Only 9 teeth here too - 4 front top and bottom and a molar that's appeared in the last few weeks, no real signs of any more coming yet. I figure there's not much we can do to encourage them and they'll turn up eventually.

Starshaped · 05/09/2012 16:05

11 teeth here, with number 12 on the way. There were only 8 until a couple of weeks ago though. The relative lack of teeth doesn't seen to be affecting her eating habits though!

JoEW · 06/09/2012 10:04

I think C has 10. I stopped venturing into his mouth a while ago.

JKSLtd · 06/09/2012 11:00

Had a lovely time at the Paralympics - wish we'd got more tickets now!

I tend to tip DD upsidedown on my lap to check her teeth, not sticking a finger in there now!

ecuse · 06/09/2012 15:09

Not sure how many teeth J has. Definitely the 4 front ones top or bottom. Last I saw I think 2 molars so - 10 in total? But hard to tell if molars are one or two. I definitely don't stick my finger in there any more.

So I'm annoyed cause I just went out of work at lunch time to get a preg test, then POAS'd and the bloody thing didn't work. I don't really think I'm pregnant (I have a COIL FFS and am still having periods) but I keep 'feeling a baby kick'. Am I going mad?! I did read somewhere that it's not rare to feel those bubbling movements after you've already had a child but I swear to god they feel IDENTICAL to early kicks. Really low down just above my pubic bone where J used to kick me and then diagonally opposite under a rib. Very disconcerting. Have been feeling them several times a day for a week. Anyway I can't be pregnant would be just too ridiculous but was doing a test to put my mind at rest before we go on holiday with my parents tomorrow. Will have to get another one on the way home. I'm minded to ask for a refund - they're not cheap!

Kittycatcat · 06/09/2012 16:28

Deffo get a refund ecuse. Fingers crossed for the right result?!?!

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 06/09/2012 16:45

Phantom kicks are very strange aren't they? If indeed they are phantom! Grin

I know three people who have got pregnant on the coil and who had to have the coil removed at their 12 week scan. That's not really helpful is it?! Mind you I'm slightly panicking at the moment. Have been feeling sick for a few days Confused and the irony is dh is having the snip tomorrow. In my rational mind I know it is very unlikely I am pg, but it doesn't stop me from being concerned.

The one sleep a day is working well. I think he was ready for it. It's lovely going out and doing things with him in the morning when ds is at pre school.

Not long now Kitty. How are you feeling? Excited? Shitting it? Bit of both?!

Kittycatcat · 06/09/2012 17:00

Eek ilike

Yeah both!! S has got really clingy this week. Prob cos he's had me at home for a month now. He is good around babies so I'm not soooo worried about that. I'm not looking forward to bring away from him for a night. And I'm worried about juggling them both. But then I'm hugely excited and can't wait to meet him-Alexander! 11 days feels so far away. I'm starting to get scared about the elective and recovery too.

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 06/09/2012 17:52

Lovely name Smile

You'll be fine. My advice would be really rest when your dh is on paternity leave, take the opportunity to heal well because when he's back to work it won't be so easy to rest. You look after ds2, dh looks after you and ds1!

My post section tips are:

As soon as you get the feeling back, start moving around ASAP - little walks to the loo etc, not hikes! Moving gets the heart working, the heart pumping gets the circulation going, and good circulation promotes wound healing. it also means you can get rid of those bloody awful dvt socks.

Get the canula and catheter taken out ASAP. Getting rid of them makes you feel more human. MW's may resist incase you need to go back down to surgery - but that's unlikely with a ELCS and they can always site another one.

Drink lots of water and oj - it will help with the first post surgery poo! Also peppermint tea if you get wind pain.

Take your pain relief on the dot. Don't let the pain in, once it's in it can be hard to get rid of.

Keep A on you as much as possible to get your milk supply going. Don't be afraid to ask for help picking him up and moving him for you if you are sore.

I know you've had a section before, just thought a few refreshers might help Smile

Kittycatcat · 06/09/2012 18:08

Thank you Grin. ESP re the first poo. My god the pain!!!

JKSLtd · 06/09/2012 19:43

Yeah not envying you that bit Kitty! I had a c-s with DS2 and the first poo wasn't bad at all, but after DD's tear & repair it was awful. (remember the shy poo?!)

But oh the baby snuggles, mmmmm Grin

Ecuse & ILike - i'm sure you're not pg but hand holding ready if you are. I am so torn (no pun intended) about DC4, it's something I've always wanted/planned for/dreamt of. But some days I think wouldn't it just be simpler to stop now? Move on from the baby days, etc. But then I'm not ready to do that & DD self-weaning BF didn't help.
I know it sounds mad but I haven't gone through the last 16ish months (& pg before that) telling myself it's the 'last time'. Not sure I can rewrite history to say i'm done.
Then I think how lovely another baby would be, and DS1 keeps begging for just one more baby Grin!
When asked why, he says because then there'll be more people to play with, awwwww.

