I'm sorry to be harsh, but isn't it obvious he won't be feeling better soon? Sorry ladies, I'm going to bow out of the June threads for a while, it's no big I just can't keep explaining this. I know normal people don't get what chronic illness is like but it's just making it harder for me to have to keep saying, he won't be better. He can't be better.

teabelly · 12/02/2006 21:52

Trib - don't bow out for too long! Don't worry about being harsh, but I think people don't really know what to say and how to say it, but they just want you to know they're thinking about you and dh Take care, x

katzg · 13/02/2006 08:31

MrsWednesday · 13/02/2006 15:55

Trib, don't go. If we can't fully understand the issues you have to deal with, we can at least listen when you want to sound off about things. Thinking of you, and if you want to get out for a cuppa (squash) later in the week you know where I am.x

sfxmum · 14/02/2006 16:54

hello all

little moan about lack of sleep and not much to do with ddall 3 of us really unsettled, nasty nasty nightmares, how odd!

anyhow hope you all getting on ok, nice to hear from EYM, hello to all the lurkers.

trib - i imagine the relentless nature of it all must get to you from time to time, esp. with a young baby and all the tiredness. you dont really have to explain yourself. take care, hope to see you around soon.

i really must start dealing with the hugeness of mekeep going on about it but still cant find time to go running. that was really good for my mood and all other PCOS related issues

take care all

MrsWednesday · 14/02/2006 21:51

Moan away sfxmum, I'll join in too. DS2 is ill but decided that the middle of the night was a good time to make a miraculous recovery. Then he got overtired and started screaming - I had to take him out for a drive at 2am to settle him down.

Two teeth are finally making an appearance Perhaps this explains DS2's illness (he's been throwing up etc).

Hope you are all having a lovely romantic Valentine's Day. Mine isn't romantic, but we celebrated our wedding anniversary on the 4th and there is only room for one romantic day a month these days...

Lots of people haven't been around for so long, no wonder it's quiet on here. Welshie, Cratchit, troublesmummy, Bubbs, Skyler and everyone else, hope you are all ok.x

sfxmum · 14/02/2006 22:47

mrsW - still no teeth here!

over the last couple of weeks dd was going off nursing during night and was not much interested in nursing during the day (just short ones)apart from morning and bedtime, not so over the last couple of days, its nursing central{shock}

no valentines here, not something we ever did, does that make us miserable old gits?

Bubbaloo · 14/02/2006 22:48

I'm here MrsW-lurking but not keeping up with the thread properly.
Happy belated anniversary btw .
2am-OMG,how awful for the Wednesday household.Oscar now also has 2 teeth and was very grizzy with it.We're having an Oscar free evening tonight.Went out for a lovely indian, got thoroughly spoilt with flowers, balloons, and a cuddly toy.
Mum and dad have got him overnight and when I last phoned about an hour ago,he was screaming!
Went to a birthday party at a place called Kids Kingdom today. It was really good and we had a great time in the ball pool and on the bouncy castle!
Going back to work in just 3 weeks now and absolutely dreading getting up early again and using the tube.Dh doesn't want me to go back and I am in 2 minds, but I really enjoy my job and we could do with the extra money,so I'll have to play it by ear!
Hope everyone else is ok-Giddy's gone very quiet too.

MrsWednesday · 15/02/2006 09:14

Bubbs, hope you had a lovely child-free evening. Must be strange being in the house without Oscar! It's such a tough decision about working - I've been back since the beginning of January and I'm still in two minds about whether I'm doing the right thing or not.

Sfxmum, not miserable old gits at all, just sensible. Hope you had a better night's sleep last night.

eastyorksmum · 15/02/2006 10:54

Morning mums hugsssss

Ive just emailed giddy hope shes ok

Mrs W happy belated Annivarsary ours was yesterday
bought hubby a box of chocs and a massive valantines card lol he didnt know what to say. We celebrated with a chineese take way and some baby champ it was lovely remebering our wedding day it rained lol.

William has a tooth, yayyyyyy lol finally hes sleeping beter to, and taking more sloids during the day, which i think is helping and hes in his walker he loves it.

Im feeling better as you see, was very proud went out on my own for a few hours the other day, on our busy main rd i dont belive how bad i was geting, i wouldnt even answer my phone, still need to chase up councling too.

Sorry its abit all me. hope all our lovely june babies are well and thriving love to you all xxxxxxx

teabelly · 15/02/2006 13:52

Afternoon ladies

EYM - WELL DONE YOU glad you're feeling abit better and happy anniversary for yesterday.

Mrs W - happy belated anniversary. at 2am drive around! Hope you weren't at work the next day!

KVG - squealing and yelping - oh yes we have those too! and then between his incessant chattering ds joins in with her just for good measure - it's no wonder we've become a bottle of wine a night parents!!

