Thank you ladies for your posts which mad me cry Shock Blush . d you are so right - I have been trying to just eat healthy stuff, take care of myself and do a bit of exercise and hope that this is a good way to start even if progress is very slow. ff lady seems obsessed that I'm not losing weight and I fail if I don't lose. I know I need to lose weight and tbh I know I can and will, it just needs to be when I've sorted myself out and don't bf. In the meantime I'll just try and take care of what I eat/exercise but not obsessively. I hope I don't sound too head in the sand. 40 see I think I'm the same as you re: no weight loss when bfing. It''s sort of depressing but also good I'm not the only one re: all your exercise and no weight loss. I tell ff lady about people struggle to lose weight when bfing and I get the impression she thinks I'm making it up as she just keeps telling me people are designed to lose weight when bfing Angry

needto how did the apt go? hope ben slept OK for you

ledkr boo to lack of sleep but glad the thing today was useful and Grin to the nicotine lady

byron whenever I hear of greece in the news (which let's face it is alot) I think 'I know someone in Greece' Wink

hubbard any joy on an apt?

wiggles Grin to giraffe story

I've left another msg on hv phone so you can stop pestering me for a couple of days now

deb go you with the weight loss Grin . Are your clothes alot looser now?

ledkr · 09/11/2011 16:05

reastie In all my dieting obsessed years i have met many fat fighter majorie dawes types and have yet to meet one who isnt obsessed with diets and scornfull of people who dont lose weight. All the ones ive met have either been fat themselves or anorexic and think cos they lost weight everyone else should.
one of them actually had an affair with my friends dh so thats hows how ruthless they are.A bit like ex smokers imo. How dare she play down your pnd stupid woman. grrrrrrrrrrrrr

ledkr · 09/11/2011 16:07

d at the ww meeting all the fat helpers who do the weigh ins sell horrid food etc are all ginormous and munch their way through loads of ww snacks during the meeting.

WeAreBorg · 09/11/2011 17:22

reastie FF lady sounds insane, she should know about BF too if her expertise is meant to be diets. Stupid woman. Just thought, one thing that helped me was a heart rate monitor; I used to run fast (well not fast per se, but faster than say walking), and got really out breath and knackered so hated it, but when I got the monitor I realised I could go quite slowly but burned off lots of cals so I was more motivated to exercise. I also did something on line where I had to record everything I ate and realised I was eating about 400 cals in fruit every day thinking I was dead healthy Shock

byron I'm pleased and relieved we have a scientific expert on this thread, yay for us! delia so what is med comms then?

ledkr good luck for your DS, hope his dad is a match, agree it would be too much for you what with the cancer in the past and a baby. You have such a lot going on, I would be gibbering mess. I cannot bear early starts, 5am is a joke, really hope she sorts herself out.

emski CUTE. So lovely of your Ben, hope N is going to be like that and want to marry me

wiggles What????!!! No giraffes in NI? I am speechless with indignation.

Tea time now, crumpets and chicken legs for the Nate-ster, he has such bizarre combinations of what I have lurking in my fridge

hubbard86 · 09/11/2011 18:21

no joy reastie will ring again in the am. Spoke to mr vadivilus receptionist at 3pm and he was in theatre all day but mr phillips might be in later. I'm gonna keep at them. Will take her to the drs tomorrow and get them to nag him too.

That ff lady needs a slap. Complain to her boss. She can't stop you dropping out. Just don't go, what she gonna do? track you down and chase you with a stick. Grin it'll come off eventually.
Ledkr hope ds finds a match soon.

wigglesrock · 09/11/2011 18:50

ledkr meant to say thought of you and ds yesterday, was watching news about implied consent re donation and your ds popped into my head! Everything crossed for a match from his dad or brothers xx

WeAreBorg Nates tea sounds yummy Grin

reastie my sister, the champion of weightloss gives fruit the by ball when she's dieting.

hubbard keep trying, start pissing them off Grin

NeedToSleepZZZ · 09/11/2011 18:56

evening all,

reastie I am so so Angry at your ff leader, she needs lessons in how to be a human being before being put in such a position. I completely agree with wiggles, no weight gain is brilliant and shows that your body is adjusting. You are doing the sensible thing and I've been told that the longer the weight takes to come off, the longer it stays off.

Just a quick post as I need to talk to OH, he went to his appt with the alcohol worker and he basically won't talk about it now and just said it was horrible. We had another argument last night/ this morning because he went to the pub (no alcohol though) when he was meant to be looking after Ben last night (we're taking it in turns because he's still being a nightmare re sleeping). I thought that things were getting better but I guess it's going to take more than a week for things to change.

hubbard, you're doing the right thing by persevering with the docs, I'm so sorry about Freya and thinking of you both.

love to everyone x

debka · 09/11/2011 19:42

reastie the only reason I am losing weight is because my stubborn little baby has given up bfing. I have never lost weight during bfing. You're doing the right thing. Listen to delia she is wise and kind :) xxx

needto it's not going to take a week. It is a lifelong process, if he is an alcoholic. Stay strong for you both. xxx

ledkr I have everything crossed that your DS finds a match in his dad or one of his brothers. My step-cousin (or something) had a kidney from her mum a few years ago and she has just had her first baby. Are you getting your night out on Saturday?

hubbard keep pestering!

wiggs Grin at giraffe.

