Turned off my computer and nasty excel. Baba in bed. Gin and tonic in my hand. Homemade chicken Kiev and skinny fries coming up. Life is good!

seven77 · 14/04/2012 21:36

Well done LMF, hope you all had a good time.

kate if you're capable of running you're significantly fitter than I am. I really need to make an effort to lose the extra two stone few pounds from pregnancy. Pasta and garlic bread for tea tomorrow so my diet will officially start on Monday morning.

mopsy enjoy the G&T!

Hope everyone is having a good weekend. All is good here, million pound drop, blossom hill and knitting a rainbow striped cardie!

Evening everyone - just back this evening from a few days at my parents with Freya and DS and DH is away mountain biking today and tomorrow morning so a quick catch up post and then off to bed.

We had a nice time at my parents - I definitely appreciate them more now I have DCs of my own. Met up with some uni friends and kids for a walk and pub lunch one day, DS got to ride his bike in the forest a couple of times, we went on a steam train and to the animal park, so he had a nice time. Freya was her usual happy self and I got 3 hours free to have my hair cut and go shopping, so good times all round. Think my parents are now shattered though! I had Freya in the cot in my room so am a bit tired as she is a real fidget bottom between 1 and 4am I discovered (she has been in her own room at home since about 6 weeks) and has also been suffering sleep regression by waking for milk at 4am ,whereas she used to sleep through. She goes back down easily till 7am though so can't complain. I think I will hold off on the solids until at least 5 months though as she is not that big really (13lb 5oz last week).

Kate - how was the pelvic floor with your run? I am going to try again soon as depressingly discovered I am a stone over my pre pregnancy weight whilst at my parents, whereas I had been kidding myself I only had half a stone to lose. Am off on holiday in 2 months and tried on a swim suit and bikini the other day - yuk is all I can say. I think a diet and exercise regime will start on monday. Exercise regime not helped by being unable to run due to pelvic floor/possible prolapse though.

Right - to bed to bed. Hope LOs sleep well tonight.

seven the app is myfitnesspal - it's been great so far to track calories and exercise. If any of you use it, I'm Tyelperion on there too - friend me! Smile I have lost 5kg since Feb and have at least another 8kg to go. Went "running" today (alternating 90 secs running, 60 secs walking!) and thurs and I am so incredibly sore - also ordered the 30 day shred which should arrive Monday.

On the breastfeeding in the US thing, I did see babies being given bottles so maybe everyone is only breastfeeding at home and expressing for out and about? My mother was certainly very nervous whenever I fed DS in public because she said in 2 years in DC she has never seen anyone feeding either - in fact until I got the card saying I had the right to feed DS anywhere she actually thought it might be illegal bc of public exposure/indecency laws - like how Facebook banned breastfeeding photos. Confused

Just back from the wedding. It was lovely. The sun shone ( mostly), the bride looked stunning, the groom looked handsome, everyone had a great time. Alistair stole the show in his gorgeous outfit, with his spiky hair and cherubim cheeks, and he was an angel. He gurgled and cooed in all the right places and stole everyone's hearts.
I wore the fascinator. It looked nice. I don't know if we took many photos of me, but I'll try and post some of Ali tomorrow. :)
I was the designated driver. I am now having a martini. Grin

msbuggywinkle · 15/04/2012 01:20

Aaaaaaaaaaargh.

DD1 has set a new personal best for staying awake tonight. She went to sleep twenty minutes ago. Look at that time stamp. 1 a-sodding-m.

Of course now I am totally past being tired.

BeeMyBaby · 15/04/2012 03:22

tyel maybe its the heinously short mat leave that means although lots of mothers start bfing (I think they have higher rates of bfing initially) it really is impossible to maintain supply through expressing at work (/soul destroying).

LittleMissFlustered · 15/04/2012 04:25

So far it's been 11, 1, 2 and 4. We went to bed at 9.

I may possibly be tired >_

neverenoughsleeportea · 15/04/2012 04:58

tyel I also have the 30 day shred but have only done it once fancy buddying up and actually doing it over 30 days to see what we can shift?

aethelfleda · 15/04/2012 05:27

I've got the 30 day shred but for the sake of my bosoms there is no WAY I'm doing it til I've finished the majority of breastfeeding. Too much jumping even with the best sports bra going!

However, I'll see you a bit later with that one:have a whole shelf of exercise DVDs, they work very well if kept up and combined with sensible eating.

aethelfleda · 15/04/2012 05:29

Ps are you --crazy ladies planning to do one 20 min riutine daily, or 2 or 3? There are 3 on the DVD but 60 mins of that stuff looks very intense!

LittleMissFlustered · 15/04/2012 06:41

I'm adding 5 and 6:30 to my list.

I'm taking my son off my Christmas card list if this carries on:o

I think the sooner he's in a room with his brother the better for us all. Time to go to B&Q for paint methinks.

neverenoughsleeportea · 15/04/2012 07:34

lmf sounds like you'll be mainlining coffee today.

We had 11.30, 4 and 7 over here so pretty good but interrupted by DH decamping to the spare room (think I was snoring Blush) and DS1 yelling about something or other.

