fuzzzy my hair is just starting to slow down on the falling out stage, not getting such big handfuls after I wash it now.

mama yay for J getting her first tooth, still waiting on that here!

cheshire W just bit the teat on the sippy cup really hard, pulled a face then threw it away. Might try again in a few weeks he is bottle fed though and chews on those when he's had enough to eat.

Re weaning I'm doing purée only at he moment, it has to be really really smooth as well, any lumps or even thicker textures like potato and he gags on it. Loves fruit puréed though, and chicken.

LittlePebble · 16/04/2012 08:22

Strawberry how is W doing now? Is he fully recovered from op? When do you hear about next one?

MrsHende · 16/04/2012 09:02

Just popping in to ask all you lovely ladies to keep your fingers crossed and send positive vibes to MrH, job interview this morning!

LittlePebble · 16/04/2012 09:05

Good luck MrH!

Penelope1980 · 16/04/2012 09:07

cheshire good advice re the sippy cup.

LP I had totally forgotten the scene with the baby in the sea, and it was really hard to watch! Another thing that has changed since seeing Titanic in 1997, I hate seeing children die in the movies now. Not that I ever found it ok as such, but now it really affects me.

strawberrypenguin · 16/04/2012 09:10

lp he's doing good thanks, fully recovered from kidney op, scar healing nicely got to book him a GP appointment though as he has a stitch poking out at one end and I don't want it to get infected, they should just be able to cut it though. We've got an outpatients consult at John Radcliffe on 8th May about his head so should find out what the plan is for that then.

mrsH good luck to MrH :)

strawberrypenguin · 16/04/2012 09:13

lp know what you mean about the growing W is in 6-9 month and is getting a bit long for some of the trousers already! He's quite skinny though so looks a bit silly in some of his clothes as they are really baggy around his middle.
Italy sounds lovely where abouts are you going?

BB3 · 16/04/2012 09:17

Good luck mrh!

LittlePebble · 16/04/2012 09:22

Tuscany to choose a wedding venue Smile. I'm meant to be packing but am on mn as I have no idea where to start!

BB3 · 16/04/2012 09:28

EnvyEnvyEnvyEnvyEnvyEnvy at Tuscany and weddings! I'd love to do my wedding all over again (although maybe not having to pay all over again!) and I'd love to be packing to go on holiday rather than on the way to work - hurrumph! I vote this becomes your post natal thread and unofficial wedding thread so we can hear all the details and swoon over romantic weddings in the sun x pretty please x

BB3 · 16/04/2012 09:31

Oh and edwardo is a keeper - love it!

strawberrypenguin · 16/04/2012 10:14

Ooh very exciting :o I love weddings, have fun choosing do you already have a list of places to go or are you playing it by ear once you're there?
BB3 I'd love to revisit my wedding too it wasa brilliant day, we were very lucky and my parents paid for most of the wedding and my PIL paid for our honeymoon.

Jnice · 16/04/2012 12:53

Yay pebble that sounds lovely!

FuzzzyDuck · 16/04/2012 14:23

EnvyEnvy @ lp. That sounds amazing!!! bb3 I had a nosey at your wedding photos on fb, beautiful!! Was it anywhere special? I love weddings Smile. Be back shortly for proper catch up Grin

FuzzzyDuck · 16/04/2012 16:22

Ok I'm back!

Been drifting in and out of thread. Still reading but not much time to post back. Hope everyone (and babies!) all good Smile

Thanks to everyone who said about their hair. I know it's only a trivial thing, but it's getting me down how bad condition it's in. I've started on a multi vitamin in the hope of giving it a boost. It's the having to constant wash as well!! Like you said ed by the time I've washed and dried it, feels greasy again Angry. Getting it colored tomorrow so fingers crossed it takes ok. I'm glad I'm not the only one, and I know it will pass Smile
lp website looks great, well done. How's the packing going? I felt like I had half the house crammed into the case Blush. Babies do not travel light!!! How long are you away for?
On subject of travel, anyone recommend travel insurance for babies (if it even exists?). Not sure how that works. It's on my list of things to do tomorrow along with a million other things. Finally got S passport through after about 7 weeks! My friend who co-signed the form forgot to put her passport number on the form so it delayed it a bit. Glad it came through though, was starting to panic as we are off to Canada in just over 2 weeks!
jnice, cheshire how's the sleeping going? I can't even imagine how hard it must be. I count my blessings that S is a good sleeper just refusing to sleep through day for fear of missing something Hmm.
Still no teeth here yet. I'm convinced she will be a gummy baby till she is 1, then they will all come through at once. She pulled herself along the floor last week, but hasn't done it since. Has realized its much quicker just to roll across the floor to get where she wants to be!! Still a little wobbly sitting by herself but it's only because she can't sit still for more than a minute!! I wonder if this is a sign of what's to come... Confused

MrsHende · 16/04/2012 16:45

Thanks for all the good luck messages, he says he didn't disgrace himself! We now have to wait two weeks to find out if he got it. We've just been doing the digital banking...3 of us surviving on SMP is proving a challenge...fingers crossed he gets a job soon!

