Sorry that sounds wrong. Obviously I was awake when she was upset and crying, I meant that in addition to that even when she was asleep I was awake or only dozing as afraid of rolling onto her or something as we never co slept before. She's back in her cot now and I'm hoping it will be ok. Right on cue, she has woken up crying ...!

LittleMissFlustered · 07/04/2012 22:48

Snot is the work of the goblins for babies as they can't understand why their nose suddenly hates them:( I had a massive snot sneezed onto my boob this morning, and grim as it was, the relief on octopants' face as he was able to feed properly again was palpable.

Feeling but unwell. Don't think lunch has agreed with me, or to be more frank don't think lunch was heated up properly

Kitty5824 · 08/04/2012 00:09

Just wanted to wish everyone a happy easter weekend.

We are mid move.

Phase 1 was the initial van load (we have so much shit stuff that the 3.5tn van wasn't big enough!!) yesterday, cleaning/unpacking the kitchen yesterday evening and move re-arranging of still sealed boxes today.

Phase 2 will be tomorrow - up early after Seb's 5am feed to drive back up the M6 to get the rest of our stuff except what DH needs for next week. Granny is having Seb all day [bugrin]

Will be internet free for however long it takes sky to sort out the broadband so look forward to skim reading a gazzilion posts when I get back on line.

scoobyd00 · 08/04/2012 03:22

Another snotty one here, but then he has been since day 1, it's just different degrees of snottiness! I'm sure that's the reason he wakes so often for feeding.
Good to hear you're feeling a bit more positive lmf, you're doing a great job.
aethel have your credit cards melted after your Internet shopping spree? I've given up bread and can't wait for a hot cross bun for breakfast!
mopsy hope the snot has settled and you're getting a bit more sleep.

BeeMyBaby · 08/04/2012 03:43

Oi you definitely shouldn't feel bad about getting presents - its not a normal thing to do for easter so its not like you should be expected to return the gift, plus £5 on eggs seems more than enough for small children - I think its very different now compared to when we were children as one egg seems satisfactory rather than having 10 each. Also could you look at gumtree for a bedside crib or has Boi almost grown out of his anyway?

YBR · 08/04/2012 06:57

Happy Easter everyone!

BabyYBR is heading for sleep regression: up at 5:30 the last few mornings, which is completely wrecking the routine we used to have. Time to figure out a new one.
Busy day today so I'm praying she won't be too grissly (we're just blaming everything on teething atm!)

LittleMissFlustered · 08/04/2012 07:52

Happy Easter for those of you celebrating:)

aethel have you relinquished your hold on facebook yet?Wink

I'm off for coffee and to look out some matchsticks to prop my eyes open with >_

aethelfleda · 08/04/2012 08:01

Morning! Feeds at 11.30, 1, 3 and 5, due to snot waking DS up: the annoying dry sort that's impossible to shift but blocks a nostril making him snort and cough himself awake. I hope this doesn't become a regular thing as he was starting to get much better with nights and we're headed directly into the Sleep Regression Bermuda Triangle right now...

Thanks for the concern for my credit cards sc00by! I have fortunately the nature of a spendthrift cheapskate, so my last two purchases prior to internet freedom were school uniform for the children (plus some knickers and a £5 pair of sale trousers for me), and a custom pair of knotted wool shorties for DS (am still trying the idea of wool covers: the first pair I bought were fab but too big yet, so am getting a pair that claim to be 3-12 month size til he'a big enough for the other ones. My bank account she groaned slightly but has not handed in er resignation. Though has suddenly occurred that I'm on SMP so need to behabe better until back to work..

aethelfleda · 08/04/2012 08:02

Lmf: am getting a big cuppa tea then will check it out! Do you have a differnt name on there?

aethelfleda · 08/04/2012 08:18

Aha, don't answer that LmF, have found you all on FB! Will get reading and then post to say hi.

LittleMissFlustered · 08/04/2012 09:18

Welcome home old beanWink

OiMissus · 08/04/2012 09:54

Just as I'd given up the thought of ever having our bed to ourselves again, and the distant thought of uninterrupted sleep, BOi only woke once last night, at 3am. After some jiggling he settled back in the crib AND THEN SLEPT TIL 9!!! Whoop whoop whoop!
Sorry to those with little snot monsters. BOi's just got rid of his. His chest sounds slightly rattley now, but he seems happy.
I think I've decided against the jumperoo on the grounds that he can't cover distance in it. At the moment he loves being on his feet and likes to "walk" -he makes the steps, I just hold his weight. So I think something that allows him to get around would be the right next move. Any recommendations?
bee I had thought about a bedside crib, but he'll be going up into his cot in a couple of months, it hardly seems worth it. And as for Easter presents, you are right, a token chocolate egg is enough. It is not Christmas.

LittleMissFlustered · 08/04/2012 10:10

The kids have given up on choc (eldest ate a full egg, four year old a third of one) and are currently shouting at the telly/wii. I'm about to go put the pork in the oven for lunch/dinner. Drinking tea with caffeine in, it was a bastard of a that sort of night.

NorthernChinchilla · 08/04/2012 10:58

Joining people on the bastard night front. For some reason, my eyesight seems to have gone from just bad to appalling overnight, so I can't see the clock from my bed...I therefore have no idea how many times and at what time I'm waking to feed DS although it is many.
However, I do know that I woke about half three and didn't get back off til half five- just 'because', I think, though it didn't help that DS coughed so loudly that he set the white noise box off in his cot [buconfused]! Didn't get a great deal of sleep after that, so DP got a little present of a son delivered to him by the Easter bunny with instructions to bugger off go downstairs and give me some rest.

