Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
ReastieHorrorShow · 13/10/2011 10:46

oohhhh look what i spotted [hgrin] [hgrin] [hgrin]

ReastieHorrorShow · 13/10/2011 10:48

oh, and I forgot to say i can feel a tooth popping through [hgrin] . just a little sharp bit but definitely something Grin . is getting the sharp bit through the worst bit for her or have we got sleepless nights ahead?

Deliaskis · 13/10/2011 11:34

Morning ladies,

Well I went singing and I'm glad I did as it was good fun, and we now have a v qualified coach coming to our quartet rehearsal tonight (the other 3 are going to batter me now as they will be wetting themselves at the thought of singing in front of anyone else).

wiggles & Ledkr loving the term 'February slapped' and Shock at that woman! Actually I have never considered DH the owner of my boobs anyway?

reastie sorry it's all got on top of you at the moment. I agree with wiggles that it's likely that the CBT/self esteem issues are making the other things seem even more insurmountable. And also as the ever-wise wiggles also said, you're doing an amazing job with Alice. That's IMO by far the hardest thing you've got going on at the moment, and look at her, she's fab!

Choc Aldi cheese is good and cheap and so is all their cold meat/deli type stuff, and stuff like jars (if you use them Blush of curry sauce etc. You do come across some weirdos in there though, and Ponyo speaks the truth, the scariest thing is the speed at which they do the checking out and randomly flinging food at you.

Ponyo I think you're right it's the novelty of work wearing off that is probably making me miss C more, plus that she's just so adorable at the moment Grin. Still glad I am working though, just a bit less would be nice!

Interesting that you're all thinking about managing time and jobs etc. with going back to work. It's been easier for me than I thought it would be TBH. I'm not that much of a housework nut tho, it gets done when it gets done, we eat when we eat, washer drier goes on overnight etc. but we have managed to do quite a lot of house move related packing/tidying etc. so we are doing OK!

Claudia is not really crawling, although she just struggle around on her tummy and moves backwards quite a bit. In fact, she's at quite an easy stage at the moment, she sits up and plays by herself for ages, but isn't yet really able to get herself into any trouble.

In other news, she has started clapping and saying 'ca ca ca' when she does (I know she doesn't know what it really means but I guess she's just copying us).

Am Blush at how nice you are all being re That Thread. Thanks, it's lovely.

Dx

NeedToCreepZZZ · 13/10/2011 12:01

Morning girls!

I'm sooo Smile, I have a break this morning!!!! DM has taken B to storytime and I've just done a massive clean and I have the fire brigade coming this afternoon to check fire alarms etc so going to put some lippy on probably be women though

ledkr Uh oh to D pulling herself up Grin. I'm so shocked at that thread, where is it? I remember OH saying something about my boobs when I was bfing and I gave him the Hmm look and he didn't mention it again. There's another thread at the moment about how parents create bad sleepers, there's something afoot at mn at the moment.

wiggles Grin at you bigging up the frozen food (please don't say you shop in Iceland though as I think you'd be banned from mn Wink). I was bought up as a lentil eating veggie and rebelled as a teen by eating one big mac (yuk) and now religiously eat white bread, of course it's naice white bread though.

reastie I'm with you on the second baby thing and am Shock at just how women do it. Seriously, in the first three months I couldn't have got up if there'd been an earthquake some days I felt so ill.I hope you've made an appt with your gp, you are such a wonderful mum and as I have met you and Alice I can say just how well A is doing and how fab you are, so there! Maybe your cold is a result of being run down too?

In Ben poo news(look away if you're eating): he has been so constipated lately and have been giving him diluted prune juice (which looks a bit like cola in a bottle and have attracted a few stares) and wow, the poo he did yesterday and today.....Shock they must have been over a foot long each! He must have been so bunged up.

delia So good to hear about your relationship with C and that you get to do good things with her now at weekends etc, I know you miss her but must be lovely to get that feeling!

