morning everyone! its only took me 6 months to find this thread (blames lack of sleep) DS waking every 1-2 hr through night for feeds (prob some comfort feeding there too), and screaming if i try putting him in cot while awake but tired, so atm feeding to sleep. been reading previous posts, am gonna try same thing as jnice n see how we get on, as i'm back to work in 8 weeks, and will prob be a danger to myself at work on amount of sleep i'm currently getting!!
also having some probs with DS now refusing solids (had great start) but think its teething to blame. other than sleep/feeding issues he's a delight, very happy smiley little boy. am contemplating getting frog light (thanks strawberry!), might help settle him a bit

sassy34264 · 17/04/2012 10:18

fuzzy well if you think your life is boring and i think it sounds exciting........ what does that tell you about mine!!!! Blush i am one dull dullard now. Lol.

welcome back ipswich was that your name before? ouch on the lack of sleep. and the going back to work. Smile

Mhairi has been quite unwell the past few days do I have gone back to milk only, I'm not too worried though as she's still under 6 months just I'm seeing it as a blessing in disguise as I ha started to get really lazy (the way I went with ds and was feeding her jars at every feed so I'm starting from scratch again when she's a bit more "herself" and cooking everything again.
I'm really finding that I barely have time to read the thread now never mind post I feel really ignorant as by the time I've read back usually a couple of days worth at a time I forget what everyone has said before I can post.
Think I'm gonna have to face work early I've run up over £1000 on the credit card and we tend to be on quite a tight budget even with a full salary Sad I was hoping th stay off till end of august but it's now looking to be June SadSad plus I've been speaking to colleagues while I've been off and they have cut the commission scheme again and written Saturday and Sunday working and back shifts into every shift plan Angry
They obviously don't give a shit about their staff, I won't say who they are but they rhyme with gritish bas! Assholes

MamaMaiasaura · 17/04/2012 10:47

jnice I lay with J in the day to feed and get her to nap, I have ds2 in
Bed too and he plays on iPhone Blush. Ah J just woken now. But she will not nap on her own unless in pram or car journey. For me, I'm not worrying about training her to sleep by herself as I know she will when ready. If I had to return to work tho I'd prob be trying to get her to sleep on her own.

Off on breastpad hunt as none of shops nearby have them Angry plenty of formula etc but no breastpads

sassy34264 · 17/04/2012 11:13

ed sorry about M. hope she is back to her old self soon.
Grin at gritish bas!

mamma pity i cant magic my remainding breast pads to you. im down to a breast feed in the mornings now and dont need them anymore.

Hope M feels better soon Ed, and it's rubbish you're going to have to go back to work earlier than you wanted - especially to a rotten shift pattern.

I feed L to sleep for daytime naps too, or, more often, her naps are in the pram, sling or car on our way to and from that day's activity. If I tried to put her down awake I'd soon hear about it! However, I can put her down awake at night.

Just been pooed on! Off to clean us up! Grin

BB3 · 17/04/2012 13:22

Hi ladies

Edwardo poor little M - hope she pics up soon.
Fuzzy thanks lovely, we had the wedding here. I always knew I would get married there even before I met DH - he didn't get all that much say in the wedding full stop really (apart from the food).
MrsH honestly, work is pretty crappy. I don't think I mind the concept of work but the company is currently being bought out by another larger agency who I don't really like, the job I am taking on is fine (more of a sidestep than promotion) and they work longer hours and further into central London so from June in order to get to work I would need to leave the house at 6.30 (an hour earlier) and wouldn't get back until 8.15pm (45 minutes later). This am combined with the fact that my bosses are being complete and utter toss pots about the whole thing (treating the team really badly and focusing on the money not the impact on work etc) has made me realise I don't want to work here anymore. The new company is fine but the reason I stay at this job is through loyalty, I miss my babies because up until now the company have been great to me, but I have no loyalty to the new company so don't think I can justify being away from the kids for that long. At the moment I'm doing just two days in London but he new company will be 4 and I just don't want to do it. So am looking for other things and contemplating going back on unpaid maternity leave for a while until after the summer but it's all a bit up in the air. I am hoping to have something sorted for when I return from holiday at the beginning of June so I can hand my notice in then.

How is everyone getting on, I staying in town with a colleague last night and given the state of the office we were up til three putting the world to rights over a bottle of wine and I am suffering today! Cannot wait to go home! Leaving in two hours! yay! cannot come fast enough!

Hope all is ok. Sorry for the me post.

