Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
kkfairybrains · 26/04/2012 20:58

Oh god wss has she ever wet the bed doing it?! She was very sad lookin after she done it!
Chul oh poor you I can imagine how you felt Sad. And you're breast feeding so you NEED those extra calories!!

WhatSheSaid · 26/04/2012 21:23

Don't beat yourself up over it chul, it really does happen a lot, apparently. Though I did give dh some pretty Hard Stares when he did it to A Grin.

kk no she only did it twice, then I worked out if I put her in a vest with poppers she couldn't do it. I was amazed she hadn't weed on the sheets tbh.

Chulita · 27/04/2012 07:38

Man alive, about three hours sleep in four chunks for the fourth night running...im hanging

Mlisc I meant to say gyrations on your new job Grin

memphis83 · 27/04/2012 08:28

chul I missed that about S, I didnt know that about their joints, im surprised it hasnt happened to L! Blush

I still put L in a vest with poppers every day, im sure he would be bare bummed all day if I didnt stop him from taking his nappy off!

L slept great last night, im still tired though, I fell on the stairs on Wednesday and caught the top of my arm and armpit, I look like ive been dragged around, the bruise is so bad, I can barely lift my arm!

Raining here, doesnt look set to stop anytime soon! after going to my dads will go Asda for some bits then L is going to my sisters while I clean have a bath and MN

WhatSheSaid · 27/04/2012 08:37

It's 7.30pm here and dh has just fallen asleep on the sofa. Guess it'll be me putting A to bed then...and then Corrie for me and whatever else I want to watch as it looks like dh is out for the count

memphis83 · 27/04/2012 08:48

wss welcome to my world, we put L to bed at 7, then dh is asleep by 7.30 most nights! Grin

WhatSheSaid · 27/04/2012 08:53

It was a fake sleep! I've just come back from putting A to bed and he has mysteriously woken up. I reckon he was trying to get out of bedtime stories Hmm

CakeandRoses · 27/04/2012 09:19

fake sleep Hmm that's not in the rules, surely wss?

to be fair re talking - A's not trundling out tons of full sentences, most are either what i think of as 'phrases' that she's learnt by rote rather than true sentences or word joining eg:

  • Bambi, where are youooo?
  • I dropped it
  • I got it

She's only putting simple ones together on her own - eg this morning she came and got me saying 'Horrie stuck' (meaning the cat was in her cot)

She's pretty hit and miss with recognising colours and numbers - sometimes it seems like she know a few and other times it's all a bit random

kk E sounds like a real character and deffo seems to be doing well with talking etc

oh chul i bet that made you feel dreadful but it does sound like it's v common and i'm sure we all hoik them around just like you've described

spirael loved the 'bath' exclamation! i thought you'd had some interest in your house?

mlic do you have a start date yet?

A's neither tried to get out of her cot or take her nappy off yet - but then F didn;t either. i'm in no rush to take her cot bars down - it will be some point after she's 2

Woodlands · 27/04/2012 09:27

I still always put J in poppered vests - his eczema on his back is still bad so it helps stop him scratching. He's pretty much outgrown his 18-24 month vests so I have this week finally managed to get hold of some 2-3yr vests (in M&S). They had sleepsuits in that size too and I was very tempted as he's outgrowing them too, but I think I have to accept we're onto pyjamas now as he is a big boy (sob). Plus am sick of all the poppers on sleep suits!

I need to get him some new PJs really but I want long-sleeved and long-legged ones, and I don't want character ones. Any idea where to get them from? He's had some from Primark which are Ok but haven't washed well, plus the sizing is funny.

kkfairybrains · 27/04/2012 10:17

cakes she's a real character alright! E is the same with her colours she definitely isn't reliable with them!
I put E in vests with poppers 95% of the time as they're warmer.
Woodlands I got E some sleep suits in primark in 2-3. I know they don't wash the best but for what you pay for them they're fine. Have you tried tesco for pj's? Also next always have lovely pj's in packs of 2 or 3.
Finally feeling better today after 2 whole weeks if sickness Grin. It feels so good! Need to start looking after myself a bit better as I left it way too long to go to the doc and when I went on Wednesday I had an infection in my sinus and throat and a tear in my eardrum and and infection in the ear Blush. Seems the antibiotic has kicked in too.

Spirael · 27/04/2012 10:52

The guy interested in our house booked a second appointment for his Mum to visit (the person he was scouting for), so we scrubbed the house from top to bottom, put flowers everywhere, etc... Then he never showed up or answered the estate agents calls. Charming! Nothing more since then.

