Aethel Thats great news.

Right Ladies, I have a task for you all. I need to find a nice necklace to give to my bridesmaids to say thank you for being a bridesmaid so any help in the right direction would be appreciated.
Also what the hell do I get DP as a wedding present?!

MissRee · 23/01/2012 17:05

Darcie my sister makes custom jewellery... gorgeous sparkly stuff! Do a Facebook search for "Arcobaleno" and she should come up. Otherwise I think the website address is www.Arcobalenojewellerydesign.co.uk

Freya is doing well - we had our 10-day MW appointment today and have been signed off Grin she's gained 2oz since birth!

I'm still massively sore, to the point that I can't stand up for long without feeling like I have an anchor tied to my ladybits... apparently it's normal for Labial grazing to hurt for this long though Sad

fusam · 23/01/2012 17:07

Darcie what's your price range for the necklaces and what is your DP into generally?

Honey I would guess it was a virus but speak to the docs if worried about allergies.

Had a HV visit last week and she said that they advise bf mothers avoid all citrus fruits including my morning oj (sob) for the first 6 months as it's an allergen.?!? Is that right? Also, she said to avoid things like onions, garlic, lentils and pulses etc but not sure why Confused. Is it all a bunch of nonsense? It is a large part of my diet. DD is not having any problems with feeding and is gaining well, although a bit windy (manageable) so not really sure why I need to over hall my diet so extensively.

DarcieandSkysmum · 23/01/2012 17:09

Thanks MissRee Will have a peek :)

aethelfleda · 23/01/2012 17:46

These Are really pretty: about £23 each (wedding bells theme)

bell necklace

msbuggywinkle · 23/01/2012 18:01

fusam utter nonsense! www.kellymom.com/nutrition/mom/mom-foods.html

aethel brilliant! Hope you get the tounge tie sorted too.

hlcc I keep my DDs with me until they are reliably sleeping all evening, once they are I nurse them to sleep in bed (mattress on floor) then run away! Other people I know set their beds up with bed rails or side car cots to make bed a safe place for them on their own.

sevenswansaswimming · 23/01/2012 18:06

honey until it clears up I'd recommend using a nasal aspirator. I got one when DS was a baby and it works really well at removing snot (though it's a bit gross!).

Had a nice day, lunch with my friend, then out to the park the back foras bucket of tea. Eva has been sleepy nearly all day, either she's probably coming down with something or she'll be awake all night.

Right, off to bath the DC's then bedtime followed by prawn curry and knitting.

Kri5ty · 23/01/2012 18:20

massive post just been eaten by the MN gremlins!! will post a shortened version after Sauls bath!

bennybenbear · 23/01/2012 19:05

Darcies I bought necklace and earring sets for my bridesmaids. They were silver and pearl from the jewellery quarter in Birmingham they weren't v expensive but the nice thing was they came with a presentation box which I got engraved with s thank you message. That meant I could give them the jewellery to wear but then had the box to present them with during the speeches. You can get then online at giftgift.co.uk

DarcieandSkysmum · 23/01/2012 19:09

Benny Brilliant thanks Smile

LittleMissFlustered · 23/01/2012 19:24

I think I have fixed the photos on my profile

Kri5ty · 23/01/2012 19:43

We took Saul to the HV today, to discuss his symptoms and possible milk allergy... i explained about how after every feed he was very mucusy/ struggled to breathe / sounds like he is choking, she said "all babies get colds", when i mentioned his rash she said "all babies get rashes", i explained about how he is refusing feeds/ falling asleep on bottle all of a sudden and she said "how old is he, he is due a growth spurt, he will be eating more" erm helloooo he i just told her he was taking 1-2 oz less a feed!! HADDOCK!!!! O and i also got the "all babies cry", when i tried to explain about his screaming as though in pain

ADVICE ON FF POOP PLEASE His used to be like a paste, now it is more like runny paint, is that normal? Also it smells of sour milk

air good luck :o

hawthers i feel for you, and share your pissed off-ness! OH works every other day 7am-8pm, he gets up at 6am, which is a normal time to get up i think??? On the nights before he is in work he doen't do any night feeds, so i have him all night, then all day and evening hilst he is in work. Then when he gets in from work, Saul is already in bed, come the 2am feed he is "too tired" to do it, as he has been in work all day!! I have to get up and make the bottle and force him to do it, at which he is pissed off, baby is screaming and i am wide awake... i may as well just get up and do it as i cant get back to sleep then!!

seven it is so hard to get out and about, especially when LO is crying non stop... you just dont get chance to even get dressed!!