SFX good luck with starting the running - I keep thinking about exercising - and that's as far as it gets - hell and I even have one of those slendertone belts and still can't motivate myself to put it on every night when collapsed on the sofa!

Bubb - you're right just play it by ear, I was dreading going back after ds and again now with dd, but tbh I quite like the 'free from kiddies' hours I have when working - how else would I ever catch up on here?

Not much change in the Tea household, dd isn't crawling as such more bum wiggling (not even shuffling!) but still she manages to get to whatever you've accidentally left reachable in record time none-the-less! Still only two teeth, but sudden constant gnawing leads me to think more are coming

Well best go - boss has just come back from lunch , will catch up later, x

MrsWednesday · 15/02/2006 20:54

Happy anniversary EYM, sounds like a lovely evening. You are doing really so well, you should be very proud of yourself. I hope your DS continues to sleep well, at the moment you definitely don't need disturbed nights. Did you get any response from Giddy? Send her my love if you do speak to her.

Tea, yes I was at work the next day, or at least half of it. Sharing childcare during the working week when one of the kids is ill is such a nightmare, especially when you work with a boss who doesn't have kids...

Off to swig some red wine before bed time (trying not to be bottle of wine a night parents here but failing happily). Sleep well all.x

sfxmum · 15/02/2006 21:44

hello ladies

happy belated anniversary to both mrsW & EYM

mine is not until late march, lets see if we manage to get away somewhere by the sea, but with dd of course.

dd being very amusing, her mobility is improving daily, god helps when she realy gets going, our place is not very childproof

told dh he must make sure i get up early and go for a run, drill sargent like, not sure if it will work, he is not sure about this idea, thinks i might injure him

i know what you mean about work, so glad i managed to stay home for a year, am trying to get employer to agree on a four day week which inludes weekends so that dh can work 3 weekdays, this would be an ideal balance for us. really hope they let me do it.

have a good night ladies

dp hand is healing lovely now he went and had stitches out monday just gone and has been signed off for another 2 weeks . they wanted to give him 6 weeks on top og the first 2 but he says he cant as he has uni too which costs a few hundred pounds if he fails . plus he really wants to do this so he will be back to work in a week and half. things have been a bit on and off with us just recent but we are getting better with every argument

2Happy · 17/02/2006 10:20

Morning Mummies, long time no 'see'.
Well the 2happy household is finally WARM! Central heating installed without a hitch. It's marvellous; except that we now have such a plentiful supply of hot water, I'm hard pressed to make it to work on time in the morning as I just can't seem to move from under the shower! Unfortunately the electrics didn't go so well. It seems the previous owner really has stuffed the entire house up. The electrician said he hadn't seen such an awful job for a long, long time. He had to pull walls down all over the place to get at the wires, so now we live in a complete bomb site. But it's a warm bomb site so I guess that's an improvement Anyway, it's safe to live in now, and that's the main thing. Now chasing builders/plasterers to try and repair the damage, then dh and I get to practice our decorating skills - the last time we tried was when I was heavily pregnant and nesting and the poor man came home from work to find me swaying up a ladder with half the dining room wallpaper torn off!
Missed too much to catch up properly, but hope all the Junies are as gorgeous as ever
ps chocca block? That is ringing some vague bells for me...

katzg · 17/02/2006 12:37

2Happy - rewiring is a knightmare, we had this done just after we moved into our current house and well 4 years later and we still have a couple of walls that still need repairing!!

Afternoon all,

Just popping in to ask if anyone has bought the next car seat yet? We're off to get one at the weekend and don't know what to get.
Any rec's please?.

Will catch up later-Hope everyone is well.

uwila · 17/02/2006 14:18

Hi Bubb (and everyone else). I bought the Britax Trio and I recommend not buying it because it's a reall pain to buckle. I actually bought 2 of them (one for each child).

teabelly · 17/02/2006 14:25

Hiya Bubb

We're using ds's old maxi cosi priori. These are absolutely fab. They recline and you can adjust it from driving seat reaching back if babe is behind passenger seat and falls asleep. Also at the time they were the first with side impact protection - not sure which others have them? And best of all there are clips on the side to hook the harness into when taking babe out of seat so that they're still out of the way when he/she goes back in, and so don't get caught up under them.

But very shortly maxi cosi are bringing out a new seat (not sure if I should say as this is from a trade mag) but anyway it has loads of updated safety features and the harness will automatically move out of the way and stay there until you put little one back in - it's due end of march, and if I ever get ever get my nursery shop up and running then I'll be getting them in!

If you need one now tho you can do alot worse than the priori/priori xp. But remember to get the seat fitted at the shop as we had to try a few before we found one that fitted our narrow seats safely. HTH