Thanks for all the bed info. :) The problem with M's room is that it's absolutely tiny... You could fit a single bed in there but there wouldn't be room for any other furniture! At present we have a desk (as a changing table) and the cot crammed in there, and M could get her foot on the desk edge through the cot bars - giving her an easy step up to vault if her legs were out of the sleeping bag. She's already tried it from the other direction when getting changed.

I think what we'll do is go ahead and get M's room done up, as while acceptable at present it realy needs pretty much everything doing to it... A skim of plaster, more sockets, new carpet, etc. (At least it's so tiny it'll be cheap!) If we get the radiator changed to a vertical one and moved from underneath the window we can rearrange things so there's nothing right up against the cot. Then we can move to put a bed horizontally under the window when necessary. :)

M is another one who always gets dressed with a vest, so no chance of nappy removal. Wink I ordered some multicoloured 2-3 year vests from Tesco the other day, as she's just outgrown her 18-24 month clothes as well! A lot of her stuff comes from Matalan, including PJs. The last set has come up quite big, usefully. They are lovely and soft, and wash well.

Got some beautiful Bluezoo dresses from Debenhams for her yesterday. They're on sale at present - 20% off! Lots of lovely non-pink colours too.

Forgot to say before... Congrats on the job, MLISC! Grin It's my last day at my current job, today... I start my new one next Tuesday, eek!

Chulita · 27/04/2012 11:49

woodlands the pjs S is wearing in the pic on facebook are from m&s, I think they're lovely - long sleeves/legs and no character, the other pair in the pack has short sleeves but long legs but you could get a cheap-ass long sleeved shirt to go with if needed to stop scratching.

bf typing again so i'm off

memphis83 · 27/04/2012 13:01

woodlands I found Primark rubbish last time but they have changed them and they are washing great, they now have cuffs on the legs so no tripping over them for short legged L, they have dinosaurs and zoo animals on the pairs we have bought, also they still have the buttons on the neck which is great as L has an abnormally huge head and we are struggling with tops at the moment!

Woodlands · 27/04/2012 13:24

Ooh thanks, will try Primark and M&S.

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 27/04/2012 14:56

My favourite pyjamas of the boys are mini monde ones from Boots. Better quality than the M&S they have.

It would appear that W is the only one who doesn't wear vests anymore...day or night! Neither does E.

Memph my boys both have big heads. I always struggle with tops too! E can't get his school jumper off without help, it's funny ridiculous!

memphis83 · 27/04/2012 15:08

mlic I tried to get a age 2-3 hoody off of L's head and it got stuck, I had to cut it off! his head circumference is only 3 inches less than his dads Shock (he has my huge head and not his dads pea head!)
I can never get Mini Mode in our boots in the right size in boys!
mlic I forgot to ask when you mentioned about holiday in the summer, where you off? I really want a break of some sort, im getting jealous of dh's trip coming up to Germany on the bike :(
Just had a lovely message from my dad saying how thoughtful and wonderful I am he loved the letter but I wasnt sure while I was there as he just sat in silence reading it.

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 27/04/2012 15:19

Take a wild guess where we're going memph Wink We're creatures of habit Grin

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 27/04/2012 15:22

BTW thanks for the gyrations eveyone Grin I actually did LOL when I read that chul

memphis83 · 27/04/2012 15:29

Ooooh I knew you were going to say that

For some reason I thought you said you weren't going there. We are going in December, I want to go to the lakes to see Beatrix Potters house, ive almost convinced dh.

WhatSheSaid · 27/04/2012 20:20

Spirael I love the BlueZoo stuff from Debenhams - they actually deliver here and A has about 5 of their dresses and some T-shirts, leggings etc. They charge 14 quid to deliver to NZ but if I get a whole load at once it works out cheaper than buying stuff here (and they are way nicer too).

Woodlands We had some long sleeved pyjamas from Debenhams that have gone through 2 kids and are still in quite good condition. Dinosaurs on - quite cute.

mlic G only wears the vests now at night to stop the taking-off-the-nappy shenanigans. Other than she doesn't wears them. Your job starts so soon - exciting.

Sat am and A is busy dressing G up in her (A's) clothes...very cute. They are very sweet when they're not fighting Grin

CakeandRoses · 28/04/2012 00:01

no vests here either mlic i think they both stopped wearing them around 1yo as i'm too impatient to deal with poppers Blush

i think most of F & A's PJs are probably sainsburys and they seem to wash and wear well

just been for a lovely curry with a friend. it;s been another knackering week so it was nice to escape from everything for an evening. am now feeling all loved up with dh and fond of the children now i'm back feeling refreshed and they;re all asleep Grin

wss mine are like that to - either gorgeously cute together or cage-fighting Hmm

CakeandRoses · 28/04/2012 00:01

'like that too'

MalibuStac · 28/04/2012 00:12
