Hi All, I thought I'd start a new 2006 thread for the October 2004 Mummies and Babies.

hotmama big congratulations - that is super - are you dead excitited? When will the big day be? 25 years WOW - that is a long time. Why now? (sorry to be rude - just nosey!)

Am a bit depressed - AF was 4 days late raising my hopes! Still I guess can't expect to concieve the 1st month of proper trying! But I was so sure...hey ho always next month!

Maiseymog - last night any better?

maisiemog · 25/04/2006 21:31

So you ARE proper trying Cazzy???!!
Are you doing any 'trying for a boy' stuff?
Hi Hotmama, well done you and lucky old dd2 getting all that lovely milk. Smile
I have no idea what Alfie weighs, I'd guess about 24lbs? But I'm rubbish at that kind of thing. I never can be bothered with going to the HV, especially as you usually have to wait - Alfie's favourite pastime Shock.
He's quite slim, but muscley IYKWIM.
He's just getting another three teeth so has gone off his food a bit, blows raspberries at me.
I think go for it with the Fimbles, have you looked at the duration? I bet it's about an hour tops. I wouldn't worry about Grace getting bored, it will be mayhem with kids running all over the place.
I once popped into a theatre near me for coffee as a show called 'The Singing Kettle' (like Balamory?) came out and about a million tiny kids came running out going 'AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRR'.
You could probably get away with Evie in a sling. Grin Are you going with anyone else?
It's a shame we all live in different places, I would love to take Alfie to the Fimbles, it would be a hoot. Grin
JBad - I'm glad to hear Toby's getting bigger. Have you got the leg support things sorted? Give him hugs from me and Alf. Smile

I am going to Fimbles too in Casmbridge - dunna know how close you all are for that! Mind you am taking dd1 - not sure if she will like though!

And yes am trying for nu 3. (although will aviod baby born between May and Sept for school reasons!). And no not doing anything special to get a boy - tool us long enough to get dd2 so don't want to risk never having any more! Mind you according to me book seems easier to get a boy as you concieve them on your most fertile day and have found this really good website that suggests when you most fertile day is and gives you a 10 day window when to have lots of :).

Lucky old dh!

maisiemog · 25/04/2006 22:51

Yeah, no more headaches. LOL!
What website is it?
I might need it later...
Not right now though.
What's this school theory thing then about May to Sept?
I thought Spring would be a great time to have a baby. [confused face]

and fingers cross for you Cazzy - i want another one Sad!!!

We are off to Camelot on sunday.. Tweenie had not been to a theme park before so will be fun!

mum2sam · 26/04/2006 18:52

Congrats hotmamma Smile Im glad im not only one maisie that hasn't took the lo to be weighed although i really should as ds was prem.I feel i would get the evil mother act as i havent been in nearly a year that really is bad isnt it? Im feeling broody again and would like to try for a spring or summer baby but ds is so demanding i dont know if id be able to cope. When are you going go potty train i was thinking of having a go in the summer.

maisiemog · 26/04/2006 21:24

Don't worry if you haven't been to a weigh in. As long as your DS is healthy that's the main thing. Mine was three weeks early and has never carried much excess weight, but he's hardly ever ill.
I think once they're past the first year the whole weight thing is a bit irrelevant, the whole developmental thing sort of takes over. Shock
Alfie has finally started to say proper (well recognisable) words. He seems to have slowed down at last and is actually showing an interest in what things are called. He calls the clock 'KOK' Hmmmm!
How are the babies getting on with self-feeding?
We decided to do a bit of potty training when he was 14 months so he now knows what the potty is for and does use it when he isn't running around the house. So we'll see how he goes.....

Thats good maisie, i mite see what he thinks of it when hes out playing in the garden.

