mylife it sounds lovely, the seaside is about 45mins away from us and we do go a lot. Growing up in land locked innercity birmingham i really appreciate it and would love to live closer to the coast, i absolutly love living here in the countryside, everytime we drive back down the M5 after a weekend away i feel so sad for half the journey because we are leaving all we love then so happy for the other half because we live in such a lovely part of the country.
dh man, its been soooo hot hasnt it, are u able to leave a window open in ur room? I think the heat is a lot more difficult to handle than the cold, im glad #2 is coming in the winter.
Well D slept really well untill 5ish then he was really unsettled but went off into a deep sleep around 6ish and was still asleep at 7.30 so all in all not too bad at all. Those ruddy four teeth STILL havent come through but clearly are not causing as much problem as they were. My sister is coming today, i find her hard work at times, hopefully she will be in a happy good mood, not a deep, lets talk about everything, mood!

Interesting hearing peoples areas and what they can do in regards to leaving their children, I leave L in the car to pay for petrol, It would never occure to me to get him out, I've never seen anyone take a baby out to pay for petrol. In Asda last week I was just out of Tumble Tots so L had his name badge on and a woman came up to me and told me to take it off, because someone could snatch him! they would snatch him even if they didnt know his name though surely if they wanted to and had a chance, I didnt think as it was stuck to his back.
Set to be a scorcher today, my friend is opening a beauty salon next week so we are leaflet dropping today.
My mum had L yesterday he now has a raw bum as he did 8 poo's yesterday and has just done a maffis one now too! Then at night after he was in bed and we went out on the bikes and when he woke up fil brought him down stairs, he let the dog upstairs, he ripped a toy that was like polystyrene grains inside so he picked it up and threw it into cot covering it so I had to settle L and strip his bed when we got back!
oh and mlic Im still doing shred Grin

Spirael · 30/09/2011 09:04

Morning all! Very Envy of all of you out enjoying the sunshine... I've been stuck in a glass walled office with dodgy air-conditioning all week, trying to focus on debugging some massive database queries. Then followed by the commuter scrum on the overcrowded buses, fun fun!

All this after nights of disturbed sleep thanks to M having a cold and it being too hot and sticky to really settle. Though last night we apparently all slept like the dead, M even grumbled at me and stubbornly tried to stay asleep when I went in to get her up this morning! Naturally it means I'm more tired today than I was with several wakeups. Confused

Oh well, at least tomorrow is the weekend and it sounds like it's still meant to be fairly nice! :) We're hoping to have a BBQ and get the paddling pool and sand pit out in the garden for M to play in.

I have to admit the one time while on maternity leave that I filled up the car when it was just me and M, and the pay-at-pump wasn't working, I did unclip her carseat and carry her in with me. But then we had a dock for the carseat, so loading and unloading took a second or two.

Nowadays DH either fills the car in his lunch break or both of us are there together at weekends, so it's not been a problem since M's moved into the bigger car seat.

I wouldn't leave M outside a store in this area... [paranoid] But then we don't really have many tiny corner stores. There's a moderately sized Tesco on the corner of my street for all my emergency milk/paper/eggs needs. :)

Trudyla · 30/09/2011 09:39

Hi all,

I'm still here. I'm the huge, fat, ginormous, uncomfortable whale in the corner Grin

I've been very busy this week, working, sorting out birthing options, osteopath and the glorious massage.

Can't remember who asked, but insurance works differently over here. The poor self employed sods (me) can't have the NHS equivalent health insurance (because the German authorities want to make it as hard as possible for you to be self employed, they rather want you to work for a big company, employed until the end of your days) so DP and I have to pay a huge amount of money for private insurance every month. So I don't feel in the least bit guilty about the massages, cos no poor worker is subsidising it.

Quick question. Those who give their babes toast in the morning. What do you put on? I've been putting almond butter on so far but M is getting bored of it now. Any ideas?

Things are going well here. M is walking most of the time now. We all love it. She is much happier (mlic you were right) and less frustrated and is such a happy, chirpy toddler. It's a delight to be with her and watch her talk (gibberish), walk, dance and entertain us. (haha, anus)

Baby in belly is doing well as well. Low down already. I'm 36 weeks but I think he's gonna come early. I'm getting very excited about meeting him and having two babies.

My hypno therapy has finished now and I feel like a new person. I'm not scared anymore about being positive, in case something bad will happen when I admit it (yes, this is how I've felt most of my life) and it is very liberating.

Hope you're all OK. I will try and read back now. It's glorious sunshine here, can't wait for the weekend. What are you all up to?

