jnice yay Grin and Envy Thats brilliant, did you do anything different? Can Leo have a chat with Jessica please. Wink

MrsHende · 20/04/2012 14:17

Can Lizzie have the same chat from Leo please? Maybe he could do a lecture?! Envy

Good luck with the application Fuzzzy! what will you do with S while you're working? I've been trying to get a place for L in a nursery without much joy...slightly concerned that I may have to hide her under my desk! Wink

elgoldenflower · 20/04/2012 14:25

Go Leo jnice ! That's amazing. Seriously jealous Envy as I'm popping in to moan that I'm on way to work after Lincoln woke every 2 hours in the night. Tiredness does not describe it, hope I can hold off on a stress melt down until I get home.

Sorry for the "poor me"

elgoldenflower · 20/04/2012 14:29

(hangs head in shame knowing it could be worse and I should count on blessings) Blush

Jnice · 20/04/2012 15:05

el it's hard to count blessings after no sleep Sad hope it's better tonight.

Just popping back before I go back to sleep to say L is back on formula at bedtime (coincidence?). We found a bottle he will take! It's the adiri nurser. It's squishy like a boob Wink DH found that had had to smoosh it a little bit into Leo's face (it's soft and warm from the milk) - then he took 4oz!

MrsHende · 20/04/2012 15:24

El!! Don't you dare hang your head in shame! We all know how lucky we are to have our gorgeous babies but it doesn't make it any easier to deal with tough days.

I hope that you get a rest at work and that you have a better night tonight. Growth spurts are a killer, L is going through one just now and I have no idea how I'd even contemplate work I'm so tired!

(Sorry for being bossy!Wink)

Jnice · 20/04/2012 15:27

Do you know what sucks? (sorry for Americanism). When the baby sleeps but after 5 straight hours your brain tells you IT'S TIME TO GET UP! Angry

Stupid brain. I've been awake since 4.50 and L has slept and now I have to go get kids ready for school.

Jnice · 20/04/2012 15:28

I should definitely count my blessings though.

CheshireDing · 20/04/2012 19:14

Yay Leo!!!! From one extreme to the other Grin. Do you think going to nursery helped tire him out Jnice? I think P is one of the older ones, some days she eats loads and others, like today, she has not really been bothered.

P had rubbish sleep again last night but I do wonder if it was because I had a swig of Coke before bed . Sounds like you need Coke Golden.

I remember being at work when tired normally I cannot IMAGINE being at work at the moment. I don't know how those of you are doing it, I feel wrecked some days.

Happy 6 and 7 months Sassy and BB3. How time is flying.

When is the next baby due? Grin

Jnice · 20/04/2012 19:45

Cheshire it is possible that nursery tired him out. We'll see over the weekend!

I recommend the adiri nurser for those babies refusing bottles.

strawberrypenguin · 20/04/2012 20:26

sassy thanks for FB work today, I've just put a pic of W up Smile

jnice Smile for the sleep and bottle success

pinkpainter · 20/04/2012 21:29

M has just had her first meal - she was EBF up until now and will be 6 months on Wednesday.....I was about to reply to Jnice and MrsH to say that I hadn't started solids yet but that we were going to start tomorrow but we just decided to go for it tonight!

She had carrot sticks (cooked) and black very ripe banana pieces.

Should we just do one meal a day for a while, it's so exciting, I just want to see her reaction to everything now?

pinkpainter · 20/04/2012 21:29

Oh, and a bit sad too - my last baby is no longer EBF! :(

MamaMaiasaura · 20/04/2012 22:05

Pink - how exciting but know what you mean about a little Sad re how many meals, lots of different schools of thought so really depends on how you want to go. With ds1 it was very much trying one thing at a time purée. With ds2 and now J, she sits on lap or bumbo each meal time and grabs food offs plate or I put bits like bro illy, potatoes chicken on her smteay and she munches what she wants. For breakfast she has a small amount of porridge and fruit purée but not always and often she holds spoon.

Penelope1980 · 20/04/2012 22:07

el that's what I dread whenn going back to work! We had a good night last night though - only one wake, after a run of nights with wakes every 2 hours. Please let this be the begining of another good run.

A slept much better at 2 months than he does at 6. I wonder if that's usual? From 6 weeks to 3 months he'd only wake once a night, and sometimes not until 5 or 6 . Ever since about 3 months though he's almost always up at least twice, and 3 - 4 times isn't rare.

pink that would make me sad too.

Jnice · 21/04/2012 01:27

Pene - that was my experience too. I'm remembering the same with older ds's. 4-6 months was so hard with them too and then things settled down (until teething, standing etc).

