Goodness woods sounds full on your end, hope J goes down well for you tonight and the concert goes well.
tsc thanks for the offer, we are sorted now though. We went to a lovely baby shop by the coast and, i think, got some really good deals. We spent a fortune on the CC but the icandy money and my parents cot money will pay probably all of it off. It was a car park face off between the city mini and the 360 nipper(was that yours chu?) I wanted the city mini soooo bad but could see the advantages of nipper even though i dont like the look of it as much, it handled better AND was almost £100 cheaper, so we went for it, and a cot they had on offer and a reduced bouncer.....and some sheets........and a little rucksack bag with strap thingy for D...........................and some octanaughts for D, and £80 at the supermarket!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Shitttttttttt! and lunch out, hahaha! great day in my opinion!!!
mylife how is ds1, hope theres no vom tonight. Have u heard from any of the jobs yet?
cake ur buggy would have been a good deal im sure, i just really really hope i dont regret my decision, i think i already do a tiny bit but its done now..........
COME ON BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!IM DYING TO MEET YOU!!!! and have my xmas dinner at home, and not have to farm D out to somewhere hes not really wanted on christmas day

DesperateHousewife21 · 20/12/2011 19:09

vik sending labour inducing vibes your way!

Getting incredibly childish excited about Xmas!!

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 20/12/2011 19:44

First of all vik, if any of my friends were due around Christmas I would be delighted to help them out by having their child for them if they were in labour. And I'm really not just saying that - Christmas is lovely and all that, but seriously, it's just another bloody day so please stop worrying that he 'won't be wanted'. I'm absolutely sure he will be wanted Xmas Smile

I have had a very poorly ds1 today :( His temperature was up to 39.5 and has only dipped to 37 briefly, the rest of the time it's stuck above 38 :( My GP wants me to take him in tomorrow if he's no better. So I don't know what time I'll get him to bed...and I don't know how long he'll stay there

Vik sounds like a fab day. Do you feel like you're all sorted nw? Hopefully baby will sense you're all ready and will appear soon Xmas Smile

Hope your concert goes well woodlands!

viksam · 20/12/2011 20:59

Thanks dh and mylife i really wish we were all closer to each other sometimes! I will feel sorted after tomorrow, we just dumped all the stuff in the garage today so we will cart it all upstairs tomorrow. Unfortunatly the cot doesnt have any fixtures with it yet, they are sending them through the post, hence it being reduced, so we cant build it but wont need it yet any how, i just wanted it up so i could put my changing table thing over it to see if it fitted. How long did people have their babies in their rooms for when they were new born?

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 20/12/2011 21:48

ds1 - 7 weeks to the day
ds2 - 5 months, but that's only because I didn't really have anywhere else for him to go - then he went in the spare room which I eventually made his bedroom Xmas Grin

DesperateHousewife21 · 21/12/2011 07:36

D was in my room til 15 months Xmas Grin occasionally still is!

I'm going to aim for 6 months max next time.

He was up earlier today, half 6ish I think so an early nap today. He would do that on the day I've got plans in the morning wouldn't he!

viksam · 21/12/2011 07:45

Oh man, another shitty night here, how the hell am i going to cope when the baby comes!! He woke at 3.15 and chatted and screamed, not as in cried just as in 'ohhhh i can make a new really LOUD noise' scream, i went in twice to settle him and granted he has a bit of a cough and a stuffy nose but not that bad. He had calpol the second time i went in and some vapour rub but continued to be unsettled till about 4.45-5ish, there for im knackered, thank god hes off to the cm today! bad i know but i dont care atm!!

Chulita · 21/12/2011 08:15

viks yep, we've got the Nipper and I love it. I agree that the City Mini looks better and has quite a few better features but when push comes to shove (heh heh) the Nipper feels better imo.
I second what mlic said, regardless of it being Christmas day, I'd be really excited to look after a friend's child knowing that they were off having their baby, it wouldn't cause any dramas whatsoever.

Night 3 was good with them both in the same room, still chatted/played til half 8 but then both slept through til 6ish and then L entertained S til 6.50 when her clock goes green and she's allowed to come and find us.