Chulita · 30/09/2011 09:54

I would never take my two in with me to pay for petrol, absolutely pointless imo. Do people seriously do that? You can see the car the whole time, paying never takes longer than about 3 mins and it's far safer than getting a recalcitrant nearly 3 year old across the forecourt with toddler on hip and then back again. If I can see them, I'll leave them for a quick thing but if I can't see the car they come with me, even if I'm only dropping a letter off. I wouldn't leave them outside a shop though, only locked in the car.

I'm going to have to ask the mw about stuff today, I walked to the shops and back, about half a mile and I was absolutely shattered - as in, shaky, dizzy, nauseous, have-to-sit-down-before-I-fall-down from about 5.30 til I went to bed at 8.30. It's just stupid and really pissing me off. Where's that fricking 2nd trimester bloom?

mlic I'd love to live near the coast, last year we were 10 mins drive away and we went all the time. I really miss it now we're absolutely miles away. Even though we've bought a house nowhere near the coast, both of us at some point want to move closer to it.

memphis Hmm at them snatching him cos he's tagged...what a dumb thing to say!

spirael apparently it'll be sunny all weekend so you should get to enjoy some of it :)

viks well done on surviving that 17 hour day, it would have killed me the state I'm in, I'm not surprised you'd had enough by the end!

Chulita · 30/09/2011 09:56

trudyla you sound very happy :) I put mashed banana/peanut butter/jam/honey/marmite/egg on for S.

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 30/09/2011 11:58

Well done memph, keep up the good work!

Trudy I'm so happy she's better I told you so Wink
I just give them toast with jam. ds1 sometimes gets jam if he asks but usually just butter

Had my first bikini wax in over 15 months today, woo hoo! And been to the library to pick new books in peace Just now sitting on the concrete in the garden enjoying the sun. It feels a bit weird though, almost like I can't do it any more...

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 30/09/2011 12:28

Oh and chul, while I don't go on the beach as much as I could, every time I walk through town and look to the side I can see the sea. I love that. And I love just driving along the coast whatever the weather too (ie on my way somewhere or on the way back) - I went to pick up a takeaway on Saturday night and it honestly looked like it could have been a beach abroad, so peaceful and clam and still really warm. Love it.

Hopefully the regeneration will bring a bit of life back to the place. At the moment it is dreadfully run down

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 30/09/2011 17:49

I just noticed in my post of 11:58 I said I give them toast and jam, and sometimes ds1 gets jam Confused I give them toast with butter.

Or a teacake with butter, which they've both just had for their supper. Babyboy had the best day he's ever had today at nursery Grin And then within 5 minutes of getting home he fell off the slide and scraped his face Sad

WhatSheSaid · 30/09/2011 17:59

Toast - just with butter or marge usually. I don't give G toast that often, she just lobs it over the side of the high chair.

Chul - some people do take their kids into petrol station when they pay, there have been several threads on MN about it and people get very heated about it - along the lines of "But-your-car-could-be-carjacked-by-terrorists-or-explode-in-the-30-seconds-you-are-away-how-dare-you-leave-your-children-for-even-ONE-second". Crazy.

Chulita · 30/09/2011 18:25

mlisc S is mega clumsy at the mo, in 3 days he's plunged headfirst down a hill and landed nose-down on concrete, dived headfirst onto a cement floor off a sofa and slid (you guessed it) headfirst off an armchair onto the floor. His forehead is all scrapes and bruises and looks so painful! He's just a very quick climber and it's always when I'm sorting L out that it happens.
Glad you enjoyed your child-free day, sounded relaxing!

I told the mw about my inability to do anything without keeling over and she said 'well' 'you do have a lot on at the moment'. I said that they were hardly hard work, and that even a half mile walk puts me out for the rest of the day and she just said it was just the way it is. She also looked at my blood test from 8 weeks ago and said my iron levels were very good Hmm that was 8 weeks ago you plum...

wss ah, I see! If my car exploded while I was 20 feet away it would get me too, and if terrorists really wanted my car I doubt they'd wait for a month til I filled up...but I totally see their point.

