My periods haven't come back yet - with DS they started again exactly a month after I stopped breastfeeding.

My bowels have a mind of their own I think . So do Alice's .

Well done Conrad on the weight gain.

Here is a picture of Alice looking sweet

She woke up twice in the night last night - poor thing was all snuffly again (not sure how many colds she's had now .)

I am filling in her passport form - must get it sent off soon.

milward · 18/01/2006 08:52

pc - what a sweetie. Your dd is gorgeous.

I'm doing a passport form as well - need so many other pieces of paper to complete it.

Mummyhill - hope you fell better soon.

My dd1 is off school today with a headache & feeling dizzy when she moves. Her ears keep going pop. Just waiting for the others to get it! Today dd3 splatted her choc cereal all over the kitchen whilst I took dd1 temp - ahhhhhh!!!!!

What beautiful eyes she has PC!

Simplyred · 18/01/2006 09:44

Ahhh Pc - Alice is lovelly xxxx

How do I load up pictures - bearing in mind I am a computer half wit!

Cabe · 18/01/2006 11:40

I've been trying to do it SR... it's got the better of me

Normal morning in the Milward household then?

Best wishes to you Mummyhill xx

PC have left a note on the piccy thread but totally agree - what beautiful eyes x

milward · 18/01/2006 12:41

PC ~ Your Alice is beautiful. She really looks like a girl too. My Alice resembles DH so more easily passes as a boy.

That hooded top she's wearing doesn't happen to be a NEXT one does it? Just looking for coincidence #4.

No periods here yet thankfully. Bowels all over the place here too.

Alice is still waking loads in the night. I wish I could co-sleep but I can't. I take her into bed to feed and wake up a little later with a stiff neck and shoulder. The last two mornings she has been awake for the day early too... but she has a strange cough so it's probably due to that. This morning she woke up with a nose bleed

I don't THINK it is anything to worry about..... is it? She seems perfectly contented and healthy in every other way.

mummyhill · 18/01/2006 17:15

Rant allert

Bloody stupid company I work for. Had an appointment this afternoon whilst dd was at nursery to discuss returning to work next month. Dragged poor DS out in the rain only to find that the personnel manager has phoned in sick and no one thought to phone me!!!!!

Head feels better, stiff neck was due to having a stroppy baby in bed with me last night!!!

PiccadillyCircus · 18/01/2006 17:34

beatie, the top is from next .

And I also get stiff back/mneck at night sometimes - also incapable of co-sleeping in a sensible way.

Simplyred · 18/01/2006 18:51

Oh no Mummyhill your company sound organized! - are you going back to work?

I've asked for a further 26 weeks off unpaid, but not so sure now - finding it difficult - need to do something as a challenge - thinking about ebay trading and working on my/dh's family tree! Also wondering how much of a financial mess I'll be in by July!

mummyhill · 18/01/2006 19:25

I am going back on 13th Feb if they get their assets into gear. Evenings and weekends. I am ebaying at the moment to supplement our income and will continue if things work out well, mayber we will be able to take a short uk break in the summer that way.

beatie · 18/01/2006 19:47

Picadilly Circus ~ I knew it. My Alice has the same top.

beatie · 18/01/2006 19:49

SR ~ My mum is researching her family tree at the moment. There's lots you can find online now. If I wasn't doing my MSc I'd be looking up my dad's family name and then DH's. I've earmarked it as something to do when I complete my MSc.

lexiemum · 18/01/2006 22:32

think i've read about a third of the posts on here now and startin to feel part of the grp.

been a v.busy week - back to work in 8wks so been hunting out childminders - down to two, just got to make a decision once dh has met them.

dd2 had 3rd jabs today - dd1 was v.concerned with the screaming and came running over to find out what was wrong - it was nice to see her being so protective.

nights are gettin shorter so think will be on to rice very soon

off to playschool with dd1 tomorrow - 3rd time, so hoping for no screaming this time.

jaamy · 18/01/2006 22:32

Hello, all!
Ooooh, don't tempt me with geneology...I spend far to much time on the internet as it is!
Mummyhill - 13th Feb sounds so near. I'm due back on 20th March and dreading it. Doesn't seem that far away. Where does the time go? At least you'll have weekdays to spend with David.
PC - Alice is gorgeous!
I'm stil sans periods but I'm stil BF so don't expect to see them for a while. Can't remember how long it was before they reappeared after I finished BF DD1.
Thought I was the only one who finds co-sleeping uncomfortable. My boobs just aren't built for horizontal feeding! I do exactly what you do, Beatie - no matter how many pillows I use to prop myself up I still end up waking up with a stiff neck.
Night night all!