Won't be on much cos SIL and her boyfriend are here so will catch up once they're gone!

WhatSheSaid · 21/12/2011 08:38

I can't really remember how long they were in our room...I think A was about 7 wks and G was longer, about 4 months (because she had reflux and woke much more). When they left our room they were still v close though - in a room that leads on from ours, with a glass door between the rooms, they were literally about 7 steps from our bed!

Actually I think they both slept better when they went into their own proper rooms.

Today we had playgroup meet up at the park (where the Fb photo was taken), then did stuff at home this pm, wrapped presents this evening but have now run out of sellotape so will have to do the rest tomorrow.

Woodlands · 21/12/2011 08:46

The concert went well thanks! Went to the pub after and drank a bit too much - have a sore head now and am meant to be working (DH is taking J to do christmas shopping, more fool him!).

Vik I agree, it would be really exciting to have a friend's child when the friend was in labour, ESPECIALLY if it was Christmas - I would try to make it really special for them. ANd at least this year he's too little to really understand about Christmas and missing out on being at home. SOd's law the baby will keep you waiting for weeks now! I met a friend at the concert last night who is due on 1 January and she's HUGE...

J slept in our room till 10 months.

memphis83 · 21/12/2011 08:57

viksam what a productive day! L was in hour room til 4 months, I wanted him out sooner but dh was being a bit PFB! I am having 0 for dinner, and dh's family for a buffet tea and will get no help with any prep and I still would love to help a friend if they needed a sitter, as mlic said, its only another day! plus an extra person in the house would just make for a fuller happier home! where you overdue with D?
mlic how is E today?
dh would you bf the second baby?
Iwent christmas shopping last night but the few shops I wanted didnt open later, all I need though is a basic frame for a signed poster I got for dh and some disposable table cloths as we are putting two table together a fabric one would be no good but struggling to find any now!
We went to toys r us and I caved, my grandad really wanted to get L a present so we have got him the cozy coupe cab, L loves them but I kept saying no, but dh made a point that it can be hidden under the stairs or in the garage!
A tad pissed off today, arranged a night out for a meal with friend I havent seen in ages due to her family being here from Kenya, I had to cancel as dh was away tonight and as ive got mums car she couldnt have L so I cancelled the table and then at 10 last night dh said that he was travelling back! grr been looking forward to it for weeks!

viksam · 21/12/2011 09:18

Thanks guys for the words of encouragement, i would also be happy to look after a friends child if the shoe was on the other foot, i guess its just me who doesnt want him to go anywhere else. Im gona pop into town in a min, dh is still in bed, i hope he catches up on some sleep, althought they always say they wake when we get up to lo's they are soon back to sleep, unless he fake snores for some reason!! At one point i had D whining and waking and coughing, dh snoring in my ear and #2 kicking the crap out of me, i had to laugh.
woods ur probably right, 14 days O/D would be 7th Jan, bet i have to be induced. I was a week O/D with D.
memphis i dont get shops in town that dont stay open later, retail is struggling so much, how annoying. Annoying too about ur meal, can u rebook?
chu Hows ur SPD? yep, i agree about the buggys, the city mini is much nicer but the 360 is easier to handle, and because im a short arse i think it will be easier for me.
Going to get all my purchaces out later and have a good look and build up the bouncer and clean the maxi cosi etc.
mylife hows DS1 what was your night like, or would you rather just forget and get on with ur day?
Whats everyone doing today? Its fowl weather, thats why im gona get out now before weather/traffic and loosing the will to live through tiredness gets to me!!

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 21/12/2011 09:26

He's a little better thanks girls

Well ds2 was screaming in anger at 3am. I went in twice to try to stop him waking ds1 as I suspected he'd start throwing up the minute he was woken, but it was no good, he had woken him by about 3.20am. He had a wee, was retching and heaving but the poor lad hasn't eaten in days so had nothing in his little tummy to be sick. Got him settled back off and ds2 was still on one and I, very angrily, ended up getting up with him. Back to sleep around 5am and he was up having a hissy fit again at 7am So that was night 4 in a row of that shit. Oh, and I got up to find the dog had pissed in the back room overnight

He is still refusing food but asking for lots of milk so I'm seeing that as a good sign. He's hot, but not burning.

