Hi All, I thought I'd start a new 2006 thread for the October 2004 Mummies and Babies.

OP posts:

What's wrong with him, you are glowing.
That's so funny with the sprout and spagetti - I think she was trying to get a balanced meal.
I notice Grace has become DD1 Hotmama?!?

OH hotmanna - good luck...maybe you are in labour as we speak!!!!!!!!

Grace moved up a room in nursery - mind you she loves it as she is back with her pal Katie! Isabelle was never as social at this age!

Ribee - think I would have done more than bite my tongue!

Kath - hope you are feeling more awake. Do you still need the fags [whispers - give up!!!!!]

Masiemog - how is the biting?

KathH · 30/01/2006 19:56

Yes - fraid still need the fags! After a brill week whilst he was on medised (I did check with gp) I thought he might have decided that sleeping thru the nite was the way to go but no, he woke up at 2.15 this morning and didnt go back to sleep properly. Its a good job I go to work as its the only time I feel like a proper person (well an accountant anyway). I think part of the problem is that he's still in our room as ds1's room isnt big enough for the cot and we keep waking each other up. The only time he slept thru properly was when we were on holiday and he was in a different room. Finally got the money thru from my Grans estate so we are thinking of having an extra room downstairs and one upstairs. Is everyone else sleeping thru - honest answers please!

KathH · 30/01/2006 19:57

By the way, does anyone know what happened to Rickman?

biglips · 30/01/2006 20:06

hiya kath - yes rickman is around but doesnt seems to post on here anymore. no wonder he keeps on waking up as my baba is a good sleeper but sometimes if i do last check on her before bed, she wakes up and start crying.... otherwise she sleeps thru.

KathH · 30/01/2006 20:10

Who else is missing? Bellie, Florence ?

biglips · 30/01/2006 20:11

please take a look at this and listen to it carefully WARNING ADULTS ONLY>>>> NO CHILDREN ALLOWED!!

biglips · 30/01/2006 20:12

i havent heard them either!!

maisiemog · 30/01/2006 20:31

Cazzy Alfie went through a rough phase, and I mean rough on me, but he seems to be a bit better now. I'm sure it's linked to teething. He actually seems to be feeding more now than he was a few weeks ago - but he's also being clingy, so maybe it's a developmental thing.
He's very social as well and I can put him into practically any social situation and he will thrive. I was wondering if the next baby would be like that, if they always differ....
It must be funny if you are used to one way of doing things and then along comes baby 2 and it's all change.
Hotmama are you still there????

OP posts:
biglips · 30/01/2006 21:02

please take a look, turn volume up and ;isten to it very carefully

be warned that its adults only...no kids allowed!!!!!!

KathH · 30/01/2006 21:29

Biglips - will listen later, cant get rid of dd1 at the mo!

biglips · 30/01/2006 21:34

hiya kath- cant get it on now!!!!

how is your little one?

hotmama · 31/01/2006 09:16

Still here curry just gave me really strong BHs all night and dd2 was very wiggly all evening - but nothing to report.

I thought I would get into the mindset of calling Grace dd1 - hopefully that is what she is going to be soon.

I seem to remember that Rickman started a link last week (think it was in chat) re being so angry she could scream (or something like it) her ex-dh/dp has had a reassessment by the CSA and somehow he has swung it that he has reduced his contribution to something like £40 a week - for 4 kids - obviously she is at her wits end. Seems he is a lying b*stard as he is self-employed and just had a new kitchen etc - big fat liar.

So if she is lurking - big hugs honey xx and hope exdp/dh rots in hell!

jbadgirl · 31/01/2006 19:10

Hello, havent posted for ages, been pretty busy, finally moved into our 3 bed house!!!!
Ds was in hospital a couple of weeks ago, he had pneumonia. He is much better now even though we had our peadiatrician appointment yesterday. That was very depressing. The doc said that he is very prone to chest infections (which we already knew) and that is probably "how he will go". Rather shocked that someone would say that about my 15 month old son, but i can see her reasons behind telling us. We know ds is severley behind with all aspects of his development but she had to just remind us a little. I know what ds should be doing, i mean i work in a day nursery FGS.

