sassy I've actually gave up with housework. I have no idea how mine gets in such a state when it's only me and S. my mum will take her out for the day leaving me plenty of time to properly gut the place but still by the end of the night, it's a riot again!! At least you have an excuse, there are 6 of you!!

It's a lovely day here! Since we were up and dressed early, we just came down to sit in my parents garden. S is enjoying rolling about on her mat, soaking up a few rays of sun. I could definitely get used to this Grin. Not had a nap yet but is nodding off while having her bottle.

Hope everyone's having a lovely day Smile

Oh bb3 how was new york?!

sassy34264 · 22/03/2012 13:57

definition of stupidity - 'sweeping and mopping the dining room floor and then giving 19month old twins scrambled egg for lunch'!

whilst sweeping it up, isobel must of thought she knew how to help and began throwing the scrambled egg that had fell down the side of her highchair onto the floor for me to brush up some more.

its not everyday you utter ' you best stop that, or i will have to kill you' to your daughter. Grin

enjoy your garden time fuzzy im v jealous as i have just finished the inside of the fridge and now it the cookers turn- oh the life i lead.

Grinsassy at your coke addiction!

Beautiful day! Spring has sprung!

Had a minor breakdown this morning at the mess in our house - it's the laundry that gets me down, I'm never on top of it. And there is only three of us!!!!

Off to St Andrews for the weekend. It's my ILs ruby wedding anniversary so we're all going to a lovely hotel for the weekend. Can't wait!

Hope you're all well (apart from the housework Wink).

CheshireDing · 22/03/2012 18:49

I too have a Coke addiction (of the caramel kind ) Sassy Grin I have only stopped because the dentist said one of my teeth would need replacing if I drank more Sad

Well P is no child of ours, I am a vegetarian and DH hates tuna, tonight P couldn't get the tuna in her mouth fast enough! It's the most enthusiastic we have ever seen her for food.

FuzzzyDuck · 22/03/2012 19:11

You can't beat an ice cold can of coke Grin. Ah puts me in the mood for it now!!
mrsh enjoy st andrews! It's to be lovely all wkend so fingers crossed it reaches you to. Lots of walks in the beach, fresh sea air EnvyEnvyEnvy

We were out in garden all day. Went for walk to asda amd S chatted the whole time. I love watching her just taking it all in. Her eyes are never still and she has stopped napping in it, think she is scared she will miss something Hmm. Just giving her bottle then that's her. She is exhausted!

LittlePebble · 22/03/2012 19:25

I've just finished a well earned can of coke (full fat none of that diet crap malarkey) never thought about whether it would keep E awake Blush

MamaMaiasaura · 22/03/2012 19:29

I'm a diet Pepsi fan, but reckon it affects J so limited to coffee at breakfast at Pepsi at lunch doesn't mention chocolate
Can't believe this time 5 months ago I was waiting for dsis and bil to come babysit so I could go to hospital.

bilblio · 22/03/2012 23:53

I'm a drpepper fan personally. Don't know if it effects Seth but I am trying to cut down on caffeine. I don't drink huge amounts but after realising how bad being caffeine free makes me feel i'm wary of having too much.

Can't remember who asked about aldi nappies but they're 4.99 for 48. I really like them the explosive poo leaks but generally they're good. It depends on the shape of the child though. We used Tesco with DD but they're rubbish for Seth. Really hate pampers. Hate the gel that comes out of them and they gave DD happy rash.

Decided Seth is going to spend summer outside. He was really grizzly today, I put him in the pram while I put the washing out and he shut up and spent 2 hours listening to the birds while I cleaned up.

Sorry boast alert. Had parents evening for DD today. So proud. She's gone from painfully shy last year in nursery to a bright, helpful girl this year. Reading age is 2 years over her real age and she's almost met all the goals for this academic year. She just loves learning. I asked the teacher if there was anything we could do to help and her only suggestion was "find a way for me to have them all again next year?" :o

cheshire I'm veggie but DD adores meat, like dh. She also loves peas, but we both hate them so she gets them as a treat at my mums. Peas as a treat seems so very wrong to me.

Jnice · 23/03/2012 04:13

CD that's interesting about caffeine - I drink about 5 cups of tea a day and nights are bad - I will try cut it down gradually to nothing. If I do it straight away I will get headaches.

L turned 5 months today - I can't believe how quickly it's going. Does anyone else feel sad and happy at the same time with all these milestones? This is out last baby and although I need sleep I miss the newborn phase Sad

EdwardorEricCantDecide · 23/03/2012 07:30

jnice I'm the same M is also our last baby and I find myself simultaneously wishing for her to sleep through the night and stay small.

FuzzzyDuck · 23/03/2012 08:17

It's such ashame the newborn phase is over in such a sleep deprived haze!

S rolled right off and ended up under my bed this morning Sad. I poped out to get a nappy from her room and just heard her scream. Won't be doing that again. Lesson learned!

bb3 is it today your girls are 6 months?! Happy 1/2 year A & E!! Smile

BB3 · 23/03/2012 08:36

Morning ladies!

Fuzzy - oh poor you, the first roll off something is horrible! Hope s isn't too bumped and bruised!

The girls were 6 months on Tuesday I cannot believe it is even possible that they are now over half a year old. Although saying that Ayse is commando crawling and Edie just looks so big and grown up already!

Bilblio yay for dd! The girls love outside too they slept for an hour yesterday whilst I played with ds on the trampoline.

