wss I wish it was summer here! Glad your dh is ok, some drivers just don't look do they? I nearly had the same thing the other day, had to do an emergency stop to avoid it grr.

Cold and rainy here today, I'm driving my dad to look at a car later, hope D doesnt fall asleep in the car again.

viksam · 16/12/2011 08:37

chu i dont suppose u would post the recipe for the muffins would u or post a link to an easy one, dh would like them too i recon.
My dh spends loads of time on his pc which is in the dining room part of our through room, he runs a business as well as works full time so most of the time he's working in his spare time but he does game as well, he hardly ever sits on the sofa, i hate that i have to put up with his desk and printer and stuff in the 'dining room' instead of a table and chairs but if it wasnt in there id never see him!
mylife best of luck for today, just relax and be yourself, they will love you, just like we do!!
memphis hows the poo's today, when was your busy day?
wss shame about the car but good that theres no issues and its all straight forward.
dh what sort of night did D have? I hate to say that we didnt hear a peep out of D from 7.10pm untill 7.40am!!!!!!!!!!!!!!actually, tell a lie, he cried out for about 3mins at around 10.30 but ss, so a fantastic night and what a lovely boy he is today!! makes such a differance!

WhatSheSaid · 16/12/2011 08:39

The unofficial news on the insurance is that we will get about 2K Shock which is more than I expected.

Dh is looking at 2-seater convertibles. Mazda MX5s specifically. He is 40. Can I just say the words mid life crisis Grin

Chulita · 16/12/2011 08:58

Banana muffins for viksam - these don't have cinnamon in cos DH hates the stuff!

250 g self-raising flour
150 g caster sugar
70 g wholemeal flour
2 large ripe bananas
2 eggs, lightly beaten
3 1/2 tbsp vegetable oil
150 ml milk

  1. preheat the oven to 200C/gas 6. Line a 12-hole muffin tin with paper cases.
  1. Tip the flour, sugar and wholemeal flour into a large mixing bowl and form a well in the centre.
  1. In another bowl, use a fork or potato masher to mash the bananas, then mix in the eggs, oil and milk.
  1. Pour the banana mixture into the dry ingredients. Using a wooden spoon, stir everything together for a few seconds until only just combined but still quite lumpy. The lumps will disappear during baking. This is the secret to lovely, light muffins - don?t be tempted to keep mixing or they will become heavy.
  1. Spoon the mixture into the muffin cases and bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
  1. Let the muffins cool for 2 minutes in the tin, then transfer to a rack to cool completely.

wss good stuff about the payout! Usually the car is worth far more to us than to the insurance companies. Grin at the 2 seater too!

Another party to go to today which will take up the morning and hopefully wear S out.

memphis83 · 16/12/2011 09:20

wss thats good regarding the payout, whenI have had to have a payout I have to decline the offer about 4 times! The last time someone smashed into me the insuance asked what I would settle on as I kept declining and the hire car was being billed to them at £300 a day Grin
viksam no poo yet today, L has only just woken up though he needs to tear around for a bit to get his bowels moving! No doubt he will explode at my dads! Grin
mlic hope today goes well, I think going with a bandaged hand could be a positive, they may think that even though you had an accident you would still be willing to work when some would use it as an excuse to have loads of time off work!
chulita not long now til H arrives home, how long is he back for?
L is working in London today but its been snow the whole way down so he may just have to drive home as he cant work with a bit of snow. Its my dads birthday today so we are popping over there shortly and then my friend who has been in Austrailia for a year is suppost to be visiting later but im not holding my breath, she has cancelled 3 times already.

The doc told me I can buy toddler immodium from chemist but the chemist has said L is too young for it, have left message with surgery, wish they had given me a prescription for the stuff!

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 16/12/2011 14:56

Mad busy day!!!!!

WSS that's excellent re payout. Hmm at 2 seaters though...

I have just finished my lunch (tea, toast and crisps - can't beat a carb overload Grin) after leaving the house at 8am and getting in at 2.30.

I think I have finished my Christmas shopping. Now to wrap the tower of presents surrounding me and hide them somewhere So much for Fridays being relaxing. Productive, yes: relaxing, no

It seemed to go well this morning. Fingers crossed!

memphis83 · 16/12/2011 15:50

mlic I have my fingers crossed for you! hows the hand?

