Ooh, hope people are off getting holiday and some sleep!
And 24 hours til my lenten facebook denial is over (not that I'm counting!)

itsybitsy08 · 07/04/2012 03:29

Yes athel - 4 1/2 hours of it oooh lucky me!

GeeandTee · 07/04/2012 04:32

I've had 3 and a half hrs so far ;( just can't get DD back in her cot. She's writhing and grizzling like she has wind but not got any up and been up since 1.30am! Think she is due a pooplosionm so maybe that is making her uncomfortable. Just so exhausted and think am getting a cold too, feel shivery and have headache. Although 4 months of not much sleep is going to take its toll somehow. Even got DH up to help but it doesn't make much difference as I can't get back to sleep anyway :(

AnAirOfHope · 07/04/2012 06:55

Morning

pass a marsmellow and coffee pls.

I sent dh to asda last night to get hotcross buns and pringles. He got beer pringles and pop. No hotcross buns in sight gerrrr

DeterminedandSpecialMum · 07/04/2012 07:19

Air Beer pringles don't sound nice!

AnAirOfHope · 07/04/2012 07:25

Hehehe

it was a bottle of trical stout not beer!

aethelfleda · 07/04/2012 07:37

Morning

feeds at 3am, 4.30 and 5.30 here, then lovely DH took him doenstairs to play from 6-7.30 to give me an extra nap.

Now for a cuppa tea and make sure we take raincoats to bekenscot!

scoobyd00 · 07/04/2012 07:43

Nights are no better here either. Would have had a lie in as DS2 only just woken up but DS1 woke at 6am, typical!
lmf how are you feeling? I hope you've had a better night and things are a little less blue this morning. I've given up pretending that I'm doing brilliantly on my own and tell people exactly how hard it is when they ask. Had horrible moment last night when DS1 was crying out for his daddy [busad].

aethelfleda · 07/04/2012 08:04

((((hug)))) and a for sc00by, you're doomg a fab job. DS1 won't remember the crying in long run. It's a bit twee, I know, but every day is a day closer to your DP getting home to you... Do you have an exact term of service for him or is it something that's only rough timing?

LMF, I'm taking a thermos with me so available all day, hope you're managing and your DCs are giving you a break...

BeeMyBaby · 07/04/2012 08:36

Gee No sign of any spots, definitely happy that DH made us miss the play date with DN.

aethal doesn't the lenten fast end today? I am planning on celebrating with some delicious marmalade on my toast... and maybe some delicious yoghurt later I am done with fibre!

NorthernChinchilla · 07/04/2012 08:44

DS is sitting here helping me type this, so it's going to take some time...

NorthernChinchilla · 07/04/2012 09:01

LMF, I hope this morning is better for you, and that the demons are now on a restricted diet. You are not an unfit mother; no-one will think so from a 'professionals' point of view, and no-one will think so from a personal view, friends, family, etc. And if anyone did, they would be a) wrong and b) in need of dropping quickly.

I really hope you get a bit more sleep.

I generally only use the dummy during the day HLC, just to help him get off. At night I just feed him to sleep and put him down, although if he does stir at that point I'll pop it in. It has not stopped him waking at just gone ten the past couple of nights for his next feed, believe me! Hope yours and Rocco's colds improve.

Sorry your wee boy is out of sorts aethel, most unlike him. Hope you have a not-too-damp-day at Bekenscot.

Drizzly, mizzly day here. DP sleeping in the bed in DS's room for complicated reasons owing to friend staying. Have just put DS in his cot so may go and join DP for half an hour...

OiMissus · 07/04/2012 10:01

scooby i can't imagine how tough it must be sometimes for you, keeping your and your LO's spirits up. Well done missus, you deserve the golden tribbles (whatever they are!).
BOi will not sleep in his crib. As soon as he's put there he wakes and cries. I tried being tougher with him last night, but in the end my sleep was too precious so he co-slept again. We're definitely going backwards.
We did a full day at the Trafford centre yesterday. We failed miserably to get a nice outfit for BOi for next weekend's wedding, but I think I can put together some nice separates- with his Next skinny tan jeans, White company white polo bodysuit and a beige tank top from mamas n p's.
Likewise I'm going to raid my existing wardrobe. I saw a gorgeous bright orange raffia-like handbag that I have to own, so I'll build something around that...

Morning All!

Do you remember sometime last year I found my grandfather's name on the unclaimed assets register after watching an episode of Heir Hunters? Well my mum has finally received the money from his estate & as I put in all the work for the claim & discovered the estate in the first place she agreed to split it with me. It's not a lottery win but I'll be getting £1k next week [bugrin]

In other news, I'm sure it's just a weird coincidence but I bought Rocco one of those amber teething anklets & he's a lot less dribbly after wearing it for 3 days. Honestly I don't think it could be working [bublush] but I'm not going to take it off! He only had 1 bib change yesterday, usually has at least 6. Probably just a weird side effect of his cold though, like the excessive pooing >_<

Could you turn his crib into a cosleeper by taking a side off Oi so that he's at the same level & you can keep a hand on him until he falls asleep? Might get him used to sleeping in it?

aethelfleda · 07/04/2012 13:19

Hooray, fresh air is agreeing with Albert: his grumps have turned off like magic and he's back to his usual smiley self. Phew!

