Sorry, I've jumped in with the new thread! Its been running through my head for the last week!

saoirse86 · 14/11/2011 16:06

Ooh, our family initials are SOM or MOS. That's not very interesting, maybe we should have twins called Oscar and Ella and then we can be MOOSE! Grin I'm not sure DP will get onboard with this just so I can buy a necklace that says moose! Hmm

beadit did you just say there are 11 sets of twins in your family?! Wow! I hope you're preparing for the possibility of a twinny pregnancy! In my family there's just me and aswalia, then my grandma had cousins who were triplets, that's as close as it gets. But DP has 4 uncles who are twins (as in two sets of twins) so he thinks we could end up with twins at some point. But I can never remember which bloodline it carries on down, or is it different for identical and non identical twins? Oh I don't know. Confused

I just found out why I can't get hold of my mum, it's because she's getting ready to go out on a date with an ex. She was with him for years before we were born and left when she found out he had been having an affair for a few years and had a baby with this other woman! Shock it's the kind of I would think you'd leave in the past, but she's a grown woman I suppose!

lumpylumps · 14/11/2011 16:17

Ha ha ha, love the MOOSE idea! Although I'm not sure I want one now. Not sure I want to give my business to someone who just changed the subject of my deepest feeling for my precious babies to a trivial hairstyle subject!!! Grin
5 years ago I had my lovely long locks chopped off in favour of dodgy bob after dodgy bob after dodgy bob! Until my friend gave me an asymmetrical bob. Loved it! I'm growing it again now tho. I say do it!!! you can always grow it again if you don't like it & if you have a good hairdresser it'll be fine!

non identical, skips a generation and runs through the male. Usually although with 11 sets I reckon anything goes in beadys family! My mums an identical twin!

OP posts:
cinnamongreyhound · 14/11/2011 16:35

My mum is a twin too but not identical as she had a twin brother! Wow we really do have a lot of twins on this thread!!!!! Hmmm.... not very good with anagrams mine would be CIAJL in kind of family order, must be able to make something with that. I was just thinking of having J and L though, with space for another just in case Wink, but undecided if I want a necklace or braclet Confused

I think it does make it easier when they're very different saoirse86, mine are total polar opposites! I think it would also be easier if they were different sexes but it was obviously not to be!! I agree with you about your mum but having said that the sister of one of my mums (so my minded little boys autine) had a baby with a man, found out he had another child only a few weeks younger Shock so left him. She took him back and they had two other children together and are now married and have been together 12 years (not including the gap) and his daughter from the affair spends most of her time with them so who knows!

Went to ds1's nhs speech therapy today for parent training, he will get 4 weeks and then have to wait 10 weeks for another 4 weeks grrrrrr Angry. I am so glad I started the private therapy (and that my dad is paying Wink) or I would be so frustrated! How are you getting on with your ds1 lumpylumps?

beaditAli · 14/11/2011 17:20

Yeahsaoirse 11!! And no IVF in sight! The last 4 sets born have gone like this: Identical Boys (John and Brian), Identical boys (Philip and John), non identical girls(Hazel and Alison..Moi), identical girls (Jessica and Amy) so not so many in the last decade really ........ I wouldn't mind if I had twins as I've always thought 3 DCs would be lovely so I'd get to save on a pregnancy and a labour!!! Grin
Lumpy forgive me pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeease??

TROL Grin Wink Grin

lumpylumps · 14/11/2011 18:32

Hmmm, might do! your necklace/bracelet may turn onto a sept thread theme, you, me, cinnamon & saoirse like a secret handshake!! 3 would be lovely but I'd worry about the middle one. especially after what i've just said about 2!!!

Ds1s doing a lot better since he started at nursery. He still really struggles with Ls and we get d instead of th eg in der not in there and f instead of th free not three but these are all the common ones! Thanks for asking!