One of my bridesmaids is coming over for lunch and she lives at the other end of the country so haven't seen her for over a year. She is off to Canada for three months mountain biking and bless her she suggested I get my mum to look after the boys while I came out for a couple of weeks for a break.... Bless her!

aethelfleda I think you are meant to do one of the workouts for 10 day stints as apparently they get harder. So it should be doable while DS1 has a nap provided DS2 cooperates and doesn't need feeding at the same time.

aethelfleda · 15/04/2012 07:47

DS was pretty good overnigt BUT....

...woken at 7.30 after two early morning feeds, we'd just been dpzing in bed and having a snuggle....And then monster puke all over me, my hair, duvet, pillow. Grim, grim, grim!!! Had to shower immediately as there was so much sick in my hair it would have been totally gross to do anything else. Mopsy I feel your pain from the previous hair-related post.....

mopsytop · 15/04/2012 08:14

Ugh aethel, I heartily sympathise. You were right to shower, if you leave it your hair goes like concrete. Ugh ugh ugh!!! Glamourtastic!

BJR · 15/04/2012 08:22

Morning all! Have been off the radar for most of the week with randomly rubbish internet connection (its suddenly decided to be dodgy) so only get a couple of minutes into catching up with posts before it cuts out. It seems better this morning so I may actually get to read a few more of the posts.

Right must go inject coffee into DP so he gets out of bed to get DSS.

AnAirOfHope · 15/04/2012 08:37

Can antibiotics be admined by injection for a baby?

Can i by thrush treatment for both me and hope over the counter or do i have to see a dr?

AnAirOfHope · 15/04/2012 08:38

PS ouch and HELP

DeterminedandSpecialMum · 15/04/2012 08:51

Air Spk to the pharmacist they are pretty good on advising what to do.

Sky woke at 3:50 this morning. Have decided when she hits 17weeks on Thursday to give her some baby rice before she goes to bed and see if that takes her thru the night again. She's still only on 7oz 5 times a day however, is beginning to get interested in what we are eating.

Watching F1 and another relaxing day for me as still feel like I've got elephants stamping on my back Sad

Xiaoxiong · 15/04/2012 08:56

never I would love to - if you can download the myfitnesspal app, we can be friends and see whether we've done the workout every day. Or we can start our own thread over in the weightloss section here. Anyone else want to join in? My goal is to lose 8kg (I think that's about a stone and a half?)

aethel I'm a 34G at the moment and have been wearing a sports bra over a hot milk nursing bra to go running. It's worked a treat - also feeding Pirran just before I go.

I nearly wrote "worked a teat" instead of treat out of tiredness. That is because Pirran has clearly been on babiesnet and got the idea to spend most of last night either feeding, thrashing or roaring and only feeding would calm him down Hmm

Xiaoxiong · 15/04/2012 08:58

Oh and speaking of joining in, anyone within striking distance of Eton want to come over for lunch on Weds? We are only 20 min from Paddington and I can promise a very special celebrity guest!! (you know who you are) Grin

Figgygal · 15/04/2012 09:11

Morning all

Another crap night here LO woke at 3.45 for the third morning running but then we had an extra special 5.15 stop too before he finally decided it was up time at 6.45 as usual. He was horrible most of yesterday crying grizzly refusing to sleep and still refusing to eat. He starts a bottle has half or so then coughs and splutters refuses to take rest for about an hour. Maybe he finally is full it's NEVER happened before so just don't know. He's had infacol in case it's wind and teething gel incase it's teeth but its no fun!! Because of all the silliness with the bottles he's dropped his milk quantities the last few days and then of course he's woken up at night. He is on size 2 teats and has been for weeks so wondering if need to change them again or if it's teething or if it's sleep regression. It's so hard to Tell because it seems any symptoms or changes of behaviour can be for a number of things.

The good thing though was after he went down finally at 8.30 I lay on the bed to watch him on the monitor for 5 mins to make sure he slept next thing I knew it was midnight and I'd been asleep in all my clothes, my glasses had slept thru a no. Of attempts by DH to wake me up so I actually don't feel too bad......yet Smile

Good luck to the ladies on a exercise burn I've got the "oh I've only 5lbs go to" apathy forgetting I was prob half a stone more than I like to be when I got pg anyway. Fallen out of my no bread/going walking/zumba routine and need to stop having biscuits in the fridge.

Well done to Ali yesterday!!

aethelfleda · 15/04/2012 10:19

I'll be on that weightloss thread in about 4-5 months when I'm mixfeeding or FFing DS, I will, have the usual two stone of breastfeeding weight to shift: usually takes me 6-10 months to do as I favour low'n'slow weight loss over crazy cabbage diets...

In the meantime bring on the cooking. Had friends around yesterday and made risotton(chicken and mushroom for the DDs and chicken and chorizo for the grownups. Usually we all have the same, but there's a limit to their spice intake). I love cooking but does anyone else find it's hard to make time to source nice ingredients sometimes?

aethelfleda · 15/04/2012 10:20

Ps have now got an image of figgy crammed into the fridge secretly snarfing biscuits....
