PenguinArmy · 01/12/2011 14:40

sorry that made me laugh sassy

since these threads last maybe when we start the next one, you can ask for the post with your RL name to be deleted?

What we can do is set up a closed Oct group on fb for pictures etc. If people are interested I can start one?

sassy34264 · 01/12/2011 15:04

yes, start one. i have one for the sept 10 mumsnet friends but i dont know how to do it. very techno phobe im afraid. i hate to fill my limited brain space with new stuff thats technical. Smile

emmazed · 01/12/2011 15:19

we have yet to have an exploding poos yet, but i can see it is just a matter of time. J is 10 llbs (at 6 weeks) but he can't fit in the reusable nappies yet, i think his legs are too skinny as the wee just leeks out. i tried to move him to size 2 pampers and had the same problem. he is long though, so many of the 0-3 month close are too short. his arms stick out like they are 3/4 length and they are tight when he straightens his legs. i think i need to get the his 3-6 month clothes out, which i can't believe.

i discovered the reason J was sleeping so much the other day - he has his first cold. he is so congested poor little thing. he is being very brave although his sleeping and eating is all over the place. we were kind of in a routine before, i guess when he is feeling a bit better we may get back on to it. he was sleeping until about 5/6ish but now he wakes at 2.30am instead... i feel so sad for him he looks so confused about why he can no longer breathe easily

i am still bleeding from the birth - i dont think it is my period as i haven't had a gap. i presume 6 weeks is still ok and i dont need to worry

sweet photos penguin, they look so gorgeous together

GroovyRach · 01/12/2011 15:29

A closed group on fb would be a great idea!

BB3 · 01/12/2011 16:14

Oooh I like idea of fb group although have no idea how to do it! Grin

Edward have a great christmassy day, Grin at missile poos, the girls did them when they were a few weeks old and would pop, miss the clothes but get the carpet / bed!) Hmm

We've been Xmas shopping today and I think I'm finally getting there but do need to collate everything in one place so I can check rarer than it being dotted all over the house. Girls will be 3 months at Xmas so have got them a few Lamaze activity toys and some keepsake bits. Ds hasnt got too much actually but sure he'll be fine with his lot. Just a few more family and friends to get then it's job done and wrapping starts! Xx

BB3 · 01/12/2011 16:16

Oh and don't be jealous of gym - I had a session this morning with my trainer who decided to do 'density' training with me. The backs of my arms and leg muscles hurt soooo bad!!! Confused

PenguinArmy · 01/12/2011 16:53

I've made one called Oct 2011 - Enjoying our bundles

For now it is open. Last time we did it, we left it open for people to join and then made it a secret group. How do people feel about that option? Otherwise we can close it now and sort out members via private messages.

OP posts:
TallyBear · 01/12/2011 17:20

Found it - request made...

TallyBear · 01/12/2011 17:21

PenguinArmy · 01/12/2011 17:24

OP posts:
TallyBear · 01/12/2011 17:24

Laying on sofa with curtains open and no heating on as seb fast asleep on my lap wrapped in blankets. Can't bring myself to disturb him, although i will pay tonight. he didn't slept much yesterday and then slept from 10.30 - 4am!! i'm guessing there will not be a repeat of that now!

MrsP81 · 01/12/2011 18:49

I've requested to join the FB group! Will catch up on posts later.

GroovyRach · 01/12/2011 20:02

I've requested too!! As you will soon see, my mn name is nothing like my real name! I vote for a private group. It's nice that it will be just us. Been through it all together Smile

bilblio · 01/12/2011 21:15

I've joined fb group now too. We'll have to put something on there once it's private so we know who's who.

Tally Babies make great hot water bottles don't they. My mum says I'm creating a rod for my back cuddling Seth so much, but he likes being cuddled and I like being warm. :o

He's getting better at being put down though so long as he's wrapped up warm.

I've had a really good day today. I really want to go and help in DD's class while I'm on maternity leave but I don't want to leave Seth. I've spoken to the teacher and she's more than happy for me to bring him in, especially as he sleeps so much. There's only 17 in DD's class, today it was Christmas Craft day and a lot of parents were helping, so this afternoon we went across, I gave Seth a good feed first and he spent the rest of the afternoon sleeping in his carrycot in a corner of the room. I was more concerned about the class being distracted, but they were fine. So hopefully I'll be able to go across more often, while he's still sleeping so much anyway.

Right back to the back tapping. It's his awake/windy time now, I spend hours tapping his back in the evening. He rarely cries, but pulls pained faces. Yesterday we finally cracked open the gripe water. I'm resisting the temptation to drink it myself. I Love the stuff :o

Trudyla · 01/12/2011 21:50

Hey ladies,

haven't been on for ages. F is so colicky and cries every evening for ages. I feel so, so sorry for him Sad

Will try and catch up now and then post more regularly.

Will also try and join FB group. Should be nice to share some piccies. We have a secret group with my July 2010 buddies for my DD and it's working well. I normally don't have an FB account, but have created one for the July group, so will try and join this group now. Thanks for setting it up!

See you all later.

Fleecy · 01/12/2011 21:53

Have just caught up on thread and have requested to join the group. My initials are EN.

