Aaaaaahhhh! L is doing my head in, she just doesn't shut up from the moment she gets up til well after I've tucked her up in bed (in fact not even then since she talks so much in her sleep), sooooo wearing!

viks it depends what you want the double for, ie: easily transported in cars/small folding for storage/one-handed fold/good shopping basket size/good for cross-country/jogging etc.

viksam · 04/12/2011 17:21

dh cant help with your problem, soz, its been soooo long since i used any form of contraception at all! hence being 37 wks pregnant, tired, fat, a bit fed, daunted.........Ummmmmmm did i say tired! haha!
We did go to the seaside in the end, unfortunatly there is a TK Maxx there and i spent some money on books but i was really amazed at what they had there there was loads of brio and some mega blocks stuff and some wow toys, i think im going to regret not buying the brio but it was still on the expensive side and it said 3+.
D has been really grumpy today, cant tell why, could be that pesky molar that is still breaking through, his ear on that side is bright red too so who knows??

viksam · 04/12/2011 17:31

chu it must be very wearing, no matter how much u love them they can get right under ur skin cant they.
Re the pushchair, i want it for all of the above apart from the jogging part, cant imagine anything more hard work than jogging with a double!! Which one did u have?

DesperateHousewife21 · 04/12/2011 17:52

vik that'll be me next year. I'm getting v broody.

Our tree is up! Put a pic on fb. We had to clear a load of D's toys out the way first so it now looks so tidy in here! We've gone for a red and gold theme.

memphis83 · 04/12/2011 17:54

viksam we bought a 12 month meal for L the other day as we were caught out and about longer than exected and it was a Hipp Organic Scrumble (think it was chicken and pumpkin?) he loved it, smacking his lips asking for more.
tsc glad your home, shit about Clara, hope the swelling has gone down!
mlic have a great holiday, wish i was going.
dh counting? I rarely do letters with L, I think its better to get him saying wrds than recognising the letters, we sing could songs, I realised the other day im not even doing colours! Ive been too obsessed with telling him what a thing is rather than its colour, and tv he has watched it today, we normally put a dvd on when we want him to wind down for a bit, yesterday was the Gruffalo and today was Gnomio and Julliet but he doesnt sit glued to it, but he does like kissing the people on tv and looks behind it to see where the people are!

DH is away until at least wednesday and im going to a designer outlet in Nottingham tomorrow to try and get his presents, Im also getting him a flying lesson as he doesnt want an xbox.
L cut another tooth so hoping his runny bum will stop now, he is only going twice a day now though, he now has 10 teeth, 8 on the top ans 2 on the bottom, does anyone find this strange? im worried he hasnt got anymore teeth down there, his top gums are bulging but his bottom ones there is no sign of any teeth!

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 05/12/2011 07:33

Oh no tsc, hope they're both better today

I so wanted to get packed last night but time ran away from me/Iwas too tired. At least we don't have to set off by any particular time, so I can pack at my leisure. Don't need to worry about fashion, just warmth because my friend is there at the moment and says it snowed yesterday Xmas Grin Think more is forecast for today too.

Shit night here thanks to ds1 for a change. I slept in his bed after he woke screaming (literally) in the night. How can a not-quite-three year old take up so much of a double bed Confused

DesperateHousewife21 · 05/12/2011 08:19

Tsc- sounds horrible. I too hate dealing with sick. I can handle poo or any variety but sick is just nasty. Hope they're better today.

D only slept for 20 mins in the day yesterday and that was at half 3 so I had to wake him up. He had a crap night and ended up in our bed again.

Dh is worried about getting me preg now even though I'm coming off my pill after Xmas.

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 05/12/2011 08:31

Why is he worried?

viksam · 05/12/2011 08:40

mylife get packing man, id be off as soon as i could if i were u! how far away is CP for u?
dh if u are then its meant to be and its not bad timing at all really, D would be 2, i think thats a great age gap.
tsc hows things with u today.
Its only 8.30 and im already tired and board, how bad is that!! its raining out so no idea what to do today, what anyone (apart from mylife!!) doing??

DesperateHousewife21 · 05/12/2011 08:47

Well because I missed those 2 pills and getting preg now for me wouldn't be the end of the world but he just worries about things too much. We had a talk the other night about having another and we decided I'd wait til after Xmas then stop takin my pill. He's a typical man though and doesnt really talk about things I have to force an answer out of him.
He would be happy if I got preg though and he does want another one.

I think 2 years is a good age gap too, I don't want to be massively preg when we go to Spain next July though!

DesperateHousewife21 · 05/12/2011 10:05

I think you can fly upto around 34 weeks if the preg is straightforward.
So that's about 7-8 months. I might not get preg straight away either, I got preg in the second month with D but this time might be different who knows.

Got a beef casserole in the slow cooker yummy!

Chulita · 05/12/2011 12:24

tsc glad the vomming's stopped, I too am awful with sick, just makes me retch and retch. Bleugh.

dh I think it is around 34-36 weeks if there's nothing wrong. I've never been one to go late on but then I hate being pg so just wouldn't enjoy a holiday.

S only slept for 15 mins yesterday and had another awful night of being up 5 times and then awake at 05.45.

