blizy · 06/05/2012 21:48

Wiggles- sounds like you had a lovely weekend.Grin at Anna and the priest. U will check out our pic when in on the laptop.

Ponyo- your pils sound like a pair of tubes! I would defo stay clear for a while. Hope you are ok?

Reastie- wow at the price of
Curtains!

Tad- yip agree with wiggles, you should come on here more often.Wink

. I have forgot what you all posted about. SorryBlush.

Right I'm off to watch homeland we have sky pluses it.

Emski76 · 07/05/2012 07:43

I'm back!!!

EuroDisney was fandabidozy! Boys were fantastic, rides were brill, weather good, pils a pita! FIL moaned, andmil ran around panicking about everything! Had to bite my tongue quite a few times!

Have managed to read the thread and think I've caught up.

Wiggles, love the pic of A, she looks such a bright, fun girl!

Ponyo, glad your dads day went ok, shame about pils.

Led, well done on c2k, wish I could find the motivation to exercise. Caught myself naked in the mirror a few times over the weekend and it is not a pretty sight.

Blizy, how rude of those people!

Right, off to catch on up on my washing. Don't know how I'm going to dry it all, it's pissing down here.

reastie · 07/05/2012 08:28

deb Alice is in a mixture of 6-12, 9-12 and 12-18. She only last week got too small for her 6-9 vests Shock and is on 9-12 vests and nightwear and trousers (short legs!) . She's also still in her baby car seat which is borrowed from a colleague at work who couldn't believe she was still in it Hmm . Btw I have no idea who this footballer is either

Yes, £165 a metre Shock - that would be over £1000 for curtains. tad the rest of the room would match them perfectly already but no way could we spend that much when things like the windows and room are falling apart Confused . They were silk and sort of embroidered pattern probably hand sewn by child slaves

wiggs was it a double episode last night, argh, hope my series link recorded it all. Btw Grin to the father ted comment

blizy how do you find folding the zapp? We were given a zapp from bil/sil but DH and I just can't get the nack of folding it up as it seems really stiff. Could just be us though Hmm

ems glad you had such a good time (minus PIL). Any good piccies?

americanexpat · 07/05/2012 08:55

reastie - £165 a metre?! Shock We have a Zapp and it took me a few goes to get the folding down. Once you fold down the arms, flip it so the front wheel is against the ground and the grey button is at the top. Lift it a bit and bounce it into the ground while holding the button and it should collapse (might take a few goes). Is your granny's funeral today? Will be thinking of you if it is.

Ponyo - Hmm at the PILs. Ridiculous.

L is still in some 9-12 month clothes but the trousers are getting too short. The 12-18 month trousers are still too long. Hmm We bought 12-18 month size when he outgrew the 6-9 month clothes since he was nearly 12 months at the time, so it's a mix of sizes really.

He was unbelievably grumpy this morning but now he's SEP. Grin He is the only child at nursery today though. Shock

reastie · 07/05/2012 09:10

american no funeral is next Monday. That technique on the zapp sounds very complicated Confused . We can get the arms down no problem it's just the legs bit that's tricky isn't it?

Alice sleeping so off to clean kitchen floor. Have no idea what to do with her today - DH at work and everywhere will be either busy or shut for bank holiday. Might take her to a local nature trail to try to wear her out as a day home alone with her with just have her non stop moaning Confused

americanexpat · 07/05/2012 09:22

reastie - once you get the hang of it, it's easy. Maybe I'm not describing it very well? It'll balance on the handles and front wheel, just sort of pick it up and bash it into the ground, while holding on to the grey button thing. The impact should press the button and start it folding. It took me a few times to get the hang of it.

We took L to the aquarium yesterday and he stood with his little face pressed against the glass. Grin

Grannyapple · 07/05/2012 09:44

Hi ladies...can't believe the shocking weather this w/e! We went to a local farm yesterday & it was miserable in the rain...we lasted for about 30 mins & then found a cosy pub for lunch Smile.

