Thx Fliss!! Almost looking forward to my night feeds tonight so I can look at all the pics! Had a quick flick & all the babies are gorgeous! As are the mummies & it's lovely to put a face to the Mumsnet names :-)

justhayley · 09/06/2012 00:03

Lovin having a look at everyone's babies on Facebook they are all so cute. Although it's making me realise that Noah is still quite small in comparison. I might pop into the HV tomorrow for a weigh in I think he should be 9lbs + now (8 weeks on Sunday).

managed to stretch all feeds to 3 hours today so hopefully that will continue tonight really don't want to go back to the 1 1/2 2 hour feeds.

DP is home this weekend Grin his mums going to have Noah for a few hours tomorrow so we can go for dinner or something. I'm nervous about leaving him. My mum looked after him yesterday for a few hours but she's spent a lot of time with him so Knows what he likes and doesn't, DPs mum has only seen him 4 times & iv been there, I'm sure he'l be ok but I hate the thought of him being upset & im not there as he only really settles with me!

I'm off to bed now - later than planned, hopefully won't be on here till the morning Grin

Night all xx

laughingGnomette · 09/06/2012 17:25

I hope you have a nice few hours away from Noah tonight Hayley.

My DS has developed an annoying habit of being wide awake from around 11pm/midnight until 4am. No amount of feeding, nappy changes or cuddles helps to get him sleepy and he won't take a dummy. He'll then sleep through until 8am and then through until lunchtime. Its really hard work, particularly on DP who has to get up for work at 7am. I just hope it gets a bit better soon. I've thought about trying to keep him awake as much in the evening as possible to tire him out but I'm worried that'll just make him cranky!

kat1885 · 09/06/2012 18:05

Aww bless you its hard work when they don't sleep when they should. Are you able to get a nap in when he sleeps in the morning? Xx

My grandmother and auntie came for the day to visit Aaron for the first time today. We had a lovely time and took both boys to the park after lunch and had a cream tea when we got back. Wonderful.

LaTristesse · 09/06/2012 18:45

Thanks for the empathy Jelly, we're using Gaviscon, which made DS horribly constipated but so far doesn't seem to be having the same effect with DD thank heavens... Doesn't seem to be doing much good either mind, but it's still early days. Difficult Administering meds when you're bf though, technique so far is syringing it in round the side of my nipple while she's feeding - not helping her latch any I'm sure! The worst bit is trying to cope with DS who gets very stressed and flappy when she starts kicking off, poor boy is a bit sensitive, although to be fair, the crying is pretty intense! Oh well, altogether now 'This too shall pass...'

Who is KR? Smile

Yummymummyyobe1 · 09/06/2012 20:51

We have had a nightmare day with Harry. He has cried almost non stop all day. He has only had 16oz of feed today (4 feeds) and has only just fallen asleep. DP was doing the bathroom and I had Harry all day and actually cried a few times when I had exhausted all reasons for the tears. xx

HollyPockett · 09/06/2012 21:32

yummymummy sounds like you had a really stressy day. When was Harry due.? Does his fussiness coincide with a leap as in the Wonder Weeks book? You should get some sleep now, while you can

Thaleia · 09/06/2012 21:36

does someone now if babies are gaining or losing weight during a growth spurt? I'm so scared as I'm not sure if Raphael is gradually going down, down, down ...

digitalgirl · 09/06/2012 21:40

Have requested to join the fb group Smile. I'm AA.

Think F having a growth spurt, or his jabs on Thurs have thrown him out of sync - was up more than usual the last couple of nights. Mustn't complain too much as he's still better than his big brother, but blood test shows I'm still low in iron so feeling the lack of sleep a bit more than I should. Trying to fix it with spatone as the pills do not agree with me.

yummy hope H has crying now, it is heartbreaking when that happens especially when you can't have a break Sad. Hopefully he'll have a nice long sleep now.

We had the neighbours over and I made pizzas from scratch. F obliged by sleeping over lunch, waking only for a 5 minute feed. Making up for it now. Has been cluster feeding since 5pm. Hoping this means he's tanking up for the night as my eyes are on stalks right now.

Jellybellyrbest · 09/06/2012 21:58

Oh Yummy, poor you. That's so so stressful. Have you been able to hand him over to Daddy this evening for a break? Is 16oz much less than his usual daily amount? Not sure if you read the posts about the book & app called the Wonder Weeks? They describe developmental leaps babies make. These leaps cause increased crying & general changes in behaviour while they're happening. There's one at around 7-9 weeks & maybe that's what's up....hopefully Harry will settle for you soon. Hope your night's ok: sending you a virtual hug. Xx

katieelh · 09/06/2012 22:19

Ooh KR is me. Yummy I hope you have had a more peaceful few hours this evening.

kat1885 · 09/06/2012 22:22

Yummy I'm sorry you've had a rough day. How much does harry usually take?