Am loving this weather so much I could literally sit out all day (I'm not good with really strong heat or cold so this is perfect for me!)

Sassy - If you could see my living room floor - it's covered in sofa cushions, toys, crumbs etc. I used to tidy everyday but it's pointless, now I clean round before bed and then do a proper clean once a week if I'm lucky.

New york was fantastic, I cried taking off as I hated leaving the kids but as soon as I was there it was brilliant. So lovely to see my friend and have non stop adult time. I spent a small fortune but was so lovely. I am taking the kids and dh for my 30th in November x was lovely coming home although the kids were so spoilt they just smiled at me and then carried on playing when I walked in! Only Ayse-Rose held her hands out for a cuddleSad Although saying that ds has been my little shadow since since Wednesday! Bless him

Things are manic here - just never ending chaos! When, oh when, does it get a bit easier?!?!?!!

BB3 · 23/03/2012 08:36

Happy 5 month bday L xxx

MamaMaiasaura · 23/03/2012 09:19

jnice yup feel same. I have moment of madness when I want to do it all again.

emmazed · 23/03/2012 09:44

Wow 6 months! they are proper little girls now! It is crazy that the time is flying so fast.

NYC sounds great, what a fab place to visit (without kids!).

J is waking earlier and earlier everyday. It is not with hunger, do maybe the light. I didn't want to start on black outs because I wanted him to not need total darkness. I can sleep anywhere and it is a useful skill. Hmmm...

fd hope S is ok after her tumble.

EdwardorEricCantDecide · 23/03/2012 10:40

I got a double buggy this morning and so excited! I now have no excuse not to exercise though :-)

fuzzy Sad poor S. hope she's ok.

bb3 I'm Envy at NYC I'd love to go sometime!

sassy how did DP get on at his interview?

I'm gutted that mhairi's nearly 5mo I'm gonna have to face work again soon Sad

FuzzzyDuck · 23/03/2012 11:43

em I use black out blinds at night as I know without she would be up at all hours! They aren't complete black out as some light still gets in through the sides. Also she naps in a bright room through day so I know she is able to sleep in any condition
ed yay for buggy!!
bb3 Blush don't know where I got the 23rd from! Tomorrow is sch little C, then the 29th is bub and the 30th my S. can't believe it!!

S is ok after her roll. Think she just got a fright Sad. No bumps or obvious bruises yet! Poor girl, she was at side of bedside table, half under bed and holding onto the lamp!
I put some baby oil on her head last night before bath as I've noticed some cradle cap starting. Dont know if I didn't wash it out right, but it's still looking rather 'oily'. Oops, silly mummy. Poor S isn't getting it good right now!!!

sassy34264 · 23/03/2012 13:07

ed we don't know yet. He was there for 2 and a half hours though!!!! Who interviews for that long?! Dp said he was a 'throbstick' (navy term for someone who is deeply into their subject kinda thing) and went on and on.
It was his 2nd interview, so hopefully we will find out soon. He would have to do 5 weeks training in Italy. (guess who will be holidaying in Italy this year if he gets it.) Grin

He has a 1st interview for a manager position on monday, but it was one of those, where he is a lot bit out of his depth, but i told him to apply anyway. So i think he would be lucky to get it.

Happy belated 6months a and e.
Happy 5 months to whoever said it. scrolled back but still cant see it.

bb3 very Envy at new york.

Right well, i have 2 pigging loads of washing to peg out. best get on. umph.

Scheherezade · 23/03/2012 13:26

Hello all :)

Weaning continuing on here. So far he's had banana mush, and I mixed ebm with it today, half a weetabix with ebm, pear, apple, carrot and sweet potato purees. I try to give him breakfast and dinner purees, and finger food for lunch. Today he had toast and butter finger food :)

I'm worrying he's not getting enough milk, but the nurses seem happy enough. I've been expressing in the day and he's definitely getting his 20oz quota. I think I'm going to stop bf in the day and ff, but keep the early morning and bedtime feeds. He's 6months tomorrow ( :) ) and I want him in more of a routine in the day. He's responded really well to it in hospital, more settled and less screaming/sicky.

AND his sleep is amazing! He's been in the nursery since my second day here, and every single night he sleeps through till 5-6am. The nurses say he stirs in the night, but they just leave him and he drifts back off. At home he was up 2-3 hours, so I think he wasn't hungry, just waking me up and I'd automatically feed. So when we go home I'm going to force DP to let me convert the spare room.

I'm responding well to the meds, although still having my moments (currently obsessing over getting carbs and protein into C).

V boring though, the kitchen here is stocked with biscuits, cake, sandwiches and snack food you can just help yourself to-I'm going to be 20st when I leave!

Scheherezade · 23/03/2012 13:29

Oh, and happy belated 6months to the twins :)

Jnice · 23/03/2012 16:58

Just popping in for a quick hurrah! Night before last Leo slept 5 hrs straight, last night 8! From 9 - 5! Oh my I feel like a new woman! It's strange because he started refusing the formula 3 nights ago but did this anyway.

We are in a hotel and he has been swimming each day - now DH and I are trying to work out how we can recreate this environment at home Grin

Jnice · 23/03/2012 17:01

Sorry to hear about the fall fd I'm sure you were more scared than S was x

Jnice · 23/03/2012 17:03

mama I'm hoping to persuade DH to get the snip before I act on a moment of madness!

Scheherezade · 23/03/2012 17:54

That's great news Jnice so happy for you!
