Chulita · 13/12/2011 18:14

Thankfully it wasn't frequent, only about twice a day so nothing like your L, just saying that she did grow out of it in the end! [not much help emoticon]

The weather has been miserable hasn't it?! I don't mind too much except when, like woodlands I'm trying to give them some time to run around outside. Mum and I popped them in their waterproofs and wellies on Sunday and they had a mega long splash in puddles outside our house. S landed in them face first a couple of times but it kept them busy!

I just made baileys fudge and jelly christmas trees with those Lakeland cutters. The trees look really cool but I've got loads of jelly, might have to deposit some on the neighbours tomorrow!

viksam · 13/12/2011 20:39

Blimey chu i wish i was ur neighbour! you are clever!
I sorted the babys room this afternoon and made up the spare bed and sorted nappies and wipes and a changing place ect, i LOVE just tatting around doing little jobs and getting stuff ready..........however i feel i maybe should have packed my bags as i have been feeling a lot of twinges!..............BUT, Devon has taken a turn for the worst and hasnt eaten much at the cm, she called me to go get him but because i was upstairs i didnt hear my mobile, he just sat on my lap all lifeless for about 20 mins when he got home, then, strangly, he got a second wind and had a fruit puree and a yogurt, the cm thinks he may be developing chicken pox, has anyone experienced it in their lo's? I really really hope he isnt, that would suck a big one, especially in the light of what i said above! Midwife said the head is well down now, hence why im soooooooooo uncomfortable i suppose. Sorry, a very meeeeeee post!
mylife how are u feeling today?

Woodlands · 13/12/2011 23:11

ooooh viksam get that bag packed missus! You never know when it might happen... Really hope it's not chicken pox.

Had a lovely night out thanks, really hit it off with one of the people I didn't know already, so that was great!

DesperateHousewife21 · 14/12/2011 07:38

memphis he might use an aqua draw mat but I don't think he would play with it for ages. He goes from toy to toy every few mins, cars get the most use.

vik yes pack that bag, mine was only half packed with D because he was early so when my waters broke we had to quickly shove the rest of the things in there and I still don't think we were properly prepared.

viksam · 14/12/2011 07:52

Morning,
Well not such a bad night here, he woke 3 times but i left him for longer than i would normally given that hes poorly and he ss within 5 mins each time, so that was good, and only two loo loo trips for me! Im sat here observing him and trying to decide wether to take him the the cm's or not??? He seems ok and has eaten and drank well so far, but i feel very selfish, i guess id take him if i was at work............ i hate not knowing what to do.

memphis83 · 14/12/2011 08:49

viksam hope D isnt getting ill and he is ok, get your bag packed, I packed really light and still used hardly any of it! But we were only up the road then so dh could have popped and got stuff (which I made him do after 2 days in the delivery suite Grin)
chulita fudge sounds lovely! Im hoping L will settle down soon and doc also reassured me he will grow out of it but didnt think it could be when he is nearly 3!
where is everybody? even cakes, tsc and mlic have gone AWOL, do you think they have all gone to Center Parcs together?

L has already filled his pants 4 times today its such a battle to get him to lie down after a few as he gets frustrated, I had to try and attempt to put a nappy on while he stood yesterday and he farted and it was so loose it fell off! So going to buy a pack of pull ups just for when he wont lie down long enough, feel bad for him that he never gets nappy off time for fear of an explosion, when he pooped on the floor on monday someone was watching over me as it was solid-ish!

I wrapped presents for 4 hours last night all I need to do now is L'ss and DH's but 3 gifts still havent come for dh!
I also booked out weekend in London to watch Lion King, shopping, show, 3 course meal and and disco at the hotel (so I can get drunk and just fall into hotel room) then shopping all day on the Sunday, dh wont come with me so im going with mum but he is giving me money for shopping!

memphis83 · 14/12/2011 09:21

Question for bakers, if I am making a fruitcake I want to split the mix into twoo I have two loaf tin size cakes, how do I sort cooking times? fruit cake takes 4-4.5 hours to cook so how would I change the xooking times or would I not bother?

