Milward - well done. Could be the tabs though which is really good. My last results came through as ok and previous set as high so they reduced my dosage but now I am pilling the weight back on and feeling really sleepy and slugish again am wondering if it is worth asking for a referal to an endocinologist.

mummyhill · 15/01/2006 20:14

We are looking to get David christened in Oct/Nov after his god mother to be has had her baby, still struggling to think of two god fathers though.

milward · 15/01/2006 20:15

jaamy - yup - four stone gone but how I don't know. I think alot is to do with bf & also thyroid levels. I gained 10kilos in one month whilst preg with low thyroid (although didn't know at that moment as was only tested in June/july).

Still have one stone to go before I'm my pre-preg weight. I just want to avoid having to get new summer clothes as would be happy to wear what I couldn't get into last summer. I'll just let it be & see if it comes off. Have never dieted & know I wouldn't have the willpower.

mummyhill - in november my doc told me to go to 75 units. I did this & began to feel really sluggish (no weight loss at all so must be due to the throid levels!)& down - which isn't me. I knew something was wrong. I saw my doc again in december & was told to go to 87.5 units. Feel ok at this level. Will be having another test in feb for this. Hope you get your tabs sorted. I'm nervous that they'll tell me to reduce & I'll go back to how I was in november.

Well, glad to say that I am now on the mend and hubby back home to help! Phew!

Milward - so envious of your weightloss! Have to say I have been breastfeeding since DS was born and no such luck here .... Good for you though!

Simplyred · 15/01/2006 21:40

Oh dear!

Christening now cancelled! - Pil object to our choice of god father - very long story more like a story from a soap opera - oh well maybe later in the year!

LoveMyGirls · 16/01/2006 09:54

i had to read your post twice SR, you are cancelling your dd's cristening because of your PIL? if it were me i would go ahead anyway she is your daughter and its up to you and your dh who is dd's godfather - i really feel for you

Milward - well done !!!!!!!!!!!!

im shattered and full of cold today, jess decided to wake every 10mins from 3.30am to 6.30 am so i am exhausted! i think its a mixture of teething and a cold bless her. dp has been working all weekend so i've been ill with both the girls to look after but at least i can cuddle up with him and a box of tissues tonight

jaamy · 16/01/2006 12:18

SR...WHAT???? Obviously don't know the ins and outs of it all but I'm with LMG. What has your choice of GF got to do with your PIL????
Hoping to get Abigail baptised mid March before I go back to work so need to get my finger out!! I only really have one choice for GF. As we tend to keep these things in the family will have to be DB but he can be such a waste of space sometimes! eg. he didn't turn up for christmas at my DPs despite the fact that he lives with them and we suspect that he's got a drug problem...great for a pharmacist, eh? So, you can understand why we've been putting off asking him.
Could we market your medication as weight loss pills, Milward? Think my weight is slowly coming off with BF as I'm not making any effort either - eating like a horse! I don't weigh myself though, just go by which clothes I can fit into. Keep looking at my Davina DVD but don't know when I'll EVER get the time to get round to doing it!
LMG and Heybaby - hope everyone feeling better soon.
DD1 STILL has bad bum. Have sent her to nursery this am to spread it around all the other children [naughty emoticon] since that's where she got it from in the first place my conscience is clear. She's fine in herself, eating and drinking well, just nappy changing has become a bit of a trial. Seems to be dragging on a bit, though.

Simplyred · 16/01/2006 13:27

Morning!

Its a difficult situation - dh's best friend (chosen god father) and brother do not get on - we knew dh's brother would not come to the Christening - but did not expect pil to refuse to come to! Me and dh are in shock! we want to celebrate Rachels arrival with her christening not start a family feud - so we will think about it again in the summer! & I thought my family were odd!!! Tidying the house now - what fun!!!

I want to lose 4 stones!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

LoveMyGirls · 16/01/2006 14:55

SR, i would just let them sort it out and if they dont want to come then thats their loss - amazing how some people can be so immature surely they can put aside their differences for one day on the other hand would be quite nice to have a summer cristening and maybe they will have grown up enough to know that its about rachel not them i havent ever had my children cristened but i know that its a special day for those that choose to do it, my main reasons for not doing it is cost and letting my children decide if they would like to be baptised when their older instead (not that im disagreeing with anyone elses decision's).

i want to lose 3 stone!!

Cabe · 16/01/2006 15:59

Hello everyone!

I was going to post about the weather in that quintessential English way - but looking at it, it'd be such a depressing post, it just wouldn't be kind or fair!

Wow Milward - 4 stones! I seem to be getting a little heavier if anything Well done you though x

Simplyred - very diplomatic of you, it's like this in families, we have to be willing to back down to keep the flow going don't we!