Sis is down so went out to pub last night...had a bottle of vino...& N woke at 5.30...grr! I now feel your pain ladies, for all those with the early rising babies...feels like half the day is gone come 10am when ur up that early!

reastie....psst...our curtains cost about that, including a super fancy curtain pole Shock. But we too have windows that are less than perfect & need renewed...but the window dressing make them look fab Wink...could justify it by saying that you'll keep them for 10 years to dh, especially if they are a classic design??That's how I had to justify ours Grin...you can get them taken down & cleaned every year ( tho might need to get that done professionally??).

blizy · 07/05/2012 11:18

Reastie- I have had a few practice runs if folding it, it is tricky but ok. I just push on the grey bit with my foot and it collapses ok. Inhabit watch a video on you tube for instructions though!Grin

Emski- glad you had a fab time at Disney! Hope the inlays weren't too bad.

Wiggles- dh is going on a stag weekend to Belfast in Sept. guess what hotel the best man has booked? Dh is raging, Ha haGrin

Hope you all have a good bank holiday, we are going to see avengers and have dinner at TGI's yum!

ledkr · 07/05/2012 18:04

Hello all. Its pissing down here. Ella had rehearsals then went swimming with her Dad. Me and dh did some shopping then back to watch a crap dvd and eat bruchetta yum. We decided on a spot of daytme alcohol so I now feel a bit headachy and tired.
Dills surpassed herself with a 5am wake up grrrr.Dh got up even though he did work till 12 but im at work tomorrow and have got up all weekend.
ems glad Disney was good.I know that naked in the full length mirror feeling. Its like "who the fuck is that?" Grin
wiggs Anna looks so much like Dilly its weird.
She has been funny today, she keeps saying "yeah?" just how i do and then shaking her head.
Yesterday she saw dgs hit his Mum and watched dil tell him off.she then wandered over to dil and hit her before grinning at dgs as if to say "I'm with you on the hitting mate"
Work tomorrow bah!

NeedToSleepZZZ · 07/05/2012 19:47

Hello everyone,

ems welcome home! glad you had fun and a good b'day. Boo to the seeing yourself in the mirror, I know that feeling. OH has lost quite a bit of weight lately and I keep catching him looking at his stomach in it, makes me Grin

reastie Shock at the price of the JL material, could you post a link as I need to indulge my fantasy of a beautiful house? granny is right though about how to explain the cost to DH! Wink B is still in some 6-9 month vests and is about a 9-12 months size in general as none of his 12-18 month things fit properly so we're with you on that front.
Meant to message you but OH is doing you a copy of The Killing so will send it off in the week Smile

ledkr hope headache is passing now, this weather is just grim, I hate the thought of a whole week of it with nowhere to go with B. Actually braved hell softplay last week and it was full of, ahem, 'loud mouthed' mums that scared me a bit. I ended up looking after a little girl of about 2yo, her mum was outside and I couldn't find anyone that worked there Hmm
Sorry about dills waking up so early, it is a killer isn't it? We've moved B's bedtime later by half an hour which had a small impact but have now resorted to just having him in bed with us when he wakes at stoopid o'clock.

ponyo I am so Angry at your pil for you, that's just not on. It sounds like they were treating it as a day out, I'd be with you on wanting to give them a wide berth for a bit. How are you feeling now?

american, blizy and reastie I am so confused with this zapp??? Must have missed a post as I have no idea what it is Confused. I'm guessing a pushchair but sounds more complicated than that...

blizy did you like the avengers? sounds like you're having a good day with DH Smile

I feel rubbish, B had a cold in the week (think that's what the high temp was about) and lost his voice completely (hooray!, only joking), sounded very sweet when he tried to talk. Now he's given it to me but it's gone to my chest and have been up the last 2 nights coughing, I sound like a barking seal and it's made my stomach and head hurt.
Been out in the sodding rain to watch the Jack In The Green procession (pagan thing Wink) today and got frozen but it was quite funny to see B's face when he saw the morris dancers.

Oh, discovered that stair gates don't work, B can undo it. Luckily we're in a flat but still! Have I spawned a reincarnation of Houdini? He can also get out of his sleeping bag and pyjamas, won't be long till it's his nappy.