Cinnamon JAIL (C)!!

newmum001 · 14/11/2011 21:02

cinnamongreyhound · 14/11/2011 21:07

Why is it so hard not to eat?!?!? I've been very good and am proud of myself but I think about junk food all day :(. Can't wait until Thursday to check if/how much I have lost and hope it will spur me on!

saoirse86 · 14/11/2011 21:37

Oh cinnamon I know! I started making sure DP and I didn't buy any crappy food but I have days (like the last few days) where I'd give my right arm for a packet of crisps... or a biscuit (yes I even fantasise about my crappy gluten free ones!)... or a piece of chocolate... Have I made you even more hungry now? Wink
I just keep having another cupt of tea instead but it's just not enough Sad
I haven't lost even a quarter of a pound for at least 6 months, I know I'll never be my pre-pregnancy weight again but I just want to lose 4 more pounds. I'm sure christmas won't help!

beaditAli · 14/11/2011 23:04

Whoever wants help with flab fighting come and make jewellery in my loft!!! Something about the room that you stay there for hours on end (lumpy did you ever venture that far upstairs??) and if you need food or even a nice sweet cuppa you have 2 flights of stairs to go down and then obviously the same to get back up! [tired even thinking of it emoticon]
I eat rubbish a lot but have also lost a load of weight since Jack Confused
I weighed myself a month before he arrived and I think I was 13st 11lbs Shock and I'm now 9st 10lbs Grin......... I swear it's my stair cases!! Grin

Why as it only just occurred to me to get a kettle upstairs??....... oh yeah.... milk would go rank. Oh what an exciting life I lead! Biscuit

saoirse86 · 14/11/2011 23:17

Mini fridge!

Debs75 · 14/11/2011 23:23

Our initials would be DBGJLR so nothing fun there.

I only lose weight when pregnant so I will be a middle aged lard-ass for quite a while now. Usually I don't really mind, I have never been slim so have nothing to spur me like too small clothes. Plus Evans has some nice stuff so no sack-wearing for me. I need to lose weight to keep me fit and healthy but am too halfarsed about it.

beaditAli · 14/11/2011 23:28

Wish I could afford one saoirse
Yours would be like a B A Baracus necklace Debs Grin Grin

cinnamongreyhound · 15/11/2011 07:28

Or powdered milk? I was a chunky child and went to slimming world with my mum at 16 and lost 3 stone. When I moved out at 18 I put on 9 stone in a year ending up at 18 1/2 and size 26 Shock. I lost weight again at about 23 and was just over 13 stone and was happy but have gone up and down between that and 15 1/2 stone since then and it's not good! I also lose weight when pregnant debs75, just wish I'd had the will power to keep it off. I teach the boys good eating habits and keep their portions small but am not so good for me, oh well! Good luck saoirse86!

beaditAli · 15/11/2011 08:14

I can't believe it's possible to lose weight when pregnant Shock I think I must have just ate and ate and ate for 9 months Blush

cinnamon what's the thing/toy/activity that occupies your brood for the longest? I need some new games to play!

patito · 15/11/2011 09:37

Beadit i love the cut. Think you should go for it. I had my hair cut off some yrs ago now and have gone between elf-ish crop and bob. Bobs are very pretty but a bit harder to keep, like newmum said not long enough to tie back but not short enough to leave. I grow mine into a bob for a while and then when im bored of keeping it have it cut off again. I think I suit v. short hair best though, although sometimes I dream of long flowing femine locks Confused. Not to be had as I have poker straight thin hair!

Lumps Know what you mean about second child. Ive clicked with Maia but I do wonder about the time I spend with her, it´s so different and not nearly as intense as with DS. Thats the way it is as she has to share me with him (ifyswi?). Im a 2nd though and actually feel it´s probably the best postion, not the first spolit one or the last "baby". Well it makes me feel better to think that way Smile

Maia has started to "talk" so much more over the last few days and copies loads of words, her latest is "go car go" from a little rhyme book we have.

patito · 15/11/2011 09:45

Just realised id missed reading half the posts.

Ours would be RRSM, MSRR (isn´t that that nasty super bug? Or maybe that mssr oh I dont know.)

