Hello!

Oh spillages Beatie I take it you've got a changestation in the bedroom
I don't know if Ecover or similar do a pre-wash I'll have a look, just not right now as the little man's having a bit of a wobbly...

Cabe · 23/01/2006 14:10

Thanks for all your lovely comments about Conrad - of course he's the apple of my eye

milward · 23/01/2006 14:12

Hope you're feeling better soon pc. I had a stye & it went down gradually & has almost gone - but doesn't annoy me anymore.

Here ds4 had a high temp on friday night. Had to call the doc. Luckily it went down. Was really worried. Don't know what caused it.

Also our electricity was off for most of sunday!! dds happy to play living in the olden times!!

Ecover do an in-wash bleach but no pre-wash as such... you can get it on-line. I'll keep looking. Just popping to bank first

Milward - No electricity? did it get cold there? must have been a bit of an insight as to what things used to be like.

PC - pinapple has the opposite affect usually - natural enzymes that help the digestive system. Maybe you're sensitive to it?

Conrad's rolling around very easily now and taking his weight on his legs if you hold him.
He doesn't show much interest in sitting but I think his tummy muscles are getting stronger as he's starting to lift his legs to his hands.
No sign of any teeth though lots of chewing.
He even surprised me on Saturday by wriggling backwards off my tummy (I was lying in bed) and then continued across the bed until he reached the wall!

What are your babies doing now?

PiccadillyCircus · 23/01/2006 14:28

Right now, Alice is asleep (she is spending today feeding and sleeping )

Not rolling over yet - can't remember when Benjamin did but I think it was around now.

She moves around on her changing mat (on the floor) going backwards. Looks quite strange.

And she is trying to blow raspberries after watching DS and DH having a raspberry blowing contest

Cabe · 23/01/2006 14:36

about the raspberrys... love it that she was copying your dh and ds!

PiccadillyCircus · 23/01/2006 14:37

She hasn't quite mastered it yet though .

She and I will have to have some intensive training I think

Simplyred · 23/01/2006 17:38

Rachel does not roll yet - she's getting close! she can move round in a semi-circle on the floor!

She is enjoying a good book at the moment! well eating her soft book!

milward · 23/01/2006 20:01

cabe - didn't get too cold as dh made a fire. Having lots of candles glowing was lovely & sort of mesmerized dd3. We went out for dinner & it was strange to re-enter civilisation & then go back to the good old days!! Luckily we had torches so the kids could go to bed with one next to them in case they had to get up.

Here ds4 who's 17 weeks today!! can roll from front to back when he's on his front & can so push himself backwards & around with his feet when on his back iyswim!!

simplyred - my ds likes a good chew as well on a cloth book!

pc - the raspberry contest sounds fun!

Hi all, not posted since Christmas. Glad to read you and the little ones are getting on fine. Joel will be 19 weeks tomorrow, I can't believe that 19 weeks ago tonight I was in the maternity hospital cacking myself! He is getting on well, he weighs 16lb 12oz! He has huge chubby cheeks and we think he might be teething as constantly drooling, sticking fingers in mouth and cheeks are very red. He tries to roll over but doesnt get very far. He wriggles his bum and legs to move around his mat. Glad to hear aswell that I'm not the only one losing my hair! The amount that comes out is scary, I don't think the plug hole in the bath can cope with much more. Lovely photo's of the wee'ins.

mummyhill · 23/01/2006 21:13

Cabe - conrad is looking great.

My hair is falling out in handfulls too.

David is only too happy to jut lie there and kick no signs of rolling or moving round much maybe he is just too tubby (should I put him on a diet?).

Cabe · 23/01/2006 23:22

Milward it sounds rather lovely How nice a real fire - I've not attempted one here this year, the thought of clearing the grate afterwards... If we get a cold snap over my birthday I might though as it's so romantic

Mummyhill - David as I'm sure you already know wouldn't allow you to put him on a diet!!

Hi YCH

My hair has so far behaved itself... it's inclined to be on the thin and pathetic (silky) as my hairdresser once described it! (ephemism if ever I heard one) So I'm very glad it's not falling out I'd be bald!

Lovely to know how the little ones are coming along

Nighty night x

mummyhill · 24/01/2006 09:18

Bless his little tubbiness at least I won't panic if he does get ill and loose a bit of weight as I can't see that It would do him any harm. He is going for his 3rd set of imms tomorrow will get him weighed whilst I am there and let you all know how he is getting on.

DD is getting all excited about her birthday on the 6th as we have promised her a party at the wacky.