Mammoth post, apologies! Hope you all relax tonight x

WeAreBorg · 07/05/2012 22:30

Evenin all

ponyo Shock you were well justified in your rant, hope you are okay.

emski holiday sounds brilliant, very jealous.

reastie did you catch Homeland yet? It was brilliant, are we allowed to dscuss it yet? Yes, link please to the curtains , if it makes you feel better, I spent millions, yes millions on window shutters.

deb N is generally in 9-12 now. We have only just ordered a big boys car seat.

needto Grin at ben the houdini, my friends baby is like that and she often finds him pretty much naked in the morning!

ledkr Grin at dillys partner in crime

have to go, sort out N, back if i can......

reastie · 08/05/2012 07:34

borg window shutters you say Envy Envy

I can announce I have now watched homeland, so chat away Grin . DH and I watch it usually together but at the last minute he had to dash up last night to pick up MIL so I couldn't watch it with him but couldn't wait any longer so may have to watch it again with him tonight as he'll want to watch it. It was great wasn't it? I was wondering how on earth they would manage to get another series out of it, but , yes, they did!!

needto hope you feel better soon. Loved the piccie on fb of you at the pagan thingy - I wondered what the green thing on your nose was

ILovePonyo · 08/05/2012 13:17

Hiya! Just a quickie (am on my lunch break!)

Well nice to know I am not alone in thinking my pil were being out of order Hmm No mention of them coming up yet but I will be saying a firm no when the conversation comes up!

reastie I am Shock at the price of curtains, wow! An emblem of 'that woman' - who, the playboy woman?! Wink

emski ah glad you had a good break, stupid pil ruining stuff though eh Wink Well done biting your tongue, good work.

Needto fwiw on the day of my dads funeral we picked A up from our friends when we got back, but she was having such a fun time with the other kids there we stayed for a while, so she didn't go to bed til 9.30pm, she was shattered. And guess what time she woke up - half 6 as per usual Confused Doesn't make sense does it! Love that B can wriggle his way out of everything, v cute. Hope you feel better soon :)

Borg hope N settled for you last night, A is now in her big girl car seat and bloody loves it, she always laughs when I get in the front and turn around to look at her as if I'm surprised to her there, hahaha I'm sooo funny Grin Hmm

blizy how was TGI's?! I loooove it but dp is a food snob and won't eat there. Well actually its because he got sick after eating there once but whatever.

deb A is in 9-12 month clothes, they are a bit small but next size up too big atm. I've never heard of that footballer either clueless but he must be minted, make friends with him! Wink

Hi everyone else, I should get back to work, its a bit weird being back but gives me something to do. Back later

MizK · 08/05/2012 14:29

Hi ladies, hope all had good bank Hol weekends? Was drunk and disorderly on Sunday, was so fun. It was in payback for DP getting so drunk on Sat after the FA cup that he fell asleep on the late bus, and had to be woken by the driver who heard him snoring. He then stumbled in, tried to entice me with some seductive chat which was interrupted by him staggering to the bathroom to vomit, sexy! Our DCs have fab role models don't they....
reastie wow that fabric is expensive! And who is that woman?
ponyo Hi lady, hope work goes OK. Its prob good in that it might distract you for a bit and start getting things back to normal? I agree with your DP re TGIs I'm afraid, not my fave!
ledkr haha at violent Dilly, little minx! Our first thread example of peer pressure :)
borg wiggles all Homeland fans - don't know how I can wait til season 2.... did anyone else secretly want him to go through with it or am I just a sicko?
emski glad you had a nice time, minus PILs of course. Re body in mirror horror - I'm the same in that I wonder who replaced my tummy with a bag of cottage cheese? honestly I never knew it was possible to have stomach cellulite :(
needto Hope you feel better soon, poor you xxxx

reastie · 08/05/2012 18:34

mizk my heart was beating so fast when brody was going to pull the switch Blush - tbh I didn't think it would happen though as there was still another 3/4 hr or however long left on the show and I didn't think they would do that with so much time left afterwards . Can't wait for next season either.

ems I find the best technique is to not have full length mirrors anywhere near where you get changed Grin

Mum took Alice to her tumble tots today as MIL couldn't. Turns out Alice is scared of all the loud older boys in the group and was too scared to do any activities, just clung on Mum the whole time. MIL has said similar ish things re: Alice being a bit clingy so am now looking to get her on another class as don't think she's getting much out of this one. Oh to be back at baby sensory Hmm [reminisces]