Bombay potatoes for breakfast anyone? Xmas Grin Oh yes, the ultimate comfort food imo

DesperateHousewife21 · 21/12/2011 11:26

mlisc sorry you had another crap night. That sickness bug seems to be never ending doesn't it?

memphis I will bf the next one but will def make sure the feed/ sleep association is gone by 6 months. I'll even use a dummy if that's what it takes. If I feed past 6 months I'll stop by a year.

OMG mylife thats soooo shite! and i thought my night was bad! poor you and poor E, what set W off do u think?
tsc why have they been up? U mean out of bed? what is going on with our babies??
chu ur night sounds good, long may it last!! How are u feeling?
I have just cried my eyes out, think dh thinks im going mad already but i feel a bit better for the release, im soooo fed up i just dont know what to do with myself, i just want it all over with and for us to be home and safe.

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 21/12/2011 13:36

Oh sorry you're feeling down vik :(

ds2 has been doing this everynight for a while vik Angry I don't know wtf is the matter with him

Despite constant medication for the last 24 hours, ds1's temp is 39.5 again. I just can't keep on top of it and he's crying/looks like shit again so I've just made him an appointment at the doctors for 2.50

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 21/12/2011 13:51

It's 39.7 now Xmas Sad

Chulita · 21/12/2011 14:00

mlisc are you alternating calpol/ibuprofen every 2 hours? My two have both had horror viruses with sky high temps and that seemed to keep the temp below 40C most of the time. Hope the doc finds what's wrong with him.

DesperateHousewife21 · 21/12/2011 14:02

Hope the docs can give him something. It's horrible when they're ill :(

D had half an hour nap and that took some doing. He's cheerful though so I don't mind. Having a whole nights sleep is obv doing him some good too.

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 21/12/2011 14:16

Am alternating them yes, but not as often as 2 hourly because he is still needing them overnight, and I can't exceed 4 doses in 24hrs/3 doses in 24hrs.

viksam · 21/12/2011 16:15

Dont mind me, im just extremly horemonal i think AND hadnt eaten much and im finding that really affecting me at the moment.
mylife what did the doc do/say? and i wonder if W is in the sleep regression thing, i have visited that sleep site many times but i wont pay to join a website, thats just wrong imo.
dh doesnt matter if hes happy does it, maybe hes saving all his sleep for tonight........Mmmmmmmmm sleeeeeeeeeppppppp, i need more!!!!!!
Well we have cleaned the icandy and the maxi-cozi up, found the wedge and the head hugger for the maxi-cozi but not the damn adaptors for it for the icandy so thats ashame. The maxi-cozi is drying now and i shall put his little snow suite and a blanket in there ready later on. Mothercare have a killer clothing sale on, loads of lovely stuff at really great prices, shame i dont really need anything AND have no money after yesterday.......im waffeling now so i'll go and do something usefull!!

DesperateHousewife21 · 21/12/2011 16:24

Bloody hell, my friend who was meant to be coming over at 4 has cancelled, she text me at 4 to tell me. Bored and fed up now and Ive got no plans at all for tomo gah!

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 21/12/2011 16:46

He's got tonsilitis Xmas Sad

Hey ho, we have antibiotics, more paracetamol and ibuprofen and he is eating pancakes his first meal in days at the moment

viksam · 21/12/2011 17:17

Ahhh bless him, hopefully things will look up for him if hes eating and with the antib's. Tonsilitis is so much more common than i thought and can make u really poorly cant it, dh had it bad once and it really knocked him about. Poor E!
dh thats crap, why let you down like that at the last in, hope she had a good reason. The weather is so hit and miss right now its hard to plan anything isnt it. When does ur dh finish work?
Might do pizza hut and cinema tomorrow, havent been to the ciname since the week before D came!
