Morning Ladies

Sky slept 8:30 - 12:30 fed back to sleep awake at 4 fed back to sleep awake at 7:30 . Settled each time in her Moses basket too Smile also done a massive poop at 4am - happy as she's going, also happy as she done it without any lactulose yesterday Grin

Sky enjoyed a shower with DP this morning . She is very snuffly and having trouble breathing thru her nose Sad so steamy shower was in order and she loves it Smile

DarcieandSkysmum · 29/01/2012 10:55

Well done to Air

Mopsy Hope you feel a bit more refreshed today Smile

LMF hope DS is better soon and not bronchilitus - Darcie had that at 8.5 months old Sad but was better quite quickly with right stuff Smile

NorthernChinchilla · 29/01/2012 10:56

mmmm, I've just realised that it's not that you fancy your Doctor, the 'ooh dr', but it's the Out of Hours doctor, .

It sounds like you're having a really rough time of it lmf; I hope octoboy isn't coming down with anything, but given what you've described and the time of year it sounds likely. Glad you're able to get to the doctor's today, and hope they can sort something for you both.

And wow mopsy, that's a weird mixture of unfortunate and wonderful, a full night's sleep, but your poor OH.

I was wondering how much he was having in total kri5ty, I couldn't tell from your post? If it was small amounts but more regularly than 'usual', and he was producing dirty nappies, it could just be that he's a grazing type. But now you say he's refusing food, throwing himself back, etc, that sounds awful. Definitely get him to the doctor's, even if it's just to rule out something like reflux and to get a referral. Hope today's better for you.

We slept better last night- he was less unsettled (we went for a Saturday evening trip to Toys/Babies R Us, God how life changes! so he had a nap in the evening) fed more, and then although he kicked off when we actually got into bed, the white noise box we have soothed him.
It took about an hour of the noise and constant boob/nipple to get him to sleep, but hey, it worked [nipples of steel emoticon] and although he stirred around three he only actually had a feed gone four, so we got four hours to begin with, then about three, then 2.5, so not bad!

OH going out to the tip, Homebase, and pet shop, not to mention supermarket today, and then we'll go out with the pram so I get some fresh air....

Oh, and we bathed him this morning, so he's marginally less smelly grumpy baby!

itsybitsy08 · 29/01/2012 11:39

Air that's fab progress go Aaron clever boy! Totally emphasize re sleep, I hate hearing how tired dp is when I feel knackered. Then feel slightly guilty for thinking that, cause he probably is. But I want the monopoly on the feeling tired! Can't help it.

Mmmcheese I hope your DS gets better soon, its awful when they are poorly. I was told when DD was under the weather a few weeks ago that it was fine to give Calpol and Nurofen together, just like we would take paracetamol and ibrofen together. It did seem to work.

Mopsy that's fab for you, maybe not so much for your Dp but you deserve the sleep.

Thanks for the luck ladies but DS was very unsettled last night grunting groaning kicking about ten wailing. Till 7am when I put him in with me and he proceeded to lift off the bed with the force of the fart he left off Grin

sevenswansaswimming · 29/01/2012 11:40

lmf hope octoboy is ok.

Glad it sounds as though everyone else got some sleep.

air great that the potty is winning, especially as its only day 4.

We had a really nice night and a lovely meal, though I was pretty eager to get home. Eva managed to go all night without a feed again but was asleep on my chest from 3.30 again. It's quite frustrating that she's capable of going through the night but still wakes up.

itsybitsy08 · 29/01/2012 11:47

Lmf hope your DS will be okay.

aethelfleda · 29/01/2012 12:33

Good luck with doctor lmf and hope octoboy just has a simple virus: it is bronchioltis season but if they suspect that will give you specific advice.

Yay mopsy for a full nights sleep! I'm lousy at getting night input from DH but that's cos I know it's better for him to get sleep at night and then he's perky enough to help with DDs on the breakfast shift.

Got to church for first time with all three and it was great! Sneakily fed DS in the first half and he was impeccably behaved from then on. He got lots of cooing and "enjoyed" (while asleep) being the centre of attention at the post-match coffee.

aethelfleda · 29/01/2012 12:38

And air, that's fantastic! Lots of praise for A and maybe a special treat when he manages a whole day without hitting the floor?

(we have used strategies such as stickers/choc buttons and then a new pair pyjamas (child picks) for whole dry day.)

Another thing my two really enjoyed was going to Tesco to pick their own multipack of "big girl pants" once we'd moved past the cheapy training ones.

luckysevens · 29/01/2012 12:38

Testing a name-change, realised I still had my Xmas name!