Btw, that woman is the Queen Grin why can everyone work it out when wiggles uses the term and no one when I do

reastie · 08/05/2012 18:37

Oh yes and forgot to say, DH been in a killer mood since I got home. Turns out he's barely sat down all aafternoon and been busy all through his afternoon off with Alice. You don't say?!! Usually Alice sleeps for 2 hours in the afternoon for him and then he sits watching DVDs while looking after her at the same time. I think he thinks I do that all day every day Angry - he's finally had a 'normal' afternoon!

ledkr · 08/05/2012 20:04

reastie How funny.Dh had a day like that.D refused an afternoon nap and he said she was stuck to him like glue. I think the reason he is so sympathetic and hands on is because he does know what its like.
I had a busy day at work, cos of the bh,did 2 days work in one day.

mizk I hate blokes when they are drunk, they have no bloody control.I can get drunk and stil function but dh cant. The footy was depressing though in his defence.

I think d has been here before. She sneezed today and covered her mouth like an adult its so funny.

ILovePonyo · 08/05/2012 21:04

HELP what am supposed to do when A starts hitting the tv, I say no and move her away and she laughs like its a funny game and does it again??!! Advice please Grin

MizK yep being back at work was ok, bit of a distraction indeed. Grin at your dp attempting some sexy time before thowing up, appealing!

reastie oh, the queen Wink A ranges from very to a bit clingy at play sessions, a few months ago she was off roaming and almost didn't need me there but now she sometimes wont get off my lap, think its their age.

ledkr boo to lots of work and aww at D and her cute sneezing, she sounds like she'll be a wise old before her time girl indeed.

I'm watching Great Ormond Street in bbc2, oh god this is going to be a mistake, blubbing ahoy I'm sure...

reastie · 08/05/2012 21:16

ponyo can't help afraid as we've had to cover the area around the TV with a big fireguard as Alice kept trying to pull the cables (and television) down and onto her head Shock

ledkr funny re: both our DHs having tiring days. DH in a grump most of time since I got home. Wouldn't surprise me if he'd had one of his swearing/shouting anger sessions while I was at work as he said fixing the buggy puncture was annoying [sigh] but I guess I will never know Hmm

reastie · 08/05/2012 21:17

Btw ponyo I think you're right re: their age. A friend of mines DD suddenly went really shy and clingy around this age, and still is now 6 months later Hmm . Said friend is finding clingyness very tiring indeed

Grannyapple · 08/05/2012 21:28

ponyo I'm watching it too...started blubbing as soon as I saw the 1st wee boy.

ILovePonyo · 08/05/2012 21:30

The little baby granny? Oh its heartbreaking, don't know how these parents cope - but they just do I suppose.

reastie well I'm not putting a bloody fireguard around the telly Grin Wink Yes A wants to bash it onto her head Hmm

ledkr · 08/05/2012 21:31

ponyo Dilly is clingy all the time, just wants to be carried about.

She hits the tv and us and my laptop and Ella and anything really.
Shouting a reacting wont help. You need to take her away quietly and without eye contact. You are giving the message if you do that you get nothing at all. If she hits me I put her down and walk off.

Right thats my professional advice now heres ledkrs. D takes no notice whatsoever so i shut the lounge and keep her in the kitchen Grin
They hit the tv cos its what they see get the most attention Blush

mizk Liverpool are now beating chelsea 4-1 just when it doesnt matter Angry

ILovePonyo · 08/05/2012 21:42

Grin ledkr - I try and say no thats it/ignore but might have laughed a bit when she she was chuckling away like it was the funniest thing in the world Blush If I shut the door to the kitchen she cries and sits in front of it til I open it again, grr.

MizK · 08/05/2012 21:46

ponyo we have a prob with the sofa, she's allowed to climb on one but the other is in the bay window so she isn't allowed - and absolutely screams blue murder when we stop her....I just say in a v OTT calm voice, Silly girl crying, come and play with Teddy/eat raisins/empty my makeup all over the floor :) You choose your battles don't you! Just try to be more stubborn than she is, as a personal challenge!
ledkr DP will still be glad, he texted me in delight when it was 3 - nil. I may have to start stealing info from you so I can surprise him with my knowledge - the only ones I know are Stevie G and the sexy bald goalie :)