40 Really hope you get to be bff's birthing partner, is it her first? I know that having my bf with me was amazing and made us closer. Anyway, let us know what's happening.

NeedToCreepZZZ · 13/10/2011 12:05

Oh, meant to say thanks for all the ebay stories, can't believe some people are so nasty ledkr and have taken it as a warning. Think I'll stick to doing a jumble or boot sale. As christmas is coming there's bound to be a lot about.

wigglesrock · 13/10/2011 12:06

reastie how's your voice? Grin Well done A on the tooth, hope she doesn't get too bitey!

deliaskis I agree sometimes its easier to get things like the house organised when you're at work. I always found that if I'm in a work type mode I can get loads done, whereas when I'm at home, I'm a bit of a "I'll do it in a minute...", 2 hours later still sitting in same spot throwing dried strawberry bits into Annas mouth Grin

Anna claps if you sing "clap a hands, Dadda come home ....", well bless her she tries.

D I kept meaning to say Christmas Eve sounds lovely, I wouldn't worry too much about the slightly increased distance. If I was free I'd jump on a plane and come, it sounds yummy Grin. Go on admit it you live in the village in Bridget Jones Diary Grin

ponyo you might just have to juggle a bit for the first few week re work. Thats why I never mind that much that all the girls are early risers, they can all get up and fed and dressed without it being that much of a rush in the mornings.

MizK · 13/10/2011 13:09

ledkr and wiggles point me in the direction of that thread please, that post is hilarious! I swear some people are hilariously awful....
reastie and ponyo lots of people may insist that you must have a second child but I can honestly say that it is bloody hard work with more than one. I would never change my decision as I adore my three. But sometimes the sheer logistics of being responsible for three individuals with their own schedules, likes, dislikes AND the older two bickering continually can be exhausting. I mean, one child is exhausting fgs!
choco and others trying to arrange going back to work, good luck! It feels like the end of an era when you have to go back don't you think? My plans are all up in the air still but kind of dreading sorting out childcare etc.
needto thanks for the poo update.....oh, and send a hunky fireman my way, please!
Right, must do something productive whilst Madame is sleeping....

wigglesrock · 13/10/2011 14:08

MizK its in AIBU - Co Sleeping - DP doesn't want to Grin Logistics are a bit of a nightmare here too, S does Irish Dancing and gymnastics after school every week and its a real pain dragging the other two out to get her esp to gymnastics. We have to wait for the hour and its a very small waiting area in which to contain Olivia Grin

NeedToCreep x posted with you earlier - the thread about parents being responsible for their babies bad sleeping habits was too much for me, I couldn't even post Grin Look like the OP ate all the smug pies from the smug factory Grin

Just back from the hairdressers with Olivia, is it wrong to be bitter that my almost 4 year old spends more time at the hairdressers than me and to top it off has much nicer hair Shock

ReastieHorrorShow · 13/10/2011 14:16

needto really wish I hadn't read the poo update while having my lunch (really must take notice of the warning!). When we went on holiday Alice got constipated. It was horrible - she kept having these hard bits of poo go in and out of her all the time and was screaming in pain Confused . We did lots of dilute fruit juice and pooey fruit for her meals and then she didn't stop going for 3 days Shock

Well, I've just had a fab little outing to our local garden centre. It's a big 'un with lots of departments, and, if I'm honest it's more of a tat gift shop than garden centre. Had lots of old ladies talk to Alice and even a little boy to get friendly with who took it upon himself to lift up his top and flash alice his tummy Shock . Went round all the christmas displays and had great fun tickling her with tinsel, showing an amazed alice face the different shiny tree decorations and looking at the amazing christmas lights flashing everywhere. She seemed to have such a great time and now she's sleeping in her push chair Grin . If we feel hemmed in again might have to make it a weekly trip, might even invite MIL for a cup of tea too Shock Grin . Just have to hide my purse at home before I leave!

mizk I can't imagine how exhausting it is having more than 1. 1 is exhausting enough thank you!

