Hope you feel better soon Fastasleep. I'm off to the docs later to have my shoulder injected. Nice...NOT!

lol fastasleep, Sophia sound just like ds, pulling legs up then letting rip a fart loud enough to scare the neighbours

mummygow - ds is doing similar, doesn't seem to want as much to eat, and refusing to latch on for as long as usual, but doesn't seem to want to feed more often to make up for it and sems happy otherwise [confused emoticon]I read somewhere that they go through this grouchy, funny period at about 3-4 weeks but it should pass soon. Don't know whether it's true or not though.

One is from Marks and Spencers, got a couple from Mk One (they have some good ones in at the moment). Also, Matalan have some nice wrap dresses. Easy for breastfeeding PLUS look decent and if you get the right material, dont need ironing. What more could you want?!!!
Plus they're recommended by Trinny and Susannah for "wobbly bellies" so I'm happy!

ooh I might try a wrap dress

Bad cold and have lost my voice today, feel terrible. It's v. hard trying to parent two children when you can't speak! FFS!

Baby feeds around 7.30, then around 10.30pm (dreamfeed) then 4am and then up for the day at 7am. I'm really pleased about this because her sister woke MUCH more than this!

Becky has her last bottle at 6.30pm after her bath, then goes to bed no later than 7.30pm. She wakes occasionally at about 3am for an ounce or two, but usually it is between 4-5am and she will take anything from 1 ounce to the full 6ozs. She is then up and about for the day at about 7.30am.

So chuffed with this as Jess was still up twice a night til just recently!

Moomin - lol!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well Cameron had his wee bit of rice with his 11am bottle yesterday and I had to wake him at 7.06am this morning so we will see how it goes tonight!!

Wrap dresses sound lovely but I would feel really dressed up during the day in dresses would they be nice with jeans/trousers? - I'm really crap at putting outfits together.

Cameron is always at his most unsettled at tea time too!

Thanks for feeding advice re wrap dresses Elf. I would feel too self conscious not to have anything above Alice's mouth as he's getting really nosy and keeps coming off the breast for a look around when I feed her in public! I think if I already had my top pulled down everyone would get an eyefull! Know what you mean about exposing stomach when pulling up your top - bit draughty in this weather!

Elf1981 · 01/02/2006 08:08

mummygow they do look good over jeans, but if you dont want to feel too dressy, you can get wrap tops which are fundamentally the same thing, just shorter.

Woke up this morning thinking it was bit light for the time Evie usually wakes up (6:00) and pratically fell over my own two feet to check on her when I realised it was 8:00. She's still fast on, bless her.

Hmmm, might have to go and check out these wrap dresses, especially if they're good at hiding wobbly bits

Elf it was more the length to hide my big fat tummy that I thought was a good idea!!

Oh and hope you enjoyed your wee rest this morning

WHY did you not start applying when LO was born?!

I have claimed from day dot.... DO IT.... you are missing out - they can only back date it for 3 months xxx

Elf1981 · 01/02/2006 21:44

It's just such a confusing form! Can I claim for the childcare element even though Evie wont start til March? also, as my and DH's wages have changed a lot since last year (he earnt a lot more last year, and I have earnt less as well due to mat leave). Does it get reviewd in April due to new wage details? Argh!!

jessicaandrebeccasmummy · 01/02/2006 21:47

although it says use last years wage details - DONT - use current details.

Dont include childcare yet, phone them once she starts and they will ammend over the phone.

I put my first claim in when Jess was born in July 2004, and got a review pack in October 2005 so make of that what you will.... doubt there will be any review in April hun xxx

Ta for the info. I just thought that it may be easier to sort it out correcly come April when I have my wage details, Dh's wage details (we're talking about 8k less overall this year) and Evie will be in childcare () We're getting the child benefit already as got the form in bounty pack, it's the working tax and family tax we're applying for.
Anybody watching the Extrodinary Breastfeeding programme on channel 4?

Lovely breast feeding program. Apart from the 8 yo who was a bit odd.

elf.... I spoke to Tax credit people (finally) and they said you get extra money for having baby (called Baby element) so give them a ring to let them know your lo has been born!!! Your salary is reviewed every april and will be sorted then. Child Benefit is where we went wrong though...we completely forgot to claim it (doh!) as we didn't get a Bounty pack in hospital, so we lost out on the first 2 weeks of DS's money as you can only claim up to 3 months back pay...nice £150 in bank now though!!! HTH

Evie has been a little biting monster over the past few days. I gave her a cooled teething ring to play with, took it off her later on to get her out of the clothes she'd boffed on and she screamed her head off!

Christening tomorrow...

Oh, went to the dentist today, told I have something wrong with my gums which will continue until I stop breastfeeding!

Hope christening goes well elf.

Cameron doing great only thing is he hates lying on his stomache - I am trying him for a minute everyday to try to encourage him but he just does not like it, although he loves his door bouncer, I think it's because he can see everything from there and feels part of the family as we are all walking about chatting.

Good luck with the Christening Elf, although you've probably had it by now!

We were over in Holland last week and I wasn't looking forward to the journey with a 14 week old baby, but I must say that Johnny was good as gold which made things much easier. We used the base of his cotbed for a makeshift bed for him on the cabin floor in the ferry and he slept for 8 hours before being woken by a loud banging noise somewhere outside the cabin. A quick cuddle and he went back to sleep again. DH and I on the other hand were lying in bed trying our hardest not to chuck. The sea was pretty rough and it was a case of having to lie on your back or you might get tossed out of the bunk!

The controlled crying has been working brilliantly. I thought our trip away would unsettle Johnny, but he delighted us all with some 12 hour sleeps. The first night home was a bit muddled up, but he has slept 7pm until 7am for the last two nights after only around 3 minutes crying when he is put to bed. I have resisted the temptation to get up in the night and pump my bursting boobs because I want my body to get used to getting a full nights sleep!!

It's been very quiet on here the last few days. Where is everyone?

Howdy all. Christening went well, Evie did scream for a bit during it but it was because she was woken up by the Reverend to pour the water over her head. Then because she was all excited with the people around, she didn't sleep until half five (from half seven in the morning [gasp]) and promptly slept for most of her party. She woke around eight and I have just got home, fed her and she's asleep on the bed. Going to leave her for a few minutes before moving her to her crib.

Mummygow Evie hated being on her tummy as well. My HV told me to do it from 12 weeks, but it's only now that she's starting to like it. I found that it helped to put her on her tummy on our bed (she'd do the airplane pose) and I'd kneel next to her and pull faces at her. Also we have a proper changing table so we change her nappy in the morning and put her on her tummy for a few minutes but we put some black and white pictures in front of her and she likes to look at them, so gradually we have built it up that way.

Mawbroon glad you had a good holiday. Also ref bursting boobs, I fear I may be growing mould on my mattress due to all the leaking I did!!
