Talking abot clothes I dressed Jess everyday from when she was born but with cameron I have him in babygrows/sleepsuits evryday - dont know if it was because girls clothes where easier to manage - most trousers dont have poppers so its annoying (oh lol jess just called me a ginyus - think she meant genius - now just told me that it is a spanish word that means clever)anyway is it the clothes or is it just because he's my 2nd.

mummygow · 07/02/2006 10:20

just weghed cameron he is only 14lb just a wee heafer not a big heafer!!

jessicaandrebeccasmummy · 07/02/2006 10:38

hv just phoned 20 mins ago to say she was in area and did I want her to come and weigh Cameron - spooky as just talking to all of you about his wqeight - anyway his correct weight is 14lbs 8oz.

jrb excellent Rebecca trying to roll Camerons not yet! is she going from back to front or front to back (they say it's easier for them front to back) but Cameron hates being on his front, tried what elf was doing this morning so will keep this up everyday and hopefully he will start staying on front longer. My jess was 16 weeks when she first rolled over.

RTL are you ok - is your house falling apart?

No takers on my competition question from earlier re wakening this morning?

jessicaandrebeccasmummy · 07/02/2006 12:18

no idea about the waking!

me and becky are just back from docs - she has got diralyte and im on amoxycillan... oh the joys!

Oh and becky is in a babygro all day every day too!!!!

Moomin · 07/02/2006 12:22

i bought a bumbo on eBay on Sunday for £22. Just waiting for it to be delivered - hurrah! If you go onto eBay late at night and bid on the bumbos you're more likely to get one for under £20 (as i found out half an hour after buying one for OVER £20!)

Moomin · 07/02/2006 12:24

went to the pram service at church for the first time on Friday to show willing before the dds' christening. Forgot that I'd just stuck dd2 in her all in one fleece in the pram without getting her dressed and when i took her out and unzipped it to sit her on my knee, i discovered she was wearing her Arsenal sleepsuit, courtesy of dh! oh well, it was a talking point at least...

JustBonnie · 07/02/2006 14:42

lol Moomin!

We're just decided to go away for a long weekend to my BILs in a couple of weeks. I'm still sterilising Ruby's bottles but would love to stop as I could do with less stuff to take. Problem is I'm too scared. Mentioned stopping to a few people who were shocked and said I should at least carry on until 6 mths (not hvs just friends). Please please can someone reassure me ruby won't get ill if I stop sterilising now!

mummygow · 07/02/2006 15:08

jrm hope beckt is o.k.

moomin great tip for bunbo

justbonnie dont know as I think I would be scared too but that doesnt mean that you shouldnt as I have heard other people that dont - where are you going?

mummygow · 07/02/2006 15:09

sorry about spelling cameron sitting on my knee but you all know what i mean

SusiS · 07/02/2006 15:22

hey ladies!
sorry to hear that some of your are still / again ill

we seem to finally get back to normal 'woheyyy' - well, all 4 of us have been ill on and off since 2 weeks before xmas - so finally!!!

dd has to finish her ab's though (2nd lot!) and she still coughs a bit but that's about it.

anyways, with you on the 'broken dryer' - ours broke 2 weeks ago; dp tried to fix it and got a new belt in - well, that wasn't the problem though - but tomorrow i'll get my new one delivered

and i got a bumbo for dd 2 weeks ago! very nice!!! now i can swap her positions even more - poor baby seems to be lying on her back all the time - guess that too is a 2nd timer syndrom! and i am deffinitly with you on the 'babygro all day' thing! - also i have to admit since she's a girl i do tend to make an effort once a week

i also got dd an activity thingy - one she can sit in and the seat rotates 360 degree around, with lots of activities all around! we've got it today and she had a little go but after 2 min she wanted out. well, she wasn't too keen on the bumbo at first either - so i keep trying

but it somehow soothes my consience (sp?) - being 2nd child she gets way less attention and now i can swap her from sofa to map to bumbo to bouncy chair to activity seat to door bouncer - so lots of variety

BUT we are off in 15 days - not that i am counting the days

Elf1981 · 07/02/2006 16:52

JustBonnie - there was a thread about not steralizing bottles etc, which was recommended to a woman when she brought her baby out of hospital (IIRC he was a premmie baby too).
Anyway, the gist of the thread was to wash items in v v hot water, dry on kitchen towel. She was told was better than steralizing. If I can, I'll find the link for you, if Evie will be quiet for a min as she's been really grizzly this afternoon, bless her.

Elf1981 · 07/02/2006 16:54

Here's the thread for you. HTH
We hardly steralize things but because Evie is still breastfed it's not a major problem for us, only when she has EBM or juice, and recently I stopped steralizing and followed the advice here.

We bit the bullet got Joey a Bumbo earlier. £27.95 from John Lewis, but i used one of my christmas gift vouchers and got a tenner off. He looked so cute trying it out in the shop, next to another mum and baby doing exactly the same thing, and at least he didn't howl when i put him in it!

SusiS · 07/02/2006 18:00

sorry forgot to add: i dont sterilise either. mostly dishwasher or hot water by hand - dd seems to be allright with it

Redtartanlass · 07/02/2006 21:45

Redtartanlass · 07/02/2006 21:50

Redtartanlass · 07/02/2006 21:50

bumbo

Moomin · 07/02/2006 21:52

am obviously hallucinating about rolling babies!

morningpaper · 07/02/2006 21:52

Tummy time my arse! WHY?!?! Do people in countries WITHOUT CARPETS have 'tummy time'? I think NOT! And it leads to CRAWLING which in my book is the devil's work - you will be running around for an extra 6 months if your little one starts the crazy crawling business. If my dd rolls on her tummy she is STRAIGHT back over onto her back - I DO NOT want a crawler, dd1 was LOVELY, didn't crawl and walked at 12 months, so was always exactly where I last put her down. Really hoping for the same this time.

JUST SAY NO to 'tummy time'!

Redtartanlass · 07/02/2006 21:56

how areyou doing anyway?

Redtartanlass · 07/02/2006 21:57

mp What???????? [very confused emoticon]