Anyway, Hotmama you popped yet???
Cazzy how are your wedding plans going?

Ds still has no teeth, im sure he has some nearly on their way as he is very dribbly!! He has been doing really well with his sleeping now we are in our own home, so pleased while it lasts!!!

maisiemog · 31/01/2006 23:00

Hi Jbad. Nice bedside manner your doctor has
Talk about miserable. It's great Toby is fighting off those infections though, I know he's not been well, but all babies are ill they have immature immune systems so it's inevitable. I hope that you don't feel upset by that comment - she probably wasn't thinking at all.
What's he been up to?
I'm glad you are settling in in your new house. Have you got the sensory room set up?
Hotmama - is dd2 (eva, clementine, dolores?)wriggling around?
Reibee is your internet up and running again?

hotmama · 01/02/2006 08:52

Still bloody here! Got an overdue appointment today - hopefully having a sweep will get things moving - or at least I will get an induction date. Oh well, just assume I am in for the long haul.

Dd1 is eventually getting her top two teeth - so we wont' be able to call her "Mrs 2 teeth" anymore.

biglips · 01/02/2006 08:54

hotmama - grrrrrr!! GET OUT!!!!!!!

more curry maybe??

biglips · 01/02/2006 16:14

im so knackered now as ive had the "liverpool Thread" girls around at mine today for a "coffee morning"... my living room is a tip and i need to get my carpet cleaner on it asap before DP comes home but i feel zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

awwww i was holding a 7 weeks old baby girl today - aaaaaaaaaaawwwwwwwwww and as soon she did a little cry my baba flew over to me as she didnt realised i had baby girl on my knee and baba was gently patting the babys back cos i was doing it too to bring up her wind and was kissing the babys hands - aaawwwww so sweet!!!! but baba did try and put her finger in the babys mouth though!!!!

biglips · 01/02/2006 16:15

oh baba was kissing babys hand - (Altogether now) AAAAAAAAAWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!

cazzybabs · 02/02/2006 10:00

JBad girl - were you upset by your doctor comments or do you prefer to know?

Does Jay go to your nursery - does he enjoy it?

I am at home today as Grace has this sickness bug going round and was sick in her older sister's bed and hair - he he he - least it wasn't mine! Think Isabelle was more put out at having to have her hair washed!

maisiemog · 02/02/2006 14:33

Eww! Poor old Isabelle! Mind you I remember when I was little loving stuff like that. At parties everyone used to go around saying things like 'Matthew's been sick' as if it was fascinating news.
Alf was up with his teeth last night 8pm, 9pm, 10pm, 4:40am then up at 8am for brek. Then crying on and off until 11am when he went back to bed. I'm at work now, but I left him and dp (who has a cold thingy) in bed asleep. My two babies.
Hotmama!!! I'm thinking the sweep worked? Is that where they make you sweep the hospital until you have the baby?

OP posts:
maisiemog · 02/02/2006 17:27

Hotmama, did you finish your birth plan incidentally?

OP posts:
jbadgirl · 02/02/2006 21:41

Cazzy - I think i would prefer to know in a way but its hard. If the doc had put it another way then i may have taken it better.

Yes toby does come to the nursery and it does him the world of good, all the stimulation given his needs. Plus i know all the staff, and can keep an eye on him, it is such a bonus cos im on hand if they need me but dont bug me too much during the day about him.

There is no way i could have stayed at home with him. If things were different then i would have loved to but things were awful and even though i thought i was coping ok, i couldnt have coped for much longer. I have so much support from my colleagues too and they all adore him!!!

maisiemog · 02/02/2006 22:42

Jbad, I'm glad your colleagues are so helpful.
I agree the doctor could have said things slightly differently. People really listen to doctors so they have to be careful about what they imply with those kinds of statements.
Have they said much about the future, treatments, therapy?

OP posts:
jbadgirl · 03/02/2006 19:04

We have no diagnosis for him yet but he does go to physio on mondays and hydro on fridays. no long term prognosis or idea on how ds will develop in the future, just take each day at a time.