Aaron is currently asleep in my arms and I don't want to put him down. I know I should but I'm enjoying my cuddle.

Bunsouttheoven · 10/06/2012 04:11

Sleep. What is that?Smile

Flisspaps · 10/06/2012 08:28

Thaleia during a growth spurt they gain weight - but it may be length rather than bulk so they look thinner IYSWIM.

Don't forget, if Raphael is actually gaining weight but not on certain centile line, that's ok. If he's actually losing weight that's a reason to investigate. As always though, weight is just one sign of a baby getting sufficient milk - wet and dirty nappies, and meeting milestones are generally better gauges.

These HVs have really got you worrying haven't they, by concentrating just on weight, when you should be enjoying this time Sad

You could weigh him yourself at home to get a rough idea of if he's really lost weight, if he has gained something I'd wait a few weeks before seeing the HB again if at all

newmummyvicky · 10/06/2012 11:10

digalgirl lyra had her jabs Friday, and she has been up alot in the night. last night feeding every 2-3 hours, where has my good sleeping baby gone?

Feeling tired this morning, last night was bad! Might be another growth spurt? She 10 weeks next week. Either that or the new cot mobile? hubby put on when she was going to bed at 10ish, kept her a wake till 1045. Then after each feed she was looking at it. Ending up pulling it down at 3.30 this morning!
grandma is coming over later the watch her for a few hours! Might try to sleep then!

digitalgirl · 10/06/2012 12:04

Vicky F was back to his usual pattern last night so if it was jabs it only affected him for two nights. Hopefully L will be back to normal tonight too.

Feeling tonnes better after a good chunk of sleep. F went down at 10 after a mammoth feeding session then stirred just before 4 so I fed him. A couple of false starts at 6 and 6.30 but up properly at 7.30.
Have done the washing up, hoovered, put a load in the washing machine and now dh is back from work we're off to take ds1 swimming and F and I will be spectating (still can't go in the water as lochia spotting hasn't quite stopped yet).

Yummymummyyobe1 · 10/06/2012 13:06

Thanks ladies H is still grizzly today although much much better. He usually has 32oz a day on top of BF. I missed that thread about wonder weeks, is it any good. For the first time Harry managed to poo all over me. He waited until the nappy was off and then releasedd wind with more poo. All over my dress, arm and neck???

He has aim I will give him that.

xx

VintageNancy · 10/06/2012 13:58

Had a great day with Emily yesterday. She was happy & smiley and no where near as fussy. I think we're through the wonder week (patterns). 12 days til the next one according to the app. Grin

I've just been catching up with FB and all the latest photos. They're all such cuties!

VintageNancy · 10/06/2012 14:01

Oh my god yummy - hope you were at home when that happened??
There's a Wonder Weeks app if you don't want to buy the book. It's seeming pretty accurate for us so far. There is a developmental leap around 8 weeks which I think (hope) we've just come through.

VintageNancy · 10/06/2012 14:03

Digi you've been very productive today Smile. Yay for more sleep!

HenriettaChicken · 10/06/2012 16:28

It seems I'm not alone in having an unhappy baby today...lots of crying and pooing. Sad

He's also been hungry really often, but not for big amounts.

It's breaking my heart, poor little boy.

May have to download that app and see if it's relevant to him. He is 7+5 but was 9 days late.

Btw, Yummy that's damn impressive!

VintageNancy · 10/06/2012 17:01

Could be Hen - Emily is 8+2 but was 9 days late and she seems to be through it.

newmummyvicky · 10/06/2012 17:46

digitalgirl You sound like, you have done loads today?
Ive done no housework, and i seem to have a pain in my hand, it think its all the lifting of the carseat and pram yesterday.

Im hoping L will be back to normal sleep tonight! will BF at 10pm tonight and settle her. NO cot mobile tonight lol. Finger crossed for 4 hrs in a row or maybe 6? if im lucky....

Yummy sorry your little one is still grizzly, hopefully its just an off day?
Ive checked out the www.thewonderweeks.com and signed up to emails.

We've had an interesting weekend as DH (who is self employed) found out the office building where he rents space has been sold. It's 5 mins walk from our house so if he has to move out he will no longer be close by, which will be a pity for me and DD. He will find out tomorrow if the new owners will let him stay (we suspect they want to renovate the whole building).

Ideally DH would like a home office (his study is now the nursery) so this has put the pressure on to decide whether we move to a bigger house soon (we only have 2 beds).

We went to scope out some houses in a nearby area we both like and it ended up being a 7k walk! DD slept in the buggy all the way and I've been plonked on the sofa since then to reward myself for my exercise efforts.

The thought of moving to a bigger house is exciting and would love to have DH back working at home again, but also a lot to manage with a small baby. Watch this space!
