PenguinArmy · 27/03/2012 22:19

Me and ds have recovered I believe, although he has only gone to sleep. :)

LittlePebble · 28/03/2012 07:12

Sassy E has both his bottom teeth through now (so cute) am dreading the top ones coming through though as he can already give quite a nip!
Cheshire i love monsoon and boden for kids but cant afford either! We buy clothes from m&s (good for sleepsuits etc) mothercare and boots (only had to buy vests and sleepsuits for him so far as all outfits have come from DGP's. He has some lovely frugi stuff but Next is tiny for us (he's already in 9-12mths as it is).
Is anyone else starting to think about stopping bf? I'm going to stop lunchtime feed and just do am and pm now as with work it's easier for my mum if she can give him a bottle. Plus he seems to only want food now he's very fussy on the boob when we're out.

LittlePebble · 28/03/2012 07:13

Strawberry has W had his tube out? Is he ok?

LittlePebble · 28/03/2012 07:15

mama and engels hope you're both feeling better x

Engelsmeisje · 28/03/2012 07:53

Thanks pebble. Have had a restless night (even though M didn't wake up!). Full of snot with a throat like sandpaper. mama hope you feel better. Am hoping M is a little less agitated today. Maybe I'll pop to the pharmacy and see if I can get him some teething gel.

pebble I have been phasing out bf for 2 weeks now. Dropping one feed oer week so next week he'll only be having bm first thing and at "dinner time". M is also very fidgety feeding when we're out (and is so big and unwieldy now!). I'm looking forward to not having to wear bf-friendly clothes, but not looking forward to having to be better organised when we go out with bottles and things! I'm feeling quite relaxed and happy about going onto ff, partly because I feel like it's my decision (despite the heavy hints my MIL has been dropping for the last 3 months). Was really upset a few months ago when my supply dropped and thought I might have to start giving him f. But he's had bm for 5 months and that's good enough for me. Might feel differently if I wasn't back at work...

M bit me yesterday as well - also hoping to have him off the breast by the time his next teeth come through!

strawberrypenguin · 28/03/2012 08:10

fuzzzy it's warm here at the moment during the day (haven't even needed a jumper all week) colder in the evenings though. (I'm Winchester so not too far from London) not sure what the wethers up to by the weekend though.

lp yep tube out :) he seems to be fine, getting back to his normal self. We just have to go for a check up in 3 months. He's got a nice (pretty big) scar on the side of his belly under his ribs. I'm sure he will have fun making up reasons why he has it when he's trying to impress his friends in a few years time!

Wow so many little ones with teeth. W's are coming i can see them, they are just taking their time.

FuzzzyDuck · 28/03/2012 08:31

strawberry great news about W Smile. I have a scar across my neck and had lots of interesting questions from my kids I look after as to why I have it! Once it's fully healed, rub 'bio oil' in. Will help it to fade better

All these baby's with teeth!! S still doesn't have any and no sign of them coming through. She has days when her cheeks are scarlett and yesterday she was dribbling a lot but no shiny white teeth yet. Taking her to be weighed this afternoon. Hoping the sun will keep everyone else away so I can just be in and out! Got most of S clothes sorted for holiday last night. Put in a mix of tshirts and longer sleeved tops plus leggings etc. I'm hoping the weather does stay warm but I don't think it's likely. I hate having to be strict though about packing. It's good we are staying with family so I don't need to worry about to much Smile

Engelsmeisje · 28/03/2012 11:21

HELP! I think someone swapped my baby! Where is placid, smiley M?! He only stops screaming when I'm holding him or he's in the buggy for a walk. Poor little mite has a blocked nose and pesky teeth poking through. Guess I won't be getting any marking done today (will have to catch up on some tv instead Wink ).

FuzzzyDuck · 28/03/2012 12:10

Aww enj. Poor M Sad

FuzzzyDuck · 28/03/2012 12:11

One day I'll get your name right Blush eng Grin

Engelsmeisje · 28/03/2012 12:37

Grin Fuzzzy

engels is Dutch for English and meisje means girl. Makes me chuckle when people shorten it because engel means angel and eng means scary!

M is finally asleep (not helped by a bored FIL just popping in an hour ago. M had just started to settle on the mat but of course once he'd had attention and then FIL left we were back to screaming again), so reckon I have half an hour to get as much marking done as possible!

BB3 · 28/03/2012 14:28

Strawberry, so glad he is on the mend.

Fuzzy - I get most of the girls every day clothes from the supermarkets (especially Sainsbury's 25% off sale) and then occasion bits or if there is something I really like from Next, Joules etc. When they get older and keep their clothes for longer than a couple of months I don't mind spending more but while they are growing through them so quickly I can't justify spending lots on two sets of everything!