CakeandRoses · 30/09/2011 20:45

survived a trip to dentist today - he said baldy's black gum is just a molar pushing blood to the surface. bigboy loved the whole thing and tried to secure stickers for all three of us Grin

chul bloody crap about how your feeling and how the mw reacted. hope you'll spk to your doc

trudy you sound like a different woman! so so happy for you all. what are your moving plans now?

i liked the jam riddle mlic Grin

babygirl has humous or cream cheese and ds has peanut butter, sometimes with jam too

was supposed to be a relaxing night in with dh, a takeaway and a film but think they were both overtired as we got in so late so both have been screaming their heads off instead of sleeping so we haven't even made it downstairs yet. looks like the final stages now.

i'm out all day at a spa tomo and then straight out for a meal for the first time so really hoping dh doesn't have to do this nightmare on his own tomo

our friend i mentioned who are breaking up are all over now Sad. he moves out on sunday. i'm so gutted for them and their dd and just the whole era of our friendship with all of us together too. feel terrible for him especially as he doesn't want to break up Sad

they're quiet at last. right... my last friday night takeaway of my 30s Shock

memphis83 · 01/10/2011 08:16

Morning everyone, L is sleeping so well recently, but got me up at 6.30 and dh was out walking the dog so I had to get up. L had 100% fruit jam or pate on toast. He loves crumpets too.
cakes hope your takeaway was nice!
chulita mw sounds like a definate plum!

Well my friend text me yesterday saying her dad has a 3 bed house with a garage coming up for rent in the village I used to live in and we plan on moving too, its earlier than planned, but its a long term rental, great landlord, no deposit and he will let us do what ever we want to it...I just hope DH will like it when we view it next week!

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 01/10/2011 09:05

Sounds great memphis!

Dylthan · 01/10/2011 09:22

Our local corner shop is an alright size but its just jammed full of things and the aisles are tiny so its almost impossible to get a buggy in and everyone leaves their babies outside.
I prefer to drive to the bright and airy shops in the next village though so have never really shopped there.

mlisc I'm very jelous of your christening cake. B&D are getting christened a week on Sunday we were going to use the top tier of our wedding cake. My friends at work have been on at me to re ice it because it will be yellow. I've had a look and its not they said that was impossible and asked where is been storing it. I said in the fridge. They both looked at me like this Shock and told be it should've been wrapped in greasproof paper and then tin foil before being stored in an airtight container. I asked if it would still be edible after 7 and a half years of fridge storage and they looked at me like this Hmm so now I don't know what to do Sad

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 01/10/2011 09:49

Well I'm no cake expert, but personally I would have it there for decoration/formaily, but buy or make another one to give out to people.

Just what I'd do, not saying that it's right.

Dylthan · 01/10/2011 10:03

But that means I'm going to have to decorate the bugger now. I was hoping to just have it cut up and ready to go because a cake decorator I am not.

But you're right its going to taste like crap isn't it.

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 01/10/2011 10:08

So just bin it then and buy a nice pre-decorated cake Grin

Dylthan · 01/10/2011 10:17

Shock but where is your sense of tradition Wink :o

Do you think anyone would notice if I passed a lovely pre made cake off as my minging 7 year old wedding cake hand decorated by my own fair hands? Wink

Wow lots of posts!

Trust you must be getting v excited, it's making me want another baby now, I love seeing newborns they're so cute.

I thought we were having a breakthrough with D and sleep. He went to sleep last night with dh cuddling him and he slept ALL NIGHT well til 5ish but tonight he just screamed when dh tried so I had to feed him. He had another hour nap this afternoon but I can't really seem to get him to have it before 2.

memphis83 · 01/10/2011 20:45

dh I much prefer when the babies are out of the newborn stage, I dont feel like I will break them then! I think him sleeping til 5 is pretty good, lets hope it continues to get better!
mlic your photos of the past few days are lovely!
dylthan I probably would have done the same as you and put it in the fridge not knowing, just buy a premade one and stick a load of stuff on it, no one will know! Grin

We have had a great day, we have had a BBQ and L enjoyed it, I know its behind everyone here but he actually fed himself with a spoon and fork for the first time, normally the food doesnt make it as far as the mouth, so I clapped like a demented seal saying gooood boooooyyyy! He just looked at me like shut up mum Im trying to eat!
Ive been cleaning out all my kitchen cupboards and even on top of them, painted the front and back doors, Im heading for a fall here getting my hopes up for this house and DH may hate it then I will sulk til 2015 Grin

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 01/10/2011 21:19

Thanks memph - I feel like they're a bit boring in a way as they're just 'the boys', 'another picture of the boys', 'here's a picture of my boys'...but we have family in Scotland who only get to see them on facebook. My fil and sil only met ds2 for the frst time at his Christening last week Shock My step mil was too poorly to make the journey so only has the photos.

And he doesn't feed himself either - if I give him a loaded fork he does, but he doesn't easily load it himself. So I don't think L is begind in that respect.

I love seeing newbrons. So long as I can give them back Wink

TSC I didn't understand your comment 'how do i kick clara out in with him' - do you mean get them to share? Mine won't be sharing for a long, long time after my last efforts