DD has gone to bed in 'proper' pjs tonight, sooo cute! Pink gingham ones my aunt sent over from France, adorable.

Kittycatcat · 06/09/2012 19:57

Oh jks how sweet of ds1. I melted.

I just scared myself. Was playing with a, pretending to drop him and got a huge pain at the top of bump where I think his bum, back and a leg are. It still hurts now but I had some almighty kicks after.

ecuse · 06/09/2012 19:57

ooh pleased to hear phantom baby kicks aren't just me. Less pleased to hear of 4 coiled up-duff-ees.

Not at all the right time for us to have a second (how long since I last mentioned our catastrophic house moving saga and the fact we're still in a 1-bed flat?) but.... but... snuggly newborn....

JKSLtd · 06/09/2012 19:59

I get lots of flutters now - assume that we are more aware of bubbles post-babies. Or maybe we suffer more from indigestion still?
I know I keep getting AF and there's be no 'risky' behaviour either (!) so i don't stress about them.

ecuse · 06/09/2012 20:05

I have had the flutters occasionally ever since I had Jo but just the fact that it's been morning, noon and night for the last week that has weirded me out.

Probably brewing a monster poo Grin

UnderwaterBasketWeaving · 06/09/2012 20:09

Oh, if we're on to monster poos...

GlaikitFizzog · 06/09/2012 20:28

Congratulation Mr Ecuse, you wife has just given birth to a monster poo

I feel the flutters and had the same panic as you a while back, but now I realise that are being pregnant everything can't go back to excatly where it was before. A bit like how a house creeks for no reason!

For those who asked I have the videos of our choir performance. I'll post on the fb page. The sound isn't great, and I lookmlike the side of a house, but I think it's ok.

Kittycatcat · 06/09/2012 20:35

Hahahahahahaha monster poo

UnderwaterBasketWeaving · 08/09/2012 23:55

Aargh.

FIL (& SIL earlier, he's passing through to drop her off at uni, & come back to stay here tonight) is here and I need to vent.

  1. They arrived late (I was putting off F's nap to see them, so he got overtired & stroppy).
  2. the plan I heard involved them stopping in for SIL to see F, but she had to work in the afternoon. But they stayed.
  3. They kept their shoes on. It's a new(ish) house, we've got cream carpet. Come on people! (and no, I am completely unable to say anything. At least it's not walking boots like last time)
  4. Sneer at us for getting tesco delivery, harp on about their organic veg coming from Pembrokeshire and boast about spending twice our food budget on just The 2 of them (F&MIL). Honestly, I don't care, please shut up.
  5. Borderline offensive regarding Paralympians.
  6. Shoot down anything we're remotely enthused about.
  7. Bang on and on about black cormorants, or something (I like birds, I do, but really?)

At least he hasn't started harping on about his cholesterol yet (see point 4) or how terribly worrying business is (point 4, again, and the ridiculous new car). There is time, but I'm going to escape to bed in a mol.

This is why we live 200 miles away from our families!

I know, I'm being mean. I don't care, they started it

Kittycatcat · 09/09/2012 08:25

ubw. You know what they say... You can choose your friends Wink. Sounds like its just aswell you don't see them that often. Nightmare. Hugs.

GsyPotatoPieEyed · 09/09/2012 20:03

Will steal a glass for myself too in preparation for tomorrow morning. I'd best not have the bottle, don't want a reputation at the school gate for being a lush on our first day Grin

UnderwaterBasketWeaving · 09/09/2012 21:51

Good luck for school Gsy! And everyone else with tiddlers starting.

FIL continued with the shoes (he was already wearing them when I got up. Did he sleep in them?!) and crushingly dull anecdotes. But bought us lunch, so partly redeemed, and eventually left.

I love my quiet, unapologetically-slightly-grubby house, especially when there's no-one here to judge it and me by proxy.

Kittycatcat · 10/09/2012 06:54

Ditto ubw. Good luck everyone. Loving tiddlers ref, sings meet the veggies.

Well done ubw. Nice to return to normality.

Well it's the final countdown here. This time next week I'll be arriving at hospital. S and dh have colds, I hope I don't get it...

JKSLtd · 10/09/2012 11:44

Eek Kitty - really not long left. Dose up on vitamin C?

Ditto re anyone starting school good luck to them all :)

Took DD into town to get her feet measured, had been told to go back in July, oops. & i didn't think her (garish) pink ones were too small but she's a whole size bigger, apparently Hmm
Anyway, a change to some purple ones which are more tasteful - though velcro so have been played with and undone already

MIL has offered to stay and mind the DC for us, so DH & I are planning a quick trip to Barcelona for a few days :) Anyone been there? What are the essential spots to see, given that we have a very short time and want to spend lots of time relaxing, sleeping, drinking, sitting by the pool, not necessarily rushing about sight-seeing?

Kittycatcat · 10/09/2012 16:27

Never been jks but it sounds heavenly.

Ok going to bring up the 'c' word. What can I get S? He will be 19 months old. Ideally nothing big cos we don't have the space plus will have a 3 month old!!