LP your holiday sounds lovely! Have a fantastic time!

FD my hair is a disaster too - I'm still having handfuls coming out everyday, I'm so glad my floorboards and rugs are all dark! I've now got some new hair growing in around my hairline so have a load of fuzz there, if I didn't have a fringe already I'd have to get one cut in! When I was pregnant I only had to wash my hair once a week (and even then it wasn't greasy, it was more that I felt odd leaving it longer than that). Before I was pregnant I washed it every other day. Now it's needing washed by the end of the day that I wash it. I've become a regular user of Batiste dry shampoo!

Pene I'm still struggling to get L to take a bottle or cup. She gets least upset at the doidy cup but still doesn't drink from it - apart from the drops that she swallows accidentally! I've been recommended a playtex cup so I'll let you know how that goes. I think I may just have to go out for the day though and let her go cold turkey and have to take it somehow.

BB3 how's work going? I'm dreading going back. I was at Bounce and Rhyme this morning and saw a girl I know is going back to work on Wednesday. I couldn't go and talk to her because I got myself so upset at the thought of going back that I had a wee tear through Twinkle Twinkle!

One of my good friends had a wee girl this morning. The picture she texted took me right back to that first day - time has just flown!

FuzzzyDuck · 16/04/2012 16:51

mrsh oh glad job interview went good for mrh! I don't know how I've managed this long on maternity pay Shock. Have started looking for a new job though. It's such a sad thought. Sorting through clothes last night and came across her tiny newborn stuff. Honestly, if I had a partner right now, Id be jumping on him for baby number 2 BlushBlushBlush. Nothing like site of baby clothes to make you feel broody again!!!!

strawberrypenguin · 16/04/2012 17:28

mrsH glad the interview went well, hope he gets it

Re going back to work, it's a horrible thought, I know I've been really lucky to be able to have as long as I have and to be honest I probably won't start back until August. Like you fuzzy ive been looking for a new job as my one just doesn't pay enough, I'd be working to pay childcare! Didn't get the one I interviewed for a couple of weeks ago :( it would have been perfect too. I don't like not bringing in a reasonable wage though it's making me feel a bit down. Bit tricky really I want to go back to work to earn properly again but don't want to leave W!

Jnice · 16/04/2012 17:34

fuzzy where in Canada are you off too. If west coast let me know and we can have a MN meetup!

MrsH glad interview went well.

L is doing better at nights, just woke twice last night but at first waking awake for over an hour and then up for the day at 5am AngrySad

Naps are non existent though.

strawberrypenguin · 16/04/2012 17:37

jnice sorry your still having sleep troubles, good on the only 2 wakings though, hopefully he'll start going a bit longer overnight. Bless you, you must be exhausted xx

Jnice · 16/04/2012 18:35

Thanks strawberry - I'm managing with early bedtimes (8pm) - but that's not a long term solution! Will get back to nap training in a few weeks. Got lots comin up. Ds2 turns 5, little vacation, my 40th - so will leave it until after then. Fx he sorts it out himself in the meantime!

Penelope1980 · 16/04/2012 23:01

I am going to work in three weeks UGUGUGUGUGUG. Am trying not to think about it though ... my biggest fear at this stage is that A will continue to wake 2 - 3 times a night and I will at work looking like the zombie apocalypse has struck

sassy34264 · 17/04/2012 08:37

jnice does he not sleep at all during the day? is he not cranky and screaming all the time? your knackered on the amount of sleep that you and he are having at night and you dont even need day time naps. he must be exhausted. Sad hope you can sort it out soon for his sake.

well, dp has started his new job today. so im back to it just being me and the kids, but at least this time he will be back every afternoon. yeah. also, the job came with a car, so the zafira is mine and i can go anywhere! need to kick lazy ass into --gear
going to have to start cracking on with some housework as it has been seriously neglected of late.

fuzzy god i envy your life! Wink im hoping italy comes off, otherwise the most excited place i will have been to is comedy club in manchester in last 3 years!!!!!

jnice I'm off to Windsor, Ontario so nowhere near you I dont think! Aww, how fun would that have been Smile
sassy my life isn't as fun as you think it i Grin. I'm pretty boring really Blush. I'm lucky in the sense that I'm being treated to this trip (I'm only paying for S) otherwise I'd be staying home. My life is severely lacking in excitement! Yay for dp job, wonderful news that you will have him home every day too Smile