DD2 slept through 2 nights ago which was amazing given that a week earlier she had been up from 3am yelling and had screamed from 5pm-1am the following evening Grin No idea what that was all about! She's usually going from 11-4/5 then back down for another couple of hours so quite good here but not as good as groovyrach!

She still won't settle in the evenings though. Have just put her down having held her for a couple of hours following a good feed. Still, one thing at a time and the cuddles are nice! Was supposed to be going out tomorrow night for a few hours but DH is working and I won't be able to leave DD if I can't put her down so I have declined. Have another night planned for 2wks time so will start working on bringing bedtime forward...

LittlePebble · 01/12/2011 21:56

Have requested to join the group. Off to try and get some sleep before Eli realises he's hungry again!

Fleecy · 01/12/2011 21:57

Cross posted there - sorry about F. My nephew was the same and my sis found it really hard but he grew out of it and is now one of the happiest little babies I've ever met. A real sunny and contented little boy. I know it seems like it's going on forever at the time though Sad

CheshireDing · 01/12/2011 22:42

I have just joined the fb group. Will put a pic on shortly.

EdwardorEricCantDecide · 02/12/2011 05:22

So do we not chat here anymore? Do we just use FB?
Sorry this is the first of these threads I've bn on, didn't discover MN till ds was about 1.5th

Trudyla · 02/12/2011 06:30

edward On my other thread we just use FB for posting pictures and private information. We still use MN for the main daily chats.

I have requested to join. My FB name is similar to this one, initials TN.

I hope nobody minds that I'm gonna wait till the group is secret before posting photos. Me, and especially DP are very cautious about posting photos on the internet, so I prefer to wait till then.

Wow, shit night here. F's screams woke up DD all the time, so we had two unsettled babies in the house and two exhausted parents. DP keeps telling me that we should try formula and that my milk might be wrong for him cos he has such a bad reaction after each feed. I'm reluctant though cos breastfeeding has been so easy this time and I do think my milk should be right for my baby, but maybe I'm wrong. Clearly he is not right and he is suffering and I have no idea what else to try. Will speak to the midwife again this afternoon.

edward We've had a few explosive poos here but we got those with DD as well. (one time it hit the wall behind us, around 2 metres away) (TMI anyone Xmas Grin)

Boys are a different matter with the whole changing them thing though aren't they? Sooo much harder to clean. F has also taken to poo everywhere as soon as the nappy is off. While I clean that up he usually pukes on his sleepsuit and while I'm taking that off, he pees in a big arch all over the changing table. There is no such thing as a quick change with this one Xmas Grin

Well, the night is nearly over. Makes me feel loads better. I hate nights. During the day everything is and seems easier.

Hope you all have good days.

Penelope1980 · 02/12/2011 07:03

I just wrote a massive post that I think I've lost! Bugger.

Oh well. I hope everyone is well - have been offline for quite a few days but am happy to be catching up now. I'll look for the FB group as well, be good to share pics and use my own name! Which has nothing to do with the name Penelope, although I was born in 1980. I'm not terribly good at making up user names.

I have had a number of explosive poos this week as well! I also have a sick baby which makes me feel sorry for him, poor lad. He's sleeping alot, then waking up quite distressed so hopefully will get better soon.

Penelope1980 · 02/12/2011 07:07

I've just asked to join anyway - good idea having a group altho would be good to make it private later.

Oh and Amotai has grown loads since being born, he's now 13.2 lbs at 8 weeks - was 7.7lbs at birth. He'll be in 3 - 6 months stuff before too long at this rate!

Jnice · 02/12/2011 07:13

Hello all! I have requested to join FB group too. Finding it hard to keep up on here, having a read now.

HandDivedScallopsrgreat · 02/12/2011 08:25

Hello all. Sorry I have been off line for about 2 weeks. Went up to see parents 2 weeks ago and still here! Had a bit oif a disaaarster (Craig Revel-Horwood style!).

DS1 got a cold which the rest of the family got including DS2. By day 4 of the cold DS2 wasn't getting any better - in fact was worse. My Mum suggested going to doctors. DH was back home by this stage (200 miles away) supposed to be doing some DIY but in fact recovering from cold!!

So went to "Urgent Care" unit at local hospital thinking I was overreacting. No. DS2 has bronchiolitis so we get whipped into hospital. Finally got let out on Wednesday evening - 6 days later. High point of the stay was me swearing at the nurse for waking me up at 8am after about 3hrs kip. Tbf I didn't swear at her just at the ridiculous policy of having to put the beds away 1st thing (even though the previous day the bed had stayed down all day and the previous 4 days no-one had woken me up and I had slept til gone 9). I don't do hospitals well!

DS2 is recovering slowly but still breathing hard, having coughing fits and snacking rather than feeding. DH came back up to parents and then took DS1 home with him to save my Mum's sanity. She is great but in her 70's so a toddler is knackering. Never been without DS1 for this long Sad

He was weighed last Friday after admission to hospital (4 wks old at that stage) and had put on 300g in 10 days which I didn't think was bad. But looking at all the weight gains here it was nothing as he is only 350g above birth weight Hmm. Whish doesn't appear to be a lot in comparison to everyone else here.

Lovely to catch up on how everyone else is doing. I'll request FB group too (if it works from phone).
