I'd say a night in with wine and chocolate is worse as at least when ur out your moving about and burning some calories off!

Grace is 5 1/2 G her feet are huge!

Off to a 1st birthday party this afternoon with a severe hang over! What fun!

Debs75 · 22/01/2012 14:10

Cinnamon your dc's must have super growing feet. DD2's have just grown to a 9 but she was just uinder an 8 since last May. SHe wasn't impressed with never growing and never getting new shoes, she is a shoe diva like her mummy and I think Lucy will be, she played with her shoes non-stop after getting them off her feet

lumpylumps · 22/01/2012 16:57

Beady be careful with the offers to take the children. She's just lost her dad & husband in very unexpected & tragic circumstances. She may want to keep her children close.

Found out on Thurs that my friend (who had IVF) is having a girl! A lovely little wife for Olly! couldn't be better!

There have a been a ton of cars outside her house all day today so she definitely has a good bunch of family around her at the mo. Would it be bad to make a piece of jewellery with all her children/husband and her initials on??? Just thinking I'd do it much later on but is it perhaps a bad idea full stop or a good one?? I don't know.
Word is that the ECG showed he had a condition called Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome which could have triggered off his fall but the main cause of death was the bleed on his brain. Revolting details really so don't read the next bit if you're squeamish...... his brain was so swollen that they couldn't put his skull back after surgery. Sad Sad Sad

Oooooooophhhhhh..... just can't stop feeling for the poor girl and her kids.
DH didn't really help this afternoon when he was painting our window frames (inside) and fell whilst the girl mentioned was on her doorstep (opposite our window) Shock
Very swiftly closed the blinds!

Having our place valued this week as have seen an amazing but ramshackle place with a field for a garden...... literally! We are, of course wishful thinking but hey... I could live in a shed for 3 years to have a garden like that! Smile

Hope everyone's had a fab weekend Smile

sassy34264 · 22/01/2012 21:00

oh, beadit thats awful. i think the jewellery is a good idea in principle but it would make me break down. i would love it though, so perhaps its something for weeks after the funeral.

im having a mixed weekend. my milk supply is not good and ive had to resort to formula to top up 3 times. but i have started expressing. (i can almost taste my freedom Wink )

and also, eva rolled over an hour ago from her front to her back. she was only 3months, 3 days ago, so i think she is quite young to be doing that yet, but cant remember when j&i did it?!

thing that makes it more remarkable though,is we hardly ever put her on the floor cos of j&i. so she has literally only been on it, on her front a handful of times.

sassy34264 · 22/01/2012 21:03

well done too cinnamon

meant to say it earlier when you said you had lost over 2 stones but i forgot. Blush

im eating like a horse at minute trying to get this milk up. 2 pork chops and a full small cauliflower for dinner. Blush

Don't forget to rest as much as you can sassy34264, I found being tired really affected my milk supply.

MammyG · 22/01/2012 22:00

Hey beadit Im so sorry for you and your friend. Unfortunately I have experience of two friends being widowed young. For the newxt few weeks just be there. Bring some food but not too much as everyone will bring stuff and her fridge will heave. She will need people to do practical things - cleaning washing etc. If you know her well enough to be around her house just muck in. Talk to her family and they will let you know what can be done. Mostly just physically be there for her. She will talk when she needs to and just needs loads of support. The necklace is a beautiful idea but down the line. She is lucky to have ye around.

Ok so am going to start running this week and reeling in my sweet tooth. Im a disaster!! Desperately need to change - not just to get back to my own clothes but DH warns me I am heading for type 2 diabetes (its in the family) if I keep going the way I am. I hate to admit that it is possible!!!
Had a nice lazy weekend with my kids. Popcorn and hot chocolate night last night and dress up day today. im a lucky mammy - taking time out to realise and enjoy that is a nice leittly gift to myself.

BangWentMyTriangle · 23/01/2012 08:25

I think I'll make one ready and give it way after Valentine's Day. Going to get some colouring books for the kids and whatever else might help keep them entertained for a while...... wish I could cook for her but I think the supermarket's offerings are a safer bet.
She's put a wedding pic of her and her DH on FB today...... serious blubbing ensued but it made me think that she's reading her messages of support on there so she'll know she has a lot of support from our local community.