Jaamy - have I missed something? Your dd's poorly botty, is it impetigo? You say it's catching and I think I read earlier that there's a weeping sore. Has she been to the doctors? Impetigo can go on for ages and ages if it's not treated with the right creams... It's another of the common ailments (like head lice) that wasn't around when I was little but has made a huge resurgence in the last 10 years or so

Hope everyone else is well x

jaamy · 16/01/2006 17:00

Aft'noon all!
No Cabe, DD1's poorly bum has been brought on by a long series of loose stools - usually she only has 1 or 2 dirty nappies a day but she is having 5 or 6 for nearly a week now. VERY uncomfortable for a toddler. Sorry if TMI. Haven't had a call from nursery to ask me to bring her home so am hoping it has cleared up a bit. She has a doctor's appt on Wed am if it hasn't.
SR - would things have cooled down between prospective GF and DH's family by the summer? Even if not, I'd be tempted to go ahead and force everyone to think about what is really most important here, ie Rachel! Would the gathering be big enough that the parties would be able to avoid one another?

milward · 16/01/2006 17:53

Feel surprised myself that the weight has come off - but I really think it's the thyroid levels that have done the trick.

I eat loads & it would be a shocking read the amount I snack. With each preg I've gained loads but it's dropped off afterwards.

Still don't fit my pre-preg trousers though!!! have some more flab to go.

OP posts:
HeyBaby · 16/01/2006 19:00

SR - You poor thing! What a weird situation to be in .... I agree with Jaamy and Lovemygirls. It's their loss (ie PIL) if you go ahead with the christening and they choose not to attend. Surely they should respect their son's wishes?! But then again no one said that the world is a perfect place .... Sounds a little churlish though? Talk about politics ....

Milward - Where can I get what you're on??!!! I know what you mean about pre-pregnancy clothes though. It's like we're in some sort of "Twilight Zone" where you can't fit into your old clothes, you're sick of your pregnancy clothes and you don't want to waste money on new clothes because you are aiming to fit into your old clothes! ARGH!

jaydeelady · 16/01/2006 22:41

hi all, home from hospital now. hi to all new postees. dd2 is now wheelchair bound!! althouogh the op was successful the recovery is long and painful but they've only just told us this. Her mobility is nil and so i am doing physio at home to encourage her muscles to be stronger. dh has had dreadful d and v bug since wednesday so did not see him until today. we had to go and stay at my mums so that the 4 kids didn't get it. been a tough time but things can only get better!!!!

Cabe · 16/01/2006 23:10

Jaydeelady - what a time of it you're having, as you say, things can only get better for you and your family. Best wishes to you x

Night night everyone

milward · 17/01/2006 11:03

jaydee - hope things get better xxx

OP posts:
jaamy · 17/01/2006 11:47

jaydeelady - so sorry things are difficult for you at the moment. As long as they think that DD2's mobility will return, that's something to look forward to. V naughty of hospital not to tell you about how long and painful it would be. Have you been able to take some time out for yourself while staying at your DM'ss for a little treat? You deserve a medal for coping with DD2, other littlies, new baby and poorly DH. - there MUST be brighter days ahead. Take care.x

Simplyred · 17/01/2006 14:23

Hello

Jaydeelady - I'm sure luck is coming your way.

Off to be weighed again this afternoon!

Simplyred · 17/01/2006 15:19

Hello!

Me again!

Is anyone else still suffering with their digestive systems since giving birth? I'm windy, a little gripey and I'm much 'loser' if you get my drift not sure if this is the season, the hormones dropping away, the c-section or the long labour prior to section! but I'm feed up!

mummyhill · 17/01/2006 21:04

Sr - mine goes from one extreme to the other regardless of what I eat or drink or how much exercise I get.

Simplyred · 17/01/2006 21:22

I'm sorry to hear that Mummyhill - but glad I'm not alone! Shall be a man in my next life!

Lost 1.5 pounds at fat fighters - little disappointed wanted to lose more! So 4.5 lbs in 2 weeks so not so bad!

Rachel went to pil's for a couple of hours late afternoon and its taken me 2 hours to settle her down to go to bed - think she was over excited and over tired!

Cabe · 17/01/2006 21:56

Ooh sympathise with the long get to sleepy Simplyred - Conrad was a Hoot to try to put down... I'd have been tearing my hair out if I wasn't able to laugh!

Bowels? never know how they're going to behave from one day to another!
Anyone else started their periods yet? this is mainly to the breastfeeders amongst us

I weighed Conrad today, he's managed to put on 7oz in a week - this makes him 11lb 9oz I'm proud of my milkyness!

milward · 17/01/2006 23:07

Hello All,

Cabe - my cycle isn't back yet - with my other kids took 18 months to arrive! But always bf on demand until they wanted to stop (encouraged dd3 to stop though as I was preg).

Had ds4 vaccination yesterday & he had a temperature in the night. He's now 16 wks & weights 7.890 kilos, 67.5cm long & 43.5 in head circumference. He's big & I'm happy to bf as well.

dd1 felt sick at school today & had to go in to collect her. Think it's an ear problem.

They put me on the pop when I asked about contraception because I was feeding david myself and I haven't had a period yet even though I am not feeding any more. Will probably swap over to the combined pill when I run out though as it is supposed to be more effective.

Have woken up this morning with a stiff neck and a pounding headache.