OiMissus · 29/01/2012 13:31

Hi all, feel like i've been away for aaages. In fact, I did a big post at 4am yesterday morning, but it was eaten by the nighttime wifi pixies when i pressed send, and i then lost the will to live.
Huge hugs for Kristy - good advice from aethel re a 2nd GP. Hope it works and you get the solution soon.
hawthers good that your LO has seen the light and is saying lovely things - just keep it in store to cancel out when he says the next rubbishy thing!
air potty training successes - I'm excited for you!
darcies thanks - I'd never thought of taking LO into the shower with me - I might give it a try.
We're doing ok here in the Oi household. LO is ever gorgeous. He tends to have his last evening feed (after chomping continuously) at around 9, he'll then sleep til 1:30, then 4:30, then 7:30 - then he gets into bed with me and we snuggle for the last hrs sleep. He sleeps in a moses basket sat in his crib just at the side of me, and i drag him in bed for a feed lying down when he starts grizzling (either i get to him before he cries, or like you figgy he just doesn't cry at night). He'll have a sleepy feed, and will settle back down again really easily. I also do any nappy changes on the bed.
DH doesn't do the nighttime work as I'm bf-ing. He will often wake and give a consoling kiss, but he'll doze. I'm happy with that as he works with chemicals, and drives a lot, and i need him to come home safe!
At weekends, he'll often take LO downstairs early so i can have an uninterrupted lie-in.
I'm going to try LO with the crib again tonight, he's really too big for the moses now, his head and toes would touch the ends if he stretched out. (4 months, my ar$e!). He was quite happy in it, it was me who panicked when i was waking to find him pressed against the side, on a tilt, with an arm hanging out. I'll have to fix it in place.

DarcieandSkysmum · 29/01/2012 14:09

Sky's under the weather, is very pale, sleepy & not bothered about finishing her bottles Sad will see how she goes in the week as got our 6week check on Friday.

Darcie's gone to a bowling party, Sky's asleep on me, Neil's in the bath & I'm watching and hoping Djokovic beats Nadal but don't think it's going to happen - then maybe have a nap!

YBR · 29/01/2012 15:12

Flying visit.
We're a plague house temporarily. DH now has my man-flu and the LO had a bad night (for her) and has a temperature so she's probably infected too.
Paracetamol all round!

Figgygal · 29/01/2012 15:20

Successful first trip out in the babasling went round the local garden centre, stopped for tea and scone, good root round not a cry he slept the whole time hope it bodes well for his trip to the airport on Wednesday. Then we went to the local pub to introduce him to the landlady and he slept in fact he still is asleep.

Sorry to hear some of you have unwell LOs.

I'm catching up on Friday nights new girl, not sure if any of you watching it but I think it's hilarious.

LittleMissFlustered · 29/01/2012 15:55

Lurgy bingo players please tick off another bronchiolitis on your cards. Doctored referred to PASSU, who've decided to keep him overnight to fill him with oxygen.

Hope everyone else is having a sparkly Sunday. Will try to catch up properly later:)

NorthernChinchilla · 29/01/2012 15:58

This is it figgy, when a sling works, it really works. So pleased that your trip out went well, and Envy of your scone- the full on 'cream tea' version was a favourite pregnancy treat.
My DS is also currently asleep in his sling!

Remember to ring a bell before you come on the thread then YBR! Does your DH cope well with man-flu, or is he one of the wilting violet types?

We've had a chilled Sunday, read papers, watched Poirot (ahem!), lopped small tree in garden, and now just poured a little port and will call my Mum. Have also agreed to go into work next week, and it will be my longest trip out and first on public transport, so that should be interesting...

NorthernChinchilla · 29/01/2012 16:01

Oh no LMF! I'm so sorry he's in hospital, but at least he's getting the treatment he needs.

Best wishes to octoboy and take care of yourself.

mopsytop · 29/01/2012 16:04

Hi alll, sounds like all having fairly good Sundays! We had a yummy roast, then went circa nice walk, now playing ticket to ride on the iPad while minimopsy sleeps. V nice!

aethelfleda · 29/01/2012 16:05

D'oh! Really sorry to hear that LMF, it did cross my mind when you said he was wheezy. Really hope he settles quickly with it and you are home soon. (((hug)))

mopsytop · 29/01/2012 16:07

Oh LMF sorry didn't see your post. Hope baba is ok :( how stressful

LittleMissFlustered · 29/01/2012 16:26

He's much improved on the oxygen, he's even had a sleep on a flat surface not made of mummy :o

I am starving though. Last meal was at six last night. My milk is going to be crap tonight >_

hawthers · 29/01/2012 16:47

Oh lmf I'm so sorry to hear that. Hope he makes a speedy recovery. Are you back pumping again? Will be thinking of you both

msbuggywinkle · 29/01/2012 16:56

lmf don't worry about your milk, you would have to be starving to death for it to affect your milk, 24hrs will only affect you, not the milk. Hope Octoboy is well and home quickly.

Having a chilled Sunday here, just feeding the bottomless pit baby after a roast. DP is putting together DD1's new chest of drawers, usually flat pack is my job...he has been a while!

LittleMissFlustered · 29/01/2012 17:56

I'm hoping to hit the canteen before it closes, at the very least try should have a baked spud:)

Thanks for all the well wishes. I'm hoping we're not in for too long, am keeping all manner of digits twisted:)

DarcieandSkysmum · 29/01/2012 18:09

LMF Hope Octoboy gets better quickly and your home soon.

I'm tired.com think the broken sleep is finally catching up with me.

Mmmmcheese · 29/01/2012 18:12

LMF as far as I know hospitals have to feed bfeeding mums who stay with their children. When DD was in with bronchiolitis on the paediatric ward I got double portions of the childrens' food. It was much better than the adult options! Lots of chips and ice-cream :)

DS still not well. Just coaxed him to eat a hot cross bun but his temp is still 39 even after calpol/ibuprofen. He asaked to go to bed at 3pm this afternoon. That's not right for a 2 year old! Have called "oooh doctor" again ;)