Pink yay! And Sad at the same time! Today Leo was reaching for my apple so I chopped off a slice and have it to him. He sucked it a bit. He's tasted things ad hoc like that (broccoli, avocado) but not ready to start in earnest yet. Being a bit slack about it really Blush

ipswichwitch · 21/04/2012 12:54

jnice, DS likes to suck on apple slices, then when he's got all the flavour out will lob them on the floor! he also likes sucking on runner beans, after waving them about for a bit first! will have a look at the adiri nurser bottle - he will take water from a cup with spout, but refuses point blank to have milk in it, or in a bottle
has anyone else's DC had probs with constipation since starting solids? been used to him having a poop 2-3 times a day, and now he's averaging 3 days between, and is getting v uncomfortable with it. is bringing knees up to chest, , pumping away. am trying a bit prune juice in his baby rice and water, does anyone recommend anything else??

sassy34264 · 21/04/2012 13:09

ipswich do you still give a breast fed at all? if you do, you can take a sennakot and he will get it. the hospital gave me one for dd1 and it worked.
well im having a fab sat.........
dp goes to wrestling every sat morning anyway, so its always noon before we can do owt/ go anywhere.
he's took a nasty knock to his ear and its swelled (the start of cauliflower ear) and he cant hear properly. i rang nhs direct and they told him to go to a&e. he's just text to say there is a 3 hr waiting time- groan.
im thinking of just pouring myself a drink and making a start on the ben and jerry's!

hope everyne else is having more fun.

ipswichwitch · 21/04/2012 16:05

yeah am still BFing sassy so thanks for that tip, al give it a go. he's not a happy bunny - took him for a walk and he screamed all the way (normally he's having a good nosey and beaming away at people). got him off to sleep now, hence the MNing!
hope the ear is ok - cauliflower ears are painful, mate of ours does MMA n has horrendous ears, which he says is his own fault for not draining the blood out of them when they swell or something. sound pretty nasty. i would def get going on the ben n jerrys (chunky monkey??), maybe save a bit to stick on DPs sore ear....or not :)

sassy34264 · 21/04/2012 18:06

ipswich he's still bloody waiting! he waited 3 1/2 hours to be told he needs to go to another hospital! i just sent him a text saying i hope there isnt a time limit on being able to cut them. hes been waiting 6 hours. what a great sat for him.
i would only do the senakot once by the way- not over and over or every week iyswim. otherwise his muscle contractions in his rectum wont learn to squeeze good enough. :)

sassy34264 · 21/04/2012 18:17

P doesn't poop very often now Ipswich, once a day at most and has become very windy - from both ends!

Sassy what a PITA, hope you have scoffed the chocolate and wine now Grin

How is J's rash Mama?

I got some glasses for the first time last week and (talking of baby brain) this was the conversation.

Me: No way I can see your wrinkles and those holes on your face
DH: You mean pores!

"Profound" is DH's ususal response to me recently

sassy34264 · 21/04/2012 18:50

sarcastic bastards aren't they! Grin

my dp says 'classic sassy' when i do something.
he's said it today actually. the sink is blocked in the bathroom and i bought sink unblocker.......for the kitchen!
thought sod it, it will still work. they are little balls that i assume go down and then fizz. but they just sat on top of the plug hole cos the holes are not as big as the kitchen sink ones! Blush

too be fair though, it's his shaving in the sink that has caused it. umph!

sassy34264 · 21/04/2012 19:00

before i even had last 3 babies, i managed to complete a triathlon with not only by t-shirt on back to front, but my race number upside down!
ive sprayed furniture polish under my arm pits- in my defence it was in my bedroom and had the same colour lid!
i managed to fall once and make a right mess of my leg- bruised / cut/ scrapped skin off- and i was stood still............. and sober!!!!

so maybe its not the babies!

ipswich j has problems pooing too and bf. I posted about t a while back. I try warm bath, gently massaging tummy in clockwise direction and peddling legs/pushing them up. It's awful when they strain and then scream Sad.

saasy like the tip re sennacot, will try that if she gets bad again. The abs she's on for her chest infection have meant she had massive up the front one.. :P LOL at deodorant polish Grin. Hope you dh ear is ok and he's out of a&e soon. I guess they get busy as so many people do sport at weekend. Ds1 is a forward and I am dreading injuries, hoping he will stop before senior.

Jessica cried less today and temperature stayed below 38 so fx she's on the mend. Rash spread to forehead too. Poor girl, she coughs and cries at same time. Giving medicine to her has now resorted to points scoring, 2-1 to mummy today. She purses her lips and raspberries as soon as I try to get near her mouth with syringe. She's clever.

Re running, I used to do cross country and long distance track. I really want to get back to cross country especially as I live by new forest and perfect to run there. My knees are a bit crap tho and it's been almost 20 years since proper running Blush. How do I get back to it or would cycling be better? And what kit and training do I do?