40weeks seven courses?

delia hope you had lots of cuddles at bedtime :)

PiL update- they moaned to DH at the weekend about how they didn't see the girls when we were at the show. No, they don't think of saying at the time that they don't feel like they've seen enough of them so I can actually do something about it, o no, they sulk at the time, then moan behind my back afterwards. Very grown up. DH just told them if they want to see us they should come and visit. If they don't bother we may well not go to them at Christmas Shock. At the weekend one of their oldest friends died unexpectedly. The funeral is next Monday, but they can't go, because it will be 'too much after the show' (that they don't even need to go to because DH and his sister are now in charge). How dare she die in show season! Hmm

ILovePonyo · 09/11/2011 20:11

Evening, my working week is over woohoo!

deb your pil sound like a right pair, I am baffled at the moaning after they have had a chance to see the girls Confused Hope its not bothering you too much and you can ignore, eejits.

ledkr glad meeting went well, hope your ds is ok. Agree that waking at 5 plus the night wakings is not on (listen up Dilly)I just hope she surprises you very soon and gets back into better habits.

Needto thats difficult re: dp, the lack is sleep can't be helping either. No advice but imvho is sounds like he's not faced up to things yet? I might be wrong tho. Just look after yourself xx

hubbard same goes for you, look after yourself and your lovely babies (and Mum!)

wiggles Grin at giraffe!

emski aww at B too! That is so cute :)

reastie can I just echo what everyone has said about stupid ff cowbag, is the exercise class part of the group? If not I'd keep going to the class but sack off the stupid ff womans bit.

delia I use too many !!!! all the time too but I did Grin at you saying it was crass and vulgar of you, heehee.

Hi everyone else, well I picked A up from nursery today and looked at her through the window - she was sat in a chair eating her tea like a little star, was cute. Then she caught sight of me and started crying Shock Grin So I went in and picked her up and she cried whenever I tried to put her down, I really don't mind though, it feels nice to be wanted Wink An the main thing is she is fine there without me and when we drop her off. Apparently she was playing in the ball pit today :)

debka · 09/11/2011 20:15

ponyo doesn't bother me in the slightest, they have been arses from the very beginning and I just don't care.

Anya sounds cute today, I can just picture her :)

ledkr · 09/11/2011 20:39

aw to baby ponyo d was like that when i got her from mums crying at my feet, shes been clingy today too,she has a top tooth coming through and it looks agony, not anticipating a brilliant night tbh,ive stocked up on calpol.I have had a relentless headache too.I met with a friend who's baby isnt a great sleeper and she is feeling like me too so needto the sleep deprivation doesnt help either.
Ive given up the booze for a bit, need to get the weight off and also it wasnt helping me feel better about getting up in the night.Im not missing it at all and am on a thread for others doing the same.Im not addicted just a bit keen on a daily large glass. Does dh want to give up cos in my experience he needs to.Addiction makes people incredibly selfish and manipulative.Have you got any support yet?You are going to need it.

ILovePonyo · 09/11/2011 20:39

Not cruel or hard hearted deb don't blame you, just glad it doesn't bother you and you can dismiss them as the arses that they are! Oh and yes A was very cute today Wink made me smile that you can picture her being a little monkey Grin

ILovePonyo · 09/11/2011 20:59

Ahh ledkr I remember you saying about D crying at your feet, the top tooth sounds a bit grim, hope the calpol helps. Am ignoring the fact A has no teeth yet...
Good for you on the no booze, agree with ledkr (of course) needto if your dh doesn't want to stop drinking he won't :(

wigglesrock · 09/11/2011 21:12

ledkr hope tooth comes through with not too much bother, although I think the grim night we had a few nights ago was due to her top tooth at the side coming the whole way through - oh I'm a harbinger of doom tonight, am ignoring Ponyo having finished her working week Grin

tadjennyp · 09/11/2011 21:37

Ledkr, I am glad the meeting went well for your ds. I am sorry Dilly is not being 'cooperative' sleep wise and I hope her tooth comes through soon. Worrying about serious ops for two of your children at the same time must be really tough on you. Be kind to yourself. x

Reastie, that woman treated you really harshly and you should quite frankly take no notice of her. I don't have any scales but I am pretty sure I haven't lost any weight for ages as I am still bfing S four to five times a day. Maintaining your weight is a step in the right direction and the exercise class will make you feel mentally much better anyway. You be kind to yourself too!

