Good luck whatever you do with the sleeping arrangements RTL! Do I remember you saying that your dd is quite wee? What does she weigh now? Johnny's weight gain has been tiny for the last 5 weeks and he is now heading for the 2nd percentile on the chart. He's 13lbs 4oz. DH's cousin has a DS who is 5 weeks older and he is 22lbs!! My sensible side tells me it's fine, but my constantly worrying motherly side has me a little worried. Ho hum. Such is motherhood.

MB Blush she is teeny weeny, but still not got her weighed Blush

Will get the nanny to take this week...OOOOOOOOOOOOh hark at her...with her nanny....

I had somebody round last week, and tried to introduce the nanny.

"This is em, ah, this is ah, this is....., this is Gill who looks after the kids"

I was too embarrassed to say Nanny Blush

Then when I went to the dentist the wee dental nurse asked who had the kids, and again, just couldn't say Nanny!! I said "Oh my friend is looking after them"

WHY?

nervousmum · 13/03/2006 10:25

One of my nightmares just came true - it's terrified me ever since Joey was born that one of us would fall down the stairs whilst carrying him....well DP just didSad Thankfully it was only the last few stairs, but DP came crashing down like a ton of bricks and has grazed and bruised his back really badly. Joey howled, but appears unharmed (thankfully Daddy is well padded, and didn't let go of him!). Time to look into moving into a bungalow, methinks!

RedTartanLass · 13/03/2006 10:26

Jees&Bump's mummy says I should start a thread on it.

"Anyone else embarrassed about having a nappy?"

mummygow · 13/03/2006 10:30

oh NM are you all ok?

RTL has Nanny {{{whisper whisper gossip gossip}}} LOL - only kidding, she is just a childminder with a different title!!

MB johnny looked great the day I met you both, did not look in any way undernourished infact he was gorgeous!!

Jockey · 13/03/2006 10:33

RTL - lol at the mouse! Know exactly what you mean. Had a terrible night with ds2 waking every hour (ear ache) and unsettling baby too. It's hard trying to stop them disturbing each other isn't it? Meanwhile, dh SNORING on the sofa (grrrrrrrrrr!).

Sophie's had green poos the last few days (sorry if tmi). She appears well otherwise though. Not weaning yet so off to search the great Mumsnet archives. She's fully bf.

Oh and I finally got her weighed, she's 13lb 14oz and three months today! Just below the 25th centile, I think HV said. Mawbroon - Johnny probably does look small against a 22lber! I think that even now about my son aged 8 who looks very small ágainst some of his classmates. Just the other day I was thinking of getting him measured/weighed!!! I guess the worrying never really stops!

NM - I'll be interested to see what pushchair you go for as I'm in a similar position. Decided against the Zapp too, as it doesn't recline. Think I was just drawn to the lovely mauve colour, which is a silly reason to buy it!

jai38 · 13/03/2006 10:41

Back a again for a brief visit, glad to hear you are all well.

Isaac after mastering sleep started waking up three times a night for food, but got through it and after two weeks we are back to once a night without going on to solids. Now looking for a nice high chair as he is 22 weeks this week so want to start including him at dinner with the food if you know what I mean.

We got a new pushchair when he was about a month Blush as could not cope with the travel system and the flat stairs. We have a mamas and papas pulse and it is great, reclines flat (can be used from birth) and seems to withstand anything we trhow at it. It has some good reviews in the products discussions thread recently

Well that was a long one, back again in about four weeks proabaly

Jockey · 13/03/2006 10:47

Silly me - of course I mean she's five months today!

RedTartanLass · 13/03/2006 10:47

My dd1 is was always the smallest in his class He's 20 now and a towering 6 footer!!!

NM I fell down down 3 steps on the ice in Dec, I was holding dd and ds2. It was horrendous,I just let go of ds2 Shock and fell in an almost upright postion to keep dd safe. It was weird, it went so slow and I didn't mean to drop ds2 but instictively know what to do to "save" the baby.

I hobbled over to my friend's house and then creid for about half an hour. I got a tremdous shock. Should have seen my ankle the next day EEEk.

DS2 was none the worse for the fall, at that age the tend to bounce Grin

I remeber my mum teling me, when I was wee, my mum had a pram, with a sort of toddler seat on it. She left us, while she went into the shops and I rocked and rocked, so I tipped over the pram. She rushed out the shop ignoring screaming toddler (me) and scooped the baby up. Another customer saw to me. SHe said she couldn't help it, number priority was the baby.

I understood completely after I had that fall.