Cabe · 24/01/2006 10:03

Morning!

Birthdays at that age are Soooo exciting Mummyhill - especially if you've got a fab party to look forward to too!

Milward - have you got your breastpump and started to express yet? I've started to express every night now Conrad's feeding more frequently and in the night too - So much more milk again I use a hand pump, the Avent one, it's very effective and as I leave it until a relaxy time
just after Noop goes to bed I find there's no worry that it needs both hands.

Beatie - Still yet to find an eco-friendly pre-wash!

Hope poorlynesses and eye infections are better today x

LadyLazarus · 24/01/2006 10:29

Morning all... have tried to add a pic to my 'member profile' but unsuccessful (as they are too big), so am giving a link to DD's webpage (!): www.elise.hajdini.net

There are quite a few pics on there, don't feel you have to look at all of them!! The ones towards the bottom are my favourites!

Elise is getting more used to her baby rice yesterday, and she actually ATE some instead of just letting it fall out of her mouth hehe. She can roll on to her side, but not all the way on to her front just yet. But as SR said, she can do a semi-circle on the floor!

Anyone got any handy hints for a stress-free move with a small baby? we should be moving next week some time and I can;t say I'm looking forward to it! Will be lovely to be in and all sorted out, but the actual moving day not good...

Simplyred · 24/01/2006 11:13

Ahh Lady L - Elise is lovely - glad she likes her rice more! Its much easier moving with a baby that cant move to much - than a baby/toddler that can! - but it is still stressful - do you know any one that could look after Elise for the day?

Cabe · 24/01/2006 13:16

Lady L - What a lovely library of pictures to have on the net, I'll have to show DP as we both have family abroad all clamouring for the latest pictures of Conrad... She's Lovely LL, it looks like she's well on her way to sitting up (the bath shots).

Oh can only sympathise on the moving really - only common sense advice... packing baby things last so they're the first to come out, Label Label Label EVERY box! and keep sling or buggy to hand for short walk when You and She just need to get a breather... All the best with the move though

Do you know anyone who does Reiki? I got my BIL to 'bless' my house before Conrad's arrival, it calm's the energies of the place after a move or momentous occasion. This may sound like total twaddle to you or you may feel really akin to the ideas, it's only a suggestion and I've never had a problem with Conrad's sleeping

Simplyred · 24/01/2006 14:06

I like the idea of blessing and calming energies in a home. I've always felt calm in this house - can't say the same about our last home though - but no idea why! We moved when ds was 3 months old! - so great empathy! He was very good and found the experience great fun - and spent the day smiling and grinning!

Sallie · 24/01/2006 15:52

Hello everyone. I haven't posted for a long, long time. Have had rather a lot to deal with at home. Found out that dh has been having an affair with a colleague at work which started just after dd2 was born . Have stayed and tried to work things out as we have 3 kids but suspect I am not being told the full truth. Anyway, my little Sept 05 bundle is doing really well - she has been slower to put on weight than my others and a pain at night - she still wakes up at completely random times. But she is generally very happy and contented so can't complain. Having three under three is pretty hard work and am exhausted. Will start thinking about weaning once we have a kitchen and reading your posts reminded me that I must sort out a baptism! So much to do, so little time......hugs to you all

Cabe · 24/01/2006 16:24

Hello Sallie... So sorry to hear of your problems with dh - we're here if you need to rant anonymously and it's a lovely place to share trials and all the joys of having a little one! {{{Hugs}}} to you xx

LadyLazarus · 24/01/2006 16:36

hugs to you Sallie...all these horrible things seem to happen at the most stressful of times to start with... you have my full sympathy xxx

ych · 24/01/2006 16:55

LadyL - what a lovely wee girl.
Sallie - sorry to hear your news, hope everything works out, hugs to you.

mummyhill · 24/01/2006 17:32

LadyL elsie is doing really well.

Sallie - (hugs) sorry to hear you are having such a bad time. Agree with cabe come and vent the frustration here we promise to listen sympathetically and offer virtual cups of tea.

Simplyred · 24/01/2006 18:12

Sallie - I'm really sorry to hear about your husband. I've come over all angry - total sympathy - and yes feel free to rant and off load here xxxxxxx

pooka · 24/01/2006 18:49

Sallie - I know you were feeling a bit down about lack of support after dd2 was born anyway... but this is just TERRIBLE. I am very angry for you. Do feel free to rant away if you want (oh and I would). It's the pits
Like the idea of a virtual cuppa. How about a virtual bar of chocolate too? Or a lovely vodka and tonic.
