mmm sorry to hear your ds is waking with nightmares and that only daddy will do. Telling myself things will get better and it won't be like this forever....

mopsytop · 26/01/2012 03:07

Jealous Oi have now been feeding for two hours forty five minutes. feeling incredibly frustrated. and tired obviously.

itsybitsy08 · 26/01/2012 03:09

mopsy no advice, sorry, but just to say hi and let you know you are not the only one awake :) my DS is making sure if that (yawns) also doing a mammoth feed here, on off in basket grunt fart whinge scream back out of basket!
Hoping to get him settled before DD wakes up and I need to start rushing around on the school run plus dp has a job interview timmorow that I have to drop him off at (fingers crossed, as he was laid off on Monday) but I have to iron his suit too and I bloody hate ironing. He has managed to loose his only tie so will also be rushing round town to buy on in time.

mopsytop · 26/01/2012 03:14

itsy v relieved this is my first as don't think wd be getting any sleep otherwise. Good luck with all your tasks, sounds manic!

itsybitsy08 · 26/01/2012 03:21

Oi Alistair sounds fab - can he have a word with all the other babies about how these night feeds should be done please?

Mmm and hawthers Dd has also said similar to me on occasion and yes it hurts and makes you feel rubbish, bit of course they don't mean it at all.

Have just noticed DS's eye - it had been a tad watery today but it now looks all sticky and crusted up. Looking like a trip to docs is on the cards too now? Best to get to get it checked do we think?

mopsytop · 26/01/2012 03:24

Try squeezing some breast milk into it. Works really well for me for clearing up sticky eyes and easier than boiling and cooking water to clean it.

itsybitsy08 · 26/01/2012 03:29

thanks mopsy :) I think its amazing how people cope and the punishment our bodies take but every one just keeps on going. And how these nights will soon seem a dark and distant past when we are waving the kids off to uni before we know it! DD was 4 last Monday, and I literally can not understand where the time has gone and what it has done with my baby girl?!

itsybitsy08 · 26/01/2012 03:32

Thanks for that tip, does it really? Oooh will definitely give that a try. Bless him.

mopsytop · 26/01/2012 03:36

I know, it is not forever! Right now feel like crying with tiredness, however. Not much sleep last night either and second night in a row makes it harder. But I guess I should just be grateful I got a couple of okay nights this week!

She now appears to have stopped feeding (3 hours later) but is grunting, crying, kicking and writhing about. I guess a poo explosion is brewing ...

mopsytop · 26/01/2012 03:39

Yes my midwife told me about it. She said it doesn't bother baby at all and certainly it never appears to bother minimopsy andcreally clears up the goo. I try and drip it into the inner corner if her eye so it then runs down into the ret of the eye but it takes some manoeuvring of the breast :) I generally end up spraying her face as well!!!

aethelfleda · 26/01/2012 04:03

Hiya have been up for 30 mins but DS keeps falling off boob so not able to type when feeding 2 handed!! Also DS seems to have pocked up a snuffle so he's been a job to settle.

, hope MM has let yoi get some sleep now: we're in the 3 week growth spurt over here, maybe that's why MM is so hungry?

Anyone else still up?

Mmmmcheese · 26/01/2012 04:05

DD had a few bouts of watery then sticky eye and breastmilk cleared it up really well. I think aethel said its fine not to take them to the GP unless the eye is also bloodshot. I think its blocked tearducts?

Woke up feeling really sick and got worried about this V and D thing going around but tummy just rumbled so think I am just hungry Hmm

Mmmmcheese · 26/01/2012 04:07

Me! Was just talking about you aethel!

aethelfleda · 26/01/2012 04:12

For a simple blockednduct (sticky eye)Breastmilk or booled cooled water with gentle cotton bud on the eyelid (not the white bit of eye!) is a good frst step. If stickyness very peristant, or white of eye goes red,or eye becomes swollen, or you're worried, then GP.

Arg, DS has just fed to sleep then done what sounds like worlds biggest poo. Squelch. Arg.

aethelfleda · 26/01/2012 04:24

Nappy changed, DS back on boob, operation feed-into-lala-land commencing.

Mmmmcheese · 26/01/2012 04:29

Grr DD all settled then as soon as I lie down and get comfortable she wakes up. She's full but seems to need boob to sleep then has too much and is sick so wakes up and it all starts again. Here we go..

Mmmmcheese · 26/01/2012 04:34

And voila....shoulder decorated as predicted

This is why I want her to take a dummy!

aethelfleda · 26/01/2012 04:34

Ooh I know. DD2 used to do that all the time.

OiMissus · 26/01/2012 04:38

I spoke too soon, of course. He then spent an hour grunting and writhing about - generally sounding like Marge Simpson. Unsettled but asleep.
Gave him another feed (10 mins or so til he totally lost interest), changed nappy, put back down... Silence... Grunty grunty grunty. He's just a bit snotty I guess.
Oh well.
More z z z's please.
Good luck ladies. X

aethelfleda · 26/01/2012 04:49

Aarg, failure to go down in basket followed by another feed with a side dish of minir blocked nose snuffle (I'm feeling for you, oi!)

mopsytop · 26/01/2012 05:15

30 minutes sleep and she is off again. how can she still be hungry! Hello to all you other bleary eyed people!!

DarcieandSkysmum · 26/01/2012 06:53

Morning ladies.

Hawthers Keep Smile Darcie says she hates me at least once a week, I just say ok now. At first uses to upset me but I've grown a thick skin when it comes to her behaviour!

Sky slept from about 9-2am in her Moses basket and settles back into it afterwards. The change in milk has def helped. She also sounds like Marg Simpson due to having the snuffles.

Spoke to my HV last night and she said what I was doing wrt changing her milk was fab and def thinks will help her & the fact I'm already giving her water in the day is great. Says I'm doing fine and she wouldn't of advised any different Grin

Plan for the day:
Get dressed for school run
Get breakfast
Get Darcie & Sky ready
School run
Clinic for Sky to be weighed.
Come back and have a nice bath with Sky.
Hoover & Polish
Nip to my nans for a cuppa.
School run
Entertain Darcie
Eat
Sleep

AnAirOfHope · 26/01/2012 07:50

Score for day one: Floor 10 potty 3

Hope did not sleep last night and i caved and give her to DH to rock to sleep at night when i went to bed. I took phone up so he could call me when to change over but i was so asleep that i didn't hare it five times Blush when i did wake up i took her to bed and put her in cot and she sleeped.

She is sleeping on and off now in my arms!

Plan today:
carry on potty training
Get Aaron ready for nursary and send with GP's
Do clothes washing
Clean/tidy kitchen
Pick Aaron up from nursary
Take DH clothes back to primart and get size 30 and not 28 so he has clothes for dress down on friday
Make shopping list
Clean bathroom
Get DH to put clothes away

I should take Hope to get weighted today but i was obssessed with Aaron's weight gain and went every week for a year and it got to the point where the hv asked me not to go every week Blush So as i got her weighted last week and i know she is feeding and ok i'm going to go every two weeks and try to relax more about it Blush

msbuggywinkle · 26/01/2012 08:49

Morning!

Solidarity with the night shift! Although I have been beyond lucky with DDs2&3, I remember it well with DD1. It occurs to me that I may have spent too much time in the Occupy squat lately, I am picking up the jargon.

Plan for the day...

Not much as the big DDs have horrible coughs.
Washing
Crochet as I have something that needs finishing
Ring the people who are building my new chicken run
Artfully strew educational stuff around the living room for DD1 to do when she feels like it.

MissRee · 26/01/2012 09:45