Just got back from my dads and he has cancer :( its his birthday today too so was suppost to be happy, we find out thursday if its spread.
So we have been there til 1 then Asda and ive just put L down for a nap (what was I thinking at this time!)

viksam · 16/12/2011 19:48

memph im so sorry to hear that, not good news at any time of year but always some how worse at xmas. Hope L goes down for the night ok with such a late sleep.
mylife hows the hand? did you like the place you visited today, can you see urself there?
chu thank you for the recepie, it does seem pretty straight forward, i need a muffin tray and some cases though first!!
cake ur pics are so lovely no snow here yet.
I have been having loads of twinges in the last few hours, dh is out with work, do you think a mw will come out to me if i thought i was in full on labour, i wouldnt want to take D somewhere only to be sent home from hospital cos im not far enough along, really difficult situation.

DesperateHousewife21 · 16/12/2011 19:49

D is beyond crap atm. Don't know if it's still his cold or teeth but he keeps swallowing like something's bugging him.

Had a 3 round trip in the car today to take my dad to look at a car. D was on the whole very good. He's in bed now but I bet he'll be awake again within the hour.
He wouldnt go down for his nap today I was a very shouty screamy mummy :( he fell asleep in the car in the end and had 50 mins so not a complete failure.

DesperateHousewife21 · 16/12/2011 19:50

3 HOUR round trip*

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 16/12/2011 19:50

Oh my God memphis that's terrible. So sorry for you and your family

memphis83 · 16/12/2011 19:52

mlic im fine, no point in worrying til thursday but... my sister was slagging him off like crazy the other day then was a crying and drama queen, made me a bit angry really!

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 16/12/2011 19:54

x post

Ooooooo vik, are you timing them? The first thing they will ask if you ring is how far apart are your contractions (if they are contractions) and how long are they lasting. Sending you lots of good luck vibes :) From memory they need to be lasting 30 seconds and to have 3 in 10 mins before you're 'hospital ready' but your hospital may be different so maybe give them a ring to ask?

memphis83 · 16/12/2011 20:00

viksam my local hospital is the same as mlic lasting 30 seconds and 3 in 10 mins, could you ring the hospital and ask advice? when is dh home?
I didnt let L sleep for long and we let him run riot then we said a bit ago are you ready for bed? and he went to the gate and said 'bed' he was asleep before I had finished his mr men book!
p.s we want running commentary on the twinges Grin

WhatSheSaid · 16/12/2011 20:05

memphis so sorry to hear about your dad

Chulita · 16/12/2011 20:34

memphis so sorry to hear that, what horrible news to get at any time of year, but especially when it's such a party time of year. Fingers crossed for Thursday that it's not spread and can easily be treated.

viksam both the places I've been have had the same as the others have said, 30 seconds/3 in 10 mins. Keep us updated!

kkfairybrains · 16/12/2011 20:47

Memphis sorry to hear that:( hopefully it'll be good news on thursday that it hasn't spread.
Vik big good luck vibes going your way! so exciting!

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 16/12/2011 20:59

Vik where are you?

I need would like a 'twinge' update please

Xmas Grin
viksam · 16/12/2011 21:26

Im at home, and nothing doing atm, loads of hurty movement though, i will keep you updated but i will say im off to bed now so dont panic if i dont post for a while. DH will be back later on tonight, hopefully not too drunk, id have to drive myself to the hospital if something happened!
Something weird happened this morning, i was in the babys room with D just letting him look at the moses basket and generally just playing in and out of there and he was reaching for the mobile, so i wound it up and it went round and played its little tune and D was smiling at it and watching it, i wasnt paying much attention really but i had said thats where the baby will sleep etc and he and stuck his bottom lip out and genuinly sobbed, big fat tears and all, it made me cry too, so we were both knelt on the floor crying, very weird moment.
Well, heres to a good night for us all dh dont worry i'll share my shite night story on here tomorrow im sure!
xx

viksam · 17/12/2011 08:36

last to post and first to post, does that make me really sad??
Nothing over night here, 39 weeks today, you can come now baby!
dh d has a bit of a shitty night as expected, up at 4.30 and then awake on and off till 7. I went in at about 5ish and he had somehow got his sleeping bag and his PJ bottoms off!! thats a first.
Whats everyone doing this weekend? The last weekend before the big day!!

DesperateHousewife21 · 17/12/2011 08:38

memphis so sorry to hear about your dad, fingers crossed for thurs. What a thing to find out just before Xmas :(

vik how are the pains today? Hoping to see baby pics v soon!!

I'm going to my mums this aft without D to watch Love Actually, we watch it every year around Xmas time. It'll be v nice to have a couple of hours to slob out on the sofa in front of the fire with maltesers!

Dylthan · 17/12/2011 09:51

Memphis I'm so sorry to hear about your dad Sad I will be keeping everything crossed that you get good news on Thursday.
