Want to pick your brains, Luke has had a cold since Saturday, Sunday and Monday were the worst days with high temp and very clingy. Fine tues and weds but still snotty and coughing. Thursday he was a nightmare, everything was wrong, cried loads would leave me alone and didn't eat a lot then Friday he was sick in the early hours. He was the same all day not a happy boy, not eating a lot and then he woke up this morning just after 6 crying and had been sick again. Both days he wanted milk straight away as usual and yesterday had all of his breakfast. I thought yesterday it could be all the phlegm and coughing but his cough is almost gone and he was still sick this morning. Plus when I was sick when pregnant there was never anything there in the morning, worrying that it's a sign he's not digesting his food properly. Also in the last two weeks his eczema has flared up and he's scratching a lot I've put it down to the weather but worrying now that it's related to some intolerance. He was tested for lots of foods on the EAT study and had no allergies to any. So horrible finding your baby in a pool of sick, obviously not just done it either and hadnt cried before as dh was awake and he'd heard nothing. Hoping it is just a side effect of the cold and will go away, any thoughts?

saoirse86 · 10/12/2011 10:32

cinnamon orlaith has had a bad cold and her little bit of eczema and impetigo have flared up. I had just thought that was because she was run down. But she hasn't been sick at all. Although imara has had a bad cold too and has been sick. I'd just go to a gp for peace of mind if nothing else. Xmas Smile

sassy I'll have a look out for you.

beadit I think I love you! Xmas Grin

lumpylumps · 10/12/2011 11:30

Cinnamon a few weeks ago Olly wasn't very well. couldn't put my finger on it but I found him in sick 3 times over the space of about a week. Always early morning or last thing at night. There was always something in it. I sometimes wonder if they get a bit of a bug that just lingers. It takes them a little while to get over it. As for the Eczema, its funny you should mention it cos I've just noticed that Tobys has flared up a bit. I'm blaming the weather. I would just keep an eye on him over the weekend & if he doesn't pick up get him checked out.

I'm really having a nightmare with Olly and food. He used to pretty much eat anything now the selection is getting smaller & smaller. He'll soon only be eating shreddies & fruit!

Debs75 · 11/12/2011 09:39

Sassy there is a woman near me who has a triple pram it is a double side by side with one in front in a triangle shape. It looks mahoosive but I have seen her on a bus with it. Next time I see her I will ask her where she got it from. The local pram shop also doestriple lie-flat buggies as well and cheaper then this one
Just seen this one on ebay It runs out just after dinner so you will need to be quick

another one
out of your price range but I have the double of this and it is great
a bit cheaper here
yes another one
and another
Quite a selection there, my favourite is the peg perego as it is the most versatile and you would be able to get into most places with that. You do feel like you are driving a bus though

saoirse86 · 11/12/2011 11:03

I had pm'd sassy with some triple prams Debs! But she said she didn't want an inline one so the peg perego one won't work. It's amazing that there aren't more triples around because it does seem quite common for people to need them. someone really needs to get designing a not too big one that's not ridiculously heavy, they'd make a fortune! That one that finishes this evening is quite near to me so I offered to collect it and then she could arrange a courier, but I had a quick look and it'd be over £70 by courier! Xmas Shock
I asked on the pushchairs section and it looks like the recommendations are this one (over £1000 new!), this one (probably similar price), or this one (an absolute bargain at just £600!).

cinnamongreyhound · 11/12/2011 13:57

Loving how much Debs75 and saoirse86 are enjoying looking for a triple for you sassy34264. I will be in a similar situation in June with a 3 1/2 year old, luke, 1 year old and 9 month old. I reckon the 9 month old can go in my sling for a while and it's only 2 days a week but I'm keeping my eye out for triples. There is a lady near me who has twins ad was pregnant again when they were 4 months and she has two next to each other and one in front, very snazzy! She also has a 7, 5 and 3 year old and always has her mum or nan with her, very well known in our town :)

Luke was not sick this morning but let deliberately gagging everytime I out a spoon near his mouth last night for dinner :(

Debs75 · 11/12/2011 17:23

Saoirse I don't like the first one it looks like you have plonked a seat on top of the hood. The 2nd one is like the one I see near us. If it was me I would probably go for a really good triple lie-flat buggy as they are generally cheaper but then they do tend to be wide. Poor Sassy I don't envy you a difficult choice

Debs75 · 11/12/2011 17:41

Oh I got my train tickets as well.
£14.25 per person each way. With insurance and booking fee it works out at £89.50. A huge saving of £368. And way less then the returns were at £91 each. Looking forward to going now.

saoirse86 · 11/12/2011 18:12

I think the reason people say the abc (with the seat on top) is best is because it's the narrowest type where all 3 seats have a proper recline. I saw one in town once and was amazed at how it didn't seem that big IRL and the woman pushing didn't look too short for it either. I know that's what I'd get if I needed one and could find a cheap enough one! Those side by side stroller types are a lot cheaper though so maybe I'd be more likely to get one of those! Xmas Wink