London is supposed to be cloudy this weekend about 15 degrees but I don't know about next week - although I always thing the smog and transport you take whilst there makes it that bit hotter than other places anyway, even if the sun isn't shining. Where are you staying?

The weather is beautiful today and I am sat in the garden working (if you can call it that!). I can't wait for the weekend - shame the weather is going to be so rubbish!

FuzzzyDuck · 28/03/2012 16:40

engels that's funny!!!!
bb3 I'm staying mostly with family in purley but hoping to get a day through in whistable to catch up with relatives (and see the beach!). It was lovely here today again but has got a few degrees cooler. Will stick a bit of everything in the suitcase!!

FuzzzyDuck · 28/03/2012 16:53

Oh and had S weighed today, 15lbs 6oz at 2 days off 6 months exact. On roughly the 35th centile now. Bit of a jump this month!! Grin

sassy34264 · 28/03/2012 19:49

eng thats interesting. i refer to you as scary then! ha.

glad ds is improving strawberry i second the bio oil.

pebble i gave up bfing twins at 9 months (was down to morning and night) cos jacob bit me. i was hysterically screaming for him to let go but he just bit harder! i really thought my nipple would be in his mouth. Shock

eva already gums down on me now, so i think i will knock it on the head at 6 months. Grin

Ooh for clothes i've just discovered matalan. Friend brought round 2 sacks of girls clothes this morning mostly aged 6-8 as far as I could see so went to mayalan to buy some stuff for dd - some cropped trousers, shorts and a couple of frocks and then came home to unpack the rest of the freebies and found a whole load of 3-4 stuff that mostly fits. Oh well. She has loads of clothes now!

Also started to go through she sack of 9-12mog stuff for A. I love inheriting sacks of stuff. It's so exciting. Taking lots of Alex's outgrown stuff to dad's at the weekend to pass on to on old school friend who has just had a baby boy.

Hopefully I can clear enough space in the nursery that Alex can have his own room when we get back from Easter hols. Should be better for him and better for us. And I can read in bed again. Bliss!

Fd, where was S before?

sassy34264 · 28/03/2012 19:51

not sure when you are going fuzzy but have fun. x

Scheherezade · 28/03/2012 19:52

That's great news strawberry how is he in himself?

Mrs worry-pots over here. Am obsessed about vitamins, iron, protein, carbs, fibre, milk, folic acid! Never had to think about meals before really, and now I'm seriously stressing! C refusing to have milk, but loving his solids, so I'm trying to get milk into him that way, milk in porridge, a petit filous yoghurt, bit of cheese, and mixing breastmilk into his purees. Means I'm having to express in the day, but only a little. Am so worried he's going to end up deficient in something :(

MrsHende · 28/03/2012 20:08

There is always something new to worry about isn't there. I'm beginning to realise that life will now always be underpinned with worry, but will also have more love than I ever thought too!

Does it help to think about the intake of vitamins etc over a whole week rather than just in one day? I do that for myself - that way I can forgive myself for the pizza and chocolate days by having a vegetable filled day soon after!

FuzzzyDuck · 28/03/2012 20:09

go do you mean what weight was she before? She was 14lbs4oz on the 29th of feb.

sassy thanks, off to London on sat morning to see family for a few days. S first trip on a plane. Thank god it's only just under 2 hrs praying she doesn't scream Grin

FuzzzyDuck · 28/03/2012 20:11

sch try not stress to much. C sounds like he is getting a varied diet. Keep up the great work Smile

FuzzzyDuck · 28/03/2012 20:12

go ah do you mean centiles? She was born on the 9th, then has been hovering around 25th but has jumped a bit this weigh in!

I'll stop with the multiple posts now

BB3 · 28/03/2012 20:25

Ayse's a biter too sassy!!! I'm just feeding morning and night now and plan to phase it out completely in the next 6 weeks (although I think it will come to a natural end soon as girls are becoming less interested over night).

Have fun fuzz x

I'm in bed already (have been since 8pm). Seriously when did going to bed at 8pm become acceptable behaviour?!?!GrinWink

BB3 · 28/03/2012 20:30

Sch don't panic, you're doing great!

golemmings · 28/03/2012 20:34

Yrs fd, centiles. She's doing really well! Is that jump since weaning?
Sche, as long as he's getting a balance over a few days he'll be fine.

Oh, and sassy was it you who recommended the vegan books? Got a couple off amazon which make a lot of sense so thx for putting me on to those. Going to see gp tomorrow to get a referral to the dietician re a's intoletance. Tomorrow I'm going to try lactofree formula. If he reacts to it he'll be upset tomorrow pm so she can see . If he doesn't I might see of I can get formula on prescription otherwise I think I'll be expressing forever...
