I'm not that motivated. I'm usually having to really mentally kick myself to move on to the next thing that needs done. Anytime I'm missed doing it means that life is just too depressing and no one does it. I end up tripping up and getting brused falling over stuff and spend ages trying to find things. I try to reassure myself that it's like a dance if I dont do tasks in a timely fashion then life becomes unbearable. House still doesn't function completely smoothly mind.

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 15/03/2012 13:53

ILike that was my thought reading that, 'Holy shit!'.

Arch that is stunning, seriously. DS1 loves Tree-Fu Tom, he does all the actions and copying - it is in danger of making him co-ordinated! Grin

T just keeps waking up in the night, the little darling. He is learning to talk, and wants to practice at 3am. And he has taken to not lying down between us when he is in our bed, he likes to sleep on my head. Which is nice, not. So we spend ages trying to settle him back to bed, he kicks off, needs another feed so he is back in our bed and I drop off a bit and then he climbs onto my head and wants me to have a chat.

The talking is cute though. We get 'no Daddy' when he wants me for milk, and he says 'bye-bye DS1' when DS1 leaves the room :)

Birthhippy9 · 15/03/2012 14:52

I wasn't sure to mention this earlier but I'm day 30, no apprearance of AF although I was 34 day last cycle. I cant look at food, cant smell or keep down much. I'm getting knackered in the day and I'm feeling slightly dizzy with feeling sick. i did a POAS test yesterday to reveal a negative so I dont know what's up with me. Breasts painful. If what I'm thinking is right then we'll have another to add to our already growing numbers by Christmas.

Birthhippy9 · 15/03/2012 14:53

I'm impressed with the talking Ali and the foot in the head style sleeping made me smile.

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 15/03/2012 15:57

Oh my arch - you sound a little, hesitant?

Birthhippy9 · 15/03/2012 16:03

We wanted another baby before I'm 35 and every child is a blessing but I must admit that an 18 month gap is slim and even a 19 or 20 month would be easier on reflection. I suppose that with breastfeeding I thought it would take a few months extra. Maybe I'm being selfish and of course no matter what if there's a baby it's more than welcome but I'm feeling emotional and somehow a bit upset. Could be hormones. I'm sure I'll get over it soon enough.

Birthhippy9 · 15/03/2012 16:07

We always wanted the children to be born so they could share rooms either if the third was a girl or boy. This way if it's the case I'll have 22months and 18 month gap making it possible that the three year gap between F and the youngest would make it reasonable to share a room with bunk beds. Using the girl boy sperm theory of times I'm thinking if there is a baby then chances are it's a boy.

OutMeAndDie · 15/03/2012 17:14

Sperm theory?

Hope your ok arch

Birthhippy9 · 15/03/2012 17:22

Yes I'll be fine.

Yes there's a theory that male sperm swims faster and dies quicker than female sperm which tends to take their time steadily and live longer. Following the theory it means that if you DTD well before ovulation then chances are that you'll have a girl as that'll be the majority type of sperm that is available to fertilise the released egg. It also follows that you're more likely to conceive a boy if you wait for ovulation and then DTD because the faster ones will tend to get there first and the first one wins. The theory only tips the balance but I think we're much more likely to have a boy given where I was in my chart. I'd very much like another boy. Of course if I ever have another girl they'll be loved just the same as my child naturally but if I was honest I have it in my mind that i'd like another boy. Not sure if I've explained it well enough but hopefully you get the idea.

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 15/03/2012 17:52

arch that certainly held true for us, with the boys.

You are bound to feel emotional - unexpected pregnancy is a big thing to process at any time. And of course if you are then there will be all the hormones sloshing around which doesn't help with being on an even keel! I shall offer a for now, and wait until you have PAOS to offer congratulations :)

DS1 has been a right monkey today, he ran off twice in the supermarket - once it took me more than a minute to find him, which of course felt like about half an hour...

Birthhippy9 · 15/03/2012 18:00

Thanks. It's especially times like these that I appreciate being able to share this with folk I trust.

Birthhippy9 · 15/03/2012 18:06

F drives me demented with the darting off in the supermarket so much so that I either take reins, do online delivery, wait for the weekend or go on my own in the middle of the night. Not that all that helps when you are recovering from shock after your DS has gone AWOL already. At least there's folk that understand!

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 15/03/2012 18:32

It can take a while to get your head round an unplanned pregnancy (ds1 was a surprise!), but as you say, all children are a blessing. Come and cry and have a wobble here whenever you need it. Has your temperature risen Arch?

Ds1 was a surprise and ds2&3 were both conceived the first month of trying, so I am a firm believer of the sperm theory too Grin

I haven't had a supermarket incident with ds2 yet, but that's because he refuse's to go in one. Which is good for me and my blood pressure. I would be a mess if I couldn't see him. Here's a Wine Ali.