Fab news of the windfall honey, are you going to get something as a momento? We once won the "jackpot" (£200) on a one-armed bandit on holiday and bought a bookshelf with most of it: we still call it the "casino bookshelf".

That's a bugger about the crib Oi; you will get there in the end though, I always just think 'well, they won't be doing X when they're 15, so it's got to happen'!

And that's so cool HLC! Do let us know what you're spending it on.

I am luxuriating in the fact that we have 3 (well, 2.5 now) days together. We have to spend so much bloody time going from one end of the country to the other, or having people stay as we're so far from everyone, that it's bliss just having a bit of time to ourselves (in a 5 week span we've been to Devon, Lancashire, had friend from middle East stay and are off to Hertfordshire next weekend) at home.
We've walked to the shops, and am going to do my nails, reply to e-mails and actually finish the Saturday papers.

AnAirOfHope · 07/04/2012 16:11

Paperplane races and im winning yay.

We are having a chill day just our room left yo clean abd one more tipe run todo. We (iand air) havestarted on the easter eggs oops. We have been playing family games all morning and the it takeout and eatting with chopsticks later and a dvd and an early night as tomoro is blue planet. I love our family!

MissRee · 07/04/2012 16:57

I am so totally fed up with living on a building site now. We have tools, tiles, bathroom suite, radiator and building supplies piled all over our already too small house. I've stubbed my toes on so many things that I'm surprised my toenails haven't fallen off. Just trying to concentrate on the end product now. This too shall pass etc etc etc

I know what you mean Northern, it was the same in my household when I lived in Bristol. It gets very tiring after a while. Thankfully I didn't have children to worry about in those days!

OiMissus · 07/04/2012 17:58

The crib is borrowed, so unfortunately I can't saw off one side (otherwise I'd have done it from the start).
Went to SILs to deliver Easter eggs for a niece and a great nephew (a niece's 3rd old) at a total expense of £5, to find that SIL and the mummy/niece has bought BOi 2 outfits and 3 prs of pumps from Macro. Feel a bit bad.
Nevermind, it won't feel so bad after a hot x bun and a bit of Easter egg...

Thanks for all the support. Was a bit of a meltdown day yesterday. Full moon and all that. Had a quieter day today and tomorrow is going I be lovely as we're planning to eat our body weights in chocolate.

aethelfleda · 07/04/2012 21:11

Yay for chocolate... And for internet: I'm going back onto Facebook later. I may be some time.....

Camped out at MILs and feel much better, DDs loved bekenscot, and am feeling really welcome and a whole lot better. And have succumbed to a teeny little G&T. Hic. Happy Easter peeps...

OiMissus · 07/04/2012 21:17

Glad you're feeling chirpier lmf, and that you're feeling welcome at the MIL's Aethel. enjoy your chocolate everyone, and remember, it makes you thin!

Evening everyone - freya and I are at home again this evening after our second day of day time camping only! I feel a bit sorry for DH as he is left camping overnight with ds. We have actually been remarkably lucky with the weather so far but think the next two days are not likely to be so nice. We are just over in the Purbecks , which is only about half an hour from home, but we don't visit that often - it is beautiful along the coastline there. The inlaws are on the pitch next door to us so although MIL is driving me a bit nuts at times they are helping out a lot with the DCs. We felt it might be a bit cold for freya at night.

Yesterday DH and I got out for a mountain bike ride for 2-3 hours. It was gloriously warm and sunny and we had a beautiful ride and great coastal scenery. I realised it was the first time the two of us had really done anything just as the 2 of us since freya has been born and it was really nice.

Freya has been rather unsettled though and hardly managed to sleep at all today so was rather beside herself by 5pmish. I think she is teething and also the in laws failed to get her to have her lunch time sleep whilst we were out with ds.

Hope everyone has a fab easter. We are back out to the campsite tom am and SIL and BIL and nephew are joining us all for the day.

mopsytop · 07/04/2012 22:08

Hope you're all having a fab Easter weekend and that the Easter bunny pays a visit tomorrow!

Minimopsy unfortunately has a cold/cough, fullbof snot and coughing loads poor little mite. I'm praying it doesn't get worse and go to her chest. She had a horrid time last night, woke up coughing and crying several times and was so upset we actually had her in the bed between us as it was the only way to calm her. Never had to do that before. So aside from when she was awake/upset I didn't sleep well at all cos was worried about squashing her!! Fingers crossed she's happier tonight. It's awful to see them suffering and upset and not being able to really help.