Well done to everyone who is shedding the lbs! You are an inspiration to the rest of us. Well done to everyone working as well. Only slightly Envy , well a lot actually! Deb, your ILs are a lovely couple, aren't they? Good luck to byron's dh's job search and lol at wiggles giraffe. Surely Sophie should be renamed in your honour? Wink

I hope you get through to the consultant soon hubbard and that needto's dh gives her a break soon.

A has to have a catch-up measles injection by the end of next week otherwise she will no longer be allowed to go to school. Shock Apparently it was missed in 2007 but I suspect the paperwork wasn't done properly. I've made the appointment and I really hope they have the vaccine there.

Before this gets too long and boring I will say hello to everyone else and apols to anyone I've missed.

janedoe25 · 10/11/2011 07:37

Morning girls,

I am trying to catch up but you are all to chatty and im too busy at the moment!

ledkr Im glad the meeting went well, I really hope your ds finds a match soon. One of my best friends had a kidney transplant when he was 10 and now needs it replaced, he is currently on dialysis waiting on a suitable donor.

reastie I am so Shock and angry with the ff lady, what a cow! I would stop going and just do what you feel comfortable with. I haven't lost any weight either despite me surving on soups and porridge! But I have lost inches as my jeans are now too big and falling down!

needto I am sorry things are so tough with dp still, remember look after you and Ben first. I really hope you can work through this though.

hubbard any luck woth the consultant?

wiggles Grin at the giraffe - how cute!

ponyo Sounds like Anya is very settled at nursery already! My baby mindee crys as soon as he sees mum or dad at pick up too.

Right I have to go now and set up for kids, hope you all have a good day. Grin

Deliaskis · 10/11/2011 09:19

Just popped on really quickly to say good morning, but awwww at BabyPonyo at nursery, how sweet, and at least you know she is fine when you're not there. My nursery once took a photo of a baby 35 seconds after her Dad had left her screaming, to prove that she was really fine as soon as he had gone.

D

americanexpat · 10/11/2011 12:29

hubbard - Surely they won't make you wait 6 months for an appt? This is a really critical time in F's development, waiting that long will be really detrimental. Not like an adult where 6 months is mostly an inconvenience. I hope you get something sorted soon.

needto - It is a really long road. DH and I still have rough patches and our relationship hasn't fully recovered. You have to do what's best for you and Ben and remember that, even though you've decided to work through it, you can always change your mind. You can PM me if you want to talk. I don't want to put too many details out in public.

reastie - the FF woman is ridiculous and she's really fitting the FF stereotype, isn't she? Angry All the pro-BFing literature says that BFing will help you lose weight but that's not the case for a lot of woman. Don't let her bully you into continuing if you don't want to.

byron - DH does work with mice and cancer but he's not Japanese. Grin Do you work on journals?

wiggles - Grin at the giraffe. My family is the same way re emotions, no sense hiding how you're feeling.

L's sleeping has been a nightmare. He was up 6 times the night before and 3 last night (had some paracetamol before bed). He must be teething because he had an absolutely vile nappy this morning. I'm starting to rethink his banana consumption. Hmm

debka · 10/11/2011 13:47

expat 6 times how are you still functioning woman??? Hope he improves soon. We've had some vile nappies too (so glad I put a disposable on her last night, it soaked through the babygro, and sleeping bag and onto the sheet!), do you think it's teething then?

jane not long now! Well done on the falling off jeans!!

I ordered 2 new bras yesterday which arrived today. OMG OMG OMG I feel like a NEW WOMAN. First time in a proper bra for 3 years, been in bloody badly fitting nursing bras since pg with Imy. My boobs look AMAZING!!! I keep flashing DH Grin

Deliaskis · 10/11/2011 13:55

Congrats Debka LittleMissNewBoobs I am insanely jealous, not cos of badly fitting bras, but because DH 'helpfully' chucked a load of my underwear (well just pants really) in the wash with The Wrong Colours, and they're all horrid grey. Need to buy many many many pairs of new knickers.

debka · 10/11/2011 14:03

Thanks delia

Angry at your DH

debka · 10/11/2011 14:04

(BTW delia the little part of my new name may not be strictly accurate Wink)

Deliaskis · 10/11/2011 14:25

I suppose on the upside, I get to go knicker shopping...

americanexpat · 10/11/2011 14:30

debka - I'm a bit Envy of your new bras. I think it's teething because I don't know what else it could be, no sign of illness, the paracetamol helped, seemed to want some comforting, etc. He's usually an OK sleeper, only waking when he's hungry then straight back to sleep. I don't know how I'm functioning, I tried to have a nap yesterday and couldn't shut my brain off.

Gotta run, he's just woken from a nap.

janedoe25 · 10/11/2011 16:00

debka Grin at you flashing dh he must thinking he is on to a good night!

8 sleeps until I Become mrs b and 9 until the "wedding". GrinGrinGrin Ian so so happy, god it's been such a long time since I said that!
delia boo to your dh washing attempts. I'm afraid to say on Jane towers I am the one who assaults the washing, I have managed to shrink half of df's tshirts. Oops.