We went to get a tree today and they had a section of mini trees which are free for children and £5 for adults so we orlaith got one of those too! I feel very christmassy now! Xmas Grin

saoirse86 · 12/12/2011 10:15

So I see on fb that newmum is having Christmas decoration trouble and so are we! We put ours inside the playpen because Orlaith was stealing baubles but she's still managing it. The playpen's just not high enough so she can reach the branches that are sticking out. Every time I walk in I find her quickly trying to shove them back so I won't notice! I'm thinking I must just get rid of the playpen and let her loose on it! Xmas Grin

newmum001 · 12/12/2011 15:02

Saoirse grace hasn't been too bad with the tree, she was frightened of it at first but she's ok now. She picked one bauble off it so I told her firmly no (which never usually works) but she's left it alone ever since. She's obsessed with my mini decorative tree that's on the windowsil and has broken the star on the top of it already and no amount of telling her no is making any difference!

comixminx · 12/12/2011 20:48

Ha ha! I met up with my SIL today picking up clothes for A (got a good haul, very useful!) - we don't have a tree but they do, and Aphra picked the baubles off several times, kept coming back to it even after I steered her away and tempted her with various of her cousin's toys.

cinnamongreyhound · 12/12/2011 21:41

We haven't got ours up yet, we always get a real one and we didn't have dss this weekend so we're doing it next but Luke came over to me earlier looking very proud of himself holding a bauble from my mums tree, it's going to be a long couple of weeks Confused

MammyG · 12/12/2011 22:14

Hello ladies!!
sorry for not being on in a while. im trying to catch up!! We moved out of our house the week before last while work is being done. With delays etc we wont be back til the weekend and internet connection here is shocking. Im up the walls with work etc and sorting things between two houses. Wont have decorations up at home til next weekend which is horrible for me as I LOVE xmas and would be a 1st of dec person. Dont feel xmasy at all this year! Think DHs illness etc put everything out of whack. We went away for a night this weekend and it was super. Nice to just be us. He is so stressed at the moment between not feeling 100% and work is hanging in the balance.
It was nice to have him relax.
Ive had a rough-ish run with everyone sick, house move/work, job and generally stupid ass family stuff. Topped by a pregnancy scare that Im not sure Im out of the clear of yet! Really cant cope with another so fingers crossed.
Phoebe is doing well - real rogue. She has gotten harder to feed but bless her has been snotty and sick on off for weeks between colds and teeth. She didnt have her first tooth til her first birthday (22 sept) and now has 7! Plus they are popping out randomly all over her mouth! Kinda strange but she looks adorable.
Anyway -will go and read over but will hopefully be back on soon.

Debs75 · 12/12/2011 22:52

We have our tree up and dd2 and Lucy are a nightmare. They are forever taking baubles off and I am putting them back on all day long. They will learn soon enough so I am a bit halfhearted about telling them off.

saoirse86 · 13/12/2011 11:32

Sorry to hear things are so stressful for you MammyG and I hope things settle down a bit when you get back into the house and you can have a nice Xmas. Xmas Smile and I can't believe Phoebe has so many teeth in such a short time. We still have just 5 but I feel like we should be due another one soon. Xmas Hmm

So you know how my PILs drive me mad? Well FIL is always getting involved in our life and interfering. He just turned up with two men who he says are going to re-landscape our garden. The flippin' cheek! Shock And to make it worse, I have been really tired today as Orlaith didn't go to sleep till 10.30 and woke up several times after that. So I was still in my pyjamas and generally looking a state. At the absolute least he could have called and mentioned he was coming over! Angry

saoirse86 · 13/12/2011 11:38

Oh and he wiped orlaith's nose with his own (clearly) dirty hanky! Yuk!

newmum001 · 13/12/2011 12:59

Bloody hell saoirse I'd be fuming. Never mind phoning first it's not his garden therefore it's non of his business. I hope he's going to be paying for it.

Mammy so sorry things are a bit shit for you atm! Hopefully your house will be sorted soon and you can all get back to normal.

saoirse86 · 13/12/2011 13:25

He is actually going to be paying for it, but from my experience he does things like that to a) show off how much money he has and b) so he feels he can have more control over things. It seriously pisses me off that he's had more influence on what has happened in this house than I have. But the most annoying thing is DP doesn't say anything to him about it, or about anything else for that matter! Angry DP and I will be having words about this when he gets home.

newmum001 · 13/12/2011 13:56

Can you not say anything to him or would it cause to much trouble? I know from my own experience that if it was my family I wouldn't think twice about telling them to back off but I find it difficult being like that with dp's family and usually get him to speak to them. I think he was lucky not to get the door shut in his face to be honest!

The HV who visited us when grace was first born has just pulled up in front of our house (a girl down the street just had a baby) and grace chose the exact moment she got out of the car to fall head first over the arm of the chair that's in the window!