Glad you're perkier LMF, despite the crappy night; hope your feeling off-it does not mutate into anything projectile. And (here's a sentence I'd never considered before!) hope the snot bomb wasn't too grim and glad the Octopus was relieved!

And you're a braver woman than I doing any camping jiggle, let alone with children. I mean, I'm the most low-maintenance woman going, but even I draw the line at going anywhere without a proper toilet [buwink]!

Think we'll go to the new garden centre in the area, where I will try not to buy any more plants, and we need stuff for the chins. Other than that, the three of us will settle in front of the TV for the rather important games this afternoon, whoop!

MissRee · 08/04/2012 11:51

New garden centre Northern?? where is this? I love garden centres Grin shame I don't have a garden

aethelfleda · 08/04/2012 12:11

Aaaahh, backnonline. Bliss. Been showing the Mil some of our fantasy-shop-properties, have had a quick Facebook pootle, and visited the BBc News website (to discover there is No News).

Had to sample my green&blacks 70% choc egg, just or quality checking purposes, y'understand...

GeeandTee · 08/04/2012 13:04

Happy Easter everybody! [Busmile]

I am feeling really happy today and feel very blessed with such a lovely family. Might be helped by the 2 hour lie in DH gave me (was up 1.30 - 4am with windy DD) and half of a Green and Black egg for breakfast ;) We went to a lovely church service and DS behaved really well and enjoyed the singing and DD giggled and shreiked on her back for a while, did some good tummy time then fell asleep on my shoulder just in time for communion. We got lots of compliments today on our little family .

I think it just feels like however hard it has been recently it is all worth it in the end and we are so blessed to have happy and healthy children.

There was a couple in front of us who lost their baby at 3 weeks to a freak virus. I didn't mention it at the time as didn't want to worry anyone. But it just brought home that despite all the sleepless nights, teething, illness, family issues etc etc it is all worth it.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day and that the chocolate helps with tiredness etc! X

GeeandTee · 08/04/2012 13:05

Oops [busmile]

seven77 · 08/04/2012 13:09

Happy Easter everyone!

Glad youre feeling better lmf.

aethel you must be very relieved your Internet ban is over, and well do e scooby, there's no way I could live without bread!

DS woke me at 4.30 after he'd wet the bed. I think it's a result of GOSH, he'd previously done it 3 times in the last year, now it's been twice in a week. Eva has been in a grump all morning, she's now waking up so fingers crossed for a better afternoon!

MissRee · 08/04/2012 13:10

I'm jealous of the Green & Blacks Easter eggs Aethel and Gee!!! [bgrin]

I have a mini eggs and a dairy milk one though so I'm happy!

NorthernChinchilla · 08/04/2012 13:54

We have two Easter eggs, a G&B butterscotch one and a Thorntons fudge one. However, owing to the massive chocolate cake made for our friend and whopping box of Thorntons he gave us, we haven't even started on them!

We're fans of Millbrook MissRee, but there's a new Dobbies at Gillingham just off Hoath Way that I'm going to check out on the recommendation of friends.

Hope DS feels better soon seven, it really sounds like they gave him an awful time at GOSH.

Like you Gee, although on a slightly less wholesome note [bublush] I'm having a lovely family day; DS in his football onesie, me with a glass of cider as I explain why QPR's five-man midfield is far too defensive, both curled up on the floor. DP will be changing DS into his other onesie come the later kick-off!

MissRee · 08/04/2012 17:09

Millbrook is good but quite expensive! Hawley garden centre in Dartford is pretty good.

Freya got lots of clothes (and some super cute jelly shoes) for Easter! It's all about the eggs but what do you get for a 3-month old who can't have choccy yet? SIL did get her some rusks for when she starts weaning if I don't eat them first

Happy Easter everyone, hope you get lots of lovely choccy Grin

OiMissus · 08/04/2012 17:10

Hey all, we brought a giant mini eggs egg around to our friends' for the footie. Although we haven't cracked it open yet (on the prosecco and crisps for now). Smile
My granddad's on the way out. Sad He's got pneumonia and is not really conscious. Tis just a matter of time now. (He seemed out of it on Thursday when Ali and I visited him.) He's 93, and was independent and fairly fit until less than a year ago when dementia started. I hope it goes quickly now. This is no life. He's wanted out for a while now. I've so much respect for him and the life he has led (his war stories are great) - his end has been cruel. Poor granddad. Xxx

Happy Easter All

Oi so sorry to hear about your granddad.

No eggs here as we're rubbish & never think to get any 'til it's too late but we popped out & got a few giant bars of chocolate instead. Nothing as fancy as G&B's as my taste in chocolate changed massively during pregnancy from the best 85% dark choc I could afford to the cheapest sweetest milk choc I can get my hands on [buconfused]

Can't remember who asked but I'll be spending my little windfall learning to drive as relying on public transport down here is driving me nuts. DP isn't being particularly supportive but I need to do it for me so I'm ignoring him.

My little snot monster managed to sleep quite well last night but I only got a few hours due to an annoying tickly cough so I'm running on caffeine & chocolate >_< . I really miss decongestants; surely Big Pharma could come up with more medicines that are safe to take while bfing [buangry] (mildly irritated more than angry really but I do love these bunny smileys [buwink])

LittleMissFlustered · 08/04/2012 18:18

Enjoy the driving lessons, I think the independence will be super for you:)