What do you lot think of this dress for post-pgcy/bfing wedding outfit? I can't work out what size I'd be is the main problem but I quite like it.

mlic hope you have a lovely week! we'll miss you Grin

memphis flying lessons are a slippery slope ime, the two people I know who got given them then went on to get their pilot's licence and one of them bought his own plane...

Trudyla · 05/12/2011 13:05

dh You can fly even later if you've got an all clear statement from your GP.

tsc Blimey, I hope you're gonna get a break soon. Sounds like a nightmare round yours.

mlic Have fun at CP!

viks We've got the Baby Jogger CMD. It's very good, easy to push, etc. However, I would suggest you wait and see how you get on. We've used it maybe 5 times so far. It's always been so cold and windy that I preferred to have F in a sling and just used M's buggy. I suppose though that the Baby Jogger will come in handy when F is a bit older and a bit more robust and I don't worry about his tiny newborn body getting cold so much anymore

chul I love the dress. It looks very nice. I couldn't wear it at the moment though, cos my tummy is still horrendously big, much more so than 4 weeks after M's birth. It is probably to do with me having eaten everything and everyone in sight during pregnancy. And after really. Xmas Blush So you will probably be absolutely fine with the dress.

cake Thanks again for all your advice and experience about reflux and colic. We've had a much better weekend with him so something we're doing must be working, though he seems again more unsettled today. I can hear that he's swallowing too much air and I have been doing the things you've suggested but he goes mental if I take him off once the letdown starts. Oh well, I have a doctor's appointment next week and will ask again then.

We had a lovely weekend with SIL and her DH. Both kids were in very good moods (well, one was mainly sleeping and eating Xmas Grin). We went to a tapas bar with them yesterday and it was really, really nice. M was running around like a loon, flirting with the waiters and F was all snuggled up with me in the sling. I briefly took him out in the beggining to take off his snowsuit and you could actually hear the sigh that went through the restaurant. So funny, how people just melt when they see newborns.

Ooops, had lots more to say, but babyboy is waking up, so gotta go.

False alarm, he settled again. Can't remember who asked about telly. I hardly have it on during the week, a bit more at the weekend. Mainly because I don't like the constant noise, it makes me all shaky, but also cos I've realised that M gets used to it being on. She points out when a programme finishes and it goes quiet and she moans until another programme comes on and I don't like the idea of that, so I will continue with keeping it off most of the time. She doesn't really watch anything yet anyway, cos she can't concentrate long enough.

Right, I'm used to M being the last with most things on this thread anyway, but if you are actually telling me that she should be counting, I'm gonna leave Xmas Grin She still doesn't say a word, never mind bloody counting.

What are your plans for the week? We're gonna go to the Christmas marked again today, though it is really windy outside. No big plans otherwise.

I'd better go now, see you all later.

Chulita · 05/12/2011 14:04

trudy at 3 weeks post partum I sincerely doubt my stomach will be anything but MASSIVE. It is a pgcy dress though so it'll have that stretch. I've just got to face it, I'm going to look utterly crap and it'll be saved in the wedding photos for all of eternity.

Can I agree with chul on the flying thing? DH got 2 lessons for Christmas last year and has now passed all the exams and is only about 5 off completing his pilot's license :)

DesperateHousewife21 · 05/12/2011 15:35

chulita I like the dress it's def handy for bfing and looks like it has some stretch to it should you need it!

Took D to a group today, we had to leave the babies in the crèche whilst the mums went into the room next door to drink tea and chat. He HATED it, he is so so attached to me and really cries and hugs me tight when I get back. I hate leaving him and they make us do it every week saying its good for him when it goes against my instinct it feels like anything but good for him.

I'm just going to stop taking my pill after Xmas and what will be will be.

Chulita · 05/12/2011 16:04

dh bollocks to that. Seriously, total, utter, big hairy bollocks. All that's going to do is make him scared of that place and possibly others [bitter experience emoticon] No one at a children's group can make you leave your child, tell them to butt out (or that he's going through a clingy stage and you'd rather help him through it than leave him). I was told the same re L at about 2 years old and it really set us back in the clingy stakes. Some children don't mind being left, some do. Both have mine have been/are very clingy but if they need me to feel secure so be it, as long as they're not still doing it at 15!
I hate the whole "leave them it's good for them" lie, pisses me right off...can you tell? Grin

DesperateHousewife21 · 05/12/2011 17:14

Haha yes I can tell! It makes me not want to go to that group cos I hate leaving him crying for me. Admittedly he is fine after I've gone when he's being distracted but then he's a wreck again when I go back in.

viksam · 05/12/2011 19:03

I think ur right chu i only left D at the cm through necessity and it was very hard knowing he was crying when i left. I will say though he soon got used to it and now he has a big grin when he goes up to the door. But thats leaving him all day so he has time to get used to it, not just for an hour or less, thats not good imo.
tsc oh no, thats shit, if its anything like what me and dh had its very short lived, once u have got it all out, so to speak. Ginger ale worked nicley with me.
So, when u have a battle of wills with your lo's what do u do, e.g. its silly i know but he kept knocking his cup off his high chair table and i wanted it to stay on there, i remember super nanny saying 'choose ur battles' which is very good advice i think, but u have to put ur foot down somewhere so they know u mean business, what would you all have done?

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 05/12/2011 19:19

Oh my God this child was sent to try me. Been here half a day and W has fallen and is struggling to walk on his right foot :(