Debs75 · 15/11/2011 09:47

Beadit I lost 57lbs with dd2 and 20ishlbs with Lucy. I was realy overweight with Robyn and I just cut out all fatty rubbish and ate more fruit and veg. I totally went off chocloate which helped. I think I have put most of it back on but at least my dress size is roughly the same

cinnamongreyhound · 15/11/2011 10:02

I was sick for the first 3 months and then as the baby got bigger my space for eating got smaller! Plus I totally lost my desire for anything sweet which really helped beaditAli. Toys wise I highly recommend happyland from ELC, Luke most puts the people in the cars and pushes the cars but I have kids from almost 3-8 and they all play with it for a long time! Build bricks are great too, I have megablocks for littlies, although bigger ones play too, duplo and lego and it always keeps them entertained. ELC do great stacking rings where they don't have to get them in the right order to fit on, any posting/sorting things are Luke's favourite still. My little kitchen is good too that's from ELC aswell, perhaps I should have shares! Wooden train set, although I need more track to stop the fighting, cars of any kind and pushchairs with babies. Playdoh but I find have to pay close attention to them all or it's everywhere!

Luke has a high temperature and isn't himself so my minded little girl didn't come today and it's just us until 3.15 again. He fell asleep on the way back from school this morning so he must be poorly :(

saoirse86 · 15/11/2011 11:12

I put on 3.5 stone when I was pregnant. I was only sick twice and didn't really have any nausea, I was just very hungry. I'm still hanging onto that last stone.

cinnamon some great ideas for Christmas presses, thanks! I must sell some stuff to get some money together, Christmas seems to be approaching far too quickly! Confused
I hope Luke feels better soon. I must admit a part of me quite liked orlaith's illness causing sleepiness Blush but the sleepiness has now carried on for over 2 weeks and I'm getting seriously bored with being indoors so much, especially as it's dark so early.

This morning I gave orlaith a book while I got her clothes ready and she started pretending to read it. She was turn the pages and doing her usual chatter but in a storytelling voice, so cute! Grin

lumpylumps · 15/11/2011 20:01

Patito MRSA!

beady we have lots of happyland stuff too. both the boys love it!

Cinnamon without being rude, How did you manage to put on 9st in a year? Thats good going! If I put my mind to it I'm not too bad with the eating, its the exercise I struggle with. Well, I don't struggle with it, I just don't do it!!! Grin

OP posts:
newmum001 · 15/11/2011 20:20

Don't even talk about diets I'm seriously struggling. I lost 5 stone about 8 years ago and mostly kept it off. I went up and down by a stone which didn't bother me and I lost about 2 stone when I was pregnant with hyperemisis so was a skinny minnie for the first few months but I got back to my regular weight by the end but have put 2 and a half stone on since! I lost half a stone a few weeks ago but the crisps and chocolate came calling again so that's gone back on! My problem is that I eat when I'm bored which is every day really haha!

cinnamongreyhound · 15/11/2011 20:40

Looking back it is quite amazing lumpylumps, I passed my driving test, went on the pill, moved out of home so had no money and ate cheaply =junk and started eating meat again. Now I make a shepards pie for the 5 of us with 250g of mince I used to make one for two of us with 500g and we'd eat it all with a tin of beans followed by a 500ml tub of Ben and jerry's EACH Hmm

Dss's grandad died Sunday night (not sure if I posted), he wasn't too upset really but stayed off school yesterday. Dh spoke to his ex last night and she's staying with her mum until the funeral, they don't have a date yet, and doesn't want dss back until then. :( for him as he wants to see his mum but also can't say she doesn't want you and don't want him to think we're keeping him from her :(

Luke has eaten almost nothing all day and other than sleeping he's spent the entire day on my lap. Went to dr and she said he has a very red throat and to keep going with the calpol, not to worry he's not eating and he'll get better. His ears and chest are clear and I assume it's not tonsilitis as I didn't get antibiotics so just hope he's better soon.

cinnamongreyhound · 15/11/2011 20:44

It's so hard newmum001 and I think you have to be mentally ready or it doesn't work. I eat when I'm bored, sad, happy, because it's there and any other reason but several things over the last few weeks have made me ready to do something about what I can only describe as binge eating!!
