Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I'm nervous about it too! Although I had a CS so no damage as such down there, I wasn't allowed to have sex while I was pregnant so its been about 10 months and I just feel very weird about it, kind of lost any sort of urge after so long, but feel so sorry for DH and know I should just get it out of the way. Slightly concerned about any touching of sore nipples though - sorry TMI!!

aethel I noticed a huge difference with both of my two after having their tongue ties cut. In both cases the NHS said that as they were gaining weight well they wouldn't do it so we had it done privately both times. Turnes out DS had a 100% tie and the lady was surprised he could even latch on, and DD had an 80% tie and again the lady was surprised she was gaining so well and my nipples hadn't dropped off! The change was immediate both times and continued to imrpove for a couple of weeks, in terms of latch, windiness, less posseting and quicker and more efficient feeding.

Kri5ty · 20/01/2012 22:23

My stitches are still uncomfy after nearly 8 weeks, and have a massive scar so I'm worried about how he will react, but most of all I'm worried about my pelvic muscles! No matter how many I do I still have little control and I think if we have sex there would be an accident :( also I'm very paranoid about not being as 'snug'!

Have bought an exerciser to use, but I haven't had time to use it :(

Kri5ty · 20/01/2012 22:25

Mmm its been about the same for us, I wasn't very body confident whilst pregnant so we didn't have it, and now I'm too nervous! Feel so sorry for him, but I'm really worried about me being rubbish!!

Kri5ty · 20/01/2012 22:33

On the baby front, I have just done a dream feed... will see if it makes him sleep for longer!

sevenswansaswimming · 20/01/2012 22:39

kristy the last time I got Eva up for a feed before we went to bed she didn't settle again for 2 days! I certainly won't be doing it again. Instead now I just doze on the sofa until she wants her late feed then go to bed afterwards.

Figgygal · 20/01/2012 22:41

I think it's been 4 months for us DH is very good about it but I think he's quite sad really.

mopsytop · 20/01/2012 23:39

I am very nervous too, especially after bug episiotomy and stiches and pelvic floor feels weak too. Need to do more exercises-keep forgetting! Going to wait until 6 week check anyway. But wondering when we'll even fit it in! Hardly ever in the bed at the same time ad doing shifts with minimopsy and when we do manage it we are both exhausted and just need sleep!

mopsytop · 20/01/2012 23:40

Big not bug!

mopsytop · 21/01/2012 00:21

In spite of my lovely sleep last night, exhausted again and baba won't stop demanding food! Guzzle guzzle. I want to sleeeeep! Anyone else up? I hope you are all slumbering peacefully!

LittleMissFlustered · 21/01/2012 00:27

I'm up, though I wouldn't exactly say awake >_

mopsytop · 21/01/2012 00:37

Hi LMF!

mopsytop · 21/01/2012 00:39

Minimopsy is doing her usual feed for a few minutes, fall asleep, I put her down, she wakes up crying, feed for a few minutes etc. It isvery annoying! Just want her to stay awake long enough to feed until actually full and then sleep properly!

LittleMissFlustered · 21/01/2012 00:47

Never had the short feeds, but until last night it was the refusal to sleep that was killing me. He could feed for literally hours and still not go down to sleep:(

I hope mini feeds properly soon for you.

mopsytop · 21/01/2012 01:22

Argh thought she might have gone asleep but no :(

Kri5ty · 21/01/2012 02:53

He is far too strong for me! Just gave him his bottle and he is throwing himself everywhere :-( not a happy baby

Want to try and get more for him, but it means leaving him screaming on his own and OH in spare room!

aethelfleda · 21/01/2012 03:05

Hope minimopsy is asleep now!

Ds just awoke after his usual 2 hour boob-swapping-tankup, he seems to zonk about 10pm which is my cue to leg it to bed as fast as I csn.

Juat had a 2 boob night feed and he seems Perfectly OK, latch looked/felt pretty good to me, have discussed with DH who was v supportive. We will offer him a bit of EBM over weekend but only if he is still awake after a feed Or the feed setms small/short, and if his weight stays down I'll insist on a bf referral/tonguetie check. If the MEs get sniffy again and won't refer me on NHS i will just have to pay to see someone privately (I love google: we've not got insurance but hey, this is what savings are for)

......

aethelfleda · 21/01/2012 03:14

Aaand nope, we've woken iutselves up with hiccups and would like some more boon just to make sure....

Kri5ty · 21/01/2012 03:21

Those hiccups have a lot to answer for!

I hope you get the check on nhs, they are crap if you don't!

Mmmmcheese · 21/01/2012 03:40

It cost us £180 each time to get it done privately (eeek!) But still worth it. The lady came to our house and did it then stayed to check latch etc afterwards. Maybe I should retrain as a tongue-tie snipper!

I'm trying to get a huge bubble of air out of DD. I know its in there but won't come out! Sooooo sleepy...

LittleMissFlustered · 21/01/2012 04:00

Never had the short feeds, but until last night it was the refusal to sleep that was killing me. He could feed for literally hours and still not go down to sleep:(

Figgygal · 21/01/2012 05:13

Ah after last nights 2 very long feeds we've gone 10.30-4.45 and I managed to get him up, changed and on the boob without him crying at all for the first time ever....what a difference!!!! If only he'd realise how less stressful that is and how it means if he's not screaming and thrashing he'd get his food quicker but I know at 4 weeks that really is too much to ask Grin

aethelfleda · 21/01/2012 07:26

Wow figgy, that's great!

Thanks kri5ty, we'll see what the next midwife is like on Monday, I am a terrible fibber so will just have to fess up to not managing much EBM over the weekend. We'll take the bottle we have to our playdate this afternoon and Dh will try him with it, and I'll pump another bottle tonight. But I much prefer enthusiastic demand feeding as all the signs seem to be tongue tie. I looked on the tongue tie website and everything fits ( not latching v deeply sometimes, falls off nipple when tired, needs to take more breaks when boob is emptier and flow slower, tries to nibble at front if boob if not adjusted on).

In other news, I'd like a nomination for devious mother award: DD2 is obsessed with toy doggies. I got her to wear her cat pyjamas last night by telling her it was actually a dog in fancy dress. Howzat??

OiMissus · 21/01/2012 09:04

He he he! Love the devious mother story. Grin
Well, ahem, sex... It didn't quite work. I had a cs so was not expecting any difficulty, but I guess stuff all moves around down there. It was really tender so we gave in and did other stuff instead Wink . We used a condom this time and it must've created more friction, as we forgot last time, and whilst tender it wasn't painful. We shall persevere! Sorry if tmi!

LittleMissFlustered · 21/01/2012 09:16

Hats off for giving it a go. After my first I growled if my their half so much as looked at me for the first few months after birth:o
