We've got so good at brooking no argument for no pregnancy complications and sneeze births, we're going for our Phds in big fat babies

Of course tummy and thighs are baby milk Too - it has to be stores somewhere no?

V excited about 10w 5d being the official sleep through night - that's only a couple d weeks away for us Too Grin

TooImmatureTurtleDoves · 08/05/2012 17:33

Biscuits, hope E's jabs aren't too traumatic tomorrow. M's aren't until the 25th when she will be 11 weeks. Hmm That is also when we have to go back to the hospital to see the consultant and get the results of today's scans. I must find both appt letters and check if they clash - one is at the local surgery and one is in town 15 miles away, so it is sod's law that they will turn out to both be at 9 o'clock, or something. Must stop saying I must check this and actually do it!

TooImmatureTurtleDoves · 08/05/2012 17:45

Yy to why couldn't the doctor do the injection in the first place! The nurse asked if M had had bloods taken before, and I said yes, for jaundice, and it had been really hard to get enough blood from her. The nurse went oh, that's not what we want to hear! Oh well, let's have a look at the veins in her hands and feet...mmm...they're all really small and hard to see...oh well, we'll give it a bash anyway. I think she should have just said you know what, this looks hard and we don't want to hurt her more than we have to, so let's get the doctor in. Still Angry and Sad and grumpy

Biscuitsandtea · 08/05/2012 18:12

WE HAVE A SMILE

WOOOOOOOHOOOOOOO

GrinGrinGrin

pommedechocolat · 08/05/2012 18:23

WOOP WOOP Baby E!! Good work :)

Too - sorry to hear about hideous hospital appointment, sounds grim. Don't worry about boobs - they'll go down when you stop bf. Its not forever :)

Biscuits - IS ds1 going with you to jabs? DD1 was a bit shocked watching A have hers!! Her cuddly toy that she never lets go of even to wash was immediately proffered to her sister!

10 weeks 5 days. Well tonight is 10 weeks 1 day so 4 to go...

TooImmatureTurtleDoves · 08/05/2012 18:26

Hooray Ethan! Well done you! Grin Grin See, Biccies, he was just winding you up.

Yup, Pomme, only 4 days to go before 7-7. Fact. How sweet of your DD1!

Biscuitsandtea · 08/05/2012 18:38

Awww bless your DD1 Pomme - how cute! Ds1 doesn't have to come as he is a pre-school so that's good. AMA but anxious about it as DS1 had a really hard time with the first and third lots of jabs so am planning for a bit of a hectic low maintenance type of evening. Ds1 will be be having tonight's leftovers for tea etc.....

pommedechocolat · 08/05/2012 22:11

It's now 10 days that I have been putting a to sleep upstairs at seven - seven thirty. It's going really well. I'm just canvassing opinion on the ten pm fees though.

If I don't wake her she will sleep until midnight ish and then wake another couple of times. If I feed her at ten she will generally sleep till two and then wake once more.

If I keep waking her though will i miss the seven to seven thing?!

scarletfingernail · 08/05/2012 22:31

Finally I got round to reading the thread.

Sorry to hear about your job Fluffy. Are you going to have to look for a new job immediately, or do you think you might be able to put it off until after LO has arrived?

Too you poor thing and poor M. Today has been horrendous for you. DD had her feet pricked 4 times for blood last week in hospital because she was jaundiced. They were testing it to see if she needed to go under the lamp or not. Poor little mite was only 2 days old, I had to BF her throughout the ordeal. It took a second nurse to get it out of her in the end. I knew the first one wasn't doing it properly Sad

Well done to Baby E for smiling at last. He will be fine during his jabs tomorrow Biscuits, I'm brooking no argument on that.

Ninja so pleased to read that your placenta moved.

DS told me that he loves his baby sister this morning. Aww, he's just so cute with her. I'm surprised he's so taken with her because she's either yelling, feeding or asleep Grin so not much fun for him.