Hi Ipswich xx

sassy34264 · 17/04/2012 14:45

yikes bb3 those are long hours- even for someone childless. when i worked at my last job (and only had chloe) i used to drop her off at the child minders at 7.30 and got home at 6, and i used to think that was along time. hope you find something you are happy with soon. x

OP posts:
BB3 · 17/04/2012 16:28

I know, I can't justify having three children and only seeing them for three days a week - even if it was the worlds best job (which it's not!) so it's definitely not going to happen. I'm hoping I cam hand my notice in mid-late may then only have a couple of weeks closing down the old company before I can take my annual holiday and skadadle off!

sassy34264 · 17/04/2012 17:17

just had to phone my mum to come straight round after she has finished work. isobel is sick, quite literally. went to pick dd1 from band practice, pulled up outside home and went to open the door and chloe starts shouting. got to car to see isobel full of sick and more just coming and coming! i didnt realise she had ate so much.
had to try to get her clothes off without it going everywhere. its all over the seatbelt and car seat. i still had to get jacob and eva in and eva needed feeding, so ive had to leave it stinking the car out. yuk. ive fed eva mushed up banana and milk with isobel in my arms and shes still here now.

this is the only bad thing about having so many kids, you cant drop everything to give one the attention they need. Sad

dp just phoned, hes on his way, but hes 2 hours not taking traffic into account. Sad

OP posts:
FuzzzyDuck · 17/04/2012 17:26

Aww sassy, poor girly Sad. Hope she is better soon. Times like this you need 4 pairs of hands!!!

strawberrypenguin · 17/04/2012 17:44

sassy sounds like a nightmare! Hope she feels better soon.
BB3 those are insane hours especially with little ones, don't think many people would keep that up for long
ipswitch hi I wasn't on the antenatal thread, I found these lovely ladies after id had my DS Smile
Using the app for the first time and it's a little weird as you can't see the thread when you are writing a message, which with my memory might not be the best idea !

strawberrypenguin · 17/04/2012 17:45

Knew I missed something ed I hope M fells better soon too

Jnice · 17/04/2012 18:09

Oh sassy I know hat you're going through - taking care of one dc vomiting whilst looking after the others - horrendous. Hope that help arrives very soon x

Catching up on the rest now...

Jnice · 17/04/2012 18:18

fuzzy - that's a shame, but enjoy your trip!

BB3 those are long hours, I hope it all works out the way you would like it to. Mean time hang in there!

Ed sorry to hear M is still poorly - get well soon LO.

Jnice · 17/04/2012 18:22

Mama - I wish Leo would fall asleep with me, it doesn't work anymore. He kicks me in the tummy and pinches my boobs! All the while cooing and giggling at me!

He actually seems fine on 2 or 3 20 minute catnaps - is pretty smiley for the most part. He gets fussy in the evening but no more than any other baby. This is all great except I'm a mess by the end of the day and the place is a pit. No time to myself. (moan, moan, grumble)!

LittlePebble · 17/04/2012 20:09

Hi all!
ipswich hi!
BB3 wow they are long days I don't know how you do it! Hope your plan works and you can have the summer on the beach with the three of them.
Sassy I hope Isabel is feeling better, and edwardo I hope Mhairi is as well.
strawberry I'm always posting on iPhone do struggle to remember everyone's posts.
Jnice hope you get a better night how are you coping without dh?
Fuzzzy oh my god the amount of stuff to pack to go away is scary! Hope you have a good luggage allowance for Canada? Will S have her own seat? E is on our laps for flight tomorrow not sure how that will go..
Penguin are you ok? Are DC's still poorly? Haven't heard from you in a while?

Penelope1980 · 17/04/2012 22:38

BB3 as others have said, those are loooong hours. I haven't had to do those sort of hours since I was a new grad that got worked to the bone. That's a long commute. I have been missing living in London recently, but your post reminded me how little I miss commuting.

Ed sounds like your back to work experience (or possibility of it) is stressful too.

I found out that we probably have a place for A in the nursery I really wanted from when he is one which is good news - subject to DH and I being able to negotiate 4 day weeks with our works. So that's half good news!

MamaMaiasaura · 17/04/2012 22:49

Jnice had to Smile at Leo cooing at you, I didn't realise he'd have power naps, 3x20i mins is ok, they wake up usually evey 20 min or so, do you stay with him for whole nap? Know what you mean about not getting much done.i can't actually leave Jessica for naps at home so am always finding I'm not getting lots done. She's on me now actually. Such a short time really that they are this small tho. Bedtime for Is now.

+bb3* those hours are very long Sad feel for you and agree that your company sound horrible

sassy34264 · 17/04/2012 23:01

isobel is still poorly, but she hasnt been sick again. hate it though cos im lying in bed a bit frightened to go to sleep in case shes sick and i dont hear her and she chokes on it. (who was it that posted about worrying about stuff?)
i thought id managed to contain it well to the carseat but when ive took it out today, its on the back seat cos of the hole that the seat belt comes through that goes between their legs. umph. had to scrub it. not to bad though as my lovely mum offered to take all the vomit covered stuff. and any washing im behind on! thanks mum.

poor dp drove to telford and back (12 hour day) for his first day in his new job after spending his whole adult life in the navy (11 years) and there was no tea ready for him and i told him to pick some pizzas up from the shop and he had to cook it himself Blush oops.

we're going out on friday to a new tapas bar to celebrate, so maybe i'll have to throw in a little i'll make it up to you favour! Wink

EdwardorEricCantDecide · 18/04/2012 00:48