Yeah sam is still quite small compared to other children although he is def getting bigger and putting on weight i dont need scales to tell me that! His appettites alot better now and hes doing everything he should be so no worries there.I think he says about 10ish words now CAR or CAAAARRRR being his favourite absolutely obsessed with them. Milk is mil, Clock is also kok and mum is Ma Ma MAMMAAAA! if i dont reply quick enough lol

KathH · 27/04/2006 20:38

moley can say quite a few words now, the little bot next door who's about 5 said tonight "oh, he's a bit like a human now"

KathH · 27/04/2006 20:38

whoops - should be little boy - I've never looked at his bot!

hotmama · 28/04/2006 15:47

Dd1 can now say a string of words - however it was "Big Cook Little Cook" - does this make me a bad mother? Blush

Re wedding - always intended to just never got around to it - something else to plan - having babies got in the way! Wink However, I am 40 next year so will have to planned around this. Smile

Hope everyone and the lo's are O.K. Smile

geogteach · 28/04/2006 19:26

Don't worry hotmama DS2 has been saying 'dipsy, lala, po, uhoh' for a while now and has added 'fifi forgetme not'! at the moment he wants to do everything his siblings do - today he has been on a full sized trampoline and his biggest wish is to be able to push the cafertiere down! And no he still doesn't walk, I know I said he did but that was a one off

maisiemog · 29/04/2006 23:27

Just got back from a wedding, it was lovely. Very good, funny speeches and romantic speech from choked-up bride, which was very touching. Alfie fell over and got a scratch on his head, he walked over and I thought the bridesmaids had been kissing him and got lipstick on him, but it turned out to be dried blood. Shock
He was very stoic though and just looked dazed. He went home with granny and she phoned after the meal and said he was looking for me and still hadn't gone to sleep at 9:15, so I got home around 10 and he was still up, but looking very tired. She said he had got my coat out of the cupboard and dragged it to the front door. Aaaah!
He's soooo lovely, even though he only says 'duck' at the moment (guk, tuk) and ste'. Smile
Oh and that's nice that Moley's human Kath, I did wonder if he might be a little bot. Grin
Sorry, I forgot to congratulate you Hotmama, and say that it's also your centenary year with your partner.

cazzybabs · 29/04/2006 23:39

Maisey gald you had a nice time! We are off the zoo tomorrow...but, I have this fear that evyerhting I organise always goes wrong (amazed my wedding was OK!) so am panicking about it...primaly about parking because normally we get the train but we can't as no trains running from Cambridge to London (bloody typical!)

And to top if off today have had terribel headache so have stayed in bed eating chocolate (which has not helped!)

KathH · 01/05/2006 21:51

Evening all.

Well, moley has gone back to not sleeping - ever. Humour me & say he'll be sleeping thru when he's 5.

Congrats Hotmama - when me & dh got married the Registrar asked how long we'd lived at our address we both said 7 years and she looked at us and said "hm, rushed into this have you?!" On the other hand all our family & friends were so surprised that we got hitched, we decided to get married in the August and got married the first weekend in September, that they all burst into tears.

Moley still hasnt had his mmr - is it too late do you think? Has everyone else been "done" now?

Builders coming tomorrow to start on the mammoth extension, dont know why but we never do anything by halves, am dreading it. Its supposed to take 8 weeks, why didnt we just decide to buy a bigger house!

biglips · 01/05/2006 21:53

kathh- moley need to get his MMR done now as latest is up to 18 mths old... my DD had hers when she was 15 mths old.

we all had a lovely day yesterday at Camelot Themepark.... was so worn out!!!

KathH · 01/05/2006 22:00

Biglips - do you think he'll not be able to have it then - he's 19 mths today?

biglips · 01/05/2006 22:04

best ring your HV? as i forgot your little one is exact same age as mine

biglips · 01/05/2006 22:05

ill start a thread and see what others say Smile

biglips · 01/05/2006 22:05

its on the health post

KathH · 01/05/2006 22:10

cheers biglips - you're a star

biglips · 01/05/2006 22:11

its on now Smile

maisiemog · 01/05/2006 23:33

Kath, Alfie hasn't had his either and he was officially 18 months yesterday, but he is still really only 17 months because he was early. So Moley is still only 18 months because of being early you see. Grin
How did the zoo go Cazzy, are you still in the carpark? Grin

biglips · 02/05/2006 09:29

youre better staying where you are as its too much stress to be lookin for a new house

it was so funny at the camelot as DD was chasing round after this duck for 5 mins trying to stroke it!... as she had never seen a duck so close Grin... i filmed her too on my camcorder.

i thought myself "oh ill go on all the rides with the 18 yrs girl that was with us - friends DD. After 2 mental severe mad rides...i had enough! Shock Blush
