development leap. Check it out, seems to be spot on for us!! Hope all is better tomorrow Smile

We've had a lovely day outside in the sun. S has really awful nappy rash so was nappy free most of today Smile. It's looks so sore, poor thing. As soon as the nappy comes off, she reaches down to scratch it Sad. Been using sudocrem but got some of that yellow ointment today (metanuim?) so it's on her tonight. She has a really runny bottom for a few days now. Not off her food or anything so wondering if maybe teething. Only time will tell

ed how did christening go? bb3 when you off on your holidays?

PenguinArmy · 21/05/2012 21:29

sudacrem does nothing for DS, it has to be metanium even ,when he is alright otherwise within a few nappy changes it is back to being really red.

ipswitch I reckon a few days off might be good for all of you, if anything just to take the pressue of you. Sleep sounds good though, maybe link the page you were using to here?

I think I have found a climbing partner just we keep being busy alternate weeks so haven't been yet.

elgoldenflower · 21/05/2012 22:11

Hi all, been lurking a bit as I can't seem to find the time to post and still quite sleep deprived. So feel a bit guilty Blush

Just reading through the no cry sleep solution and feeling hopeful although we've discovered that Lincoln is allergic to eggs as well as milk so that might be factoring in. Just waiting on a paediatrician appt. Any ideas for a variety of nutritious vegan baby friendly food? Penguin Lincoln loves lentil dahl which I used your recipe for, he also likes a lightly spiced black bean concoction. We also give him 4 grain porridge which has quinoa so higher in protein than oats. Any help with other balanced meals, so we're prepared when he needs them, would be very welcome. We're mixed puree and BLW by the way.

To those struggling with nappy rash, we've always used burts bees nappy cream and it works amazingly, heals any signs of nappy rash really quickly. Pricey but goes along way. We use cloth nappies though and think that really helps his sensitive skin as he had a reaction when we tried huggies.

Sorry I'm not better at keeping up with you all

TallyBear · 21/05/2012 22:36

Fuzzy I got a freebie of the Johnsons nappy cream and that seems to clear things up really quickly. I guess each skin type likes different creams.

Well I came on to get some advice on blw but it seems people have beaten me to it! So I guess I'll add my experiences. We decided to try blw as it's easier and I'm lazy. Seb sometimes has baby porridge in the morning, might get something of ours (cheese on toast, cucumber or fruit) or veg mush (I don't puree as such, just mush up) for lunch and then a bit of what we're having for dinner. It's a bit hit and miss during the day and no routine as dh is now at home with him now I'm back at work

However, I need more ideas for dinner things - I might need to by the blw cookbook. I'm getting a bit bored of doing 'something' with mash and veg so Seb can have the veg. I think he is also getting bored of veg - except broccoli and roast parsnip but we only have that on Sundays. He likes sticks of meat - chicken is a favourite (def not a veggie!). He doesn't 'get' pasta! He had steak and chip tonight! Most of the food does get mushed up and dropped down his apron or thrown on the table but he seems to like it, although it gets to a time when he starts crying and wants some 'real food'. He still loves his milk and is still on about 1000ml a day (5 x 200ml).

So, long story short - does anyone have any recipe ideas for meals that are good for adults and babies?

FuzzzyDuck · 21/05/2012 23:49

Thanks pa. Usually the sudo does good but when she is really red, only the fresh air seems to help. She spent the majority of today nappy-less so fingers crossed. Funny you say that about the cloth nappies el. I've never found a problem with any brand go for mega cheap ones now but I've sent away for a stack of cloth ones to try out. My council offer a starter pack of 10 and all the bits you need (think its all valued at £100!) for free! Didn't quite believe it when I read it but yeah. Just waiting on it being delivered. mrsh, ed don't know if Glasgow city council offer something similar...? Im West Dunbartonshire. Don't know if it appeals to you both. I'll take anything for free!!

tally I bought Annabel Karmels baby and toddler book. Some lovely recipes in there. I made a big fish in cheesy sauce last night that S had tonight for her dinner. My mum had her for dinner but reported back that it went down well thank god as I made enough to feed my whole street Grin. Check out local library. Mine has a few good cook books. I scan the recipes I like to add to my folder

EdwardorEricCantDecide · 22/05/2012 01:20

Hi everyone, hope your all well, I feel like I never get a chance to get on here anymore so sorry if I don't answer anyone.
Christening went well if a bit stressful on the morning. Im a bit gutted though because the mass dragged on a bit of the timings M wa desperate for her lunch by the time we got out so I didn't get any nice pics o the kids in their clothes Sad
So I'm gonna take them to a photographer and get a few pics of the kids in their outfits. I'll upload a couple of the ones I did get to FB.