I am sooooooooooo looking forward to christmas, esp as I'm not at work proper until jan now so nothing to stress about until after the big day (well, the second big day to janes wedding).

janedoe25 · 13/10/2011 14:29

reastie as long it was only his tummy he flashed! So glad you are feeling better and that you and Alice had a nice afternoon, but are things so bad that you have to resort to drastic measures by inviting mil out??

I have spent the whole day so far sat on the couch with laptop - oops Blush. Right I have to get ready for the school run and all the stress that goes along with it!

Bledkr · 13/10/2011 16:27

I swear i will have a few yrs less for all the running around i do.Sometimes when i am piling into the car for the second time that day with Dilly to pick up Ella from her dancing school in the middle of the town centre with no parking and right by a rough pub,i am literally sweating and my heart pounding with the sheers stress. Its also trying to time Dillys sleeps and meals around it all.I hate it.Some of the Mums go to the wine bar but i cant cos of Dilly.
Ella is in 2 xmas shows and a professional panto this year so cant miss rehearsals or costume fittings or even have hair cut.I see it as yet another reason not to return to work untill afterwards.I remenber when Derri was in Panto and i worked full time, this costume woman had ago at me for forgetting a black leotard and i unleashed the dragon and gave her astream of expletives on her Hmm The director, who was a bit of a luvvie rnag me at night and i thought he'd go mad but he couldnt stop laughing and said she deserved it Grin
reastie garden centre sounds lovely.

Right you lot,i hope you are all polishing your boobies for when the dh come home from work.Dinner on the table, clean pinny and a nice ribbon in your hair Grin

NeedToCreepZZZ · 13/10/2011 16:50

Grin Grin Grin ledkr, hope the op comes and joins us here!
I have NO idea how you manage to organise things, i'd be like the woman in Green Wing that has her ironing board in the back of the car and a handbag full of porridge....

Deliaskis · 13/10/2011 16:57

[grin ] LOL Ledkr at polishing boobies, in our house it will be more like me saying 'here you bath her, I'm making an omelette, you'll have to do yours yourself later cos I have to wash my minging hair before I go out, see you in bed'.

Yes wiggles of course I live in the Bridget Jones village, my life is juuuuuust like that Hmm.

Bledkr · 13/10/2011 17:26

needto I love the green wing.I would never be like that woman tho cos i never iron but id quite like the affair with the good looking black guy Grin

d us too, altho i do have a lamb tagine in the oven at the mo [preen self and pokes tongue out at reastie] Dilly has just had some chicken and potato croquets and beans which she threw all over the floor, she ate a good lunch but seemed unconcerned by dinner, will try again in a mo cos that is when she wakes in the night, hungry.

WeAreBorg · 13/10/2011 17:46

Hello chicas,

Quick one from me as I am currently at home with my parents, driving back in a bit so prob won't have chance to post later. Mum is trying to stuff nates gob at every available opportunity, every time he squeaks she declares he must be hungry. I dug out my old baby book and I was about 22lbs at his age Shock she is such a feeder! He is about 18lbs I think and we were the same birthweight, and I was (and still am fact fans) a girl! No wonder I never crawled, rolled or actually moved!

Sorry to post random rubbish and run, see you when I return. (I can crawl now though, and roll too [smug emoticon]). Will catch up later

americanexpat · 13/10/2011 17:47

Sorry, not posted in ages. I feel obligated to read everyone's posts before posting myself then never have time to actually post.

L is absolutely exhausting now. He's crawling and pulling himself up so most of my day is spent prying things he shouldn't have out of his hands and comforting him after he's bashed his head into something for the 40th time in an hour. I'm fecking exhausted at the end of the day. His second tooth on the bottom has come through, he's eating loads (loves goat's cheese, houmous and plain yoghurt!) and is finally sleeping through about half the time.