My infection seems to have cleared up. I have another 2 days of anti-b's so DD and I still have upset tummies but at least I'm not feeling quite so grotty. My feet are still enormous, I still cannot get shoes on and it is starting to frustrate me. Going up the stairs on them is very painful. Has anyone got any ideas for getting them to go down? I'm keeping them elevated as much as possible but it's not working. If anything they're getting worse.

scarletfingernail · 08/05/2012 22:35

Oh and hello and welcome Pet Sorry I didn't introduce myself earlier. I have a fantastic DS aged 3 who took 18 months to conceive. Followed by 2 MCs and then finally my lovely new DD. I've been on the Brooking threads since July 2011 and have found wonderful support.

ScreamIfYouWantToGoFaster · 09/05/2012 00:15

Quick round up before DH catches me (he's given me an hour's break before I get properly into the night shift).

:( for poor Maia's bad day!

Yay for Scarlet feeling a bit better.

Thanks and Wine to Dream. I hope you have a good night with the boys tonight.

Yay for Ethan smiling at Biscuits!

Autumn was weighed today and has gained 9oz in 7days to reach 8lbs 9oz. I'm thrilled that she's past her birth weight of 8lbs 5oz after a small loss last week. She's putting all this new weight into stretching her skinny little legs though, which means she's already outgrown her newborn size clothes :( She's also still FAR too small for 0-3mth clothes in every way other than length, so it's kinda hard to dress her at the mo!

Boobs still hurt.

Had a fantastic lunch with a good friend today, and I walked to the cafe and sat on wooden chairs! It was amazing, I felt human again! We even had a quick ten minute stroll in the park after lunch, which I really enjoyed but it definitely pushed my hips to their limit. So my hips hurt in the afternoon, but it was good to figure out how far I can take my increased mobility. Hopefully the physio can get me back to normal within the next few weeks/months. Still, I'm ecstatic to not be on crutches! Woohoo!

No brooking for all! Hope everyone gets some sleep tonight!

Biscuitsandtea · 09/05/2012 02:45

Scarlet, so glad you're starting to feel better. That's really good news. Am really hoping that the last few days of ABs pass quickly enough for you both so you can get you tummies back on safe ground. It's all little steps in the right direction isn't it. And talking of little steps, I had a google on the whole ankle thing. It seems (from dr google) that it can easily last a week or two after birth, and the two main things are keeping them elevated and drinking loads of water to flush everything through your system. However, I'd say if you're at all worried have a word with the mw next time she comes out (are you still under mw care?) even if they're not due a visit you could call them perhaps? Hope it starts to go down ASAP for you xxx

Scream yay for increased mobility but booo for your poor boobs still being sore!! Glad you had albeit lunch. It we be al nice once you can just get yourself out for a stroll without thinking anything of it

pomme no idea on the waking or not thing but I'd say we're in a similar position. Except at the moment ds2 will generally wake when we go to bed (at least partly because we disturb him moving him upstairs. But similar in terms of number of wakjngs. Once at our bedtime, once at 2-ish and once at say 5 ish.

My gut feel says it won't make any difference on the 7-7 thing? I'm assuming E will just drop the feeds (or increase the time between them) as and when he's ready? With ds1 I realised at about 8 weeks that he was just windy in the middle of the night (2-3 am ish) not hungry so stopped feeding him but was still dealing with his wind pain at that time for several weeks. (and feeding him made the wind worse). Once the wind began to ease at 12-13 weeks he could then go from 10ush to 6 ish. After a while we tried stopping the 10am waking and he had a few nights getting to 2, 3, 4 o click and then could do 7-6 or 7-7.

But DS2 isn't having the wind problems of his big brother, he's hungry when he wakes at this time of night so not sure when he'll start to go a bit longer between feeds. He was starting to eeek them out a bit (not on the scale of the Too household though!) but that seems to have stopped the last 3 or 4 days and he's reverted to every 3 hours max. Am hoping this is really a growth spurt......

Sorry that doesn't really answer your question but I guess my answer is dunno!

(obviously this is all academic as she'll just start doing 7-7 at 10w 5d anyway Grin)

Biscuits hurray for the smile! What did you do to finally make E grin?

Also, good luck for the jabs today.

PetWoman · 09/05/2012 08:15

Hello Scarlet and yay that your infection is getting better and DS is being so sweet with DD.