Cabe · 18/01/2006 23:17

Jammy - I'm still bfing too so didn't expect my periods to start... my body must react in a different way. I was looking forward to not having to worry about contraception for a while.

Finding childcare for your precious little one? Hope it goes really well Lexiemum.
Here our nursery places are so oversubscribed I've heard the top few are taking bookings for 'hypothetical' babies for couples TTC!!! I'll be looking for a place for Conrad at the University's Nursery for September when my course gets full-on again (I'm re-sitting this year)

I'm rambling! sorry
Nighty night all x

mummyhill · 19/01/2006 08:58

13th Feb is scarily close not sure how on earth I am going to cope especailly the first time I leave them with dh to go to work. Have left them with him to go out for a meal once and left them with my mum for a few hours ocassioanly. The first sat (if i keep the hours I had before) will be the worst as it is an 8hr shift and that is the longest I will of gone without my babies since I went on matty leave.

jaydeelady · 19/01/2006 09:40

Hi guys, broadband at last. Just no time to go on the net. dd2 at school todau for the morning first time since op. all very excited but the prospect of daily physio is not good. still shes always smiling so its a lesson to us all. My periods started last month. it was awful, reeally heavy and lasted nearly 2 weeks and i'm still bfing. was looking forward to longer without but didn't expect them to get worse.
i,ve decided to do the 10,000 steps a day thing, i did it before when i was trying to take up running, got hooked on the running eventually but have no time for that at the moment. it's amazing how many steps a day you do just around the house. if you go for a brisk walk it should take about 1 hour and 20 mins. got to have an aim. still trying to sort out childcare for when i return to work

PiccadillyCircus · 19/01/2006 12:08

I'm thinking about researching our fmily tree - have got some books out from the library and will give it a go some time.

What's your MSc in beatie (just being nosy ).

I am going back to work at beginning of July - and will be able to work from home for some of it which will be good. I'm currently thinking about childcare as although I am mainly happy with DS's nursery, I'd like to have a look at some childminders as well. Also, the nursery is where we used to live (5 miles away) and it seems a bit silly dirving back and forth to get there.

Have got details of some childminders in this village - they sound like they do rather more fun things than DS gets to do here . Also thinking about him going to the pre-school here as well...decisions, decisions, decisions.

Sorry for all those with periods starting again - I am hoping mine don't for a while.

Had an amusing moment yesterday while ALice and I were having lunch with a colleague of mine. He had gone to the bar to get some more drinks for us and I latched Alice on while he was there. When he came back, he said "I thought you were feeding her but you're just cuddling her aren't you?"

I said she was having her lunch and he remarked at how discrete it was . He does have two children but not sure how they were fed.

Who was it who had a friend who also had a baby around September and thought they were pregnant again? Are they? I know my mum used to teach two girls who were in the same class but not twins (one was September birthday and one was August the next year)

beatie · 19/01/2006 12:41

PC ~ Library and Information Studies. My previous job was vaguely information related and I started the MSc wanting to be an Information Officer. Now, with children, I quite fancy a part time school librarian job. I probably won't go back into the work force until Alice is in Pre-school - by when I have to have completed the MSc.

What's your field of work? Will you be going back full-time? (That question's for anyone BTW)

jaamy · 19/01/2006 12:47

Oh Mummyhill - I know how you feel about leaving littlies while at work. I'm not looking forward to it. I try to think of it as being good for them as they get some independence from me at nursery, making their own little friends and get some "quality time" (whatever that is) with DH/DM. Gives me something to look forward to when I get home, too! Have I managed to talk myself out of the guilt I feel yet??? I'll be doing 3x8hour days. Just can't afford to take any more time off work. Much as I'd love to spend more time with DDs I'm too chicken to see if we could manage without my income, Simplyred.
Good luck with the hunt for childcare lexiemum. Does the university guarentee you a plce at their nursery, Cabe?

jaamy · 19/01/2006 12:56

Beatie - I work in Marketing. School librarian sounds great. Would you get the school hols? My big worry is when DDs are at school and I'm working - how will I manage to pick them up at 3o'clock everyday and get childcare for their hols? Though I'm not the first and won't be the last to have this problem.

jaamy · 19/01/2006 12:57

Gosh, is anyone else finding this site VERY slow the last couple of days?

LoveMyGirls · 19/01/2006 13:55

im going to do childminding so glad i dont have to go back to "work" as such, i have written my resignation letter but im not due back until the 6th march so ill send it off at the beg of feb. Im really excited about it all now ! really feel for those of you that dont get the choice though x

LoveMyGirls · 19/01/2006 13:57

jaamy - a childminder would suit you for the picking up from school and doing hols and odd days wish id thought of it when i was working i just assumed childminders only looked after under 5's.