Major well dones on the weight loss!! Wonder how newmum is going. You're all very determined! Envy

newmum001 · 23/01/2012 09:25

Newmum had a very boozy weekend which resulted in 2 take aways being devoured. Gonna have to be extra good this week and I might give it a couple of weeks till I weigh myself now although I've lost 4 1/2 pounds so far which isn't as much as I'd like but I suppose it's going the right way!

Strange question but any ideas why grace keeps walking on her tip toes? She doesn't do it all the time but she does seem to be doing it a fair bit! Never when she's got shoes on though!

No idea why, but every girl I have childminded under 3 has done it newmum001!

newmum001 · 23/01/2012 12:23

I'm thinking it's probably because she's bloody nosey so trying to make herself taller in order to see stuff/grab stuff!

newmum chloe always walked on her tip toes until quite recently- earning her the nickname princess tippy toes. isobel does it too. no idea why? i used to say to chloe, walk properly, put your whole foot down!

lumpylumps · 23/01/2012 17:33

Dear Olly!

I love you very very much. you're a cheeky happy little boy who gives lovely cuddles & make me smile everyday.
Why, tho, if I cook you a lovely meal that you don't like, do you insist on putting it in your mouth, chewing it, say mmmmmm then proceed to pebble dash the kitchen with it?!

PACK IT IN!!!

Lots of love Mummy xxxxx

Newmum it can be a sensory thing and it is often easier for them to balance on their tiptoes

MammyG I had gestational diabetes with my ;last 2 pregnancies and the dieticial said I would probably get diabetes 10 years earlier then I should do if I don't change my eating habits. It's really hard for me as I use food for everything, happy, sad, celebrating, bored, ill. Me and DP are trying harder but it is slow going. WE are also going to try the couch 2 5K thing but do it slower than 9 weeks. It might take me till the end of the year but we need to do something rather than play on the computer or watch TV, we are tuirning into DP's grandparents.

Sassy You have had 3 babies in less than 2 years so your body will be screaming for a rest. If your supply feels low then always offer before giving formula. The more you offer and the more she feeds the quicker your supply will boost. I can imagine it is really hard finding time to feed with J and I running around. Also night feeds are great foir boosting your supply, not waht you want to hear when you are shattered during the day but if you can fit in a feed during the night it will help.
If however you want to slow down then do it gently and slowly so you don't get engorged. Good Luck

cinnamongreyhound · 24/01/2012 09:30

Diabetes was one of my big fears due to the amount of sugary food I was eating Debs75. The C25K is really doable, I never thought I'd be running for as long as I am (2x3 mins and 2x5mins at the moment) and I really am not fit. I found out about it on this thread and there are all sorts of women doing it for all different reasons on there so join us if you start Grin

MammyG · 24/01/2012 13:05

Ok got on the treadmill last night. Its a motivator when you can feel your backside going up and down behind you!!! Am sore today but happier. My eating is always an issue and sugar/choc the biggest issue. I find that the more I exercise the more I naturally cut back without feeling deprived. Hoping that tactic still works.
We see wee ones coming into school and walking and running on their tiptoes. I always joke that they are practicing for high heels!! (apparently its important to get them to walk properly tho as hamstrings or something will not lengthen enough)

newmum001 · 24/01/2012 16:04

She walks fine most of the time just noticed over the past coupld of weeks she's on her tip toes a bit!

I have literally not sat down today! There's just always something to do, washing, cleaning, tidying, playing, cooking, bums to change, mouths to feed etc. I was so bloody organised this morning and still ended up running round like a blue arsed fly this afternoon! On the bright side I'm off for a spa day on friday with my mum and sister and I can't bloody wait!

OMG My poor Phoebs. Her bum is raw!! Its been acting up the past week while 3-4 more teeth break through including an eye tooth!! but it totally erupted yesterday. Its blistered!! And she is being so good about it. just goes really still when I am changing her - the boys would have howled the house down! Im giving her calpol though during the day and before bed cause she is out of sorts. Between my pain at having a tooth out and hers at cutting them they have taken over our lives!!! Damn Gnashers!

newmum001 · 25/01/2012 19:32

Mammy have you tried bepanthen nappy rash cream? Grace has really bad acid poos when she's teething and it's the only thing that clears it up when it blisters. Hope she's better soon