Bledkr · 13/10/2011 18:48

borg haha my Mums the same, thats why we all have struggles with our weight. You do get more if you own a penis though, the vagina owner gets less as they get older and the men are fed to the hilt, they also dont need to help in the kitchen even if the only other person is heavily pregnant with their 5th child.Im just saying, thats all Grin

expat yep me too, itsprepare food, give food, clean baby floor and highchair. Load dishwasher, remove baby from the fireplace, start preparing next meal and so on and so forth.
Glad hes sleeping better too.

hardboiledpossum · 13/10/2011 19:23

Can I join? How do I join? DS was born 9th of feb.

ILovePonyo · 13/10/2011 19:30

Grin 'polishing your boobies' one of the funniest things I have read in a while. ledkr meant to say, I am on constant look out for the chance to use the phrase 'monkey with a puzzle' too, any day now!

expat hello, another one here who can empathise with the 'exhausting baby' - I say "anya, no" in a serious voice whenever she is too near newspaper/fireplace etc, she turns and looks at me then does a big cheeky grin and carries on Hmm Grin She did a double whammy head bump today, she headbutted the washing basket then onto the floor, that produced some screams poor baby.

reastie thanks for answering my nosy question - fair enough I say, didn't sound selfish at all. Garden centre sounds fab.

wiggles I will just have to do lots of lvely lists when I have to get organised I think. I've been meaning to take A to the hairdressers all week to have her first haircut, just havn't managed it, I think she will have better hair than me too, well at least she hasn;t got her dads hair (v curly and unruly Grin)

That thread was, erm, interesting - felt proud of all the Feb ladies being funny and articulate as always :)

Managed to keep dd awake from 2.30 til bedtime, she was so tired when I put her to bed it as very cute, all snorey. Off to check on my tea, back later.

ILovePonyo · 13/10/2011 19:32

Hello possum! Welcome, have a Wine or Brew. Don't worry, wiggles will add you to the stats asap Grin

chocoBOO · 13/10/2011 19:35

Hello possum You can join but only if

A) You swear undying love to Idris Luther blokey
B) You have a baby whose sleeping pattern is "interesting"
And C) Give wiggles all your details, including your mothers maiden name so she can stalk you keep her files up to date.

American I too am exhausted from the new exploring stage. I am about to put the Virgin box on the ceiling as R has managed to get to it everywhere else.

DP has gone away again tonight so I'm riding solo. Mac and cheese for tea I reckon. Nursery went well, R totally didn't notice that I left her and ate loads of glittery sand and made a Christmas card. Hold on, did I tell you that earlier? Brain is clearly fried so am off to find out if Bethenny is getting married is on the Internet anywhere....

Ooohhh. And who said about the super speedy Aldi check outs? That why I'm scared to go especially with R in tow. Do they even take cards!?

chocoBOO · 13/10/2011 19:36

Sorry. Cross posts ponyo. I know that cheeky grin all too well.

Emski76 · 13/10/2011 19:49

Welcome Possum! Be prepared to meet a wide and varied group of mad women! We've supported each other through all our ups and downs for the last year and you are most welcome to join us.

What's your ds name?

deadka · 13/10/2011 20:17

Evening you chatty lot.

jane we went to the church nearby yesterday and lit a candle for Zoe. Then today Imy was talking about her birthday party next year and she was very insistent that Baby Zoe had to be there too Sad .

ledkr that post was fairly twattish but I must say I agree with the giving DH some time and attention as well as the baby.

reastie that sounds like a nice day out :)

possum welcome, hopefully Head Girl wiggles will post the stats so you can see all about us, then we can add you on too :) My Sabine was born on the 8th Feb :)

Well DH is away and I've well and truly fallen off the SW wagon, had nachos and now I've cracked open Imy's potty training sweeties Grin. Make me climb back on the wagon tomorrow girls!

S has gone from being a darling little smiler to a full on whingebag today, I can almost see her second tooth pushing through her gum though so that explains a lot.

O God girls, I've got mice Shock. I've been hearing the little buggers for a few days but I saw one this morning. I'll go and buy traps tomorrow...

OP posts:
janedoe25 · 13/10/2011 20:22