viksam · 14/12/2011 10:59

memphis 4 already this morning, wow, thats going some, poor boy, i have pull ups for D and they are ace for when he doesnt want to play ball, they have bob the builder on them too which actually does help, and they havent leaked.....so far. Your weekend sounds ace, im very Xmas Envy Cant help with the baking question, soz, if it was something about how to cook fish fingers i might be able to help!!!!hahaha!
I took D to the cm's, hope i have done the right thing, i said to call me straight away if he takes a turn for the worst, but he really did seem fine, cant help feling selfish and guilty though!
Yeah, where is everyone, mylife hope ur not poorly
chu half way through the week, hows things been so far? Did you get into town?
cake how are things?
spireal hope work isnt too full on and ur getting some rest.
dh im going to tidy up then go pack my bag! I have just remembered i have a bag of stuff i put in the loft from D's birthday including an aquadraw, i can wrap that up for xmas! i totally forgot about it all, theres a thomas and tunnel thing and some magnetic trucks, yay!
This baby is moving so much it hurts is that normal?

memphis83 · 14/12/2011 11:13

viksam L was so active even at the very end it hurt, I had a bruised belly button for a couple of weeks after I had him!
Will get some pull ups was worried they would leak but you have put my mind at rest obviously with the about he goes at the mo I dont want to use them every time, we are on the 7th poo now its starting to smell rank in the house! we also have a few presents that we didnt give L on his birthday like a thomas train set, I really wanted a travel aquadraw for L to take to my mums but every argos is out of stock!
Oh and fish fingers....there is an art to cook them, I always burn them so we never have them, Ialso struggle with fried egg! can bake and cook most other things though!

DesperateHousewife21 · 14/12/2011 11:58

I use the bob the builder pull ups too. vik Poor baby is prob cramped and wants to make an escape soon!

D fell asleep on my lap bless him so I put him in bed and he didn't even stir. Hope he has a decent nap.

viksam · 14/12/2011 12:12

Yep dh i think he wants out! Hope D sleeps well for u and u get a rest.
memph i can cook a mean fish finger and a yummy fried egg!!! haha! Is there nothing the doc can give to help? He must have a sore bum! What about diet, theres loads of things you can eat to loosen you up is there anything that will do the opposite? A bruised belly button, thats some kicking man!!

memphis83 · 14/12/2011 14:02

viksam ive got an 'outy' belly button so its a hernia thats why it bruised easier! L's bum is ok I think its because it smells so bad I have to change it before it sits on his bum (we are on number 9 of the day) the Landlord has just arrived with the plumber as i was spooning the contents of L's nappy into sample jars! so classy! the doc says I can give him infant imodium if we are going out for the day and dont want to have all those nappies but not to use it much, dont really want to start using that though much may use it sunday as we have a birthday party and an xmas party togo to and we are attempting to go to see the xmas light in the city after the failed attempt when he exploded in john lewis!
so bored not been able to leave the house plumber was suppost to be here at 8am then 12 and has just turned up!

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 14/12/2011 14:49

NoI'm still here. But I have disabled my fb for a while. The group should be ok though cos I made cake admin - but let me know if it's not.

I've applied for 3 jobs today. Keep your fingers crossed ladies

viksam · 14/12/2011 16:24

Oooh, mylife what sort of jobs, defo fingers crossed for you! are u ok?

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 14/12/2011 17:14

Yes I'm fine thanks :)

Just admin jobs, all 3 of which I meet all the essential criteria. But that means nothing in this economic climate/jobs market.

viksam · 14/12/2011 17:33

Oh man, what is wrong with this child, he's been ok all day aparently but now i've come to give him his tea hes screaming again, hes ok when he has finger food but cries when i put anything sloppy in, like his in pain, so he's eating his fishfingers but not the mash or beans, i would have thought it would have been the other way around if he was sore somewhere in his mouth or throat, very weird behavour.
mylife its such a difficult time atm for jobs, my friend took volentary redundency and i think she wishes she hadnt now as shes out of work and out of money, not good.

Chulita · 14/12/2011 19:20

memphis I'd have lost the plot by now with that many nappies a day for so long. Good luck seeing the lights and have a lovely weekend, I'm very jealous!

viks that is very strange, you'd think he'd want the sloppier stuff rather than things he has to chew. I hope he sorts it out and settles down soon.

mlisc fingers crossed for you! I hope at least one of them wants to snap you up.

dh I love it when they fall asleep on you, doesn't happen often but it's so sweet :)

L has been an absolute mission this afternoon, we had a good morning but she's cried pretty much non-stop since lunch. She's been asking for noodles for tea for a few days and she wanted pizza so I did those and she didn't eat a thing. She just sat at the table and cried. I ended up having cold noodles with semi-frozen peas for my tea and I just know DH is going to ring up and tell me all about another lovely steak dinner or something. I very nearly lost the plot today and that's the last thing I need from him!

