Baby - love the Sopranos.

Don't know how you cope without a dryer. Mine is on everyday. We would run out of clothes if I had to wait on the rads to dry them. Much prefer to put washing on the line - but will have to wait for summer for that.

Karma - dizzy with twins! God, she won't survive............Direct her to the local twins group. Best source of advice and support for multiple mums.

Welcome Edodgy, we are all a very friendly bunch on here, as you have no doubt realised whilst lurking!! Smile

Londoner & Diege - what is CSI!!?? God it's fantastic - I lurve it!!! Check out the website Golden posted.

Golden & Bob2 - are you addicted? I am, Miami is my favourite - Horatio is such a cool dude!!! But am also enjoying the latest series of Vegas on Channel 5.

Am also well into Prison Break (can't remember who said about that one) - it is soo addictive - have even checked out the website, which has all of the epsiode guides on it - just had to find out if the Dr escaped from the riot! And who is after Lincoln, and who is driving the conspiracy!!???

BoB - that other thread you have started is Fabulous! Has made me realise that most people are either int he north or the south - think I may be on my own in the midlands! If anyone every fancies a trip to historic Stratford - let me know!!
Also planning on emailing you for access to Oskars web site - just for a nosey!

Hope all are well, and in the throws of a good weekend. Went to see the vicar last weekend about T's christening - very good. We are hoping to check out the family service tomorrow - T likes music, so hopefully he'll be good - but if not, what the heck, it's all geared around children tomorrow anyway!!

Speak soon.

Karma - you are not the only saddo - Itoo shal be watching Just the two of Us - I want Chris & Jo to win - they are fab! And who on earth is that Sian woman? She is getting on my whatsits! Crocodile tears or what last night!!?? Think Penny was taking it all in the right spirit - she knew she couldn't sing and didn't care - she had much worse comments than Sian (or Shan as the annoying Lulu calls her)but you didn't see her blabbing all over the stage......Aagh - sorry needed to get that off my chest!! Grin

I went into Lush to buy some Dream Cream - and the assistants advised me to get Ultra Bland instead, as it is not as harsh (no tea tree in it) - am not sure I made the right choice, but they did give me a tester of the dream cream, so will see. The Ultra Bland can be used for Mummy as a cleanser or a lip balm, or apparently to put on cuts to stop them bleeding!? So we'll see, I am just a bit impatient and expect immediate results from stuff - unfortunately this is not always the case! Damn! Blush

Evening, just stealing a minute before the stepsons arrive (what is the acronym for these?).

I used to love CSI and Without a Trace but I don't seem to be able to watch them now that dd is here and I hate thinking of all the terrible things that happen in the world (have never been able to watch ER or Nip/Tuck or Six Feet Under either, even though they are so well written!). So I tend to go for unrealistic such as Alias, 24, Lost, the OC and Desperate Housewives. British series This Life (finally both parts out on DVD!), Between the Lines, STate of Play. Documentaries on Art History and Music (history of Jazz, Bob Dylan). Night feeds I have the earphones on and usually watch one Will and Grace on the little TV. I had a friend in HK who used to get the series there on dvd before we do but she has moved back here now (glad to have her back, miss the dvds...). I was glued to winter olympics and had serious withdrawal Monday but don't really have TV on during the day much now that dd is more interactive. Usually watch dvds if it is -- Will and Grace or Friends. I have the Baby Einstein series but mostly use it for music. AM not planning to let dd watch too much tv which will be quite a trick since we do. However, I didn't really watch TV as a kid so I think it will peter out as she gets older. Favourite yoga dvds are the Wai Lana series.

Can't read a book to save my life just now but when I do also tend to be escapist such as Marion Keyes, Sally Bauman, Nicolas Evans or kids books like Harry Potter or the Norther Lights trilogy.

Nova, use the sopranos to inspire you to be bold with the builders next door -- sounds totally annoying!

Londoner, would love to catch up re schools in Greenwich as am considering a move to the area from Canary Wharf once dd older. Can we meet? Tex, I liked the Good Schools Guide though it is pretty overwhelming!

Loved reading about your various weights I have been in stretchies since the summer. Ooops, steps arrived, must dash more soon.

xx

Diege - I WAS a size 8... [longing emoticon]

Bob2 I only see my HV when she asks to see me! which is 3 times so far I think and one next week. I prob. would hardly go if up to me, as so long as he's getting wet nappies, and growing out of his clothes I'm happy!