RedTartanLass · 13/03/2006 10:49

dd1 obviuosly ds1

RedTartanLass · 13/03/2006 10:50

Oh hi jai38, brilliant to hear from you Grin

nervousmum · 13/03/2006 11:02

Both DP and Joey seem fine now - i dosed DP up with ibuprofen and arnica gel, and whipped a boob out for Joey which seemed to settle him. Just relieved they are ok, that it wasn't too big a fall, and that it wasn't me - what with my already bad back and shoulder, it would have just about killed me off! I was v proud of the way DP instinctively protected his son. I guess that's what parenting is all aboutSmile

jai38 · 13/03/2006 11:12

Isaac is quite weeny as well strange for bottle fed - just topped 15lb last week follows the 23rd percentile really but is 91st for length. Strange as me and dh are both shortish

Piggiesmum · 13/03/2006 11:46

Oops I'm a bit late but Welcome to Raine71

MB - Johnny and ds could be twins lol. You have described the poo times changing perfectly lol. I am hoping like mad that ds gets back to his daily mid-morning poo asap. Dealing with 5.00am poos is not fun! Ds was also 13lb 4oz at 20 weeks. He is lighter than his 3 month old girlfriend :o but he's following his line nicely so I'm trying not to be too concerned.

RTL - yes I have those days of not knowing whether it lurking PND or rampant hormones & tiredness.

NM - that must've given you all a fright. Shock Thats one of my worst nightmares too. I have never taken so much care on stairs in my life. I do a one step at a time sideways shuffle down ours. Takes ages! Hope dp and Joey are ok.

Elf1981 · 13/03/2006 12:05

Woah, chatty lot this morning!
Evie is currently at the Childminders having a settling in period. She's been there since 10:00, I left at 10:30 and I'm not quite sure what to do with myself. I had a little wander around the shop to buy washing up liquid and am probably going to go do the ironing now (or at least blitz Evie's stuff, doesn't take long but is the bulk of it all!) and wash the pots before I pick her up around 1:00
It's crazy, she's only five minutes down the road and I miss her!!
The childminder only had two other kiddies today, a little boy and girl, they're ever so sweet. I think Evie felt like a celeb with them cooing over her :)

Hi everyone
My ds2, siles all the time, I love this part of motherhood.(smile)
he is on my lap at the moment, fascinated by the keyboard and mouse.

red37 · 13/03/2006 12:14

sorry for the bad spellingBlush

YOKEFLEET · 13/03/2006 13:01

What a busy thread we are today!! Wink
red37 my fave part of motherhood is the giggles!
elf not be long and Evie will be back with you!!
nm glad they are both ok
I had a bit of a scare of my own this weekend.. period is late, as you know I was very emotional last week and I felt really sicky for a couple of nights and then yesterday afternoon I slept for about 4hrs very un-like me (exept when I was pg) So 1st thing this morning was up and out to Tesco's for a test and it was negative. We do want more children and I posted before as we were thinking of having a close gap between but when it came to it this morning I just felt that I wanted to give Thomas my un-divided attention for quite a while yet!! Blush I am just gonna put late period down to the stresses of the year so far......

mummygow · 13/03/2006 13:21

yf feeling quite afraid myself just now - put on a top on friday and swear my chest has expanded, feeling soooooooooooooooooooooooooooo tired all the time and my period was not long ago but already feel like I am going to take them again - I would have to kill myself!!

Elf how did evie get on?

Red I love the smiles and giggles too!

Piggiesmum lol at picture of you shuffling down those stairs

Jockey · 13/03/2006 13:42

RTL - yeah I know what your ds1 is like - remember seen him on the telly!! (Is he still getting recognised?) Do you know if it is repeated any time - my MIL missed it Grin - he's something of a celeb in this area too!

Yokefleet - hope things improve very soon for you. I'm also prone to missing periods when stressed (costs a fortune in pg tests!).

Hope Evie got on ok Elf - bet she'll enjoy having the little ones to watch.

Glad Joey's ok NM - quite frightening for you. Oh and your DP of course - hope he feels better soon.

nervousmum · 13/03/2006 15:21

Just watched the home video of Joey when he was first born. I don't remember him being so tiny...want another one now...!

YOKEFLEET · 13/03/2006 15:49

NM I just don't know where the last 24 weeks have gone!! Blush

Elf1981 · 13/03/2006 15:51

Evie had a fab time with the CM, she didn't even miss me! She was there three hours, had a bit of milk, a 40 min sleep and spent the rest of the time laughing away, playing and watching the other children! Part of me is :( that she didn't miss me, the other is :) as I wont feel so bad when I go back to work!

Also got the video out the other day to see what we'd filmed of Evie when she was a baby. Did a bit more taping last night, she leant forward and licked the camera lense so we have a huge close up of in her mouth, great for when she brings home boyfriends in the future!!

I haven't even started my periods again yet so dont scare me and make me think I could be pregnant!!