Off out to the cinema tonight. It's an indie one where you can take a glass of wine in with you. Tis very civilised Smile

Birthhippy9 · 15/03/2012 18:38

Nods to the temperature rise. `Thanks ILTMIMI

Cinema sounds posatively heavenly! Enjoy!

Birthhippy9 · 15/03/2012 18:39

positively Gwad.

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 15/03/2012 19:14

Risen and stayed there? Ach, you're an old hat at the FAM, so you don't need to POAS do you?

It's a friends birthday and a group of us are going to watch The Best Marigold Hotel. 10 years ago we would have been out on the lash, how times have changed

JKSLtd · 15/03/2012 20:12

Arch - here's hoping you get resolution soon, I hated the 4 days I was late just recently. The uncertainty drove me crazy!

Ali - have been there, DS1 was a bolter, any open door he'd be out!

Been to Lakeside today to get my laptop sorted at the Apple store, then had Nando's with DD, girly lunch out Grin

ILike - enjoy the cinema & the Wine

Waiting for DH to bring me a glass...

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 15/03/2012 20:50

ILike - I went to see that with a friend last Friday and really enjoyed it. Some funny moments and some bittersweet. Enjoy :)

Arch I don't go to the supermarket with him that often, although recently he has been much, much better and stayed with me really nicely, not tried to run off or anything. Who knows what the issue was today. I am a firm believer in online deliveries!

JKS - when did DS1 improve, just out of interest? Grin

JKSLtd · 15/03/2012 21:15

Ali - I can't remember exactly, which isn't much help sorry! I remember going to a gym thing when he must have been 2.5/3 when they opened the side door as it was hot & he just legged it! I stopped going after a few sessions, it was too stressful.
He's brilliant now, admittedly nearly 6, but knows not to go where I can't see him, too far ahead, etc.
So there is

JKSLtd · 15/03/2012 21:17

urgh laptop went funny, there is HOPE! Grin

GsyPotatoPieEyed · 15/03/2012 21:29

Hi Arch Good to hear from you.

I'll be glad when this week is over, P has a stomach bug. She was screaming in the early hours on Wednesday. Went into her room to find her absolutely drenched in pink vomit (she'd had blueberries at lunchtime). Poor thing couldn't keep anything down. After 12 hours she was ok on water and luckily last night managed to keep down some BM. She had a bit of weetabix this morning and then spent the rest of the day on the breast. Had a couple of leaky nappies this afternoon. Tea was dry toast and banana. She's settled now (fingers crosssed) and hopefully will be more herself tomorrow.

DH has taken my DM to the cinema tonight to see The Woman in Black for her Mother's Day gift. They both love scary films whereas I am a bit of a wimp and will wait for the DVD.

DS is another Tree-Fu Tom fan. Unfortunately he refuses to get up and do the moves Hmm. He was strutting his stuff during Musical Statues at a birthday party last week though. I have never seen anything funnier than a load of 3/4 year olds "dancing". It was like a load of mini punks pogo-ing all over the place Grin

Cyclebump · 16/03/2012 08:13

Wow Arch, try not to stress until you know for sure either way, then you can take it one step at a time x

Eugh Gsy, baby vomit is soooo gross and I find BFing a sicky baby exhausting. H feeds like a newborn when he's ill.

GlaikitFizzog · 16/03/2012 12:21

Oooh Arch! Whatever the result we are here

We are baby free until Sunday! He has gone to Grandma & Granda's. They came down on Wednesday as we were going to see Mrs Browns Boys in Edinburgh. They left yesterday afternoon and we are now rattling about the house and don't know what to do with ourselves!

My debrief is on Tuesday and I haven't received my notes yet, so I'll just have to wing it I think. I know what I want answers to and what I remember happening is what DH remembers too so hopefully I'll come away feeling a bit better about it all. Another step along the road.

Poor you and p gsy

Had the scan this morning. Kitten the 2nd has grown lots in a week so that's good. Next scan 14th may!

chillikat · 16/03/2012 21:44

Oooh, exciting about scans OutMe :)

I've had a lovely week - DH has been off so I've taken the opportunity for him to have some Daddy-Daughter time and get my hair cut for the first time in months, and go for a Mothers Day back massage and facial this afternoon. It was lovely :)

We've also been to soft play yesterday and M decided that the ball pool was the funniest thing ever. It was also DH's first time in a ball pool Shock so he had lots of fun too.

Sleep hasn't been quite so lovely - she seems to be alternating bad and good nights at the moment, a good night being only 2 wake ups Hmm. On the plus side she ate a fish finger yesterday so maybe will start eating protien regularly. Hopefully this will help with sleep.