EdwardorEricCantDecide · 22/05/2012 01:22

FD iv been using AK recipes and Mhairi loves them she'll eat anything though I tend to make 3 or 4 different recipes at a time and stock the freezer so I only need to cook a few times a month.

LittlePebble · 22/05/2012 06:39

Tally another one using AK recipes. I cook big spaghetti bolognese for us, use baby stock cube and split before seasoning so he has his and we have ours. He LOVES the fish in cheese sauce recipe FD and cauliflower cheese, leek and potato one (all are great for adults too).
He's 30 weeks now do in between leaps according to wonder week chart Confused
Ed glad christening went well, how is DH? X

Engelsmeisje · 22/05/2012 08:08

FD M also has a really sore bottom. Trying to give him as much nappy free time as poss, but hard now he's pulling himself everywhere!

FuzzzyDuck · 22/05/2012 08:21

Sad all babies with site bottoms. S woke at 1.30am screaming so went back in to settle her and smelled that she had poo. Her bum was scarlet! No wonder she was crying Sad. Tried changing her in the dark as she was still sleepy. Up again this morning and poo again. Not sure what is causing it. I gave her toast and peanut butter past 2 mornings after her cereal, do you think that has anything to do with it...?
lp yes the fish pie did taste good! I chucked in some leeks though which I'm not a fan of or I would've ate some too. Next time I'll leave it out.

FuzzzyDuck · 22/05/2012 09:01

After screaming in pain for 1/2 an hr, she has fell asleep in my arms Sad. She must be so sore

Jnice · 22/05/2012 09:07

Aww, hugs to the babes with site bums. When L is sore we have to stop cloth and use one of the enviro-friendly disposables. No fragrance or bleach etc.

I use a zinc and castor oil cream as a barrier too, he will get sore in a damp nappy and I'm not always on the ball to change him every 2 hrs Blush

Jnice · 22/05/2012 09:07

Site? Sore!

Engelsmeisje · 22/05/2012 09:11

Ms is much worse when he's had a poo FD. Just gave him a nappy free our, but now he's almost crawling, he's pulling himself all over the place so I have to keep an eye on him (I really don't fancy cleaning poo off the rug!).

My mum said that maybe their wee is stronger when they're teething (not sure if that's true or not!).

So hot and humid here. Heading out for lunch and some shopping when my parents get here Smile

EdwardorEricCantDecide · 22/05/2012 09:12

lp he's been great, he is still drinking but only on nights out now so not sitting at home getting drunk which is good. He really surprised me last night while I was putting kids down he managed to bring in the washing, cut the grass, tidy the living room, do the dishes and fix the patio steps Shock it's amazing what a bit of sunlight does for him! --and I clearly spend too long bathing kids Grin

lookout · 22/05/2012 09:16

Sorry haven't got time to reply to everyone but my mw friend recommended the Weleda Calendeula Nappy cream for sore bots and we have never looked back. It is seriously good, never had anything with ds1 like this, it is amazing!

FuzzzyDuck · 22/05/2012 09:17

engel yes I had S rolling around on a duvet in garden yesterday. She rolled right off it and into grass then done a poo!! Her timing was perfect Grin

CheshireDing · 22/05/2012 11:12

Will catch up properly tonight when not working but can anyone give me an idea of how much milk they think their baby has per day at the moment?

I have a trade fair this weekend and am wondering whether I can express enough to leave P with DH for at least 24 hours.

I am sure when we were pregnant someone said there was a vague calculation, or maybe it's not possible at 7 months.

strawberrypenguin · 22/05/2012 11:51

cheshire W has roughly 24oz a day (ff though don't know I that makes a difference)

PenguinArmy · 22/05/2012 12:17

yeah it's 25oz of ebm a day on average, but probably less now weaning has started. I'd leave 25oz if possible, in case they want to comfort feed.

PenguinArmy · 22/05/2012 12:22

DS was having a rough night then once unswaddled I realised his head was really itchy. Cracked open the hydrocortosine cream and he was fast asleep within a minute. Was only slightly more unsettled than normal after that.

lookout · 22/05/2012 12:37

If anyone's about - E's bedroom is at 23 degrees according to the monitor, he's in a babygro and grobag. Should I worry? Not sure what I could do to cool it down. We live on a main road so if I open the window he's bound to wake up Confused

PenguinArmy · 22/05/2012 12:42

see if he is sweating or feels hot. If ok then leave and next time use just nappy or vest with or without grobag is what i would do

FuzzzyDuck · 22/05/2012 12:43

lookout can you unzip grobag so he is exposed? It's getting hot up north too!! Grin

lookout · 22/05/2012 12:51

Thanks, will try and creep in but he's such a light sleeper I'm worried about disturbing him! I just sat outside with a beer cos i'm a closet lush Grin and my arm is already sunburned!