I was quite puffy / swollen after DS's birth (though I could still get shoes on), I guess because of the drips, meds etc, for at least 10 days, then it just went. I think Biscuits' Dr Google advice sounds right.

PetWoman · 09/05/2012 08:19

Scream that's fantastic that you've ditched the crutches! I'll brook no argument that your hips will slip straight back into place once you've seen the physio. Also that your wonderfully bounteous breasts will stop hurting. Right. Now!!

PetWoman · 09/05/2012 08:23

Oh Hawthers :( can you grab a nap today? If not, have lots of Brew and hope he reads the memo before tonight!

TooImmatureTurtleDoves · 09/05/2012 11:03

OMG, I am such an idiot! Have been tidying up in anticipation of having someone round, took the dog out and threw the ball to run off some energy, dressed M in cute new outfit and was sitting here wondering where the hell friend was. Just checked email and it wasn't today at all, it's next Tuesday! Doh! Blush God, my baby brain gets worse and worse.

TooImmatureTurtleDoves · 09/05/2012 11:20

Gaah, I could have stayed in bed! M and I were co-sleeping from 7am until I shifted her into the basket at 8 so I could shower. She stayed asleep until 9 and I could have too!

The sleep has gone to pot again. I tried to put Herself down at 11pm and she did the most spectacular cottage cheese vom all over pram, blankets, face, clothes etc. By the time this had been cleaned up she was wide awake and starving Hmm. She eventually went down at 1.30 and was up at 4. Down at 4.45, up at 6.30. Sad We lost it! I think the injection upset her little tummy because she was sick a lot yesterday afternoon and evening. And this morning. She rarely sleeps in the evenings unless we take her for a walk, so I'm not sure how the 7-7 will work.

Scream, that's excellent news! So pleased your hips are improved.

Hope the jabs are going ok, Biscuits.

Biscuitsandtea · 09/05/2012 11:35

Love a good baby brain story Too Grin

Hope M's little tummy recovers from the injection soon (for her benefit obv and that of your washing pile!). Is your washing machine working again? Also brooking that once her tummy is better she'll revert to her 'waking in the night is for losers' sleep pattern.

Jabs this afternoon - eeek Confused. Have been trying to explain to ds1 that ds2 might be a bit sore and grumpy this afternoon and if his legs hurt then there is to be no leaning on him for kisses and cuddles.... Hmm

PetWoman · 09/05/2012 11:46

Ok, I actually do have a friend popping by this afternoon and intended to walk (then inevitably wash) dog, vacuum and nip to the shops this morning. But DS cried while I was on the loo (sorry if TMI) so I didn't make it to the washing and dressing (myself) stage. Then he had a feed and fell asleep in my arms and I just sat there on MN instead of attempting The Transfer - what a total idiot I am! So he finally woke up, I've changed him and dressed him in cute outfit (Too funny how we proud new mums do that!) and I now have to wait till he's finished feeding before I can attempt to shower and dress again. Aaargh! Where has the morning gone?!

Blush totally aware I sound like a lazy slattern, and mums with an older DC may be less than amused by my accidentally self-indulgent sofa-morning!

PetWoman · 09/05/2012 11:47

Too I'm sure M will rediscover her awesome sleeping ability when her tummy's better...

Biscuitsandtea · 09/05/2012 12:06

Love it pet! can't beat a bit of an accidentally lazy morning Grin. We had a similar situation here. Ds1 has to go to preschool so has to have an early ish lunch do I thought I'd better get some breakfast in him a bit earlier than the 10am we've been managing recently Blush. So thought to myself, well, ds2 will probably wake soon, better get ds1 started on his breakfast and worry about getting us both washed and dressed after he's eaten his brekkie and I've fed ds2. But I think it was still 11 ish before I was finally dressed! Am hoping ds2 will just hold on for a feed until I've taken ds2 to pre school now. Then that'll fit in perfectly before I take him to the clinic and then for his jabs.

And yes, it's awful when they cry and you're on the loo. Ds2 seems to know when my bottom hits the loo - in the same way he knows when I just lie down in bed etc!!

Biscuitsandtea · 09/05/2012 12:07

Oh and I am often to be found pinned to the chair MNing when ds2 falls asleep after a feed instead of doing whatever I should be doing!