My aims for this week 1) to be takn seriously at the doctors
2) to make baby cinema at the trafford centre tomorrow
3) to try and go for a walk
4) attempt to clean!

aethelfleda · 23/01/2012 19:56

fusam it's another mental HV!! There is no reason at all to avoid citrus while BFing. Where do these people get their ideas from?

And this afternoon DS has been constantly on the boob: think it's that 3 week growth spurt... This calls for chocolate digestives and The Comfy Chair...

bennybenbear · 23/01/2012 20:34

Kristy what is baby cinema?!

OiMissus · 23/01/2012 20:37

Kristy what's baby cinema?
And you have my sympathy about the crappy MW. Why was she so awkward? You are the mum, you know your baby, and you believe something isn't right - they should listen and try to witness the symptoms in order to help you!
And if something was wrong, and you tell yourself, "all babies cry" - you'd be done for neglect or worse! Grrrrr!
(DH is away from home, and so far so good, no pains, no ambulances. Grin - and Alistair is being quite good. ...I can't believe I was so stupid to write that last bit. It's all going to go pear-shaped now, isn't it?)

Kri5ty · 23/01/2012 20:38

bec you should come :-) starts at half 11, they show films that are on at the cinema, only its turned up louder, the lights are brighter and babies are in there too! No one cares if your baby crys as everyone elses do! You take your car seat/ basket / carrier in with you :) and can feed etc in there/ walk around with them

You can take the buggy and they store it for you until after the film

Kri5ty · 23/01/2012 20:38

noooo come to baby cinema too :o

Kri5ty · 23/01/2012 20:42

i ment to say nooooo he will carry on being good!

sevenswansaswimming · 23/01/2012 20:53

kristy your HV sounds crap, if you think something isn't right take him to the dr, your his mum and are more likely to know if something's wrong. Also Eva's poo was really runny and smelt foul, it's now much better and I wonder if it's because she wasn't digesting her milk properly. And yes all babies cry a reasonable amount, not scream in pain every waking moment :(

bennybenbear · 23/01/2012 20:54

That sounds ace!! How often do they do that? Am well up for coming to one!

Kri5ty · 23/01/2012 21:04

every tuesday, it starts at 11.30 :) i'm there 2moz, not sure about the week after, but i go every week :o

your first time, buy a premier card... it works out at 1p more than the normal ticket price as you get discount and they take it off your first visit!

seven i just dont know what to say so i dont sound like a paranoid 1st time mum!!

Kri5ty · 23/01/2012 21:09

i feel like if i go in and say- he has stopped eating, refuses food, falls asleep now whilst feeding, throws himself about everywhere when im trying to feed him, crys constantly, never is content, wheezes and cant breathe after feeding, has rashes, his eyes go red after feeding, has really runny pooh, spits his feed out when he does take it, and is full of gas (all of which are classic symptoms), they will just make me feel stupid

I dont even know how to start the conversation !

msbuggywinkle · 23/01/2012 21:19

Argh! Haddock for DP please. Miri is cluster feeding and has been since 5pm, I walk into the kitchen where DP has supposedly been finishing off dinner (just needed to heat curry and cook rice) for 20mins, to find him only just putting the rice on...I am bloody starving! Have stomped up to bed and told him not to bother now.

AnAirOfHope · 23/01/2012 21:41

not started potty training yet Sad

Hope is lifting her vhead up Shock

Its her first needle tomoro and Air's attacxhment assessment starts tmoro at 9am. I'm so tired.

Kitty5824 · 23/01/2012 22:27

...please remind me that just because we were given John Lewis vouchers for Xmas/baby presents, it is still RIDICULOUS to be considering buying an outfit for Seb that costs £55 just because the little flat cap is cute.

...and also that going to a wedding in 2 weeks does still not justify such spending

Off to find similar but cheaper outfits on ebay......