memphis83 · 14/12/2011 19:39

chulita the London weekend is booked for February. Really hope dh doesnt tell you about his lovely food, any known reason why L was crying when she was at the table? I feel terrible for using disposables at the rate I do but also realistically I couldnt have coped with this many washable ones!
viksam maybe he prefers finger type food at the moment as it gives him more freedom (as in he finds it easier than using a spoon) ? My niece is 5 months and she is defo going to be baby led weaned she doesnt like slop at all but they gave her a cheese straw and she ate it! Shock L still gags on them now!
Just cooked lovely tea and got the pics of L, they are lovely, L stopped pooping at number 11 I have bought pull ups for the next day like it!

DesperateHousewife21 · 14/12/2011 20:10

vik D goes through bouts of accepting food off a spoon and wanting to use his fingers. It depends on what the food is too. I prefer him doing it because I get to eat my dinner hot!

He had a 50ish min nap today, then we were out all afternoon with friends at the library then soft play so hoping hes knackered and sleeps well.

He hadn't pooed for about 3 days then he did a massive one after dinner so also hoping that means he'll sleep better if he's not all bunged up in that sense, he's still got a cold though but not as bad.

CakeandRoses · 14/12/2011 21:50

hey guys,

i'm here - been dipping in and out so i'm half up to date. just been so busy with everything - dh is away again tonight and i'm soooo disorganised re xmas.

chul sounds bloody tough there Sad when's dh back?

memph i'm no doctor but i would have thought the frequency of L's poos would exclude toddler diarrhea. sounds like you've got a good doc tho and i'm pleased he's looking into it properly for you. really hope there's a solution.

vik both my two hurt me when pg too. F was like a freaking washing machine right up til he was born. poor you - no fun at all. can;t believe how close you are to having a newborn again - seems like no time since you told us you might be pg!!

good luck with the jobs mlic! p/t or f/t?

whats up re fb?

stuff my two in the winter: drawing, painting, singing and dancing and playing instruments, doing jigsaw puzzles, helping to bake (even A enjoys helping to stir, taste and smell stuff (!) and bang measuring cups around).

tbh, they will just play together for ages now A's more fun for F iyswim? they chase each other round or pretend to cook or shop together or just play with trains and cars together. never believed it would be like that. not sure it'll last tho!

we also have a wander round the shops and have a drink and snack in a cafe nearly every afternoon that i'm not working but it is the kind of town that is easy to do that and i'm literally a minute's walk away.

G has been having tantrums for ages, she actually bangs her head on our (wooden) floor if she can't get what she wants Sad. I think it's going to be interesting when she gets to 3...

DesperateHousewife21 · 15/12/2011 07:54

tsc wow that will be amazing for them. Keep seeing the pants advertised on tv. Are their studios in Manchester now? Or somewhere around there?

Well D didn't do as well as I'd hoped last night, it gets to about half 9 and he just won't settle down in his bed. He goes quiet then starts freaking out. I'm going to wait til he's in his new bed and be very strict with him. I want him to use his bed and get the most out of it. I need to crack it now before we have another one. There's no way he can be in our bed when we've got a newborn.

Not much planned for today, might go round my mum and dads and take D out for a walk depending on the weather.

DesperateHousewife21 · 15/12/2011 07:54

Lol! Panto not pants!

Chulita · 15/12/2011 08:00

My two started tantruming the day they were born. S has several a day for one reason or another, and he's not remotely cute.

cake I'd love to live that close to a cafe, it's great being able to get out every afternoon just for a potter! My two play well together too about half the time and it's lovely.

Ah, I was trying to work out how you were going to fit a trip to London in this weekend with all the other stuff memphis Blush that explains it!

tsc Grin have fun at the panto, I was thinking the other day that L would love it!

I told DH not to talk about his meal so he didn't, good thing too!
The lads he's with dragged him out on a pub crawl, he's not a big drinker and really doesn't enjoy going out and watching other people get sloshed but he likes the chatter pre-sloshedness iyswim. Anyway, they got really pushy when he said he was heading back, I think that's such a stupid attitude, if you don't like it, you don't like it and why should you be bullied into staying out spending money on something you don't like?

Got a children's centre christmas party this morning, I'm going to take some sausage rolls and hope it's not too busy. It's rubbish when there are too many people there, hoping that nursery doesn't turn up with their 10 children too, that really would be taking the piss.