Yorkshire - mine had 2 growth spurts, one at 13 wks and one just b4 4 mths (lost track of the weeks Blush)

Its funny you lot talking about pooey vests cos I had one yesterday which I pulled over his head rolled under (hadn;t read about the other way yet!) and this morning his hair was smelling of poo - ugh!

Londoner - the hormones could explain it - it does feel like something that I can't help - like PMS - that's why I kept wondering if my period was coming! Feels a bit better today though after having put together a pot roast in the slowcooker to be ready for when we come back from church tomorrow - LOVE slow cookers! BTW with growth spurts, he's had his 3mth and 4mth ones - when's the next one from your experience?

Karma - Caleb hardly feeds at all the day after a growth spurt - i think they have their days. trouble is I think, oh he's sucking faster so he needs less time now yippee. Then I don't feed him enough and he cries before the next feed. Or he starts feeding longer, and I think oh he needs more milk bcos he's growing so I keep feeding him lots and he pukes up everywhere! Wish I could read his mind!

Busyalexsmummy · 04/03/2006 21:49

hamster-hiya, dont worry, i feel the same when i dont manage to get online for a week or more, it feels like you've missed so much and unless your prepared to sit and read hours and hours of posts, its hard to catchup. dont worry though, most of its just general chit chat/small talk and you can get back into the swing of things pretty easilySmile

yorkshirepuddling-hoolys milk intake seems fine and if shes on the 75th centile, shes doing well, personally I would only be concerned if it continued to drop dramically every weigh-in. why is the HV saying to get more milk in?

If it makes you feel any better, I dont even get alfie weighed at clinic-he hasnt been weighed since he was about 7 weeks old-Im not saying, dont get LO weighed, what Im saying is trust in your very powerful mothers instinct to know she is well+thrivingSmile

BOB-did you not get invite for yahoo group? email me at lizp20041984(at)hotmail(dot)com

tessasmum-Thanks, I cant wait for the pod to arrive, it should fit the powertrack as it states on the website that it does, its mainly from what i can see, the umbrella fold buggies that it doesnt fit

edodgy -welcome!Smile

goldenoldie-lol, yessss! glad someone else has confessed too, Im anougher bottle propper, usually at the evening feed as im running round the bedroom tidying up before he goes down for the night

Londoner-seen the podee bottles about 2yrs ago when i was surfing ebay, brill arent they, for twins i expect theyre very handy

Karmamother-can sympathise with the feeding, alfie seems to be getting more and more fussy when feeding and is constantly pulling off/looking around, its very annoying!

browniechick--are you getting T christened soon? ive been thinking about it alot in the last few days, am thinking june time as he should fit ds1s silk christening outfit then and it should be nice anough to have BBQ etc afterwards too

re-vests-I undo poppers, turn him over, roll pooey side inwards up to neck, pull over arms then pullk over head, never had any problems doing this

still got lurgy in our house. Had SIL round today with her sons ds1-5 months younger than my ds1, ds2 1 day younger than my ds2!, it was bloody hard work as ds1 tends to pick on younger ones as he knows they dont fight back and her ds1 is very emotional ect so you only need to prod him and he bursts out in tears! so my ds1 spent most of today in time out as he kept pushing/hitting because he was enjoying getting such a hugereaction from his cousin! bugger!
ps weve now had 3 successes on the potty!! yay, but am keeping him on stage 1 of GF for the next 2-3weeks at least just to make sure hes properly ready to start stage 2Grin

better go, has taken me ages to read through posts, hi to everyone Ive not replied to, to those who asked for yahoo invite, consider it done and let me know if any of you have problems with it

L x

Evening! All drugged up with ice final/song for Europe watched simultaneously Grin; Bonnie was robbed Angry!!!
BROWNIE: hadn't heard about Ultrabland for sore skin, but it is the best cleanser I've ever used; may try it now for sore patches after what you were told Smile.
TWINKLE: bet your two are playing up a bit (understatement of the year?) because of brother in law? Did they enjoy the snow today?
CANDIE: big Marian Keyes fan; do you like Maeve Binchy too?
Re: HV vists, I only see mine at vaccinations. She is a tactless so and so, and very irritating (probably speaks fondly of me too Grin). If there was anything amiss, even a suspician, of course I'd go, but honestly do count on my instinct more than her judgements. Have heard from several other mums that her judgements have been a bit questionable; wonder of she's a 'paper mask'? Grin - anyone remember the film? (Paul McGann). It's my ambition to be a paper mask!
DH got back safely from Lakes, just in time to do the bottles Grin.
Speak tommorrow,
Diege Smile
